[Q] How do I go back from titan to thea? - G 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello XDA members,
First of all, I want you to know my situation:
I had my phone bricked a few weeks after rooting it, so I searched until I found an unbricking method. Although I managed to unbrick my XT1072 Thea, I installed an XT1068 Titan firmware in it, and I wasnt able to change it back
I want to know if there is any way to go back to XT1072 Thea, once I have changed it to XT1068 Titan (I think this should be doable, because I was able to go from Thea to Titan, so there must be a way to go from Titan to Thea).
Thanks for your atention, and I hope you know how to help me

wipe and Install thea firmware?

NEVER update anything if you are rooted especially not when you have a custom recovery. At least not until you thoroughly read through the forum. I find it insane that people will just start flashing things when you could possibly have a $700 paper weight. The att model and the tmous model have different modems. Go here for a really good guide. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2753013

You can't just go back to kitkat since there's no one put out a return to stock kitkat procedure. Your best option is to use the return to jelly bean stock flashtool procedure for at&t and just take the kitkat update again that's the only way.

Yep, you are stuck until the full 4.4.4 SBF is released for your carrier. Shouldn't have done that.
Who is your carrier? If it is AT&T, you are in luck! The 4.4.4 SBF was just released. If not....bummer - you will have to wait. Can't flash a ROM with a different CID with a locked BL.
I highly suggest you don't attempt to manually force the older rom. Really, beyond the fact that you flashed the wrong ROM, how did you miss all the warnings that downgrade = brick?
Tough situation to be in. Hopefully you have an AT&T unit. If so, we can help get you fixed up.
Well, I have solved it Unlocking my Bootloader and then reinstalling the rom 4.4.4 retail from Brazil. It works now.
I have a question, now I am in Brazil but I am from Perú, and when I try to change the APN for the one I use in Perú, it deletes itself, so I can not change the APN or create a new one because i can not save it. What is the problem in there?
My phone was Nextel operator, then I unlock it, never had a problem.
Hope your help.
Thanks!

[Q] Major device confusion and ROM installing :s

I own a moto g XT1072 which I bought in the uk a few weeks back. Its a 4g single sim version. When I try to install cm12.1 thea it tells me my device is a titan. When I try to install a cm12.1 Titian it tells me I have the wrong boot loader. It is majorly confusing me as I don't k ow if I have the wrong boot loader, how to find my updated bootloader to flash, or if it is even the boot loader at all or if I have the wrong recovery? To be honest I'm not sure if I have a titan or a thea as different things tell me different devices. Any help would be awesome as all I want to do is flash cm12.1 but its proving to be a difficult task
Cheers

Now I think that I am on the way to hardbrick my moto xt1068. cause, I checked the bootloader version everytime I flashed, first I was on cm12.1 [BL v48.82], so I flashed the stock 5.0.2 with stagefright in order to update to indian MM [Then BL was v48.83], now when I updated to Indian MM [BL was on v48.86].
But I again wanted to go on cm, so flashed the TWRP, then flashed xperiaZ5G rom[Android v5.1.1], and checked the BL [was on same v48.86 ].
Now i wanna know that if flash stock 5.0.2 on v48.86 BL will that hardbrick?
and if is there any failproof method to flash LP roms or stock LP without causing hardbrick, what're those?
Thank You.

Hi
Just make sure you're not downgrading your bootloader.. Don't include gpt.img and motoboot.img while flashing the 5.0.2. And after that never install update via OTA.

So if something goes wrong, I can still flash stock, but excluding gpt.bin and motoboot.img (will that work?)
and I can still flash custom recoveries, roms, etc. right?

Yep, just make sure you're not downgrading your bootloader and don't update your phone via OTA and you'll be fine.

my current bootloader is 48.86 i used xt1069 's marshmallow previously
I FLASHED XT1068_TITAN_RETAILDSDS_5.0.2_LXB22.99-16.3_Easy_Installer.zip ON BOOTLOADER 48.86 VIA FASTBOOT IT GIVES ME MSG IN PINK ( version downgrade for _gpt and version downgrade for tz) and rest is worked fine it successfully booted into the stock 5.0.2 after that i updated soak test update of 6.0 by coping blurred version into sd card and checking it by going into settings >about phones >system updates
so not faced any problem as of now i m sure what i done i have a video proof also that i flashed (XT1068_TITAN_RETAILDSDS_5.0.2_LXB22.99-16.3_Easy_Installer.zip ON BOOTLOADER 48.86)
Exactly Same with me....

Any Jeter firmware should work, all motorola stock images are ok as long as they are for the same "codename"
Did you figure out how ive got the solution

You just download the stock firmware and Flash it with fastboot. You won't likely be able to relock your bootloader.
