Unicorn Beetle PRO Series Vs Otter box Defender What should i get - Galaxy Note5 Accessories

I am looking for a new phone case. After 2 hours of research I have come across two phone cases. I am not sure which would be better. I am looking at Unicorn Beetle PRO Series Or Otter box Defender. I don't know which one is better or do you know of a better case I should get.
I am very clumsy and i have a horrible habit of dropping my phone. My 7 year old loves to play games on my phone as well. So i am looking for something that will protect it.

for my self I have just ordered Unicorn Beetle PRO for 12.74 USD which has a screen cover with reasonable price. Otter box is too much expensive around USD 60. I have a bad experience with galaxy S6 as it has a cover but without a screen protect and it drop on floor with screen broken.

I should say i am getting the Samsung galaxy note 5

yes, I am talking also about note 5 but I have mentioned s6 as a previous experience ..

Coupon? Lucky! I wish I could be so lucky

check out poetic revolution, a member here on xda just did a review. a buddy of mine has one for his 6s plus too, really nice case for the price. I'd like to grab one myself.

I don't even use my note 5 otterbox it sits and collects dust because nobody wants it on CL

Best Protective Case for the Note 2?

After searching the threads and being horrified by pictures of smashed screens, I don't think I will take my Note 2 out until I get a protective case! It recently arrived and being so used to my HTC phone which I have dropped many times and has survived falling from my lap as I get out of the car, flying out of my bag and so on, I don't think I can take this risk at all with the Note 2. A little scared it is so fragile but I am wondering if those who have had the phone for much longer have found the best way to protect the phone. I guess the days of walking down the street checking my messages are over for now (plus being afraid someone will take it from me!).
I don't mind flipcases (especially as it covers the front) but most of the cases I have seen so far only cover the back but this doesn't protect the screen, so looking for something that will protect it all round.
I had been sporting a naked note 2 until a couple days ago, but after it slipped out of my pocket while I opened the door of a moving car going 15mph (only resulting some chips on a few of the corners thank god haha) I had to get a case. I read lots of reviews and decided to get the black UAG case and I love it. I like the way the phone feels in my hand with it and it feels very protected. There are cases that are more protective but they add more bulk, this doesn't mean that the UAG won't protective because to me this thing still feels like fort Knox in my hand with it hah

+1 for UAG. But before you decide, check out full list of cases for Note 2 I have reviewed: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192333

Wow a lot of reviews, thank you for that.
I guess I wanted extra protection for the front (when not in use) so the UAG is on hold. Went for the cheap flipcase in stead.
I have been using the Otterbox Defender for a couple of months and love it. Since I have dropped and had to replace two phones, I need the heavy duty protection. It's got a built in screen protector that covers the screen like a window. I like the fact that it makes the phone bulky, easier to hold.
Otterbox
I didn't want to give in to the Otterbox. But after I dropped my Note and scratching the S Pen, I did. I absolutely love it and it's by far the best case I've ever had. I even got one for my daughter's RAZR. She loves it also.
I've had my phone for a few days now and have really got used to the feel of it (light and smooth) but I know I shouldn't risk it. I don't really like the look of the bulky cases, and since I am a girl I want something more girly I guess, but I've gone ahead and ordered a cheap flipcase that was reviewed on this forum. Will see how that one goes for now and will upgrade as I find something for me.

I swear by the uag cases. I've dropped my phone down concrete stairs while it's (thankfully) been in a uag and there was not a single scratch to be seen as a result of the experience. The Otterbox is just too cumbersome especially if you are like me and often switch out the batteries.

I have the Otterbox, which I absolutely love, but it feels like the size of the phone doubles when I have it on my phone. I found another case manufactured by Seidio. It's the Seidio KONVERT combo and it has a hard outer case that goes on the phone and another rubber case that covers the hard case and is braced by a skeleton type covering. It sounds like it would be bigger than the OtterBox, but it actually isn't. THe phone looks and feels slimmer and it looks more elegant, where the OtterBox gives the phone a more ruggedized look. As far as protection, I am deployed and have dropped my phone a couple times and I haven't had any issues with it at all. Plus, you can take the rubber outer shell off and still have an good-looking inner case as well. Highly recommend it, as well as the OtterBox.

[Q] Using a Diztronic Note 3 TPU case with the Note 4?

I upgraded from a Note 3 today and noticed that the Note 3 Diztronic case seems to fit decently enough with the Note 4 , although the camera cut out blocks the flash... Can using that case possibly damage the phone?
Wouldn't that block the flash?
That case does look pretty sleek. If you're handy with a Dremel perhaps you could mod your case and post pictures of it. Or if that sounds kinda like a freaky thing to do, there are some dirt cheap cases on Amazon, and most likely won't damage your phone. But if you're anything like me you'll find a way to mod actual N4 cases just for the fun of it...
If you can afford an $750 phone why won't you just spend $8-$9 on a half decent case?

I'm not sure how many of you know me from other areas of the forum, but I'm a 'casaholic' as one might say. I currently own 20+ cases for my Nexus 6P since its my daily driver, so I will chime in with my recommendations below as well as some reviews when my cases start to arrive.
1. Hands down best case: Speck Candyshell. I love this case for my 6P because it not only has great grip, but it will handle drops like a champ
2. Incipio Dual Pro: This is my current 6P case that I fell in love with. I've owned many of their cases (I have one on my Surface Pro 4 too), and haven't been disappointing. The last time I had one for a Samsung phone was with my wife's S5 before the one for my 6P.
3. Spigen Slim Armor/Tough Armor: Spigen has historically made some nice cases, but I haven't had a good experience with their newer Neo Hybrid's, so I chose these instead. I've had a Slim Armor for many phones ranging from my Note 3, LG G3, to my Motorola Nexus 6. The case might not be the best looking, but it gets the job done.
Slim cases:
1. Ringke Slim: This was my favorite case for my Nexus 6 last year due to how slim it was while still handling minor drops.
2. Diztronic TPU (assuming one comes out) their cases are excellent as is their customer support.
I will add some reviews as I get cases, accessories etc... If you want to see how I've written reviews in the past you can look in my signature, so you know what to expect once I start to post them.

thanks for the great advice. I was a Spigen (Rugged Armor & Thin Fit) person for a long time as i always liked their thin and good protection. I don't like bulky cases.

You should see my OP for the 6P. I haven't added in the past few cases to it just yet, but I literally have a box of them on my bookshelf. I bought the Speck clear black Candyshell case because I know it will handle any drops that I will inevitably have. I don't think I will go overboard with this phone (I always tell myself that) because I'm not a big Samsung fan to be honest. I just thought the idea behind their camera set up was interesting enough to give it a try, and I like to have a backup device just in case.
I was using a Spigen Neo Hybrid for my S6 Edge for a long time and loved it, but eventually got a Mophie battery case because I needed to use an external battery all too often. I'll probably get the Neo Hybrid for the S7 Edge that I pre-ordered and hopefully the battery will last longer for me and I won't feel the need to go with a battery case.
But, while I was looking around at options I noticed that not only is Mophie already planning a case for the S7+Edge, but they are announcing that it will finally support wireless charging (yay). It is only a +60% battery option as opposed to the S6 Edge case which was a +100% battery option, but given the larger battery in the S7 edge a 60% boost should be plenty for me (I have often needed the extra power from my S6 Edge Mophie, but I have never run out with it - and 2600*2 < 3600*1.6)...
First Deal I've seen @ $3.99 for the CLEAR NON Prime shipped Ringke S7 & S7 Edge cases from their Offical Store via Amazon. Shipping is free.
The Note 5 Ringke case I had worked well. Ordered last night & it was marked shipped this morning.

does anyone know if any of these cases will work with a glass screen protector. The s6 edge did not have much luck.
I'll be looking for a subtle transparent silicon cover over the coming days. A great combination of protection without making the phone look s**t. I don't see the point is buying a phone that looks like this then covering it in something that takes the looks and feel away.

Ghostek nautical? Any good?

Should I get the UAG Monarch. Ghostek Nautical, or the ARMOR-X case? I can't decide but I want the best protection I can get, if there is any alternatives I would love to know what they are!
Thanks

Decided to go with the Ghostek Nautical. It's a nice case with excellent protection, including an integrated screen saver. The two downsides are that the S-Pen is very difficult to remove and headphone use requires an extender, which dose not come with the case. It reminds me of the Otterbox Galaxy S7 Edge case that had an integrated screen protector.
I've seen at least three other cases with integrated screen savers (all available through Amazon) but have no experience with these:
1) Love Mei Water Resistant Shockproof Aluminum Metal Super Anti Shake Silicone Fully Body Protection for Samsung Galaxy Note 8
2) Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Case, SUPCASE Full-body Rugged Holster Case with Built-in Screen Protector for Galaxy Note 8
3) i-Blason Galaxy Note 8 Case, Shock Reduction / Full body Bumper Case with Built-in Screen Protector for Samsung Galaxy Note 8
I have the UAG Monarch on order. I've been using their cases with every single phone that had one available for as long as I can remember. I always had their standard cases (now called Pathfinder) but they apparently aren't making those for the Note 8 and I hate the transparent cases. So this is my first Monarch, I'm sure I'll love it just the same.
I have the Ghostek Nautical. It's not to great to be honest.
The photos when using flash are blurry and have the halo light effect.
You cannot get the S-Pen out unless you have small fingers or use another object to try to remove it.
It's kind of depressing because this case was awesome for my galaxy s8. Only reason why I decided to use it for my note 8.
I got a Nautical, and honestly its not worth anything near the amount sold for.
The one i got the power button did not work unless you hit it with a hammer. The fingerprint cut out was not aligned with the phone. The plastic feels cheap. and due to a reflection from the case, its impossible to take a photo with flash with the cover on.
Highly disappointed.

I'd say go with the OtterBox Defender, tried and true. If you are paying $60 for a case might as well go with the Defender.
I understand wanting to protect the phone, but looking at these cases they are unbelievably bulky. Sturdy yes but wow, the added bulk. What are you guys doing with your phones that you need such a massive case? I'm genuinely curious as my last case was a Bear Motion for the Pixel and it didn't even cover the top and bottom. And even now I'm only using the Rinke smoke TPU case.

I have a thick protective case instead of paying monthly then a deductive for insurance, especially nowadays that everything is glass the phones are too vulnerable to drops. Sure I'd love to rock the phone "naked" and show off the amazing design but if I dropped it I would be extremely pissed I just broke a $1000 phone.
I don't understand why some find it to be a problem that others want to protect their 1000 dollar investment some ppl work in accident prone jobs we need protection I don't like spending multiple 1000s repeatedly.

I bought a Ghostek Nautical for my Galaxy Note 9. The s-pen cover does not close. After complaining to Ghostek and demanding a replacement case or refund, Ghostek agreed to send a replacement. It took two months to arrive. The s-pen cover on the replacement case also doesn't close. Don't waste money on their case..

Yes I just got mine last week, I cut out the built in screen protector, and it fits over the OnePlus 3d glass protector....tight but it fits. Haven't dropped it yet and don't plan to, but if you want protection at a decent price this is the case for you..

Hi. Thank for answers. If I gonna make it to buy from USA somehow becosue they dont ship to Poland.
Im gonna cut of the bulid screen protector too.
Thanks.
Late reply, my brother and I have this case too. I removed the plastic cover since it doesn't do such a good job with touches, but protection wise it's great, if dropped my phone with this case and so has my brother and there still in 1 piece. The screen hasn't cracked, nor has the case popped off. (And no there not often drops, not supper clumsy) but if it every slips and falls it does a pretty good job at protecting it.

I've had this case a few months but haven't used it because I didn't like the built-in screen protector. Never occurred to me to cut it out. Did you pop it off or literally cut it out, like with a razor blade?

It's a pain, but I started with a cut with a exacto knife, then I was able to slowly pop it out....now the glue that remains is a different story. The one i bought for my shamu i was able to peel the glue off....now with this one, goo gone was the only thing that took the glue off the piece, it's a pain but as far as protection goes it's well worth it.
Got 2 days ago SUPCASE Unicorn Beetle Pro for my OP5T... Was waiting since long for this cover... But quite disappointed after applying.. As i hve same cover for my Nexus 6 (Shamu) which is real beast.... Almost 4 years of usage and still looks like brand new. Whereas the quality of rubber is not like the one i have.. It's very loose. Just a soft touch also opening the rubber pickings from front whereas on Shamu it not that much easy to open the cover.... But still happy to have SUPCASE Unicorn Beetle Pro..... As device is now damn safe.... Going to remove the protection film as after 2 days also film is not perfectly fitted...
Just sharing my experience here...

Hi,
Does anyone know where to get a plastic holster for Honor View 10 in US. I checked on eBay and Amazon ans searched online otherwise too but cant find it anywheere.
I figured that since oneplus 5t are pretty much same dimensions and back camera positions are same too i can use the one for oneplus 5t on honor view 10 but cant find one for oneplus 5t also. Any ideas?
I know this is an older thread, buy my oldest son just bought himself a 5T, and purchased this case for it on my recommendation. I've got it on my OP5, and had it on my Nexus 5X. I love it! My wife also has it on her OP5. We've never had issues with the built-in screen protector (well, my wife occasionally does, but I think that's due to her constantly using oils and her fingers have it on them). I did finally cut it out of the case for the N5X just because it got so scratched up when I let my youngest son use the phone after I got the OP5.
