[Fix] Weak or no radio signal: Caused by bad or loose connection - MTCB Android Head Units General

Hello guys.
I might have a solution for thse who have radio problems:
I opened the upper cover of my unit and I saw that the antenna cable was not connected to the antenna socket. So basically, it was like not having an antenna at all. After soldering it, I have no problems at all with the radio. You can check for this, it might solve your problem .

@R4D3N:
Do you
- receive more stations ?
- have a better sound (e.g. enough treble commpared to mp3 sound) ?
- have no noise at stereo reception ?
Could you make a picture from your soldering and mark it in picture ? Thanks.

Was it completely loose ? Can u please make some photo's of it ?

My unit is for BMW E46.
I moved the GPS Antenna connector to the right side, otherwise it wouldn't fit in the dashboard.
I upgraded the firmware to V2.02 version + MCU V2.01: great 3g connection, stable WiFi, all buttons works, illumination works but is active all the time.
About the problem with the radio, I opened my unit and I saw that the ground of the radio antenna wasn't connected so I soldered it. Now I receive almost all radio stations, but they have more bass than the songs from the USB for example.
In Radio app, if Stereo is selected I get static sound, but if I switch to MONO, all the static goes away.
In the bottom of my post you'll see a picture of it.
While I was looking inside it, I saw that the wireless antena is just a wire. I am now thinking at a solution for building a proper antenna.

So the seller reluctantly canceled the order for the KGL unit I placed, and now Aliexpress is automatically canceling all the orders I make and requesting I provide scans of my DL and credit card. I dont want to do that. I ordered a Klyde unit on Tmart via paypal. No experience with Tmart, no clue how long it will be to ship. When I bought my GS unit on Ali I had it in my hands like 3 days later :crying:

I see you have a Golf MK6 variant. Does your car have the dual fakra antenna? How is your radio reception on the HuiFei, and what antenna adapter are you using?
Edit: Nevermind, found your old post. You describe my radio problems exactly. I've tried 3 antenna adapters. I ordered the Klyde unit to see if it's any better with our car (different radio IC in the Klyde).

Did you read the post a few pages back that said that when the unit was opened the aerial was not connected ? Could this be the reason you had radio probs ?

Thanks for being patient as I was not specific enough and used confusing terms.
I failed to receive proper answer from seller, but found another seller with quite similar unit (Rockchip RK3066) and managed to get screenshot showing MCU: MTCB-KLD-V.1.96. Should I expect this to be Klyde-unit?

Does anyone see any issues this headunit being only 1U and 8" screen being separate. Should I expect troubles with compability with devices and programs discussed in this thread as I'm thrilled what people has been able to pull out from their devices so far and I would like to do so as well.
I'm just maybe me being over caution about this, but so far all devices discussed here, that I have seen, has been 2U HU with integrated display.

I m sorry I dont really understand your query, is it not clear from looking at the photos how the unit fits ? Is it not clear that this unit is definitely "integrated" (ie one piece), albeit not in the usual double DIN case, but in a custom made moulding for your car ? What problems would any of this likely give you ?
If you read the first post you will see that KLD means a Klyde unit and that ALL types are RK3066.

No, I've taken my unit apart in the past (no photos) and there were no obvious problems. The antenna was attached and well grounded to the metal cage around the radio ic.

Hi folks! this weekend my radio (ES9746A KGL) the sound of radio stations from one moment to the other has begun to fail and catch bad radio stations and sounding as if in a tunnel he was, and decided to open the radio and see that is what happened and looking everywhere I meet a copper tape was broken, vibration of the car? but I decide tin solder tape and move the wireless cable and try to isolate the wires with electrical tape, I leave a couple of pictures:
sometimes stations in stereo has static noise or interference that disabling in mono stopped doing, it now in stereo gets limpid and more powerful signal and the typical tunnel effect disappeared, if anyone else has this problem here are how to solve

The problem with more BASS (more likely - LACK OF HIGH FREQUENCY) is due to bad design of high pass filter on some units. There is only one way to solve that.. You have to change 2 capacitors from the radio tuner audio filter. If you cant solder get a technician to do it for you...just follow this thread

USB to 3.5mm Audio Adapter - The good and bad

I bought one of those little adapters on ebay, such as the one you can see here: Link
Couple of things:
- Music - it now sounds brilliant through my personal headphones - the ones that come in the box with the diamond are indeed complete rubbish. But that was fairly obvious anyway. I'm impressed with the quality of the diamond now.
- Taking calls. Now we have a BIG PROBLEM. When a call comes through, the audio is routed through to my headphones as you would expect. But the problem is that the diamond must think there is a microphone attached as well, as noone can hear me speak until I pull the headphones out of the diamond and it's internal mic kicks in!! Then when the call is ended the music starts blasting out of the speaker of the diamond while I'm madly trying to plug the headphones back in, amidst getting all sorts of annoyed looks from people next to me on the tram that WERE sleeping until I woke them up..... Woops
Does anybody know a workaround for this? How can I make the diamond think there is NO microphone plugged in when I'm using the headphones?? Will I have to short some pins on the connector...? Anyone have the pin layout for the 11 pin HTC connector? Or is there an easier way.... Help from the experienced is appreciated. Cheers.
OK so here are the pinouts:

So it would seem that 'disabling' pins 7 and 12 on the adapter might do the trick.... Or maybe they already are disabled on some of the adapters out there..
It's going to be hard to do on such a small thing... Does anyone know a way to trick the OS or disable it in the registry somehow??

Have you try this adpater to listen to radio without the headphone. By plugging in this and set the radio to speaker phone.
what about that ??
you can plug any 3.5 headphones you want, it works for the fm radio, and you have a mic so you can talk when receiving a call without having to do the unplug replug acrobatic move you used to ....

Hm... I plugged in mine (I use the RC e100), and somehow all other headphones (also high quality one) I have are all worse then the one within the box =( very annoying, as the the htc headphones are far to big and ugly =(
Also the whole audio stuff is poor on the diamond - I read s.th. of an audio booster bug, but no way to cure it =(
What have you done to have such a good qualtity?
Thanks for all of your replies.
I ended up going with the RC E100 as you suggested and some other people here seem to think they work well. Well, they definitely do!
I've plugged my Sony's into them and they sound awesome. Really impressed with the audio quality now. Just have to figure out where to hide all the cable!! 2 metres + hiding inside my jacket! Might have to get the scissors and soldering iron out and re-work it...
The only problem is that the supplied driver with the RCE100 does not install on the diamond, or maybe its a problem that I'm using Vista with Windows Mobile Device Centre instead of Windows XP with Activesync. I will try and install the CAB file manually.
The Play/FF/RW on the headset only controls the built-in audio player in TouchFLO 3D, need to figure out how to make it work with Core Player.... And to answer you question Basthet, it sounds much better with Core Player, no audio booster bug, it has built in pre-amp and also equalizer and you can make your music sound very very nice with it. Highly recommended. It does not cure the little skip you hear in audio tracks; it is now clear this is an Operating System/Hardware issue.
I know that acrobatic move that you speak of, and it made me laugh to see that I'm not the only one running into that problem. Happened to me while official exams were being held in the classroom nearby, nearly got me expelled.

FM-Transmitter

hi there, I'm looking for a good fm-transmitter to use with my hd2. I use a lot of different cars during the day due to work and the only car that has a line-in is my own. I can't change anything about those cars because they are not mine.
Now I need a fm-transmitter to use my hd2 in those cars. Who has one or had one and can recommend one. I read a lot about ****ty quality and bad reception, that's why I'm asking you guys. and the one limitation is that I don't want one to plug into the car-charger. the one I have my eye on is the Belkin TuneCast 2/3.
I hope you can help me chose a good one.
After some siginificant research, and some very disappointing results with cheap chinese FM transmitters, I bought my wife a Motorola T505, see here:
http://video.google.co.uk/videosear...orola+55+handsfee+fm&vid=-4588731908718964954
Very easy to set up and use, and the sound quality is very good. Battery life is also good although it can be connected to a car charger via it's mini usb (and we all have loads of them lying about now HTC have gone micro, right?). it's well made and just feels quality right out of the box.
All, in all, I'm very happy with the result, especially as it knocks the others for six costwise.
what i would like is something similar to this

so that I can simply unplug it from my own car and straight into the works van and keep it charged with minimal fuss.
My friend has one like this for his ipod and it works great.
Has anyone seem anything similar? or is it too early for products like this to be released yet
I'm using http://www.chronos.com.tw/_products_0616/mp3/Car mp3-delux/Car mp3-delux.htm for 3 years, first with usb stick, later with WM phones.
Just need to switch usb mode on phone to "storage card/disk drive" and you get music from memery card + car charger.
Sound quality is as good as normal fm radio station. Worse than cd/mp3 car player, but usefull for multiple cars.
I am using this motorola motorokrt505 bluetooth fm transmitter it works seamlessly with LEO and Xperia X1 music and phone. It will answer calls and switch between songs in your play list, it will even start your HTC music player without going into the phones menu. Battery life on it is superb I charge it once a week and have never ran out of battery.
http://www.motorola.com/consumers/v...57bb110VgnVCM1000008406b00aRCRD&vgnextnoice=1
I ordered a Belkin Tunecast II and will report back soon. It's enough for my usage and it should do the trick, hope the quality is ok.
I have been using the Venturi Mini http://www.myventuri.com/overview.aspx for a while now with my iPhone and it works brilliantly - A2DP stereo bluetooth, a USB connector to enable you to charge your HD2 and it does handsfree calling.
I have been impressed with the sound quality (once you've found an FM channel that is free all the way from home to work). It connects to your phone reliably and simply - press any button when you get in the car and it pairs.
The only problem I have had with it is if you go out of range of it for a short period of time (If you leave for a long period it turns itself off) - when you return to your car it doesn't automatically pair. But you simply have to remove it briefly from the cigarette and push it back in
de5perate,
If I may ask a few questions:
1. Do you use the Venturi to charge your HD2? I believe it only delivers 500mA on the USB, and I'm not sure that's enough to charge the HD2. I wouldn't want to buy one only to find out that I can't charge my HD2.
2. Do you use your Venturi and HD2 for satnav as well? If so, are you happy with the combination?
3. Somebody told me that you could listen to your favourite radio station and when a call comes through, the radio automatically commutes to the Venturi frequency and you can take the call. Is this true?
Thank you very much.
I got the Jabra SP700 yesterday (£34 from Amazon). Only had one journey with it and a quick play, but it seems good so far. The FM transmitter seems nice and strong, and the speakerphone seems to work well.
got my tunecast II today and had the chance to test it with two standalone fm-radios and it seems to work fine, given you place it in a good position towards the antenna. will have a try tomorrow in my car at work, a new VW Passat. Hope it works there as well.

+1 for wanting to know this also. This looks like a good piece of kit.
Also what connection comes out of the unit to charge the HD2? USB?

the HD2 charges from a PC USB connection, there's an option to disable it when sync'[d, so it must do. USB only provides 500ma, so it should be charge, although it might be a little slower than from a mains charger.
The Answer is late, but could be useful for other users

The only problem is the backround noise being too loud. It is hissing.

music from hd2 to car stereo........how ?

hey guys, i've recently started a new job which involves a lot of driving, listening to the radio all the time gets quiet dull so my question is.....is there a way to listen to music stored on my phone through the car stereo at all....?. please tell me theres a way.....
cheers.
Hey mate! Yes there is a way to play music to your radio; if your radio supports "AUX" or "Bluetooth".
A cheap way though is this:
You need this to plug in your HD2 with the radio:
It's a cord that has 3,5mm Jack on both sides.

A radio with AUX support:
There are some cheap Branded or Chinese radios that support this feature.
I personally have a JVC with "Aux" feature in my VW.
If your radio don't have "AUX" support then i am out of ideas!
Firstly, congrats on the new job
If the job involves lots of driving like mine does, then chances are the company will pay for a bluetooth hands free kit, as if they expect you to talk while on the road they cannot expect you to always pull over, and certainly can't expect you to drive whilst holding the phone (£60 fine and 3 points doesn't go down well).
I've got a Jabra SP700 which is great, clips to the sun visor, uses the same USB connector as the HD2 to charge, and has a built in FM transmitter.
People hear me clearly, and they sound loud and clear to me.
Has a long battery life in use and on standby.
When someone calls it reads out the phone number, but other models will actually transmit the number using RDS so you'll get it up on the head unit.
Dude he want's to listen music from his HD2 on the car radio.
He don't need any Jabra stuff! lol

It's an option, and a bloody good one as driving in the UK whilst using your phone without handsfree can lead you to 3 points on your licence (increases your insurance premium in many cases) and a £60 fine. Plus many head units don't have an aux in, so FM transmitter is the only way.
Many businesses need drivers with clean licences for their corporate insurance so points can mean unemployment.
That's another important point (not normally an issue if the company provides the car and insurance), make sure you have business use on your insurance, most come with social/domestic/commuting to your usual place of work, and will add business use for no extra charge (or just an admin fee).
Here's a decent purchase for £11 if you're going to be driving a lot with the HD2. Windscreen mount that doesn't wobble, screen protectors, rubber bump cases (clear and black), stylus, charger, leather case.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=310314688415
Great choice dude!
That spring loaded 3.5mm jack you posted definitely would be perfect where the head's got an aux socket.
Getting audio to your car
If your car stereo doesn't have Aux inputs or Bluetooth there are still a few ways to get audio from your phone.
1. A portable FM wireless transmitter (Quality isn't that great)
2. You can get an adapter box that plugs into the antenna jack on the back of your stereo and transmits the audio as a FM signal. Most automotive stores seem to have fairly cheap ones and they are better quality than the wireless FM transmitter. I've one in my Echo that i picked up for only $15 Australian.
3. You can get an adapter that plugs into the CD input port on the back of many stereos and then your phone shows up as a 'CD player'. I used to have one in my old car from GROM (gromaudio.com). It worked very well as an Aux input. They now have more models but they seem to have better intergration with iPhones
I would also like to try it with the "double aux port"
So i need to run my music app and the music is directly available over my radio? o0
If your car HU has USB support, then make sure your HD2 loads USB mass storgae when it detects a usb cable. Then you can use your HU to change folders/tracks and not touch the HD2 at all.
thanks for all the replys guys but it looks like im screwed. the stereo has no aux and im not too sure the company would be too happy for me to start ripping it out to add things in the back of it......gutted. i might have to go down the fm jabra or whatever it is route, how bad can i expect the sound to be...?. i've seen this but dunno....any thoughts..?

I thought of the same thing and I was surprised that this suggestion only came in the 2nd page. Well it's probably because new cars don't use cassette players any more, but I still think there a lots of cars with them.
Good luck and let us know which option did you choose.

Looks good to me, has more control over the HD2 than my one does in that you should be able to use the buttons on the Cruiser to pause/play/next/last etc. It may actually read out the names from your address book too rather than just the numbers like mine does. And it's cheaper than mine
why didn`t you use an usb, it`s easyer as with the htc

[Q] Galaxy tab OEM car dock detailed pics request ECS-V980BEG / ECS-V980BEGSTA

Hi everyone...
So, I have a request. Can someone take some good pics of the OEM car dock swivel components? I was thinking about buying to modify it and integrate it to my jeep on the dash, but I want to make sure it has all the components i would need and that they would work.
(i really dont want to suction cup / windshield mount. - it does not look right and blocks view on a wrangler... So im going to make a custom bracket to host infront of the vents. see attachment)
Im very curious about the mounting and swivel plate. is it independent from the arm assembly? Looking here: http://www.mp3car.com/worklogs/147525-2009-altima-dash-mount-android-tablet-pc-6.html This image in particular:

Did you get any joy on this?
Does the car dock have it's own 3.5 audio out port (there's conflicting information around on this).

So hacking a standard desk dock may be a better play and doing a custom mount of some description.....
I want to feed the audio up to my ICE system.
On a related note does anyone know if there's 'selective' audio routing.....
i.e. Music and Nav audio to stereo via 3.5 jack and phones to bluetooth headset.

Yes hacking up the current mount would be cheaper than buying ram mount components. and smaller profile. I switched to a galaxy tab 8.9 so im not longer looking into this one...
As for your audio question, Im not sure what an ICE system is... but, the galaxy tab 7 does support a2dp. So you can have satelite nav software, and music outputting to something like this:
http://www.amazon.com/BlackBerry-60...RN18/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1318624547&sr=8-4
Picture is almost actual size.
It connects to your radio's line in. Powered by 5v usb. Sounds very clear in my experience. I cant tell the difference between CD and this. Less wires hanging from your tab.
I have not read if it supports multiple paired devices.
Hopefully that answers your question.
Sorry ICE is 'In Car Entertainment', currently I have a DAB headunit with built in amp that has a Line in, what I was thinking of doing was feeding the 3.5 output on the Desktop Dock (after I've taken it apart) up to the line in on the headunit (I can never remember if 3.5 output works as an input to Line In?).
I'm looking at using a RAM-HOL-TAB2 and custom mounting a disassembled Desktop Dock to it. The nice thing about this is they have a quick release so I can move it to other places if I need to.
I was thinking more of software routing on the TAB, i.e. All audio would go out to the Headunit except when the phone rings the audio would mute and the phone call would route to the Bluetooth headset.

RAM-HOL-TAB2 looks rather interesteing.
What's DAB?
As for call routing to phone while everything else plays it is possible.
I have a cobra CB unit in my jeep that does bluetooth. All my music gets routed to the black berry bluetooth receiver, and any calls get routed to the CB unit. It should be no different for a bluetooth head set / mic i wouldn't think. All I had to do was pair the the devices and it set it self up.
If a call comes in, the music stops, and I answer the call through the cobra CB - call plays through CB (not stereo system) and I talk through CB mic.

Hi to all,
I just noticed that the Tab s8 x700 EUR has all the hardware to use cellular, but has no modem partition defined. I have looked with a magnifying glass and all pins are in the tray, and has all the antennas, photo attached, now I tried to falsh it with the x706b software and the pit file that comes with it, but RQT closed by Qualcomm. As we know the Gen1 has a built in 5G modem and so one… My suspicion is that the x700 and x706 are completely identical just without a modem partition… could we flash it with a x706 rom, maybe from TWRP??
Im willing to offer my tab as a test device.
So anyone???
P.s.
In test menu when you try to check for IMEI number it says that the device is not set to show the information...why not display non IMEI associated to device....

One question, are you 100x100 sure that the Tab s8 wifi have an internal modem like the 5g versions?
Not 100% sure but very close....why put the antennas then and not the modem itself? Looked with the magnifying glass and should be there..but i didn't opened it. Moreover, the firmware is set to not display the imei and not to tell there isn't one...all to suspicious...
I am not sure who to direct my question too, however I have the SM X700 Tab s8 but my problem is with the USB-C output and Bluetooth. More specifically I cannot get the Bluetooth to output audio to a Bluetooth USB headset or any Bluetooth device for that matter, however the device and the S8 'is' connected, it's just that the audio remains on the S8.
Can anyone in this forum help me with a solution to this problem? It will be greatly appreciated.
Seems nobody on this forum has a problem as the one I describe, I was hoping that someone might have been able to help me.
I guess I will have to try Samsung... Directly...

you will need to start a thread with your issue in the title so the entire community can see it if you want help. I have same tablet and bluetooth works out of the box with my AZ09 earhooks, no special setting or adjustments.

I am in Trinidad and Tobago and I don't think there is a Samsung service center here. I believe that something is definitely wrong with the tablet as I stated earlier, it's connecting to the Bluetooth headsets but the audio remains on the tablet it does not transfer to the headphone or any Bluetooth receiver I would appreciate any help in solving this problem. The tablet works very well overall except the Bluetooth problem.

Have you try any other bluetooth device if connect to s8?
Have you try connect your phone to the specific bluetooth headset? Perhaps it's the headset problem.
If the headset is connecting to your phone, and s8 is connecting to other bluetooth devices but not to this headset, i would did a factory reset.

This really needs it's own thread with the problem in the title. The only people that see this are the ones looking at this thread, if you start a new one more people will see it.
