Z3 Compact from Docomo Japan (SO-02G) - NFC firmware update Failed (-1) - Xperia Z3 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Are there any known issues when flashing a Docomo branded Z3c (SO-02G) with the generic FW (D5803)?
As usual after resetting the phone it tries to update the NFC firmware. But that fails with "NFC firmware update Failed (-1)".
Is this a known phenomenon? Is the Docomo version any different than the generic one?

I attempted to install Android 6.0.1, and after two days I have not seen any problems. Only nfc. Does not work

The nfc still works outside Japan and without using docomo uim. Try to update using Wi-Fi to latest firmware using OTA

No, it won't work with D5803 version

Any Japanese SO-02G with D5803 firmware won't have NFC usable. If you want to use NFC, then buy an original non-Japanese Z3C handset and you can change its OS to UK, US or Global without facing any problem.
Btw is the problem still there with Z5, X Compact and other latest models made for Japanese DOCOMO Network or is it just Z3?

Hey guys you know you can downgrade your z3c with out unlocking the boot loader of device. Yes it really works. I downgraded my own device from mm 6.0.1 to lp 5.1.1 and it really works and much better battery ? timing now even with nfc firmware update failed on my docomo...
You can download lp 5.1.1 from here.
Xperiablog.net/forums
And enjoy...
One more thing. You can downgrade any Xperia device without unlocking the bootloader. Not just z3 compact only...

I need help. I wanna know that is it possible to disable nfc on my Xperia z3c docomo without rooting the device.
It's root procedure is so complicated and some says that it can't be root without unlocking the bootloader which manufacturer didn't allow on this device....

Yes. Just install the Sony PC Companion software and plug it in your computer and it should just prompt to update.

It hasn't been released for the T-Mobile C6606 yet. The only way at this point is to use flashtool to flash a generic 6603 ftf

By updating you lose WiFi calling and gain the battery bug. I personally flashed back to 4.1.2.
Has anyone tested a 4.3 rom on a c6606?

hmm....i don't believe any of them can be installed with a locked bootloader since you have to install a boot.img after the rom.
As far as I know all c6606 are locked and unlocking is not allowed. If anyone knows otherwise and knows of any genuine services that unlock the boot loader I would love to know.

Hello, the reason I need the old firware is because my phone is in a bootloop and can't use the phone at all so I can't enable unknown sources or activate usb debugging which is what I need to root, I remember that with this old firmware I could still access the phone, I'm new to all this so it is confusing for me. This xperia phone is a pain inthe***.

[HELP] Xperia Z T-Mobile to KitKat

Hi, I have a xperia z T-Moble (c6606) , but i´m living in mexico, its sim unlocked, and i want to upgrade it to 4.4 kitkat, i have tried to upgrade it via OTA and PC Companion, but the upgrade dont appear, i thought upgrading via flashtool but, i dont know what rom can i use, could someone give me a hand with it? thank you
i have found this one, but i dont know if it works for my device and my location

Ask in the thread, or in Q&A, don't clog up the general with these simple question threads. But yes, follow the tutorials (Pro-tip: Use the search function! It's super useful!) for flashtool and flash any ftf from any region, some have different apps pre-installed etc. you can use them from any region. I bought a UK sim-free Xperia Z and I've flashed Taiwanese, German and Belgian ftf's.
No harm in trying, just make backup before. I'm on c6606 but in US and have always flashed UK or EU branded and they worked fine I just had to input my APNs for cell coverage.

Pm me so i can tell you what to do in spanish
I called t mobile US today. They have me the run around of we are testing it. Then the lay just stopped talking after I said most other TMo around the world have released it as had the generic US. The lay wouldn't give me an ETA. Then she didn't want to talk to me when I mentioned they missed several 4.3 versions.
All in all, I wouldn't wait on them. Wait for a pre rooted on here and go for it.

C6006 user here. From experience, there's not much difference between C6606 and C6603 firmware beside the band and customization.
Download the lastest FTF, make sure its for C6603, and flash.
As a precaution, tick "Baseband" when flashing.
I think you should try Canadian Bell?

How to flash ftf(downloaded using xperiafirm) file using flash tool for Xperia Z3 plus.
Since flashtool has no device info and not listed. Is there any other flash tool for the Z3 plus?
I used the flashtool which version is 0.9.18.6,and I flash it successfully.I remember that any xperia firm can be flashed by this tool.Your way may be wrong:there is no need to choose the device, you can do it again.

According to the following thread it doesn't compitable with Z3+ yet. You will be unable to unlock your bootloader after using it. He will soon upload another version which is compitable with Z3+ / Z4..

Z3 Docomo Compact SO-O2g ROMs ? or convert to D5803

I would like to convert my SO-O2g to D5803 or flash some custom roms to it.
I don't care about NFC working or not.
So how do I go on about it? Convert to D5803 and flash roms?
I heard some issues about NFC draining the battery when converted to international variant
Please advise

I got the same phone 2 days ago and flashed it with UK Customized firmware. It's working fine, battery timing is also good but NFC won't work as Japanese SO-02G is different from D5803 made for rest of the world. I'm sorry I won't be able to help you with flashing but just remember one advice, be careful with flashing one wrong step could brick your device as it happened to me but I managed to recover And try to find the latest 6.0 Marshmallow version for D5803 model

Missing NFC setting on SOV39 running H8416 firmware

Hi guys,
I have an SOV39 and I flashed H8416 latest firmware. Everything is working good except that the NFC setting has been missing in the Settings. (It shows label NFC Setting but there is nothing)
Have anyone know how to fix?
I intent to flash H9493 firmware to see if NFC setting is there but I am not sure it will brick my phone or not.
Please help!
You can try a custom rom, the other stock firmware or the sov firmware.
But I think no one knows an answer about this exotic configuration.
The sov xperias are only in Japan.

I wish I could try a custom rom, since mine is not allowed to unlock bootloader
So, as you mentioned that I can try H9493 on my SOV39, right?
I have no clue, but do you have any choice?
Ok thanks for your suggestions. I think I will flash the H9493 fw. Hope it wilk not brick my phone. ?
Good news, it won't brick my phone, bad news, still no NFC setting, even worse, no cellular signal.
?
So just back to SOV39 stock firmware and stick with that.
Or sell it and buy the international version [emoji14]
Haha good idea. But I've just bought it a week ago
A good time to sell it back
install sov39 52.1.c.0.192 rom this work nfc and wirles charge after thas install patch global oem xz3 and instal app hidden setting and change lte after that 4g worck i tested on my phone and worck ith orange in morocco
