Axon Mini - SD card slot - ZTE Axon Pro

Hi all. I bought an Axon Mini recently, and although I'm very pleased with it (great spec, obscenely good value), I can't actually work out how to open the SD card slot. There's no way of getting a finger nail under it and jamming a sharp point into the very tiny hole at the top of the flap doesn't do anything either. There's no manual with the phone, and as far as I can see nobody on the internet has yet asked this question.
I think the Elite also has a similar slot so perhaps somebody's had some experience with this?
Thanks in advance for any tips!

What do you mean? I own an Elite and I just did what everyone else does, used the SIM ejection tool and the tray popped out, does the Mini have a different design?

I also own a Mini. The SD Card occupies one of the sim slots. When you eject the sim holder the larger slot can take the MicroSD card.

anyone can help me make my zte mini google phone? I bought I in China..

MicroSD Slot

Quick question for all you AT&T Tilt Owners. I just noticed that it is a PIA, to remove the MicroSD from the unit. On the 8525, there was a spring-loaded mechanism to remove the memory card, but on my 8925 it does not appear to have one. Could someone let me know if they are having the same problem, or if mine is just broken
Thanks!
I have a sandisk 4 gig card in it. The slot is spring loaded. It's hard to notice as the card in the slot is a force fit (there is a small amount of resistance).
I have the sandisk 6GB card and it fits perfectly with little resistance just as mswanson said. I find it very convenient to remove and put back in.
There've been a few reports of cards that appear to be just large enough to wedge themselves into the slot and make the spring loading not seem to work. But it's definitely spring loaded.

yes the MicroSD slot on the Tilt/Kaiser/8925/Vario III is defintely spring loaded with a cover.
Thanks for the quick feedback... Checked with another MicroSD Card and same problem. Looks like my spring-mechy no worky!
I know this is simple, but I will throw it out there...
You know the SD slot is upside down compared to the 8525? Text up. Otherwise, yeah its broken.

Micro SD

Is there any way in which we can add a MicroSD card slot to the diamond?

I'm only specululating, but by desoldering the internal memory chip on the mainboard and resoldering to a micro-sd cardslot, it could be possible perhaps. I would bet, the interface is the same and the chip on the motherboard is nothing else, but an unhoused, normal micro-sd card - don't know it for sure of course.
But if possible at all, handling the tiny contacts of smd-chips is only possible with special equipement, a lot of experience and the risk of destroying the mainboard.
What about attaching microSD reader through extUSB?

That is possible. Discussed in another thread here.
So far, can only be used for flashing ROM, using an external card reader.
Diamond is missing drivers for accessing the card in WM6.1.
just bin the diamond
go buy a pro....
did you not know this before you brought it
Micro-SD
I saw a cable which is basically like the computer's usb extension cable but only shorter. It was under the phones category and my guess is that it should work and not just for flashing the rom!
So I'm looking in ebay now to get one of those little suckers and try it to confirm if my theory is right or wrong!
Laters guys
Hi Guys
Let´s face it. HTC could have build this device with a Micro-SD.
They are just learning from Apple. upgrade it slowly. next year, they surrely release a "upgraded" version, with a 5M camera and a MicroSD card, more Ram...

Joao

First of all, they could not have build this device with a micro-sd slot without getting thicker. And as the most of us want a thin and small device they made all right IMHO.
And why the hell should they learn from Apple??? How many PPC's did Apple build???
Like I said, I think they made a very good job with the Diamond.
So far....
I want a diamond with microsd
The touch pro is too fat for me (size and money).

Adding an SD slot would have added about 1mm to the thickness. Hardly a great amount in the grand scheme of things. However, it might have drained the battery even further, so maybe that's why it was left out.

Dual SIM and memory card?

As per the title, if you have the dual SIM variant does it allow use of a micro SD card as well as 2 SIMs?
It's a hybrid dual sim so you will choose a second sim or micro sd.
It can be done—search for the SIM SD hack, it was done successfully on Note 7 and earlier phones. It requires some fine hacking of both the second SIM and the SD.
I'm sure it will be attempted successfully—I'll do it once I get the phone.
I would not recommend it.
Me either. It's a bold move on a $1,000 phone, and I think Samsung wound up blocking it anyway.

I wanna try it anyway, do you have any links of where you've read they blocked it - I'd like to see how and if it can be overcome.

Edit: I doubt your information is true: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YmJI3BQUHF4
It works on the S8+, I think it'll be doable on the Note 8.
It can be done and should be done. Right now I have the hack installed in s8 plus HK dual sim.version, 128 gb internal 256 sd card.
It worked very well in every phone with hybrid dual sim from samsung and huawei
Just see youtube videos to understand what you have to do
does anyone tried the dual sim hack for note 8? I'm coming from s7 edge with dual sim and micro sd simultaneously. My note 8 arrived last saturday and I can say that the micro sd slot seems fit and tight compare to s7 edge. I'm afraid to break the SIM tray or it may be stuck inside so I remove the SIM on my micro sd for now.

You can try "simore sim adapter", it's unique one I used it on s7 edge, now planning to get it as soon as my note 8 will arrive

thanks for the suggestion. But I did not use and adapter on my S7 Edge. I just cut the sim contact and paste it on my sd card. I'm just afraid to do the same on my note 8 since it is a bit tight and fit compare to S7 Edge sim tray.
Some guy did it when note 7 came out, it got stuck and he couldn't remove tray.
What if this SIM but comes off, your phone will be screwed as you will likely crash it into debris trying to remove the tray

I'm trying to do it - so far no luck. The tray really seems very tight and it's not going in, seems it would get stuck - I'm gonna try scrape the card some more with a scalpel to see if it helps. Scraped off the top bump on the card - not good enough, we'll see...

seems this is the action of samsung for people doing the microsd with sim hack. Maybe someday there will be a sim card tray mod instead.

Any luck? i had a samsung A3 2017 and it worked beautifully. yes, it was tight but the youtube instructions were pretty solid. didn't have to scrape the microsd... used a very thin double sided tape
I concluded that it's impossible on the Note 8—I scraped all the plastic of on the SD card and still there was super big pressure midway through trying to force the tray in—leading me to the conclusion that the tray would get stuck inside.
Damned Samsung…

Exactly HOW do you plan to do that? Nothing to do with software but the hardware tray itself. The tray will physically only allow either one Sim and one SD card or two SIM you cannot place three in that tray there is no space to do so?
Ryland
Any body else tries this on the note 8? i did the hack on my s8plus. Hoping i could just transfer it on the note 8

Like this
And it works perfectly on my note 8 as screenshot shows.
To all those afraid or interested:
1. Yes it works
2. If you are careful you will not break your phone
Best
D.
But how did you manage it? Like I said I scraped the card—made it much thinner and still when pushing the tray in I felt significant pressure, felt it would get stuck.
Can you push the tray out from the phone? Can you post a close up picture of the cards in the tray to see how much they protrude up and down?
Also failed in my case despite considerable filing. They've definitely tightened up the slot to curb on users doing this, for some reason?? But you can buy extender adapters which are very low-profile and still likely to work I'm sure. I was very disappointed to see that they combined MicroSD and Nano sim so that only one can be exclusively used in the slot. Poor design. All 3 should be possible without any difficulty! Are we not paying for this convenience?

Important question on using dual sim along with sd in exynos galaxy note 8

Have any of you used the magicsim elite for galaxy note 8? it allows you to use dual sims plus sd at same time. The one thing that im afraid of is its a cable that comes out of the sim slot, could this affect water resistance? What are the chronic effects of using this? If I use a case, will it create any problem, like will it drag the cable down, which could cause mechanical failure of sim tray to be stuck in there indefinitely?

SD card + 2 sim card

Hi,
There is any solution for sd card + 2 sim at same time?
Thanks in advance
search in youtube "Dual SIM & SD Card Work Simultaneously on Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge". i tried this method and succeed.
or buy an adaptor from aliexpress. "Hybrid Double Dual Sim card Adapter".
Seen this done on other phnes by makng the simcard and sd card thinner butdoesn't seem worth attempting to getting it stuff in the phone for me
I've got it flawlessly working with this Hybrid Adapter.
2x SIM + 1x 64GB microSD
In order to make it looking a bit better, I cut a hole in my phone case and wrapped in the inside everything in black scotch tape.

2 things are needed, I sharpened the sd a little with a small file, a few millimeters carefully without damaging the card, and when I put them in I had given a slight slope to the edges of the sim so that it does not wrinkle when it is inserted. it requires patience and attention

I do the same, and finally it works.
But my sim card no more working, i think cause i have put it in acetone to remove all plastic...
But also on my mi 9 lite, i can't move apps on sd card, or agregate it with infernal storage.
So no interest...
I'm searching for a New smartphone right now...
