Increased CPU & GPU Overclocks to 1.6Ghz and 640Mhz respectively
other minor changes
also i have now created update zips so its much easier to flash the kernel,
included are also zip files for Cyanogenmod builds - i have not tested these but i am fairly confident they will work
downloads in the downloads section or available below

please let me know if they work or not
-----------------------------------------------
im announcing a new release of my custom built kernel for the G800F i have used a base of CurtisMJ's custom kernel with lots of tweaks to increase performance and allow use of numerous apps to play with cpu settings etc(sorry synapse is just far too confusing to get working for my liking)
kernel main features are :
1.5GHz Max speed
GPU Overclock to 600mhz
full voltage Control Support via both voltage_table (per curtisMJ) and also the seemingly more recognisable UV_mV/UV_uV_table interface so loads of apps can tweak it.
Added BFQ, ROW, FIOPS, VR, SIOPLUS ZEN(v2) and TRIPNDROID I/O Schedulers
Added Intelliactive, ZZMOOVE CPU Governors(also enabled the stock ondemand, powersave, conservative and performance govs for anyone who likes those )
Enabled a few lower CPU steps (300mhz, 200mhz) to save even more power
Probably a few other things ive forgotten
i did try tweaking the reserved memory for the gpu to give us some more usable ram but that breaks things like camera so i reverted that.
could use some people to test this out and give me some opinions if possible as its hard to give a subjective test to something that you made yourself
download links are here :
Boot.img that can be flashed via dd on device
https://www.dropbox.com/s/63mn5i2hb3cguli/boot.img?dl=0
command to flash this via dd is:
Code:
su
dd if=boot.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p9
and a boot.img.tar for odin flashing

i suspect the best option for you to find thats out might be to flash it yourself

By the way
for a good ram management i think you should add kernel samepage merging : D I've used it a lot back on my s3 mini with 850mb of ram

Going to be looking into that next im playing with trying to make a bootable kernel for g800h today

In ICS9 the most important advantage is battery life its 20-30% better than kernel V2
Good news!... Thanks for the Job!
Is hardware acceleration supported on those 3.x Kernels? I mean, is the problem of nVidia source code releasing only related to CM9/ICS or to the 3.x Kernel?
I tried some CM9 and Kangs (first builds) based on ICS, and without HW modules/drivers, went back to CM7Kang for stability and performance.
Hardware acceleration works.

OK thanks for the info... Gonna try it! If nVidia's HW modules/drivers are OK, and battery life better...
Last but not least, does this kernel supports OC/UV or "stock based" for freq/voltages?

That would be great!
As far as I can tell after using it for 5 hours, the kernel seems to work stable and swift. The only thing I've really missed so far is Voodoo Sound support.
(Tested so far: USB debugging, USB mount, cifs, francarl's modified LG camera, HW accelerated MX Video player, wifi, hspa data, calls, GPS)
Touchscreen isn't that responsive as on Vadonkas.
Otherwise no bugs till now.
Keep up! Very good work!
Gesendet von meinem Optimus 2X mit Tapatalk
Works good about 6 hours.
Imperticus, please, keep one version without oc/uv in future.
Hardware acceleration works.
how u mean work? can u explain..ty
The GPU works the way it's meant. It will work best on ICS though after LG/Nvidia releases the binaries.
Nice and straightforward name for kernel.
Great!
Does this kernel have voodoo sound? Any ram hacks?
Thank you

Project porting msm-3.10 kernel to ariesve?

Hello everybody,
First of all this is not yet an announcement for a project.
I'd like to know if there are people already working on this task or not.
If not I hope some people are interested in teaming up to port over the msm-3.10 kernel to ariesve just like arco, ivendor and the AriesVE_Dev_Connection team has done for kernel 3.0 and the 3.4 kernels.
At the moment there isn't a android version which uses the 3.10 kernel as far as I know, but because the source is already available on the AOSP repository and also in the CodeAurora github this hints a version which ships with kernel 3.10 will land in the near future.
Of course I can't exactly tell what the changes between the 3.4 and 3.10 kernel exactly are because this is a very big list.
You have to think in terms of bug fixing, power enhancements, updated drivers and code for filesystems etc.
So if you have some knowledge with the linux kernel, programming, patching, and with git please leave a message in this post.
Greetings PsychoGame

The current msm kernel 3.10 from Google is experimental !! it needs much more effort to compile successfully !
Its better to start from LKA 3.12 branch . as Dorimanx has changed his branch to 3.12 successfully I am sure its possible to boot LKA 3.12 on ariesve too .
Do not forget its too much more difficult than what have been done for 3.0/3.4 ! Kernel 3.10/3.12 has huge changes in memory management , timer , processes and may be net (?) . our drivers are too old !
KitKat is based on 3.4, no need for a new Kernel version.

Hello XeLLaR,
I partially disagree with you on the need for a new kernel.
First of all the kernel is loosely related with the android version, but in fact every kernel theoretically could work with most android versions.
An example is of course ICS which used the 2.6 kernel at first and JB which used 3.0 at first before 3.4 was ported.
If it was possible AOSP would follow the mainline kernel release schedule, because this way you are always assured of the latest optimizations and bug fixes.
Unfortunately this still isn't a possibility as some android code still isn't merged in the mainline by Linus Torvalds because of potential problems with existing code.
Luckily this problem is getting smaller and smaller each kernel release as more and more android patches get sent upstream in the Linux mainline sources.
Alireza7991 gave an example of Dorimanx which ported the LKA 3.12 kernel over to his android devices.
So I think it's certainly useful to port over the msm-3.10 and maybe even 3.12 kernel, the question which only remains is, are there people interested in this project?
Greetings PsychoGame
But is it usefull to use an LKA kernel?
We must use CAF Sources to create a proper kernel.

Yes it is useful .
Android is a software which runs on linux kernel so there won't be any problem for booting ariesve using LKA !. just some patches are needed to be merged for adding the support of features Android needs
Is'nt it better to keep our kernel with a new and stable base instead of using an ancient kernel for just being in CAF branch ?
However we can even start from Dorimanx's 3.12 branch !

My knowledge in that case is very poor, but this is a guy, who try to port 3.12 to galaxy spica i5700 (ARM v6) https://twitter.com/tom3q/status/364896808327065601
So I dont knwow it is necessary, but is possible In my opinion there are more important things

Exynos = MSM = APQ = OMAP = ... = ARM based platform
we just need to merge msm-7x30 specific codes in kernel + drivers .nothing else is needed ;
I just said Dorimanx 3.12 kernel since it boots android so there is no need to add Android support to kernel , also it has been booted on a device which is very similar to ariesve, we only need to add msm-7x30 support !

Hello Alireza7991,
Currently I'm experimenting with the msm-3.10 source which is available over at https://www.codeaurora.org/cgit/quic/la/kernel/msm-3.10/
I use this source as base because it has the android patches along with many of the Qcom patches for hardware support.
It's just an experiment at the moment, and I don't know how far I will be able to get.
Currently I'm patching in the AriesVE specific support and from there will try to fix the building process.

I think i could buy one but im not into this stuff anymore (since i have a Nexus5 and a Nexus6 over here)
Porting a booting kernel shouldnt be that hard. Ramdisk and a few drivers are the only things that need changes i think. But im not a developer by any means, so that could be wrong as hell. You could send a link of the repo to christopher, but i guess he's busy with other things.
P.S: Blefish is an awesome developer, i saw much stuff from him in github when we (DevCon) developed the 3.4 kernel for the AriesVe. I think he even contributed to our repos but im not a 100% sure.

[Kernel] CopyCat-Kernel [v4]

Hey guys,
Ive modified the Stock CyanogenMod kernel with some of the features i cant live without This is not a replacement for iodak or werewolf, play etc this is just my own little project. As the name implies, im simply taking some of my favorite features from the various kernels here while attempting to keep it as close to stock as possible
Latest Version: CCK4.1

Older Versions:
CCK4

So far it has:
# Fast-Charge (faster usb port chargers)
# Additional CPU governors ( wheatley, HYPER, lulzactiive and smartassV2 )
# CPUQuiet
# Unlinked GPU / CPU
And more!
As above all thanks goes original devs mainly Demetris, iodak and laufersteppenwolf,
The usual disclaimer, I do a bit of testing to make sure of basic stability, but even if its stable on my device it might not be on yours. im not responsible for damages etc etc

Thank you. Flashed. Testing on Vanir 27/11/2013...
EDIT: 1° Impression _ CPU Load ver very low. CPU Quite in balanced very usefull for battery with 1 or max 2 processor . Userspace for 4 cores. Max Mhz to 1500 no OC to 1700. Now i charged phone to 100% and i will test it with BBS for tonight. For now, with ONLY check with TricksterModDonate it's SUPERB !
Only one suggestion for future: Add WESTWOOD TCP CONGESTION . It's the best.
EDIT 2: Problems with connection 3G/2G for internet ... no connection and check in loop to reconnect but nothing ... Rebooted 2 times but similar problem ...

For now i must return to MoKee AnyKernel for internet problem . For Governor: SmartAssv2 on balanced set 1 core to max frequency, always. Is that the real function ? I hope that problem,of internet connection, can be resolved because for first impression CopyCat is very very interesting.

[KERNEL][G800F][EXYNOS] DMPKern/TardisKern G800F LP Edition

UPDATE 06/03/16
ok eventually a new updates out folks, been trying to get some things fixed before releasing this one
changelog
Code:
few small performance tweaks
cpu voltage control enabled(see below)
DT2W active in kernel (disabled by default to save battery)
fading leds enabled
i have created a cm13 zip too now for all those asking, but i have not tested it so if anyone wants to test please let us know what happens. - f2fs should work for /data but again has not been tested
cpu voltage control and DT2W can be used and enabled respectively using the included custom built kernelAuditor app that will be automaticly installed when the zip is flashed. this build is the ONLY build that will work with voltage control and DT2W due to the way the various paths required are set out in non-standard locations.
1.7Ghz overclock is VERY experimental and may not work for you depending on your device
cpu max allowable voltage is 1600mv and lowest is 600mv (those of you who understand undervolting will need to know that)
download links:
those of you using my Pac-rom build their will be a new version going up later which has this same kernel baked in
thanks and please report issues.
-------------------------------------------------------
im back again folks, sorry for the delay with this but had some personal things ive been dealing with.
im now proud to announce a new DMPKern Kernel(previously known as TardisKern)
this kernel is designed for samsung 5.1.1 currently (i need to make boot images for cm12/13) and has a lot of new features
changelog
Code:
1.7Ghz CPU overclock - by default device is set to 1.4ghz on boot and the higher freqs can be used by using an app such as kernel auditor - use 1.7ghz sparingly as i have not tested it 100%
600mhz GPU Overclock
OTG SUPPORT!!!!
Loads of I/O Schedulers (noop, deadline, cfq, bfq, sio, fifo, zen, vr, fiops, row, sioplus, tripndroid)
Equally Huge List of CPU Schedulers (zzmoove, preservative, conservativex, alucard, darkness, nightmare, wheatley, ondemandplus, dancedance, conservative, ondemand, userspace, powersave, interactive, bioshock, lionheart, performance)
kernel updated to version 3.4.110
F2FS Support baked in for a f2fs formatted /data partition (see below for details)
Notification led Brightness Increased
Ultra-Kernel SamePage Merging(UKSM)
build with Hyper Linaro 5.1 toolchain with graphite enabled for performance increase
Based off the latest samsung LL Kernel sources
ok i know thats a massive changelog but im sure loads of you have heard of F2FS and are wondering just what it is,
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F2FS thats a quick rundown of what F2FS is,
the most important thing is it makes a noticable and quick serious improvement to overall performance for apps. with a f2fs formatted /data partition.
next thing your going to be asking is 'how do i format data to f2fs and will i lose any data'
the simple answer is you need to use a compatible recovery which has f2fs format support(such as newer versions of TWRP), and yes you will lose data but no you wont if you do it correctly.
[strong]But the TWRP Recovery i have doesnt work with F2FS?[/strong]
no the currently released TWRP build for G800F does not support F2FS, BUT..... i am releasing a brand new build of TWRP 3 after this post that does support it. and all you need to do to keep your data is backup the data partition to a microsd in twrp tehn format it as f2fs and restore the backup which does work even though twrp warns it may not..
ok so enough of this babble
download links for kernel:
THIS IS A ODIN IMAGE, DOWNLOAD AND EXTRACT THE ZIP THEN FLASH WITH ODIN
instructions for f2fs conversion will be included in the twrp post

Can't wait for it, I will try it with CM13 when you will release it. But, for now, does it drain more battery than stock kernel? (cause overclocking). Also, is the system stable with it?

seems to be quite stable (cpu overclocking is not active at all times only if it is specifically set, and with the different cpu scheds you can gain battery life without much if any performance hit too)
cm13 boot img ill probably do tomorrow

@DJ_Steve What about this kernel for CM13?
im a bit reluctant to make a image for cm13 as this newer samsung kernel seems to cause some touchscreen issues that im still looking into at moment
Could you watch if at every time you reboot the phone (with this kernel) you have to enable WiFi connection please? Because I don't know why, but at every time I power on my phone, I have to enable again WiFi while it was automatically enabled before

@abdou1241 I also have this problem. It's really annoying connect manually the phone to WI-FI everytime. However I tested the phone with this kernel and did an Antutu Benchmark at 1.7GHz.

I tried to fix it but could not. Have you also a smart manager alert?
Is the phone better with this kernel than cm13 or not?

To be clear, I flashed this Kernel at 6pm(now it is 10:30pm), so I can't say if it's better than CM13. However I'm impressed that whit this kernel it reach the same score and whit 100+ in 3DBench. Yes, I had a Smart Manager Alert. You can disable it rooting your phone, see wich application say this thing and delete it with Root Explorer.

For the wifi issue check /system/build.prop for a line relating to secure storage and set it to false then reboot (will need root and some form of root capable file manager to do this) i think i forgot to add this change wen i made kernel image

I also noticed that there's a bug with the earphone/headphone jack. I inserted my earphone in the audio jack but I didn't hear nothing because the audio was still exit from the rear speaker of the phone.
Will you fix these problems?

Android M Root Method thread.

I think we can help each other in this thread.
This methods i have tried and cant get root
- arter97 method (installing old bootloader and twrp or philz) systemless 2.67
If you know or get success in any method please share. I can try

I tried the method from this site. It did not work. In fact, it caused a lot of FCs and significant slowness on boot up.
http://www.gammerson.com/2015/11/how-to-root-galaxy-note-5-on-marshmallow.html
I installed official N920C MM on my N920T following this guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmo...l/guide-how-to-install-android-6-0-1-t3319144
Just wait for either Chainfire or kernel source release. I've tried everything and emptied my bag of tricks. When source is released, I can compile a permissive kernel with rooting restrictions disabled. Be patient, it's only been a few days.
Thank you for info @UpInTheAir
We'll have to wait then. I made a inqury to samsung too.

You can't. You now have to wait.
Custom (stock) root success !!
Custom (stock) kernel root success !!
Enforcing kernel
Deep Sleep fix
Full root
No heating issues
No apparent issues
Will have new SkyHigh 6.0.1 kernel thread open later today in the Original Development forum
Initial release will be as "stock" modified as above. Further releases may be "permissive" and work to building with SkyHigh 5.1.1 features
Will take some time, as it's compiled from source, I need to publish my full source (even with minor changes, to remain GPL compliant). So required to commit to gitHub
