plz HELP......K3 Note not turning On,not charging - K3 Note Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Actually last week mistakenly while washing my pant i forgot to remove the k3 note. It was in the washing machine for around half an hour. I took at the local service center to remove the water content. since last 5 days he tried to turn it ON, but its not turning ON.
The problem is,
-Developer mode is not activated,
-Debugging mode is not turned ON,
-Not rooted yet, No CWM.
-Its not charging when connected to charger.
-(IMP) Only when i connect it to PC, it once connects and again disconnects.
Could anyone please help me in this.....

It doesn't matter that if ur device is rooted or not or developer mode is on or not .. Just think How would it work anyway after it was in washing machine for half an hour ??? If customer care can't repair it then ur device is dead !!! There's no other way except buying new one and throwing this one in junkyard.. Even Sony/Motorola which make waterproof phones also say to their customers that there is certain limit for their phones been taken under water that's why there are IP certifications for parameters of depth and time !!! And k3 note is not even water proof so how can u expect that it shud work after been dropped in water ...

i searched up google and it tells me that red dot is indicator of water damage to phone..... after drying up i can boot phone... it is turning on... i havent tested other functions cuz i found some more water so i left it to dry..........
i will take it to samsung tomorrow and hope for best...
Please take a picture of the red dot. I wanna see it.
And maybe we can put a waterproof sticker over the red sticker so that when the phone actually does fall in water it won't turn red. Then remove the waterproof sticker and give it to the service center.

Oh you are that Delhi guy. Remember me
And for your phone.
Did you tried downloading mode. If working flash the stock rom. Then took it to Samsung guys.
But I think you should let it dry first fully and try your luck.
Better try with a dryer after removing the battery.
Yeah better let it dry first. I think putting the phone in a bowl of rice helps as well.
Edit: This might help.

Warranty is void anyway because of the awesome red dot stickers, so you could have told him since you'll be paying for the repair. But if telling CM7 is just an app worked then that is going to help a lot of Mini users claim their warranty. Thanks for sharing, man.

You referring to the current situation (Water damage, but Phone's working) or a fully bricked state.
And, they think Kies software would detect the Phone with a fully bricked state?
And if the phone is working, how much time would it take to look on "About Phone" section. From there, the Service Centre guys could easily detect whether Custom ROM is installed or not.

There is no waranty that covers water damage to the phone. Only phone insurance wich i doubt you have. If they inspect your phone, they will void your waranty because no matter how much you dried it, water leaves marks. Anyway, if the screen is ok and the phone boots up, you wont have to pay that much for the reparation.

You may be right that they can check in "About Phone".
But I have witnessed cases that the service center guys acts like totally idiot and can be easily fooled.
I think most of them don't have knowledge and they just do a GOOGLE SEARCH.
Once I told them to repair my headphones just after 7 days of purchase they asked me to give my phone, I asked Why?
They (she)replied: we have to check phone. She typed some number on the dial *#*#1234...something and some other number to get details.
I even asked them to upgrade it to gingerbread from froyo and i gave my phone.
Then next day I came to get my phone with repaired headphones
and those foolish! Mad ass people reflashed muy phone with what: froyo over froyo and i lost everything.
I asked (in anger) why did you reflashed with old one. In that they said gingerbread is not yet available.
As far as for flashing they surely used kies.

[Q] My W8 fell in the water, can it be found if the warranty is voided?

Hello.
My phone was in my pocket when I entered a beach. I realized it, I ran out of the beach, I took it out, but it had absorbed some water.
Stupidly, I tried to turn it on. It started with an unending vibration. For 3 tried, the same vibration occurred.
Then, it stopped.
I separated both the battery and the circuit board.
I tried turning it on once in a while. It didn't work.
So, I'm probably going to have to give the mobile to the Service Center.
But, will they find out if the mobile has it's bootloader locked/unlocked when the mobile is so screwed?
And, if so, how can I relock it?
Thank You.

I have no idea dude
but if your phone can turning on u can relock it with s1 tool..
u can check if the flash-modes working (turn off phone and press back button while plug in to PC )
hope can help your prob
Actually, if your phone couldn't be turned on, you don't need to worry about this because they can't check your phone if the phone's bootloader is unlocked.
And i'm sure that the phone will not turn on again
but there sure can find that it was damaged due to water and you are out of warranty then. they don't cover physical damages due to user's mistake.

Xperia tipo:thumbup:
Price Slightly more than X8 but awesome!
:flipoff2: DEVILS NEVER CRY:flipoff2:
Tipo is actually good. Surprisingly it can run ICS smooth with only a 800 MHz processor.
It is a good alternative to X8 with almost the same price. And, it will depend on the support on xda !
Anyway, will decide.
Thanks a lot !
I've heard that if you keep you phone in a bowl of dry rice for a few days , the rice absorbs water and the phone gets fixed. Sounds silly , but you could give it a try. :silly:

But I think It was on when it fell in water or the water was inside when op tried to ON it & the motherboard must have been short circuited due to water..

Yeah, I did try to turn it on too quick. The vibrating sound may be the reason for a short circuit.

[Q] Phone deosn't boot :( Possibly hard bricked?

Hey, i was taking some under water photos during my weekend trip. All my ports were closed before i put my mobile in the water. Suddenly my camera app stopped working & booted in to safe mode. I was sure it was less than 30mins & as soon as i came out of the water i noticed all my ports changed in to red color. After a few hours the phone stopped working & i tried to draining the water with rice method. It's been 48years still my phone is not turning on.
When i connect it to a pc/charger, it does turn on for few secs with the red led & turns off with 3vibrations.
Nothing works, except that. I guess it is hard bricked. Is there any solution to fix my phone or back my data?
Regards
Let the phone dry just in case there is still water in it, try it after the next day and see what happens.

XZ Waterproofing
Hello bro's, Just do take note that the rubbers on the flaps degrades as used. If one uses the power flap and the earphone flap often, then the waterproofing will be less and less reliable.
Though i have used this quite a number of times under water before 1 meter, i used it while it's still a few months old, but i dare not use it after long use.
Power button, if you want it prolonged, use a software such as SCREEN OFF AND LOCK on play store. It will pro-long the button's maximum time before failure. (MTBF)

Glad I read this thread. I had a feeling that using buttons as a shutter wasn't a good idea whilst underwater. I think Sony need to reiterate this is water RESISTANT, not water proof.

That's a very good point to make, will add that to the OP of my resource thread. Might be worth trying to modify the ports with some tape to give a tighter seal, especially if you're one of these People who insist on doing what's recommended not to or push the boundaries of a devices required limits.
The most amount of water my Z has seen so far is a few splashes of rain and wouldn't dream of sticking it in a glass of water to show off or actually take it into a swimming pool or the sea just because the IP rating says I should in theory be able to.
It's hard to have sympathy for some People.
I think the only way is to bring it down to sony service centre

[Q] Is it lost?

I dropped my galaxy GT-I9100 in water during my vacation. The next few hours all function returned and I used it for a full week. When I returned at hom I re-flashed the phone with I9300_Omega_v45.1_XXUFME3_md5_2588F4A59718C762E44E5DAE8C3380EB.zip Then almost nothing worked any more. It is stuck in boot. No recovery mode possible. Downloadmode is working (on screen in this mode: Odin mode, Product name: GT-i9100, Custom Binary download: no, current binary: samsung official). But it is not possible for me to connect with the pc and use Odin. Tried different cables and PC's.
In despair I brought the phone to a repair centre. They gave it a treatment against moisture. But they could not connect to the PC either. Even after renewing the USB port. They gave me the advise not to send it to Samsung because of the waterdrop. (to expensive).
Is it lost? Or ........?????
if someone here drop their fone in some....water, MAKE SURE take out battery n etc n dry it completely first (exactly one week without booting) to make sure board completely DRY before using

Wait, just to clarify,
So
1.) You have an I9100 (Galaxy SII)
And
2.) You flashed Omega rom (which is a Galaxy S3 rom)?
To help with the water damage, if you removed the phone immediately it should still be fine. Take the battery out, wipe down what you can with a towel, leave it for some time to dry. Put it in with some rice for a day, the rice acts as a moisture absorber. See if that fixes anything. Worst comes to worst, tear down the phone and check the water damage indicator. It should be a little coloured strip behind the internal back cover that turns pink (I think?) when water damage has been detected.
Although... If you flashed a rom made for the S3 onto the S2... Unless the same zip can be installed on the S2 maybe the problem doesn't lie with water damage at all...

Yeah, this can happen when you try flash a rom specifically for another device... There have been cases where the phone is killed completely...
Water damage, if treated quickly enough, won't affect your phone too much. One time my phone was half-submerged in water, with the microphone end in the water. Screwed up my home button for a few days, but now its fine.
Your problem here is flashing a rom for the wrong device (I thought the SII had its own version of Omega? Could be wrong). And that leads to much more serious problems.

Filed an fir already and i have asked sony customer care and they said they can't track the phone via imei :crying:
I would keep trying Android Device Manager. it's location may pop up when they switch it on or something.
sorry for you - but 20 hours of pleasure.

Describe how you were carrying your phone, pants pocket (front or back?) or top shirt pocket ?
Did you take it out and place it on a table somewhere and found it disappeared or did it disappear by pick pocket.
Try to think hard about this, if the same gang operates there, go back and hang out at that mall, chances are the same characters will be there again. Were you in a crowd at any time, with people close to you. waiting in a line with people really close. These are the places these guys can strike.
Had read how somebody lost his phone, picked out of his top shirt pocket, whilst waiting for a food order to arrive. So there is a crowd of people with hands going up and over your shoulder, gentle pushing & shoving. This is a great way to pull a phone out especially if you happen to be under 5 foot 10. It just takes a tap on the opposite shoulder to distract and the crook has lifted your phone already
For this to work it matters where you are facing, if you are looking away from your top shirt or pant pocket then its easy otherwise it won't work. These guys know this and pick their marks carefully.

They won't track it using the IMEI, but they can easily block the IMEI so it'll be a useless brick, and the thieves won't be able to use it on an Indian network (and possibly other foreign networks)

Yeah i do know but the thing is even they are having trouble blocking imei too i have been at service center for more than 3 hours simply useless they tried a lot but useless
Meh! I miss the good old nokia days... Where whatever you do(flash new firmware, factory reset, reformat) the security code just persists and won't let you use the phone until you key it in.

good questions, why is op ignoring this post...
plz help me
+Nikhilmendu how did your friend change his imei on his xperia L because I lost my imei on my Xperia l.Plz help nikhil
These apps, like android device manager etc are almost useless (useful only if the thief is a rookie) coz they will be desynced as soon as the email id is removed from mobile (via flash or any other way)
Regarding imei, try contacting all the network providers, i dont know if it will be easy task to do considering there are many providers plus you may need a strong source or reference to convince them, but when any mobile is connected to a network(and things like sms or call are sent from that mobile), its imei is sent to the database of the network to keep record...
