TWRP HTC Desire 626s a32ul/a32eul - Desire 626 Android Development

Hello. I have what is a result of me trying to compile a build of TWRP for the HTC Desire 626s TMOBILE VARIANT!! the device model is a32eul. I cannot test this because i lent my phone to a friend who just trashed his phone. Anyone who is willing to test build i would really appreciate it. This build is from captain_throwback's source for the a32e.
To check your device model check download mode for a32e, a32eul etc
If you ave a SPRINT HTC Desire 626s (a32e) then just use this twrp its fully working.
EDIT:Captin_Throwback has very kindly made a new TWRP for the T-MOBILE HTC DESIRE 626s (a32eul) this also appears to function on the boost 626s
https://basketbuild.com/filedl/devs...sire 626s/Recovery/TWRP/twrp-3.0.0-2-a32e.img
Also, if these dont work you can try the official twrp.me

well i backed up my system and data aswell as restored it after unsuccessfully flashing sandix's rom

Looks like the external SD Card is not being read properly.
If you need to know, the external SD device is /dev/block/mmcblk1
The external SD Card should mount from /dev/block/mmcblk1p1
EDIT: Nevermind, for some reason my sd card was not in all the way.
so far this TWRP looks legit. Everything I have tested works:
Backup Restore
Flashing a blank zip (With a simple hello world output)
ADB Sideload
etc.

Thanks for your input guys I really appreciate it
I'm now working on a CWM recovery and çm12

I also have the a32eul although its the metro version. and the twrp works good besides system wont mount otg wont and neither will external sd.
Although the look is nice sleek and way better then the stock look......
UPDATE!!!
lol maybe an issue with my phone but I repaired both partitions system and externalSD and they mounted just fine

Can someone please test this build of TWRP for me and let me know if it boots and if everything works? A recovery.log would also be appreciated, if indeed it does work. I'm trying to consolidate the recovery builds for all variants (somehow) so no matter what variant you have, if you could test it, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

It's very possible it won't work, so make sure you have a working version handy.

t-mobile US here, let's try it! none of the other TWRP recoveries have worked for me whatsoever; just pulses the vibrate twice and reboot normally after waiting at the red text warning screen. the cyanogen recovery works fine, however.
...flashing...
...flashed successfully...
...rebooting to bootloader...
...rebooting to recovery mode...
...this build is for development purposes only blah blah...
...and normal reboot. no joy here
download mode stuff that might be relevant:
*** unlocked ***
htc_a32eul PVT S-ON
OS- 1.23.531.3
and strangely, the most recent modification to anything in my recovery logs is 2016-02-21... that was almost a week ago...

It seems the problem is that the kernel source is too old. Someone should bother HTC to provide updated source. I can see no other reason why it shouldn't work.

I've attached a screenshot of my system info. Only thing that works for me is cyanagenmod recovery.

Has anyone been able to instal TWRP on Virgin Mobile Desire 626s a32ewhl ?
Tried Sprint Variant, but it boots to stock one with that red message for development purposes only.
Any help is appreciated.

FYI - Official TWRP has been updated, so you don't have to use my version anymore (though they're essentially the same):

EDIT: If there was a 626s-specific section, I might even open a thread, but since there isn't, I guess you'll have to add a link to the OP .

Very Urgent help needed - Stuck in bootloader

I flashed Revolution HD, the latest version and when the phone re-booted it went to bootloader.
I managed to flash TWRP again and im in there, however I need to put a ROM on the phone and cant copy one on there
any ideas? adb says device not found, not sure if im doing something wrong
try fastboot devices
You can try this to sideload a rom.

Okay, managed to get ADB working. For some reason it doesn't work on USB3 ports :S
Sideloaded a ROM, but I got no network signal, and it restarted itself within about 2 mins.
I have re-locked, and am running RUU now, if this doesn't work what shall I do?
Okay the RUU worked fine. Thanks for the help guys!
Latest versions on intl. roms are 4.2.2. They won't work on sprint. Since there is no sprint support the updater script wipes our radio and boot partition because they have a different partition table than we do. It's just f.y.I so you know what went wrong

Yeah I realised, but the text in the post is VERY misleading.

Maybe its just me being crazy, but I assumed anything later would work, to me that sounded like everything below 9.4 would not.
Diddo
The exact thing happened to me!!! the ARHD posts are very misleading!! I also had to do a RUU on it.. it made me made cause i really wanted that rom. Have you found any other ROM with 4.2.2 that will work with sprint htc one? I cant find anything.

[Q] Constantly restarting at welcome screen

Hello guys,
I'm in a bit of a pickle here....
I've got a HTC One which I've rooted and unlocked though not S-Off by the looks of things and I had SinLess rom installed fine, it started playing up so I though I'd update it. Bung the new one version on there via sideload and install... Marvelous.
Only now, it gets to the welcome screen as silly ol' me did a factory wipe as well as all cache and after about 5 seconds of Welcome - Choose language. It restarts.
I then decided to try a new rom, so grabbed Android Revolution. To no avail either....
On bootloader it shows as HBOOT - 1.54
S-On
**TAMPERED**
**UNLOCKED**
What can I do to actually get a working rom on this thing?
If there is any more details I need to give please say so as this is my first time flashing something as complicated as this. All my old android devices were far far simplar :crying:
- Here's the facepalm moment - I didn't do an nandroid backup due to it not working and I wanted to put a new ROM on there so I didn't look into getting it working. If I could injure myself I would.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. :good:
Kind regards, Ian.

Yeah, after attempting to install 3 different roms.
Sinless, ARHD and SkyDragon, I'm going to try a different recovery as I'm currently using TWRP 2.6.3.3 and I know there is an update but also I want to see if CWM can do anything with the 6.0.4.3 version....

Hello,
To no avail, after trying different recoveries, nothing.
Looks like I've got a metal slab...
It just keeps restarting itself at the welcome screen, the only other thing I can think of would be to fully wipe EVERYTHING on the phone but I'm not sure that's too good of a move either...
Argh.
You have to be s-off to run these Roms

[Q] Messed up my HTC ONE M7 (BIG PROBLEM)

Hello guys !
So i will try to keep this short but i have to give you all the details regarding my problem. I was an iOS user for almost 4 years but now i switched to Android. I currently own an HTC One M7 (since july 2014). The phone was brand new and came with android 4.4.2 installed. Recently (2 weeks ago) i updated my phone to 4.4.3. Everything was just perfect. But then i found out about rooting and all the endless modifications so i said i should give it a try. I rooted my phone (and unlocked the bootloader) and installed TWRP 2.6.3.0. Now it gets a little bit more complicated. I tried to turn the S-OFF but couldnt do it and entered in TWRP (by mistake i guess) . From there i had the urge (again i made a mistake) to format everything and i formated even the OS. Thing is after that my phone was bricked. Couldn't connect it to the computer (Linux or windows no matter what i tried the phone wasn't recognised by any PC). So i grabbed an OTG cable and managed to install an operating system named "Guru_Reset_M7_2.24.161.1.zip" from an RUU collection . So i finally managed to install an OS onto my phone and i was happy that my phone wasn't bricked anymore. But then i realised i downgraded to 4.2.2 and the OS is pretty crappy. Besides the WIFI is not working properly all the time , the camera doesn't start and cannot update to 4.4.3 . I have to mention that i don't have any recovery saved or backup. Now i tried to lock the bootloader and gain the S-OFF again but couldn't do it. The thing is i can't enter in recovery , i can't install a custom ROM on my phone and cannot update to the latest (4.4.3) stock htc one android. I need your help because i don't know what to do anymore. I tried to gain S-OFF with rumrunner , moonshide and revone and still no luck. My phone is now recognized by my PC and i can enter the adb devices from command prompt so i guess that is a good thing. But the bad thing is that i can't enter in recovery (it just gives me a black screen with a red triangle and an exclamation sign). I am pretty much a noob but i learned alot about android in the last 3 days. Please help me because i don't know what to do anymore i feel drained exhausted and sad. I just want a normal OS that can run properly on my phone and use my camera and WIFI at maximum proficency (as intended). If i can't run a custom ROM at least help me to revert back to stock and get updates for my OS. Thank you for listening !!

That's difficult.
The correct way would be to go S-Off and do a RUU.
But it seems you cannot get S-Off. Did you install the latest HTC Drivers and latest adb and fastboot version?
And your CID would be helpful too.
You can get it with this app: Simple CID Getter

Unfortunately that did not work. I am still S-ON .
If all you need is a custom recovery so you can flash a 4.4.2 rom then I suggest just doing so. Pretty sure ViperOne 6.2 is 4.4.2 and works wonderfully, 7.x is a different story. I have seen a lot of issues with folks attempting s-off on hboot 1.57. If your goal is functionality I suggest reading up on TWRP 2.7.1.1 (seems to work best with ViperOne) and then getting yourself a ViperOne 6.2 from the previous version on their thread.
Was reading OP again, if you had 4.4.3 working fine there is no reason you can't just flash the viper 7.1 or any other 4.4.3 rom. If you formatted you recovery partition you just need to fastboot another one in there. Unless I am missing something?
I finally managed to repair the recovery (i reinstalled TWRP recovery again as if the phone was not rooted) and now it's working. Still need to turn the S-OFF (im S-ON right now) but i can't do it. If you know a ROM that does not require to have S-OFF then please tell me. Thanks in advance
No "rom" requires s-off. I personally use ViperOne 7x on my 4.4.3.
Edit: You can try CM11, I did not like the feel of CM or PAC or any AOSP Rom on my M7, this is only a personal preference, they work. You mentioned the camera, For this I suggest staying on a more stock rom like ViperOne or any other for that matter per the camera on the AOSP is not tip top, functional, but seen better days.
Honestly, you can not do much harm so flash and flash away until you find one you like and that meets your needs. Just take care when formatting any partitions the only three you need worry about really is cache, data and system <-- this ones your rom.
I downloaded ViperOne and attempted to install it. After extracting the files in twrp installer to 100% it gave the message that some elements have failed. Now the phone boots only in TWRP recovery. that's horrible. I am now installing the old guru OS that i previously had.

Didn't say what failed did it? You might want to try using recovery to format you system, cache and data.. Sounds like you have had a rough time with it and there could be some garbage left behind.
Edit: When you say extracting.... Are you choosing to install the zip and going through the Aroma installer prompts?
Yeah i was going through the aroma installer and hit next next (selected all the apps i needed) and then i hit install . Then it says that the files are extracting and i have to be patient (because it will take like 10 minutes). and after the extracting was completed (showing 100% ) it said that something something failed. And i rebooted the device but i was surprised to see that the phone went into the recovery mode (the old OS dissapeared or couldnt boot it) and i had to reinstall the old guru OS. This os is friggin garbage. Camera still wont work and wifi is still crappy. I tried to install CM11 (before trying the viperone) but couldn't load it. Dont know why but it failed from the beggining of the install. Maybe is something wrong with the kernel (i have no idea what that is and what to do to change it - or if i should ).

First thing, the reason that viperone didn't install was because of the version of TWRP you are using. You need to use the latest version for it to work
Secondly, CM11 does not flash at all in TWRP. You need to use CWM recovery (Google it and you will find the recovery file to flash).
To achieve s off is difficult on hboot 1.57 - some users have reported success with various methods. One namely installing CM11 and running firewater. If you get a Whelp this sucks message nothing you can do other than using sunshine app (Google root ninja). This will cost you $25 but honestly, with all the hard work these guys put it to make obtaining s off so easy it's worth it. Plus to restore your phone back to working order again!
For sunshine to work you need a stock(ish) ROM like ARHD/ViperOne and run the app. It checks the phone to make sure it'll work then redirect you to pay for the app. Good luck!
Well.. when you flash your custom it comes with a boot.img which is your kernel so it can't really be that. Kinda makes wonder, you can flash the 4.2.2 which won't match the current installed firmware and is why your camera,WiFi,mms and who knows what countless other things don't work. But fails to install the others... What variant are you?
Edit: That information in the OP did you get it from "fastboot getvar all"? if not can you post one of those here, dont need serial or IEMI

It shouldn't be that difficult since you now have S-OFF. Only patches will be required IMO to get it running, so you should request u-ra(the developer of CM12 for our device).

I used SUInstaller from the same guys who do sunshine. worked fine for me.
How did you get TWRP installed? I can't seem to get it to work.
As for installing the current build, not really sure I want to do that, since I don't have a backup phone to use right now.
I had to use a different TWRP from the official website for the HTC One Remix. I can't seem to get SU installed... The package from the Sunshines guys just reboots my phone and doesn't do anything, while flashing through TWRP has no errors, but doesn't do anything either...
This is where I got TWRP:

That's where I looked too. did you do the fastboot install? I'm trying the app from the store, but it doesn't list the device.
also, interesting. the SUInstaller worked on mine, but it is hit and miss. not sure how to root it otherwise.
Yes, I just did the fastboot install. Just realized I wasn't following the SUinstaller instructions preoperly. Works now!

glad to hear!
ill have to do the fastboot TWRP when I get home.
not sure what is needed for the One Remix to get CM12 support. HTC has the kernel source for the M7 and M8 online(and even the one Max), but not the remix.
It doesn't seem like a whole lot should be done. The hardware ought to be very similar to the HTC One Mini 2, just has to be adjusted for CDMA rather then GSM.
I tried to flash the current CM 12 build, but TWRP complains about the code-names not matching, and the update script failed. I then had to restore from a backup to get it to boot up to the original firmware.
csoulr666 said:
It shouldn't be that difficult since you now have S-OFF. Only patches will be required IMO to get it running, so you should request u-ra(the developer of CM12 for our device).
Did you try to flash the current build?

Could everyone please stop suggesting One Remix owners try flashing One Mini 2 stuff? It's not gonna work. Ever.
While they probably share >90% of the same features, they're not the same device.
One Remix won't be getting CM builds until someone starts working on it. Given that CM has a policy of not maintaining devices you don't own, it's not gonna be me.

what is needed to work on a build? I would be interested, but not sure If i need kernel source or device specific drivers. neither of which HTC dev supplies for the One Remix.
It doesn't appear to be much. I've been digging through the CM Porting Guide, and specs on the phones and they appear pretty similar. They both have the same SoC (Qualcomm Snapdragon 400) and GPU (Adreno 305), but the Remix has 1.5GB RAM instead of 1GB. Haven't had a chance to compare the partition schemes, but Verizon might have made them different... Some things need to be changed in the source of the Mini 2 to make it compatible, but the Kernel should be fine.
What about the Radios? does the difference in Radio CDMA vs GSM change anything major. I'll take a look at the porting guide and see if I can get something booted.
https://github.com/kfechter/android_device_htc_memwl
I forked the memul build of CM and renamed it. any help in grabbing stuff from the Remix would be great (kernels, drivers, recovery images)
One more update.
I've asked HTC for kernel source for the one remix. hopefully HTCDev actually comes through and provides it. hopefully also for Lollipop.
I don't think there is a separate kernel source for the Remix. On the cyanogen wiki for the HTC One Mini 2, they are just using the kernel source for the M8. That should work fine for the Remix also.

I did see that. I've been editing the build files and device information that I forked from the one mini 2 device repo. I've been having issues with the repo sync for actual cyanogenmod though(my repo is just the specific device properties). I'll work on it when I can, but I'm also working on intelligent vision stuff and schoolwork.
Also, Need to figure out what to change to get the CDMA radio support, and need to grab the partition tables from my device.
Is there somewhere I would be able to restore the stock rom from in case something goes horribly wrong?

How do you install the twrp img file from fastboot? I've rooted my remix and am with you guys in the search for a Rom or help building one. Just need to get a recovery installed. Have SuperSU installed as well, thanks

Yes, in TWRP you can make a backup of your current partitions (It just dumps the current partition to IMG files), then if you have a problem you can just restore back from those files.

First, download the TWRP build from the TWRP website, the one in this forum is for the Mini 2 and won't work with the Remix. Then boot your phone into fastboot mode and run "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img" on your computer. Then reboot, and after when you select recovery from the bootloader it should open TWRP.
When I boot into fastboot usb, i enter the command to flash recovery and it says error cannot load twrp.img BUT when i type the same command but add USB after fastboot it loads the commands list. Still cant get it to load. The file name in the Android-adb file is twrp.img as well. Ive done everything correct as far as I know. Any input would be appreciated. thanks.

I figured it out.
Went into file Android-adb and did shift right click open command window here. typed the command and it worked on the first try. now its time to develop a rom and make this phone worth something!

Sweet! How do I install it?
Well, that depends on one thing. Are you S-OFF or S-ON?
If you don't know what this means, then you're S-ON.
If you're S-ON
1. Download the ROM zip to your computer.
2. Extract the "boot.img" from the zip file.
3. Put the zip file on your device and flash it in TWRP.
4. Reboot the device to fastboot mode and, on your computer, flash the boot image you extracted to your device by issuing the command "fastboot flash boot boot.img"
5. Reboot normally
If you're S-OFF
1. Place the zip on your device and flash in TWRP
2. Reboot normally

No problem.
I added another disclaimer to the OP, basically saying that it's not quite daily-driver material yet, just in case anyone decided to skip over the issues list.

Please make sure that the MD5 of the zip you have is the same as the MD5 that I have posted in the OP. What is the error exactly?

Appreciate your work man. you're a 16 yr. old badass in my book.
Prepare yourself though for lots of headaches from the many many users who just wont take the time to read your instructions. Never seen anything like it during my time here on XDA.
What you have done so far is remarkable (you too Mr. Mike) I can wait for stabilization if it comes, if not no biggie. You'll never hear a complaint from me bro.
You need anything, just ask. I'm available to those who are serious like yourself (you too Mr. Mike )
Anyways, thanks buddy. For everything.

I'll talk more to my Cricket tester and see if he has the same issue.
EDIT: I updated the OP and added this.

Thanks! This is actually further than I initially envisioned myself making it. It's fun to do this type of stuff actually. I bought my 510 off-contract and never activated it, with the intent of just doing this stuff to it.

Love the progress. This rom is awesome. I have two HTC Desire 510's. After reading the "Not Working Section" I realized that data doesn't work on virgin mobile just yet. So, I will re-install this rom on my non activated one and follow your progress until calls, messaging and camera works. Then, I will install it on my activated one. But, thumbs up my friend. You beat MIUI to the punch in getting a modern rom started for this device. They still work on dinosaur HTC device roms. LOL!!
when will this be stable this rom looks awesome keep up the good work
Man r3pwn killin it!! Amazing work my dude mad props too! Goin test this out later on my vm desire, thanks r3pwn!

I must have done something wrong when installing. LOL!! I'm not an expert at flashing. So I don't doubt that I did something wrong. Ok, i'm gonna go back and retrace my steps on the flash and make sure I didn't miss any steps. Wait, I think I did. Is the boot image that needs to be extracted from the zip for those of us who are still s-on does that mean it needs to be completely out of the zip and then flashed in fastboot? If so, that is were I messed up at. And when whipping, do we factory whip or advance whip? Just wanna make sure. If I can at least get calls and text working, I'll be fine.

You can leave the zip as it is, you just have to make sure that you flash the boot image in fastboot. When I wipe, I usually pick "Advanced Wioe" and wipe system, data, cache, dalvik-cache and sometimes even internal storage.
will this work with boost mobile ?? i 1.
5. Reboot normally that all went great ! but cant - Call , Text ,

Hey, you are doing fine. No complaints here. I know from experience that it takes time to get these roms fully running. Plus, I'd rather you be in good spirit while working on this masterpiece. :fingers-crossed::victory:
