[Q]How can I change the navbar buttons? - LG G Flex

Hi users.
Does anyone has an idea how to change the menu button on the navigation bar with the recent apps button??
Tried g2tweaksbox and when I enter the sub menu in settings to change the layout the settings app gives fc.
Anyone has any other idea or solution to change that button?
Thanks.

Not a total solution, but I don't use the softkeys.... I use pie controls. They stay hidden until you swipe from the bottom , left or right screen sides. With it you can have any button combos, color, size or actions.
Works awesome. Assuming your rooted and use xposed

You need Root permissions, besides the Xposed and module Xstana, next run Xstana and restart phone to changer, I have it installed on my LGL23 and working perfectly

Xstana module only themes your navigation bar and I need to replace the menu button not to theme it.

How can you move the softkeys from center to the far left?

i'd like my soft keys to be on the far left. it's a pain in the ass to navigate having to stretch my thumb so far to the middle.
i'm talking about home / back / recent apps button. what was asus thinking? its a 10.1 tablet.
also, would be awesome if the notification pull down bar was in a corner as well. anyway this is possible?

I used your method for unlocking and I installed xposed, but doesn't seem like anything happens when I switch settings in phab7.
Anu suggestions?
Have you enabled phab7 as a module in Xposed?
Sent from my K00C using Tapatalk

Install a launcher like APEX or NOva and then you can move it where ever you want. It's locked on the stock launcher.
Hey thanks a lot. Appreciate what you do for the community.

[Q] Enable capacitive buttons on CM11 (or reduce NavBar)

Hi all! I would like to know how to enable the capacitive keys on the s3 mini with cyanogenmod 11 (KitKat). it's a bit annoying using the navigation bar (qemu.hw.mainkeys=0).
they worked with the samsung firmware e they blink for 5-6 secs after boot.
(otherwise I would like to reduce the navigation bar)
I've also notice that I don't have this file: sec_touchkey.kl under /system/usr/keylayout
Thanks for the help.

You can also enable them with Gravity box xposed module & change the size too Or use carbon rom, it has a switch for navigation bar & size.

Don't understand you very well (nav bar buttons or physical buttons!?), anyway to change their behaviour go to, system settings-buttons & choose what function you want for them.

no....the don't work at all!!! i want their functions.
The only way to emulate them is the navigation bar but it was too big (with the GB I've resized it).
I wish someone tell me how to enable this buttons that worked with the original firmware.
I already told you in the previous posts how to change their functions & how to disable or change the backlight.
I am also having this problem and there is no option in settings to enable/disable this buttons. Like edoz90 said, the buttons worked perfectly on the stock rom.

[Q] AOKP nav bar buttons on stock

Is there any way to add extra buttons to the nav bar in stock (.283) like you can in AOKP, Carbon, etc.? I don't even need all of them, just the last app button. There are some apps that do this by adding a floating button (LAS), but I want it on my nav bar. UDN doesn't work right, and doesn't let me customize the buttons for some reason. The only other way I've found is to decompile the SystemUI, but I'd rather not do something that risky if there's an alternative. I was on Carbon for a long time and I really loved this feature, but I need the battery life that stock gives. I've found Xposed modules for everything else I'm used to, this is the only thing missing. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

use gravity box and add custom key to get it!
:good:
I've tried that, and it's not suitable for several reasons. First off, GB causes layout problems in the recents panel, making the small apps inaccessible. No matter what I toggle, it doesn't go away unless I disable GB. Also, the button appears to the extreme side; I was hoping to get it as a main nav button, like in the custom ROMs.
Looks like I might have to decompile after all. Oh, well. Thanks for your reply, though!
I used this xposed module on sock 4.3 for modify navbar buttons:
Xperia/AOSP NavBar Buttons
I don't know is it working on 4.4 or not. I am using Carbon at the moment.

This is a known bug in the latest GravityBox version. Download the ”no_translucent_recent” version from this post.

You might not even need a separate button — with GravityBox you can assign actions to the long press of the “Recent Apps” button, and to the long press and double tap of “Back” and “Home” buttons. There is also the “Navigation Bar Ring” feature (you can add more actions than just Google Now).
@kanyazsombor
That module doesn't have a last app button. Thanks anyway!
@sigprof
Long press takes too long, and double tap on anything other than the recent key for a recent app feels... Wrong. Picky, I know, but still. I hadn't thought of using the nav bar ring targets, will try that as soon as I can, and the bug fix you mentioned. Thanks for your help!

Hide soft keys

If anybody is wanting to use lmt pie and hide the soft keys for good, the tried and true method still works. Add qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 to the bottom of your build.prop and voila.
Thanks. Nice to have the extra screen space.

Don't have my phone yet, but if you disable the soft keys, how do get to the home screen from within any app (since the back and home keys are the soft keys)?

If you're using LMT then just add a menu button to the pie.
So I disabled my navigation bar and also lost the menu option in some apps. I found an app called All In One Gestures on the PS and it works very well.

Thanks! I was using something else for PIE that did not have a menu option. I switched to LMT and now all is well.
This is by and far the best app for this:

Can also swipe up to unhide and set options etc.. Use in combination with LMT

I'm using this too and really enjoying it. The extra screen real estate is awesome, and I like being able to have custom themed navigation buttons.
Darn it
When i bought my nexus 6 it was...unlock bootloader, remove encryption, root, install twrp, turn down dpi, remove navbar, and install pie lol.

I don't know why but for some reason after Chrome updated the hiding soft keys build.prop edit started crashing my phone - giving me Google Play Services errors. Wasn't until I put the soft keys back that it fixed the problem.
I have been doing this to all my nexus devices.

On screen Navigation bar or buttons on tab S2

Just got us tab s2 . Love the weight less design..
I don't like having to hit the hardware home button on it though everytime I need to switch app or go back to home page.
Is there an option to get on screen software navigation buttons? Would prefer not to root actually.

Plenty of non root solutions for this just search play for soft keys.
I have a nav bar from Gravity Box (Xposed) but unfortunately the keys are only visible in portrait mode. My favorite soft key solution is called Button Savior and I also like LMT (available on XDA).
