Thank you for your idea, but I'd like something more similar to the stock navigation bar

In latest Nova versions, navigation bar is already transparent for Huawei Phones.

Try another launcher like Go Launcher,Next Launcher,Line Launcher...In these Launcher in Preferences you find a option like "Transparent Status bar & Nevigation bar".

Yes, nova launcher updated from the market.
I think that it is only possible on miui, move to drZMIUI for that feature. Its ics as well and that feature is quite handy as I watch movies and videos a lot and it helps a lot.

You can use launcher pro or other with an option to hide icon in app drawer if that what u mean.
Or u could just uninstall the app
you can use another launcher or so to hide them ....or you can UNINSTALL them if you are rooted...

There are many launchers on Play Store which have the capibility of hiding apps!
Such as Go launcher etc

Are you using any wallpaper app? If yes then stop that & use some image stored on your phone as your wallpaper. Do this & might see the transparent bar.
If you are using some custom launcher like Nova instead of stock Xperia launcher, you'll have to enable transparent notification & status bar from 'Look & feel' in Nova settings.

Cool. Try to use thanks button to say thanks wherever possible. It reduces the number of unneeded posts which are just saying "thanks". It helps to keep the threads shorter.

MM 6.0 and GOOGLE LAUNCHER instead of HUAWEI LAUNCHER

Dear,
Under MM, if you want to use Google Launcher instead of the welcome Huawei, or Huawei Launcher, download Launcher Google Now and go to applications, and parameters and finally advances parameters and application use by default, and pitch Google Apps, and enjoy the result.
Yours
Did you manage to get the App icons uncluttered like in stock android with Google now launcher?
I still have these ugly borders and backgrounds... Even if I use the purev3.hwt theme. It only works on huawei launcher..

I'm running Google Now Launcher, and no, I'm stuck with the hideous icons, too. As much as I like the customization option on the P8lite, it'd would've been nice to have the option to use default app icons (as in, the icons that apps show on their play store page).
Does everyone else has black background under the on-screen buttons and notification bar doesn't blend with the whole launcher? I mean app is not immersive (fullscreen)

If you want to easily change icons install luncher that supports it. Nova is one of the best
Thanks

Can confirm, this is EXACTLY what I was looking for!
Thanks for the recommendation, I'm now wondering why I didn't use Nova Launcher sooner!

Edit the OP than with the recommendation changed from Google Now launcher to Nova.
Nova is great especially if you want a really good stock android experience. Settings are limitless and probably one of the best launchers out there

Anybody know how to set different launcher as default. EMUI doesnt seem to allow you to change default.

on android MM go to settings ->Apps ->advanced(the little gear bellow) -> default app settings-> launcher
Didn't see the solution
on my smartphone google launcher works without any problem, set as default. It need to be set manually in settings, but then it is fully working.

You can also use NOVA launcher. the icons there are the stock icons, without the ugly huawei borders ^^

Transparent Navbar Nova MIUI

Has anyone had any luck getting transparent navbar working on 3rd party launchers (Nova, action, pixel, etc) on MIUI?

Hi. I use Total Launcher, which is highly customizable. It allows you to make the navbar background transparent. Initially, when I set up the launcher, the navbar had a milky white background which was pretty ugly. But in the Total Launcher settings you can make it any color and control its opacity. It does take a little work to get things right but it is worth the effort.
Under Settings > Additional Settings > Buttons
Enable 'screen buttons can be hidden'
This should make the navbar transparent

I have no idea why it didn't work in the past, maybe because I already had Nova installed vs changing this setting and then installing Nova? Not sure but it definitely is transparent now. Thanks again guys!
