Which SanDisk product do you recommend to use for Note 5? - Galaxy Note5 Accessories

Hello, I know that we cannot insert a sdcard inside the Note 5. I am considering to get one to connect to the Note 5 externally temporarily. Which sandisk product do you recommend?

I use a 64gb sandisk class 10 with an OTG adapter and just transfer everything once a week to keep all my phones storage free'd up..

Picked up this little guy last week. you do have to add your own micro SD card, but does the job nicely.

I have one of these too... carry it around on my keychain

I already have SanDisk ultra 64GB class 10 for my Note Pro. Is there any advantages in using faster cards such as the Extreme, Extreme Plus, Extreme PRO or the more convenience Ultra Dual USB Drive 3.0?

im using Dual USB Drive 3.0 SanDisk, but my note 5 can not read the USB with "Security policies restricts USB OTG".
can anyone show me how to fix this?

I don't know the answer, but someone else should chime in.

This seems like a nice device but that keychain piece looks cheap and looks the ring portion of it will break after a while.

Yeah, with my luck it will break and I'll lose it for sure.

I have had it for a little while but don't like the fact that the USB adapter part is a separate piece not on the keychain. Also the USB adapter is flaky and keeps disconnecting from the pc. Just bought one of these instead which should fit the bill. I'll let you know how it goes when I get it... http://m.ebay.com/itm/Micro-SD-TF-T...3D161876565555&_trksid=p2056116.c100408.m2460

[Q]micro sd hidden?

Did someone notice something similar to micro sd slot near the battery on the pen side?
Is that true,or what is that?
hidden SD Slot
Just had a look at my diamond round the stylus cant see an SD slot there i think its just a hoax but stand to be corrected if someone else can say where it is
The only thing I can see is a piece of PCB near the 'pen pulled out detection switch' (write it down for scrabble).
It isn't a micro SD slot as far as I can see.
The original Diamond was supposed to have one, but to make it smaller they removed it and just kept the 4GB internal storage. Only the Touch Pro has a microSD slot.

WRONG.
The HTC Touch Diamond was not primarily designed as business phone, but a casual smartphone with a host of entertainment features (You Tube for example) akin to the iPhone.
External card reader
Is there any way you could get the Diamond to read an external card reader via a usb cable?

Why aren't there low profile flash drives with micro-USB connectors?

Something like the one below with a micro-usb connector instead.
I would think some manufacturer could make a killing in the phone/tablet market...
Agreed, that's a great idea, maybe nobody has actually thought about it who works in the industry? Stranger things have happened.

Kickstarter, buddy. Make your own and make your millions at the same time.
So I bought this Microusb flash drive/ microsd card reader from Amazon to try with my Nexus 10. It's not low profile, but it is pretty small.
http://www.amazon.com/Koolertron-NO...727367&sr=8-8&keywords="microusb"+"card+noosy
I can get the 4 gb flash drive to work using either Nexus Media Importer or Stick Mount, but I cannot get the microsd to show up. It works fine in my Galaxy S3 in both ICS and Jellybean. Has anyone else tried this product? Any ideas to get one of those apps (or another one) to read a device that has both a usb flash drive and microsd card? This device could be the answer to my storage problems on the Nexus 10 if only I can get it to read the microsd card! Thanks!

I already got 2 of those and they work fine with NMI - just looking for something that won't block the headphone jack. One of those with the micro-usb connector reversed would at least go in the other direction and leave the headphone jack accessible.

I'm trying to avoid something that sticks out too far. If you drop the N10 or bang it on something with that connected, it could really stress (or even break) the micro-usb jack.
I only need the flash drive/card reader to watch movies. I'm ok with it jutting out some as long as I can get it to work. I'm surprised no one else has found this item with all the people looking for microusb flash drives.

If it doesn't exist (yet), that makes it kinda hard to find.
I just ordered this from ebay. It's not specifically described as OTG but it does say it's 5-pin, so I'm hopeful. At least it will leave the headphone jack accessible.
The point of my earlier post is that micro-usb flash drives do exist, and you can buy them from amazon. It may not be small enough for you, but it is still pretty small and light and could be a good option for people who do not want to build their own or be stuck using a cable.
The problem is that I still can't get it to read the microsd card. It is only reading the flash memory part on my Nexus 10. My Galaxy S3 can read the 4 gig internal memory and the 32 gig microsd card.

Sorry - I was still referring to a low profile flash drive, as pictured in the OP and another poster's picture. I have seen the ones you're referring to, and I'm just paranoid about it sticking out that far. The right angled adapter I posted above (assuming it works as OTG) would at least keep the flash drive running parallel to the edge of the N10, rather that sticking out perpendicular to it.
I just bought one of the SanDisk Fit drives you used as an example, and while I haven't looked at it closely, my guess is that the bulk of its "guts" are actually stuffed in the USB connector itself (pretty sure I've run across MicroSD card readers that worked this way) and therefore wouldn't fit into a similar package with a micro usb connector.

Missing expandable storage?

I had a 64GB microSD card that was doing nothing more than sitting since the LG G2 does not have a microSD slot. I picked up a small OTG reader and now I have almost 90GB of storage! Really nice design, micro USB OTG on one end and standard USB on the other to use with a computer.
2-in-1 USB MicroSD OTG
About $3 shipped, reads 64GB cards (specifically SanDisk Ultra 64GB XC1 class), was seeing 30MB/second reads and 10MB/second writes from the computer. The phone has no problem reading the card and there is a headphone plug to keep the reader attached to the phone. It does seem a little flimsy, but for its size and cost I am still very pleased.

This sounds like the punchline "And that's how I joined a Mexican gang".
I've been ordering from dx.com for years, never a problem. You will wait and wait for the shipment, but it will get here. If there is a problem they will fix it, for $3 you might want to get more than one. There are many other OTG adapters there as well, search OTG and sort by price, low to high, and release date to see more options, there are even some android shaped ones.
I ordered and received these before posting, I will test it once I get my phone replaced. It decided to "die" last night, reboots, gets to lock screen, freezes then reboots, even reverted to stock rom with the same issue. Going to swap it at a Sprint store today.

Compact OTG Storage option - & well priced

Was in the process of sourcing parts to follow up suggestions in other threads for making a small external micro SD card reader, and came across these. The memory is fixed at 8, 16, or 32 GB but the price is less than I've been paying for the micro SD cards!
http://www.scan.co.uk/search.aspx?q=otg
From prior experience with the supplier, although currently available pre-order only the actual items will be on the shelf soon. Certainly be getting a couple, and find a different project to play with.

Thanks for that link, I got the 16G version because of the direct plug into the device.. I've been wanting to try out F2FS and you gotta nuke the whole SD to do it, and I didn't really want to transfer it all over USB again. I think this will be much easier to deal with, and faster to transfer files back and forth from the device and get it back up again after formatting.
I'm planning to purchase either
the SanDisk Ultra Dual USB Drive, or
the Kingston DT microDuo, or
the Transcend JetFlash 380S.
They are very similar to each other. I wonder whether they differ on speed etc.
Any reviews based on experience with these or other dual USB drives are very much welcome.

I'm glad I got the 32g for just a few bucks more, my N7's whole SD card and a few TWRP's from each device and it's about full Although I could nuke the SD card backup now and free up a bunch of space.
It's a nice device, but almost too small. I'm afraid to carry it anywhere, so I put it in my zip-up earbud case since I carry them with me everywhere.

Thanks for posting this- I've just backed it. The $10 early bird with free worldwide shipping is an easy buy from me.
Now let's see someone build it into a case like they do for the batteries (better yet, along with a battery), so we can have a card permanently mounted.

Nice, that looks like the Sandisk one I have that is USB micro to USB A, but mine has built in memory and doesn't use a microsd card.
I just found the sandisk wireless flash drive the other day if anyone is looking for an unplugged experience. It works through WiFi, but you don't need internet. Supports up to 128gb cards. I feel like if I had an adapter sticking out of my phone something would get broken fast, even if it was only for 5 minutes. I'm a major butterfingers lol.

I'd usually agree with this, but I plan on using this to watch movies sometimes when I'm on transportation. I' d just put it portrait and prop it up, so probably wouldn't need to touch it too much.
Just so you all know, Monoprice has already made something like this, which is also works with USB A. I can't post a link to amazon due to a new account, but it's called the Monoprice Dual Mode USB-C MicroSD Reader.
