My phone isn't going into boot mode and won't turn on either. - Moto G 2014 LTE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My Moto G (2nd Gen) stopped charging 2 days ago. I tried every solution but it just wouldn't charge. So when it completely drained out, I got into boot mode and tried the recovery option. But the screen would just go black after I selected it.
I started the boot mode many times (by holding the volume down key and the power key) and it would show the different option, i.e., normal reboot, recovery, factory, etc.
Now, my device isn't even going into boot mode. I tried charging it for several hours and still nothing.
If I get it into boot mode, I will try to restore stock firmware and unbrick it. But first I need to get it into boot mode. Please help me. Thanks in advance.

[SOLVED]Can't boot to bootloader

I finally found solution! Bootloader on my phone isn't nearly same as usual one, no white screen, just a few lines which designate modes. 4 are present:
-normal boot
-fastboot
-recovery
-UART boot
I accessed it by pressing and holding power button and volume up button at the same time during device boot.
I hope someone with a same problem will find this helpful!
I managed to boot to system but I still can't get in bootloader. No combos and neither adb works.
I got my HTC One from second hand several days ago and I instantly noticed that something wasn't right. System was naked, no bloatware, no usual settings, no proper identification so I decided to install custom rom. I tried to boot to bootloader which I wanted to unlock(I guessed it's locked 'cause recovery is stock) with key combos, adb but it simply didn't boot to bootloader nor it rebooted or sometimes it went to factory mode which is on chinese. Again, I tried to find which version of phone I own but I can't figure it out. Moreover, I downloaded and put stock rom on virtual sd card and booted to recovery, opened menu with power button and selected to install package from zip just like it's said in thread but it outputted 'Install /sdcard...' and nothing else for past couple hours. Recovery isn't frozen, It shows\hides menu when power button is pressed. I tried to force shut down it by holding only\in combination with power button\volume buttons but nothing happens. I don't know what else to do...
Any help would be appreciated.
EDIT: It eventually discharged but when I turn it on with charger in it I get blinking white screen on every 3 seconds and when long pressing power button phone just vibrates. In combination with volume down it keeps blinking on every 3 secs and with volume up on every 5 seconds. To me, it looks like it's trying to boot but bootloader can't find anything installed. Computer is recognizing usb device on the moments when I connect it with usb just like when device is rebooting.

You have a fake phone
I agree, you've probably got a counterfeit One, but you can't flash custom roms from stock recovery anyway.
Firstly, thank you for any answer. How do you mean 'fake'?! I got it in original box and IMEI's are same(on box and device) What can I do with it then?
I tried to flash stock rom designed for stock recovery, at least that's how I understood.
MIDN07100 (Europe, a guy from which I got device claimed that it's from England so this should fit)
IMEI:354436053103493(same on device and on box, checked with IMEI checker it appears as valid HTC One device)

ok your phone is 100% recoverable if you can still get AP fasboot flash mode
i will sort instructions to help - as several ways to fix - 1st we try simple way
1) get to Ap fast boot mode (hold power and volume down until phone screen fully off and vibrates- count 1,2,3,4,5 and release release both button at same time - should be in AP fast boot mode)
2 use volume down (- ) minus to select recovery DO NOT touch power button
3) Use volume up (seems crazy but is the way) to enter recovery screen will go black
and the fallen android / red triangle comes up....
4) now hold power and quickly tap volume up... should enter recovery (this only works for lollipop) or for kitkat (use 4a)
4a)(optional for kitkat only) hold volume up and quickly tap power.... should enter recovery
5) in recovery volume down to wipe data/factory reset NOW use POWER to select (this take up to 5 mins to complete)
6) repeat with cache
7) reboot
phone should now work
Followed your steps

So I went recovery mode, did a factory reset and something strange happened..
It said ' E : can't ... /last log
E : can't ... /last call
E : can't .. /last ..
So i am assuming that it's something to do with motorola boot services, because it updated the day before this happened..
So now, I am trying to find the stock lollipop ota for my device and flash it!
Moto g 2nd gen stuck in boot
Hi everyone,
I have a moto g 2nd gen xt1064 us version, unlocked bootloader, code:3, the phone won't go past animation boot and blue motorola logo then shuts off. The screen turns black but i noticed a faint backlight on it and i have to press power button to completely shut it off.
Here is what i tried.
I booted into recovery and did a cache and data wipe, didnt work.
I flashed a stock firmware (5.02 btw) through fastboot with bootloader relock, everything went well, all steps successful but same result, wont go past anomation boot.
I noticed when i send lock bootlader command log says its successful but booloader is still unlocked
Any help would be appreciated and sorry for reviving this thread.

Flashed a entire original 6.0 ROM, no changes...
I have a Moto G2 and I woke up one day and it was off, when I tried to turn it on it wouldn't go past the "MOTOROLA" start up screen.
I have tried a soft reboot, hard reboot, factory reset, cache reset and I have done all of this with and without my SIM card in. I have done every step I could find but so far it won't move past. I know the phone itself is working because every time I call it my phone vibrates as if it were on. Is it time I just take it in or is there anything else I can do from home?
Happened to me too
This same thing just happened to my wife's Moto G 2nd Gen. When I try Wipe data/Factory reset, it says "formatting data...E: blkdiscard on partition /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc. 1/by-name/userdata failedData wipe failed"
Anyone ever seen this before?

Having this issue on my sister phone, I've had TWRP, I've managed to enter it, but I can't WIPE Data partition, I can't erase internal memory, cause it's giving me error, so I think the phone locked the mmc to read-only somehow...
Ok, so I've fastbooted to stock Marshmallow ROM (was on KitKat rom) but the phone yet have black screen of death, I think i'm gonna give it a shot and gonna open it up, remove the battery, let the phone without any charge and try again. Hope this helps.
Any other ideas?

Black screen

Hello
I have a big problem. My Moto X doesn't show my android homescreen/ system anymore. When I turn it off and on, I can see the boot animations and when they are finished the screen is black. I can press the power button and it only shows me the power menu, where I can choose to turn it off. So It booted successfully. I also receive messages. I also can entere the recovery menu and see everything. It's just android which won't show anything. Also tried to wipe cache but didn't work.
I know I could do a factory but there's an app which data I didn't backup and I need to keep that!
Is it possible to backup a completely without using the screen?
Moto X 2014 Q&A forum please...
Sent from my Moto X 2014
Sry I'm too upset right now that I didn't notice it. Could a mod move this thread, pls?
Have you tried booting into safe mode
I am having the exact same issue. Has anybody had a luck resolving it short of a factory reset?
My phone battery died last night. I plugged my phone in, let it get about 15% charge, then tried to turn it back on. The phone boots like normal, but after the boot animation goes away, the screen is black. Active notifications still seem to work, and I can hold the power button to get the Power Down option. I can boot into the bootloader & access recovery just fine. However, my phone is fully stock (no root, no bootloader unlock, no anything). I can't seem to access ADB when the phone is powered normally (ie, when I'm at this mysterious black screen), but it's possible that USB debugging isn't even enabled.
So far, I've found a bunch people who've said a full factory reset will fix the problem, but I'm looking for another solution, or at least a way to grab my data before I reset. Since my bootloader's still locked, I can't seem to use fastboot boot to boot into TWRP, and I can't find any other way to access my data to copy it off the phone. I've tried wiping the cache using the stock recovery to no avail. Any suggestions?

I need help lol after flashing in odin

Hi all, this is sadly my first thread in xda, sadly because two things: for being a help-ask thread and because the reason im posting it:
So i decided to flash the new ASIG firmware to my S10, and I don't know what went wrong because odin flashed all right. when i rebooted my device did the key combo to get into recovery mode but it didn't work. Can't pass from the first boot screen because it keeps rebooting
some info to feed your sugestions:
-i was rooted and running a custom rom (August securitypatch on BeyondRom)
-patched AP file in magisk
-ianmacd TWRP
I have tried to get it into download mode, recovery mode, normal OS, magisk boot.... nothing works it keeps rebooting. I remember the battery was like 60~70 % and have been like 7 hours and keeps rebooting.
Also i have tried to get it to boot in download mode waiting till screen goes black pressing voldown and bixby and catching the right moment to plug the cable in it and stops rebooting but doesn't boot either. If i press power button starts again rebooting and the same happen if i disconnect-reconnect or free-press any of the button combo even for one second...
so i have been tweaking my devices like 3 years and this is the first time i think i screwed up one, i always tought it was not possible (hope don't) but this time i think i made it
Do I? there is no fix?
i'm waiting to the phone gets fully discharged to see if powered off can i get it to boot into download mode and fla**** again
is there another way to get it to go into download mode? like old phones with the usb jig
it is a way to turn it off??
do you know what could be the reason to get in this state?
sorry for too much questions but i had a s7 edge before and i messed with it a lot, one day deactivated oem unlock, flashed wrong custom roms and broke it (software way) a lot of times and i always was able to get into download mode and fix it but this time i can't get it to work
so please help me and thanks for read and try to help (if anybody) lol r.r :crying::crying::crying:
FIXED
i'm happy to have been right, its hard to hard brick a device hehehe just after some minutes after (panic atack) post battery went out of energy pressed key combo comected cable to pc and booted un DM im sorprised because did not lost a byte of data
When the S9-S10 Starts bootlooping and won't go to DWNLD mode or Recovery, Just hold Power + Vol DWN + BIX for 5 seconds, release, repeat for ten seconds, release, Repeat,
After that the "upload mode" should appear. and you can just hold Power+Volume Down until the phone reboots. This time the keys will finally boot you into the desired mode...

bricked?

I was trying to go back to stock after having Lineage installed but it crapped out during the install. The tablet is now stuck on the SAMSUNG logo screen and it seems impossible to do anything to get around it. The only button combo options that work are power+vol down which reboots and power+vol down +home which puts it into download mode. I've tried reloading the stock firmware and twrp using Odin but it always results in the same, the tablet reboots then goes to the standard android update screen, says it's doing an update and then reboots and it's back to the SAMSUNG screen. Nothing I do gets me into recovery and while Odin connects I can't get ADB etc to.
Any suggestions other than throw it in a drawer and forget about it?
TIA
Ok I got further. I left the tablet for the battery to die, then fully charged it, plugged into the PC and then started with the recovery key combo and bingo got the No Command screen then the standard recovery options. Deleted the cache and did a factory delete/reset and it's alive again.
