I personally would appreciate it if someone could take the vz watermark out of this animation, and repack it. Feel free to add a link if someone could do this.
Thanks

Can you post a video of the boot animation?

I haven't had any luck repackaging this into a working boot animation. Have you? If so, would you share it?

If you have root you can copy this file to system/media. First change original bootanimation.zip to bootanimation1.zip then copy file to same folder change permissions to rwrr. Worked for me

Thanks for removing the watermark and posting. I installed following the directions above with no problem. I am on Marshmallow if that helps anyone in the future.

Thank you very much, however, do you think you can edit the picture a little bit? It seems just a touch grainy, is that because of a size restriction? Either way, thank you very much. Could you make a version without "Rooted" at the bottom?

I would like help installing this as well. I have no folder on my sdcard for root. In my sdcard folder I do have a zip file called PG05img.zip. That is the same name as this file I just downloaded. If I put the downloaded file into the same folder as the other one wont it completely erase the other file?

Guys, the root just means not in any folder. Their are instructions in the OP and in another post on page 1.
Btw, chas, you want to remove the original PG05IMG.zip from your SD card. Every time you boot into hboot that will try and update on your phone. Best to remove it asap to avoid problems
named PG05IMG so bootloader sees it. U just put on root of sdcard not in any folder, ifu have another file with same name it won't work.

i've had the toolbox posted on droid rzr for awhile (stickied in the development section) decided to mirror it here when i made changes recently. it definitely works
I tried it. i have only gotten it to work with one image... all the other ones end up getting all garbled over the top of the stock image, so i can see the stock then a garbled custom one over the top half of the stock one.

I'm guessing you're referring to the boot logo flashing function? i use the dd command to write the logo.bin to the mmcblk1p10 partition, so my guess is the image files you're having problems with are smaller in size than the original one? logo.bin images should be approximately 854kb.
here's a tutorial i made awhile ago on how to make your own:

hope this helps.

How to change boot animation?

More recently devices have been using mp4
If you have another android:
Pull /system/bin/bootanimation and put it into our /system/bin/ folder
Then you can use zips as normal
Sent from my 0PCV1 using XDA Free mobile app
The bootanimations on the stock rom are in /system/customize/resourse
Download the bootanimation.zip you want to use, then put it in the resource folder, and rename it to the name of the bootanimatiin for your carrier. For example, mine on Boost Mobile is BM_startupanimation.zip (or something really close to that, I didn't look, I just remember from when I changed my bootanimation)
If you want to keep your old bootanimation as a backup, just change its file extention to .bak instead of .zip, but it's also okay to just delete it.

/system/customize/CID/default.xml in Non Sense Rom 1.03 says that the boot animation is in /system/customize/resource/AIO_bootup.zip. All you have to do is either delete that and replace it or change the extension so it is unusable, then replace it, and it should work perfect.

4 is read
5 is read/execute (execute is always needed for directories)
6 is read/write
7 is read, write, and execute
The first number is Owner, the second is Group, and the third is Other. Thus 644 is
Read Read Read
Write
copied/pasted from iiinetworks at http://forums.oscommerce.com/topic/65510-what-is-permission-644-444-777/
Our if you use ES File manager, locate the file and touch and hold then go to more and properties you can easily check the permissions and if necessary change them

And if Virgin Mobile: VM_startup_animation.zip
Sprint: spcs_startup_animation.zip
---------- Post added at 04:58 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:12 AM ----------
Problem I'm having is I replace my VM_startup_animation.zip and I refresh my file which is in /system/customize/resources/ and view it, and I see the new boot animation just fine. I reboot and it's the default VM one. I go back to the directory and open the zip file and it's all e original VM startup again. So it's over writing the changed file with the factory one. Thoughts?

Would you like the stock boot back? ( ALWAYS KEEP IT IN A SAFE PLACE) I'll post it below . I just noticed theres an Error in the flashable.Zip. (To add sound to your bootanimation you must save an .ogg file in the same folder and code it into the animation) .Use root explorer to replace whatever boot animation you have in the SYSTEM>MEDIA folder and edit permission to rwxr--r--
Thanks, I appreciate you helping me with the stock animation.
Can you help me figure out why the hell I can't get any other boot animations to work?

after my initial research your png files in each folder must be consecutive i.e P1 000.png-070.png P2 071.png - 139.png Etc..... they must be consecutive. you started from zero in each Part. 70 .png per folder

I've attached a zip file with all of the images. I renamed each one to be in exact numerical order starting at 000 and going in increments of 001.
I placed that zip file with the desc.txt file into system/media and set the permissions at 0744(rxwr--r--).
It still didn't work.... Is there a limit to how many images can be in one folder?
I attached the zip in question to this post so you can see.
I also tried setting the permissions to 0644(rw-r--r--) and that didn't work either
