Hello ,
I live in Egypt, and i just bought my note 5 "n920c" from another country and it came with a lot of apps that dosn't work anywhere but in a specific region.
i have searched a lot , but i didn't find any clear DETAILED instructions on how to change my CSC , in order to flash the official firmware for my country EGYPT.
I think I found a proper firmware in sammobile , but i can't add links to the post , so here is the info ot that firmware from sammobile :

I too am considering to flash this firmware. Unfortunately, i got reception issue with the new CSC, N920COJV2AOJ3. I cannot touch 4 bar signals on 4G. to be honest a bit better than ex-one. anyway
The website says ,as instruction,;
Extract (unzip) the firmware file
Download Odin v3.10.7
Extract Odin ZIP file
Open Odin v3.10.7
Reboot Phone in Download Mode (press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons)
Connect phone and wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
Add the firmware file to AP / PDA
Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
Click the start button, sit back and wait few minutes
please let me know your experience, if you follow them.

Have you tried changing CSC? I'm curios that 4 bar signals on 4G fixed by another CSC or not.

nope.. but someone mentioned to have built the russian csc into 920c and also to be utterly satisfied with it,considering getting better reception.
i cant say new update is the same as the ex one. but to be honest, it has still problem with reception. i think the only way for satisfaction on it is to flashing and using the russian one.

I did flash the stock russian firmware to mine(came with UAE) and the reception didn't change. And also know that flashing a rom doesn't affect the baseband(the stuff that deals with the reception). The only thing you'll notice would be the bloatware that is russia specific. I am not sure why samsung blocked the ability to flash different basebands.

I see... I noticed the phone somehow sticks to finding 4g skipping good quality reception of H or H+. I have just checked mine. 4G reception streght is shown to be 120db which is unbelievably low. Moreover, i know 3g or even 2g is very good in my area ( i live in a city) but phone skips these, just focuses on finding 4g. thats very interesting.
if I change the band option from 4g to only 3g, I always get 4 bars of 3g. I think the problem comes from its software as well. But, i do not know how to fix it.

[Q] Noob Firmware Update

Hello everyone,
I just received my Galaxy I9000, and made sure i can access the Download Mode and the Recovery Mode using the 3 button combos explained in the wiki.
I bought this phone in the united states, as an unlocked phone. Since i live in South America (Ecuador to be exact), i don't have an official version for this market and i'm using this international version I9000.
Checked the Firmware version installed and is the following:
PDA: I9000BUJP7
Phone: I9000BUJP5
CSC: I9000GVD2JP5
Build Info: 2010.10
Also checked the unlock status:
Personalization Status
Network Lock: OFF
Network Subset Lock: OFF
SP Lock: OFF
CP Lock: OFF
My phone's firmware is a provider one (Vodafone), looked in samfirmware to check for new firmwares, but i need some advice:
First, since my phone has a provider specific firmware, can i flash my phone with a "generic" samsung firmware?
If so which ones should i choose the European versions or the America/Australia firmwares??
I see in the list for europa versions this one as the last:
I9000XWJS8 ## 512.PIT Version 2.2.1
And for america this one:
I9000BVJJPD ## 512.PIT Version 2.2 2010 December
I was tempted to go for the european version but im just not shure.
Also what about the MODEM/CSC, do i need to flash those too? since those are also customized versions from the provider?
I dont mind loosing all the samsung apps, and the vodaphone ones, as they are pretty useless here.
Any advice on what is the best path to go from here is appreciated.
I bought this phone so i can learn to develop for android but im really new to this world.
Thanks
Search up goots tutorial. I think the CsC version just determines which stock apps get installed when you flash to be honest, I picked xeu because it's Europe generic but I dont think it matters
The froyo I had from goots link had multi CSC and you could pick and choose
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
You can use latest European version np. Im on it now but im from Europe but was on JPG 1 week ago and its from Asia. CSC is what gives you your APN for data traffic and the keyboard languages included but u can swap that easily using the Romkitchen or u can input your provider data manualy. Modem is your wifi, data network and gps driver you can use any the one from JS8 is very good so is JPG one. With modem its possible that with JQ1 u cant acces the 850mhz band immediatly but there are allreadu solutions to fix that on this forum.
Best advice i can give u is follow this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=926399
If u have more questions join us on IRC:
Server: chat.freenode.net

Thanks for the help, i will go through the goots tutorial as advised also ill read the Perka's link posted.
And for sure ill join IRC, thanks for the help ill be going through this process along the day (it's morning here)

SM-N910F Official ROMs MEGA links

All ROMs are downloaded from live.samsung-updates.com.
They were extracted and archived again for better compression, resulting in slightly less .rar size.
Of course, you can flash whichever ROM you feel like. All European phones can have a ROM from any European country without triggering KNOX. My Note is running BOC5 AUT (Swiss) although its region is EUR (Greece).
Will try to keep it updated as much as I can.
I will upload only country ROMs, not providers ROMs. For example, I will not upload TNL (Netherlands T-Mobile), I will upload only PHN (Netherlands).
Only provider ROM I will be uploading is a newer version that is not available in unbranded ROMs.
BOC5
ATO (Austria)
BTU (UK)
CYV (Cyprus)
ITV (Italy)
LUX (Luxemburg)
AUT (Switzerland)
NEE (Nordic Countries)
TPH (Portugal)
PHN (Netherlands)
PHE (Spain)
EUR (Greece)
Can you help me or give me a link with differences from BOC3 and BOC5?
I wish to know if BOC5 worth flashing.
Thank you in advance.
Sent from my SM-N910F using XDA Free mobile app
Unfortunately, there is no change log. All you can do is read here and there in XDA to see what people report in. One thing that I noticed though from BOC3 to BOC5, is that the silent function, now has the option to disable vibration too. You can press it 2 times instead of one. 1 it gets silent with vibration only and the 2nd it gets silent with no vibration.
Perfect...thanks Shadowjump.
I have updated my Note 4 to BOC5. Interestingly I was unable to update with the O2 rom. This BTU build worked!
Thanks for sharing, what i notice is BOC5 got amazing battery consumption much better than BOC3
Either version uploaded to Mega Boc5 takes 4 files, to put him on the pit odin ??
Thankkkss!!!

Samsung sometimes shows a version with 4 holders for odin files, such as:
View attachment 3284155
.Not if I explain well, or that these files are the need to create yourself.

If I understood correctly, the question is if I used these files to create the ROM files. No, the ROMs I have listed are downloaded from samsung-updates.com only. Also, I have never downloaded any rom from samsung-updates or sammobile that has 5 files inside the rar. Only file in the rar is the ROM. This is what you flash.
You can also send me a PM in Spanish if you want. Hablo Espaniol.
For those not knowing how to install. i came from stock unrooted kitkat:
extract .rar.
Download Odin (i used 3.10.6) , click on "AP" and select the .tar.md5 file from the rar archive. Wait for the md5 check to finish. reboot your phone in download mode (vl down + home + power ) . press volume up, connect phone to PC and click on start in odin when the phone is detected. then wait for the process to finish and don't unplug the cable before everything is finished. after the phone rebooted i made a factory reset in the settings to make sure everything is clean.
more detailed and better written instructions on sammobile, just select the rom (for example ATO 5.0.1 ) for your device and click it. scroll down and see instructions + odin download link.
After flash using PDA in odin is necesary flash moden or another thing?? Thanks in avanced

Is there any confirmation of these ROMs working on Sprint models? Which Rom would you recommend for a Sprint user? Btw, my name's spam, new to the forum and Android and rooting in General.
Hello
it will error on the XEF rom. These ireland rom the version that appears. Not France
Are you sure Walid54? Why would it error? All ROMS work on any European phone. I have an English ROM in a Greek CSC phone.
The version I have for XEF is this: http://live.samsung-updates.com/det..._4_Snapdragon/SM-N910F/XEF/N910FXXU1BOC5.html
It is directly from samsung-updates.com
yes I'm sure. Its makes me MET Ireland. Not XEF France

Change Csc GW3 italy

Hello everybody
i bought a gw3 on amazon but it went from east europe. now i want to change csc, but where can i find an update combination file for GW3 SM-R850? or can i use the old combination file with the new firmaware?
Warning!
Old files could be obsolete because can brick SM-R850.
Try to find latest Combination Firmware AND Stock Firmware.

Can you check Firmware from your SM-R850?
To identify which Firmware Version is on Device...
Easiest IMHO is to enter this Code:
*#1234#
As example...
http://fota-cloud-dn.ospserver.net/firmware/ITV/SM-R850/version.xml
R850XXU1BUD1/R850OXA1BUD1
BUD1 seems latest for ITV...
Notify Update
doc.samsungmobile.com
Best Regards

Maybe somebody could help with these files:
COMBINATION-FT55_R850XXU1AUA3.tar.md5
and
R850XXU1BUAB
Maybe B is wrong maybe 8

Hi,
I'm also looking for R850XXU1BUD1/R850OXA1BUD1.
I'm not quite sure what your example mean, the website doesn't seem to work: http://fota-cloud-dn.ospserver.net/firmware/ITV/SM-R850/version.xml
Mine is currently
AP : R850XXU1ATF3
CP : No Phone
CSC: R850OXA1ATF3
Region : XSP
Why do I lose the ability to auto update?
Thanks,

Question Changing CSC only with Odin?

Hello
If I want to change my CSC (MID) to another one let's say the UAE one, can I simply flash Home CSC in Odin?
If yes should I follow the same step as flashing an entire FW ?
And can I find the Home CSC alone or I have to download the full FW Zip?

HOME_CSC does not change the CSC code, you would use the other CSC firmware file.
However, mixing firmware files from different versions or regions is not advisable.
Sadly and to the best of my knowlege it is no longer possible to change CSC using ODIN & flashing just a stock Samung FW pack.
You need to buy credits and use an online service (Samkey?) to change CSC on Samsung phones now.
I've changed CSC from VOD (uk) to XID (Indonesia, for native call recording) with Odin without wipe anything. I only flashed stock XID firmware with home_csc and it works without Samkey

Xid is not from multi csc, it's single csc.
But how about to change first to to XID and then to the wanted CSC Region ?

Yes it will work I think. I changed with DBT to XID and today I flash DBT back and I have DBT. So I think different countries should change as follows. And I don't have to use samkey
i have downloaded a full firmware for my s20 plus 5g Korean version, and i also downloaded the full firmware of s20 plus from the Philippines. i want to change my csc to Philippines using Odin. should i check all the file inside the s20 plus firmware from the philippines or just the CSC file only? then the rest is from my s20 plus 5g firmware file
