Questions regarding CM for Razr i - RAZR i Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I have some question regarding Hazou's CM port for the XT890:
Why is there no official CM for the Razr i? (There seem to be CM port's for practically every other Moto phone)
What does it mean that the port is "inofficial" as opposed to "official"?
Is the source code of the CM port publicly available?
Thanks in advance!
Cheers

1. Because I am not an official maintainer and the device needs external patches to be fully functional
2. See 1
3. Yep, the cyanogenmod sources are on github and mine as well. U can make a perfect copy on your device if u use the cyanogenmod sources with parts of my sources.

[Q] CyanogenMod 11 and AOSP ROMs for titan ?

Hey guys, this is my first thread but let me get to the point.
So about some time ago, I saw that CyanogenMod and other complicated ROMs couldn't be built on the G 2014. And the major issue, so I was thinking, was the kernel not being open-sourced (which is now true, thanks Motorola) and the fact that because the device was so "new", there wasn't any "device tree" which I refer myself as basically drivers for the phone. I saw that people were having issues building off AOSP ROMs because of display issues and stuffz. But since Today, I saw a new device tree for titan which is this one by somcom3x ( github[dot]com/somcom3x/android_device_motorola_titan ) and it seems pretty great to me. Now, I ain't a developer or anything and I'm really new to all that Android stuff but I wanted to ask now, what is retaining developers to not port CyanogenMod and/or build more ROMs. I'm sure it's because the phone is kinda new but it's sad to see such low development on what should be the successor of the great, popular 2013 Moto G.
Thanks guys ^^
We want ROMS ...please DEVS do something
We are all waiting for this. I think there are not ROMs because Lollipop its about to be released. Why make a KK ROM when in a month or two almost anybody would use it. I'm really anxious to hear from Lollipop ROMs for this device. There are a few stock ROMs but none for my variant xt1063

Guess we can only pray for Lollipop AOSP ROMs and CM 12 then
Maybe we can request The Cyanogenmod team to make CM Builds for titan, but The lack of ROMs is probably due to The lollipop release.

I hope so, if not, i may have to return to the nexus line sooner than i thought
it's easy to make a CM Build for titan, since Moto G 1st Gen has the same hardware And already have some builds. if anyone can create a thread in the CM forum requesting CM Team to support our device, it would be great.

Makes no sense to me since there are a large number of users (myself included) who are not interested in upgrading to Lollipop. I have yet to find ANY compelling reason for doing so.
So speaking for myself, I would be extremely interested in a Kit-Kat based custom ROM for the XT-1063. I am not a developer and do not have the required skill set to develop my own ROM. As it stands I guess I will stick to the rooted, stock version, and Furnace 1.1.2 kernel.
no one is going to make rom if that developer does not have any device to develop.
even though moto g 1st gen and 2nd gen share many hardware features ....they are not exactly the same devices.
kernel sources are vastly different...you need to make device tree and vendor tree .
i am waiting for lollipop update to make cm12 for this device.

its because they have all things set up in cm code. they mostly need to compile and upload the rom...that is no big....but when official lollipop is released ...the developers of moto g 1st gen have to make changes to device tree and vendor trees and may be kernel source too....so instead of having that i am waiting for official release for my xt1068 and then i am goning to make device and vendor tree to make cm12 for this device...little longer wait is always good than a impatient attempt to make a rom.

Thank you for clearing this for me bro, I was a bit confused and I thought that this phone is already dead. Although, I haven't bought it yet, I was afraid of the absence of custom ROMs when I would get it . Now, you gave me hope that devs will at least try to make CM for this device. Thank you.

Want Cyanogenmod 11 on your Titan?
Guys...
You wanted CM11 on your Titan?
Look here!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/orig-development/rom-cyanogenmod-11-t3024371
However... My issue is going back to CM12 Lollipop.
Kitkat is run on Dalvik. Lollipop uses ART.
Flashing directly (after wiping) from a KK based custom ROM, to a Lollipop based custom ROM could create issues.
Any answers please?
Hellow???

Regarding Official CM 12.1 Nightlies

I wanted to know if we are still Dependant on unified builds of CM or could we use the new CM 12.1 night lies..??
Because it says that its been de unified again for CM12 builds..
Any work around to avoid jbbl boot loader..
Help would be appreciated..
Forget about unified builds.. We not have a separate device tree for us and these builds are specific for our device. And yes, we are still on jb bootloader.. That shouldn't concern you.. It's not a big issue

I have clean flashed and dirty flashed de-unified CM 12.1 nightlies to my AHD with good results. If you haven't tried it yet, expect long first boot. Default install may lose root, but you probably know that root selection is in Developer options in Lollipop.

Will CM11 final build come to XSP?

We know XSP was moved to CM12.1 a short time ago, but what I want to know is if XSP will receive the final CM11 when rolls out.

since the official cm12.1 is here (actually marcl doing all the job and i feel cm team are not making that effort to our device )cm11 will no longer be updated for our device from cm site ...but any developer could always build a cm11 with the latest sources from cm11

[ALE-Lxx] Huawei P8lite Kernel Sources

In case you are not aware, here are the kernel sources for the Huawei P8lite. This means that you can now build CyanogenMod or custom kernels for this phone.
Downloads
ALE-L02/ALE-L21/ALE-L23
ALE-L04 (Old 4.4.4 Source)
After seeing the interest for CyanogenMod or a similar AOSP ROM, there is a guide here that shows you how to port CM to a new device. Unfortunately, I can't do it because I don't own the device but if you try, best of luck
If dd98 agrees, i would use this thread to discuss and collect info about how to compile an armv8a kernel for our phone.
By the way, if i run this command in the phone console:
uname -a
It says our stock kernel is for armv7l. Is it normal?
Has anybody already tried to compile from source? Any success?
Any further development on this?
@dd98 I have device and willing to port can you guide on how to do this?
I'm going to try enable USB OTG for B170 for ALE-L21.
Oh.. This is and old thread..
There are already some developers busy with development of custom roms for the Huawei P8 Lite.
There kernel and the source can already been build for android 5 and android 6.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/p8lite/general/kernel-boot-stock-android-6-0-t3344841
Cyanogenmod is for the moment a problem because of good vendor files.
For now only wifi is working on AOSP builds, as long that there is no RIL ( calling ) you can't do anything with the Custom rom.
I'm personally have buid a bootable rom with Omnirom.
Source for that rom you can find here : https://github.com/olrak2/android_device_huawei_alice/
Somebody tried enable usb otg?

Looking for CM Rom

Hi,
Since CM site closure, where can I find Official CM nightly rom ?
Are CM Rom compatible for Madagascar ?
Thank you for your help
Philbec
CyanogenMod is discontinued, there are no more updates. Unofficial releases can still be updated through the normal means, if the developer chooses to continue support. LineageOS is the new Cyanogen. It's available for most popular flagships and previous flagships. I don't think there's one for this phone. You can always look into compiling one yourself, though!
