New roms for Zuk Z1 - Zuk Z1 General

Hello,
I have an Honor 6 and i want to buy a Zuk Z1. My only hesitation to buy it is the rom community...
Do you think that some Rom teams will develop for Zuk Z1?
Thank you

I think no body interested for making custom rom here. I don't know why.?really this is good device.....

http://bbs.zuk.cn/z1/?filter=typeid&typeid=186 maybe this help

I am interested in custom ROMs but so far the experience with the device's software was pretty decent so I didn't have the urge to custom ROM it just yet.
The only thing I did was mod the kernel and key layouts to restore the capacitive home button because I like capacitive buttons better.
Edit: I would love a Marshmallow ROM though.

Oh Yes... Many roms but is only for chinese version ? Do you think this rom can be available in English for the zuk Z1? Why there are not available on xda ?

@gaara19 may be they work i have Chinese version zuk z1 , i installed Resurrection Rom looks fine till now....but as all ROM based on CM you will not feel any difference.

It's so rare... In official Resurrection Rom site, this device it's not listed, the same happens with Blisspop Roms, in china forums appears, but in official site not.

CyanogenMod is the #1 ROM by any device (maybe Samsung not), so you don't need to look for other roms.

What happens with this device??
Oneplus X have many custom roms, kernels and stuff the same with Oneplus 2. Oneplus X is newer than Zuk!
Development for this device is dead?

Feel free to start something yourself.
God helps those who help themselves.
As for me I've started setting up a build server today and am going to experiment a bit with CM sources tomorrow.

Just to add to this thread, saw that the chinese/english zui rom is reportedly coming with a marshmallow version later this month according to their official comment on it http://bbs.zuk.cn/z1/t46551/ use google translate
Might give this a bash and see how it works when it arrives and if its nice, then make a clean rom without the chinese apps

Looking forward to it. I've tried all the ROMs out so far for the Z1 and found the original ZUI and CM12.1 to be the best choices so far.
Currently I'm running CM12.1 but we will see what the future brings.

No you don't. But you need a account at least.
If you want to download without their app then you need to press the "clone to my baidu" button instead of the download button, and then go into your "my baidu" and download it from there.
Now, instead of forcing you through their app it will just download like a regular file.

Ive managed to download their latest "ZUI 1.2.040" after like 5 tries or so from failed downloads, if anyone wants it just pm me and ill give you a link as ive uploaded it to my mega account (its only a free account and a 10GB bandwidth limitation hence im not making the link public).
Edit: I found that apparently the 10GB bandwidth limit is renewed every 30min (http://freebies.about.com/od/computerfreebies/fl/mega-review.htm) so screw it, here´s a link for the zui rom

Your spot on about that. Marshmallow is coming anyway for this. I was bothered about the lack of roms but this is what you want it to be. I'm happy with this until MM is out. I have it on my nexus 5 and it's a great step forward from Lollipop, but I loved Lollipop until the Nexus updated. I think Google got it right at last. Tyne COS kernel is a weak point.

If it helps, I'm going to update my ROM to JB today, but of course you can choose any ROM you wish...
Most ROMs here are stock based, and therefore are very similar.
If you want AOSP then go for CM10, if you like the Sony interface, go for one of the stock based ones.

I never recommend a rom, its personal choice.
Try some out and see which you prefer. There are lots to try and a good rom for one person is a bad rom for someone else.
If you want to be told which rom to use, why dont you just use the one Sony says you have to use and stick with stock

well i unlocked+rooted+ changed the rom miself(the tuts around here are quite kinda very @-) ) ....
and also I've installed this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2026918 .
also I know that Sony XDA doesn't have alot of devs..so only simple things..
i has an ONE X but changed it with Xperia T (had also Xperia S) .
Like everything else, it's a very subjective question.
Here's my 2 pence worth.
Coming from a galaxy s2, the dev on Xperia t is limited at best. Nevertheless, I've tried crazybuild, xperiment, PAC, jellybam thus far.
Sony stock has too much bloat ware for me, but it has some nice touches like the small apps.
For customisation and features I prefer the jellybam rom, however, it has many issues I.e inadequate camera app, not all toggles work etc.
I'm personally waiting for a stock rom with cm/aokp mods.

Is camera at full res or max at 5m? Also are u experiencing high pitched tone/noise when using speaker during a call?
this is the bad thing about CM related rom that the camera isn't optimized for our Phone..and u lose alot of cool things(settings) + maybe the MP

I use Camera FV-5 and I can shoot at the maximum 13 megapixel of the sensor without any problem.
Regarding the speaker noise, I've never used handsfree during a call, will see if I can try this evening and tell you later.

Okay, I can confirm that this rom suffers the same bug regarding hands free speaker as other roms.

It depends on your priorities. For me the small navigation buttons, battery percentage customization, and home button swipe gestures are great features that I really miss in the stock rom. And I never use hands free while on the phone, so AOKP (or rather its port KangXperia) is great for me.
I was hoping to flash phandroid like my phone to look pretty, but use hand free often so no go for me

You may then take a look at stock based ones, but with a few "improvements".
Before I installed AOKP I used TiMiN8R's stock, rooted and deodexed, and it worked very well.

[ROM][MIUI V5][JB 4.1.2] MIUI V5 UnOfficial for SHV-E120S

Hi MIUI Fans:
This thread is not in progress anymore ... coz I changed my phone a long time ago and I don't have this device now...
But no need to be sad coz ... MIUI has included this phone in its list and Ported ROM is available for this device...
And not only this but all the 3 devices have MIUI now ... SHV-E120S/K/L....
Here is the link Ported MIUI from the official site ...
Hope you enjoy

Hey friends,
For those of you who have been waiting, here is the good news.
I am so glad to present the latest (not exactly, but not old either) MIUI V5 3.8.2 for our SHV-E120S S2 HD device.
Whats working:
Seriously speaking I have not done a explicit testing on this build, but have briefly gone through almost all the things and found those to be working. :good:
Whats not working:
There is no keyboard installed by default. You need to skip all the settings in the beginning and then you can install a JB keyboard and then setup your phone.
Problems:
I found the Camera app not fully functional. If you want to simply click pictures then its working great. But I found a few problems while video recording. The speed at which the camera takes photos is pretty quick and for the video is pretty laggy.
NOTE:
1. I am not the creator of this ROM, I have simply ported it to our device.
2. Make sure you have taken the necessary backup of your existing ROM before flashing this one.
Flashing Process:
1. Copy the downloaded file to your sd card where you can access it easily.
2. Boot into recovery and take a backup of your existing system (in case any thing goes wrong)
3. Cleaning up
3a. Wipe data/factory reset
3b. Wipe cache partition
3c. Go to Advanced option and wip dalvik cache
4. Choose install zip and point it to the location where you copied the downloaded miui zip. It will take around 2 mins.
5. Repeat steps 3a, 3b and 3c.
6. Reboot your device.
While starting for the first time it may take some time and any subsequent restarts will be much faster.
WARNING:
And I am not responsible for anything that goes wrong with your device. Please flash this at your own risk.
Although I flashed the same and had no problems at all. I have experienced a good battery backup with this ROM.
Those who flash this ROM, please share your experience with others. And it would be great if someone could put up a video of the flashing process and the performance of the phone once you have flashed the ROM.
Without any further delay here is the download link for the same:
Build 01: 2013_08_20
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BycWzcfvhoryUEd4Nnk1SXZQS28/edit?usp=sharing
Build 02: Coming Soon...
But I would need people to test it once.... coz I don't have enough time to test it.
Also if anyone would like to see the screenshots, you can find those here:
http://www.mediafire.com/folder/za31zscots5b5/MIUI_V5_ROM
Happy Downloading, and please hit the Thanks button if you like my work. I just hope if works for you all
Lastly I would like to thank
MIUI team, MIUIAndroid team, osm0sis and Tinus81 (the link you gave did the trick ) for helping me out.
Thank you.

I don't exactly know how these devices (E120S, E120L & E120K) are different from each other...but please don't do any such thing...
You could brick your device (just guessing)....
Search a ROM for your device and i am sure you will find one....I would be very happy to port this rom for other models like yours....but i don't have that device to test the same....
Thanks
Hi shrewdy I just bought a brand new SHV-E120S from ebay it should arrive tomrorrow so I am just downloading your rom ready.
I have been reading contradicting specs for this phone can you confirm what bands it actually supports ?
From what I can tell I can get gsm and 3g here in the uk but possibly lte because some sites say it supports 3 lte bands and some say just 850mhz
Would you say best option is to flash stock ics then cwm then this rom ?

Hey Buddy,
you can find more information about the phone at this link http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s_ii_hd_lte-4198.php
The stock roms are not good enough for this phone....actually speaking none of the ROMs are absolutely perfect for this phone...coz there are not many developers who know about this device.
The phone itself is quite a capable device but its a sad thing that no one supports the phone directly...so people like us have no choice but to port different roms which i must say are not so perfect...
Anyways there are a handful of ROMs available for this device...you can try each one and see which suits you....I really need the camera working absolutely fine and so i use iR2 ROM (Version 3)...
Hope you find answers to your questions.
Thanks.

Yes shame there is not much of a following on this phone it looks good and was ahead of its time !
It would also be good if someone had the time to put in a thread all the different roms, download links what versions etc on main page here............as there are not many I guess it won't take long !
Yes I saw the specs on GSMARENNA but some say they are wrong regarding the bands that are on the SHV-E120S..........anwyay mine has arrived so its time to unbox and flash !
Do you have a dwonload link for the rom you recommend ? Does everything work ? From reading it appears that FOXROM is about as bear perfect as you can get ? but its ICS.

Thanks for the links..............I put a modified stock version on last night and it seems to be stable but very battery hungry so I intend on trying the IR32 tonight which I am hoping is much better ! It didn't download in time !
Shrewdy I think the ROM I tried it was one you posted you tried because it was a zip of a MD5 file with your initials in the file name.
Also just to report for anyone in the uk who purchases this phone it appears that becaus the phone only gets 1 out of the 2 3g bands you can only obtain 3g speeds no H at all unless of course its the rom I am using.
I think the build quality of the phone is a lot better than the S3 and looks more expensive !
If I can get the battery lasting a day then I will be happy I am not bothered about the 4g or H speeds really thats what we hav WIFI for

I am sorry buddy but i really dont have any idea... i just ported the original thing to our device....
If the original MIUI has support for Spanish language then this will have it too..
I searched around and found these links which might be useful...
This one teaches you how to create your own language pack/or translate things

This one gives you a list of language packs you can download for MIUI (but older version)

Now i am not sure if things work for you if you download the language pack and apply it to this rom...i dont know what will happen...
Hope something works for you...
Thanks.

Shrewdy, I recently buy one of this one (E120S) and I've been looking for a better rom that "full of bloatware" official one. I know you're experienced a lot with this device, so my question is simple: is still this ROM the best stable and compatibility version that you have used? I know this is a noob question, but since your original post is in August, maybe you have a better experience with new a ROM.
About the camera, have you solved the lag during video taking?
Thanks for your answers!!!

Bro... this rom (MIUI 3.8.2) is not the most stable version... My rom is based on the MIUI's Development version which is probably never stable.
If you want a stable rom (which i dont think there is...) it is SVN ROM 1.2... this is the fastest, smoothest and most stable rom i have used until now on my shv-e120s.
Try that rom i am sure you will like it.

Best rom for 3T?

Wjat is best rom for Oneplus 3T and why? But I want rom where xposed is working.
No ROM is 'the best'
You have numerous options to test and see for yourself which one suits your needs the best. You can go either for stock (based) or AOSP ROMs, it's all about what you are looking for. Also no choice is bad here - all ROMs for 3T are of really outstanding quality and not a single one will let you down. Just play around for a couple of days, try out different ways to go and pick your favorite.
If it's about me - latest stock rooted with Magisk is just enough. Oxygen OS is supremely optimized and the system is almost pure Android but with all the essential flavors AOSP lacks.
Fully agree with the previous comment. If there was a "best" ROM for everyone, we would all be using it, and there wouldn't be a need for any ROM except that one. What features are important in a ROM, is going to vary from person to person. The performance and stability (often a question "which ROM has the best performance?") is also going to vary drastically depending on how you as an individual use the phone, apply further tweaks, etc.
Your best bet is to browse through the ROMs, select a couple or few that look like they meet your preferences, and flash them, and try for yourself (be sure to make a TWRP backup of your current setup before flashing any ROMs, so you can easily revert); and see what works best for you.

No i don't have, bought this phone on this week's monday. Immediately rooted and flashed twrp, Now I have Resurrection Remix, but it's little bit buggy and not filling my expectations. (Sry for bad english)
I'm looking for a really good ROM, too.
Stability, everything should work fine. Don't want to clean flash every few months.
I don't need to customize every colour of every object. Need a perfect ROM for using it every day.
Any recommendations?
best rom official rr or the one from varun himself (g+)
no rom is the best.
you have to try some of them and choose one !
i tried at least more than 10 roms + defualt kernels and custom kernels.
and compare them together and flashed best based on my usage ! ( your usage may vary and of course other roms is best for you )
but :
if your main concern is not heavy camera usage and want stability + battery + xposed , i suggest you Sultanxda CM13 rom.(which i am using now.)

https://plus.google.com/+varund7726 you will find them on his page. He is doing weekly builds. But he is not the official maintainer for oneplus3/3t even if he is the maintainer of the rom itself and the most important developer of resurrection remix . by the way the kernel included in his build is very advanced. try it befor flashing any custom kernels.

To add to this, is there currently any that provide wi-fi calling feature?

Which ROM for most settings and customizability?

Which ROM should I install if I want the most amount of settings and ways to customize things?
Some additional thoughts...
Does one even need a custom ROM these days, or can most things be changed using "Xposed installer"?
Are there any drawbacks using a custom ROM?
1. RR is a good choice IMO.
2. More features to play with. Themes. More updates.
3. Xposed doesn't exist on Nougat.
4. Nope except not be able to use full stock features. Stability? It depends on the ROMs and the maturity of the Android version.

Thank you for a good response.
What are some of the stock features, just to get an idea?

Oxygen OS apps (but you can get a port version for Camera and Gallery)
Dark UI (but you can flash a ROM supporting Substratum)
...
I don't remember OOS well and since I have a preference for custom ROMs over stock firmware I can't give you many reasons to stay on OOS. If you want to have the latest Android version, some day you will have flash a custom ROM.

I've spent ten minutes trying to figure out which one is the official (or best) version of Resurrection Remix. Can you point me in the right way?
The one in your signature says it has a pirate-icon if you install pirate stuff. And while I may not do that, I still don't like the idea of that.
So which RR would you recommend?

Both versions have this anti piracy measure I think.
I recommend the unofficial builds since I'm using them ?
It has extra features such as delta updates, signature spoofing support,... and the dev is always available to help and answer our questions.

You could have just flashed the ROM days ago, and have decided yourself; instead of waiting for others to dictate what you will or will not like. And just because someone recommends it, doesn't mean you will even like it.

Agreed.
Agreed nicesoni ash has the best build in my opinion and the dev is great and very supportive of the rom and it's users. And there are lots of unofficial builds for nicesonis rom but you only need to install the latest one.

ROM For Gaming???

Hey guys I'm on a G610Y and currently running on stock TW 7.0 ROM. Is there any custom ROM as of now (preferably Oreo or Pie even) that runs games the best and is smooth and stable at the same time?
Well , I am on Havoc Os and i play pubg, it works fine as long as you have good internet connection. Also, some j7 prime users say games performance is better in samsung Tw based roms, i have also seen lots of recommendation like Oreosama and Venom for better gaming or you can just wait for the new Veloxy Rom , developer wrote that gaming will be much better in that rom.

Since the VeloxyROM is nearing release anyway, I think I'll wait for it thanks!
All of u making thread like this should consider making it in Q&A section
I am a compulsive flasher I have tried all the rom for this device and the best is xenos 2.0, there is no rom that is compared in performance and fluency, despite having so many extras is still very fast, I have tried all the rom and I end up coming back this. I hope that soon one one will come out that the games run smoothly.

each rom has its grace and really anseois 8 and especially 9 is very nice, but it is a shame that they have bugs that cause an unstable system, at the moment all Android 9 rom with oneui are not fluid, those with Android AOSP have bug with the camera and the worst on the unlock screen take 5 seconds to be able to respond, the Android 8 have nothing innovative and is xenos is old .. but com nova launcher you give another appearance also I have Ambient display that is the best alternative for our j7 prime since it has no AMOLED screen and this no other Rom TW STOCK has it, it has virtual buttons on screen in the notification bar. And at the end answering your answer .. yes .. is rom is very fast because it takes kernel srock and the front flash works.

The 5 seconds screen delay on AOSP rom will be fix if you flash this version of oxygen kernel 5.1.125. we tested it already.
