ASUS ZenFone2 ZE550KL. Reduce camera noise - Zenfone 2 Laser General

Hi Guys, Try these camera settings those who get noise/grainy pictures, It working picture perfect for me. ASUS ZenFone2 ZE550KL. Reduce camera noise by these simple setings
AUTO MODE:
White Balance : Auto
ISO : 400
Exposure Value : +1
Optimization : Auto
Image Quality : Fine
Touch Shutter : On
Camera Version: 20.42.0_151014
Naveen

Cannot confirm at z00ad. With +1 exposure pictures looks like too much light on them.
I think that this can be problem in app with saving parameters. Creating a image file is failure, not just hardware.
Has someone tried other apps to make pictures?

looked a lot and found nothing!!
any idea how to root this ze550kl..???

Hey, i tried thr above setting and still there is to much noise indoors...
Any idea or any other setting to avoid noise details

[Q] Camera problem

I just noticed my camera issue and the problem is that in the day time, My camera quality is really awesome no doubt...!!! even the front camera is awesome..however in the night, the camera is dull, when I click images, some whiteness on the edges comes and it's not at all clear images..!!
Is this issue with my phone or with everyone??
most of the people have the same issue , however with the latest firmware people are saying the night / low light camera quality has improved.
i havent tried it personally but if you search around most of the people will agree

uhmm no you can play around with the settings to improve the quality a litte bit but as a whole it sucks in the night
I feel that the hardware is not to be blamed here...
The software here is at fault..
The superior auto mode is not so superior in its job(it's ok if you want to capture something real-quick)... But if you want the best from the hardware you'll have to turn to manual controls...(Camera FV-5 is the best app I know for that)
Jpeg compression is just too much here...thus we can see the lack of detail in some photos(macro)
To get the best of the camera,My suggestions are as follows :-
If you like the stock camera app... 1)Turn off superior auto mode... Switch to manual mode
2) set the ISO at 200 (max) for daylight photography,,,,400 for twilight
3) HDR off
4) metering mode set to average
And if you still want better results:
1) install Camera FV-5 (full version support developer )
2) go to settings -> photo encoding settings -> file format -> set it to PNG ( it takes some seriously huge pics (15 mb..:-o) )
3) now apply all the manual controls mentioned above
If you think what difference does the above methods do to the quality of the photos... Take a photo with normal method (superior auto) and then manual method... And then compare..
If you feel that I've helped you in anyway, please hit the thank button

[Q] Best default Camera Mode?

Do you guys have any opinions on what the best camera mode is for general shooting?
I'm trying to pick between Superior Auto, Manual 8MP and Manual 20.7MP.
Thoughts?
My pick is 20.7 MP with image stabilizer enabled, better results without it if you have a steady hand.
I use no scene, auto white balance (unless the auto gets it wrong), 20.7 MP, multi metering mode, image stabilize enabled.
To increase sharpness and reduce noise I then downsample the image to a width of about 3500px using Irfanview, because it's much better than Sony's crappy oversampling algorithm that it uses for the 8MP images.

Camera Apps Can Tune Sharpening, Noise Reduction?

I'm considering buying the Nokia 8 but would first prefer to know whether or not the phone allows third party camera apps like Camera FV-5 or Snap Camera HDR to tune sharpening and noise reduction, or altogether switch these off.
Any Nokia 8 owners who have tried this and can tell if this works or not?
You can use any camera app you like
Thanks. I am sure that is true.
My question is specific. If I install a camera app that allows tuning post processing (sharpening and noise reduction), will this work on the Nokia 8?
Not all phone makers expose these controls in the camera APIs.
For example, Samsung's Galaxy phones equipped with Exynos chips does not permit tuning post processing while their SnapDragon models do this.

I have both Camera FV-5 and Manual Camera so I could check if such options are there if you tell me where to look as I don't recall seeing something like that in their preferences (I had Nexus 6P previously).
Thanks. I'll check when I reach home in a few hours.

You can check in Camera FV-5. See my screenshots where to find sharpening. If you take a photo first before adjusting and then after with sharpening set to minimum: will you see difference in quality, when zooming in to 100% ?

Well, it is by default set to 0 here (all sliders in this window are) so I would have to manually change it to higher value in order to do any comparison.
Okay, thanks. So probably doesn't work then. I guess I need to consider other phones. ?
On my current phone (Asus PFS) it's set to almost zero but adjusting it has no effect on picture quality.
Ok, when I tried to move that slider it turned out it is impossible. So that fully answers your question
Just find an app that takes RAW images and use that. Then adjust said parameters to your heart’s content
I'd rather buy another phone that supports this.
If you have Camera2 API enabled in your phone, try Snap Camera - you can tune everything here. Just enable Camera2 API in the settings, then the noise is preserved. Adjustable sharpness, saturation etc... The only option missing here for me is long exposure mode. On my Redmi 4X it allows only 1" shutter time max (still I can get nice night pictures on ISO 250 with this interval).
Also, you can try FreeDCam and disable Wavelet Denoise in the settings to turn off noise reduction.
Finally, Google Camera port is really great camera app for daily usage, especially for HDR pictures - it uses Camera2 API by default and produces amazing shots with all details (subtle noise) preserved. Unfortunately, you can't adjust any of parameters like sharpness or saturation.
All those apps are tested on my Xiaomi Redmi 4x but it will hopefully work for you if your phone supports Camera2 API.
So you tested on a Xiaomi Redmi 4x but haven't tested on a Nokia 8?
Those features are very much dependant on whether or not the phone supports them. And no way of knowing without buying the phone and testing and then finding out the good or bad news.
So far the hints from previous posters above is that the Nokia 8 does NOT support full control over post processing.

Dear friends,

Face retouching isn't working even in Night Sight unless you select "test key Pixel2017 or 2016" from "Mask". However, it will disable the Portrait mode

Google Camera 7 may only work with Android 9 and above. Please, test yourself if you are on Android 8 and report in the thread.

Front camera greenish photos under dim light can be corrected by doing few things:
1. Enable HDR+ enhanced from drop down menu
2. Go into advanced settings and set time for front camera "1/5s" in ISO/ Exposure Time HDR+ or ISO 100. 1/5 captures photos faster though.
3. Reduce HDR+ frames to 5-10. Whenever you want to capture night shots without flash then enable HDR+ enhanced.
Configuration file
Video Capture Issues:
GCam is bad at capturing videos with P2.
Hence, install Open Camera, select 30 fps from video setting of the app then select audio source as default or optimised for voice recognition.
Keep resolution at 1080p for capturing, otherwise app will force close.
Adjust exposure while capturing videos at will.
This solution would work on Android 10 as well and it will record audio too.
Don't forget to test capture video to understand how it works.
Note: Config files are given as attachments.
What works:
Portrait, Night Sight, Face Retouching, AR Stickers, Playground, Photobooth, Panorama, RAW image, Video capture, Photo sphere, Lens, Motion Capture, Super Res-Zoom (Full zoom with HDR+ enabled), SlowMo (ROM dependent), Lens Blur

As far as I know, RR is the only 8.1 ROM for P2 with almost zero or controllable bugs so an upgrade to RR should do the trick.

May be the camera is not focusing the object you are capturing. First touch the area you want to focus and then capture. Otherwise, restart the app. I tried a few flash photos and found that it did shoot few overexposed photos. I restarted the app and it was all good again.

Any GCAM port for SONY Xperia 1 Mark ii?

Ive tried multiple GCAM port from, BSG, Shamim, LMC, Arnova etc... Some of them crashed instantly, some of them made it up to video mode and seemed to work just fine with the video mode. But couldn't sustain in photo mode.
Only working version i found is quite old BSG 8.1 but that also seemed pretty laggy, is there anyone who uses gcam for this specific model!
Video moder working model: SGCAM 8.4 V43
I will truly be grateful to you for your assist.
Install AGC8.4.300_V9.5.apk .. now long tap on cam icon (the yellow one) .. then open settings .. and copy these settings as you see
Disable the settings as I show them to have very smooth viewfinder
I prefer not to use the automatic AWB, with the settings I wrote to you, you should be able to take excellent photos both with the automatic AWB (coldest photos) and without the automatic AWB (photos with more natural colors)
Only the main camera works, the night mode does not work, the videos also work at 4k 60fps (also in slowmo)

you should try it yourself, it depends on the situations, I find a more accurate and natural hdr in backlit situations that are not easy
I find more marked details (sharpness)
if set as I wrote, I don't experience lag, crash or anything else
