Video casting from streaming (Using differents players) - Google Chromecast

Hi.
I have a very strange setup in head and I need confirmation before doing anything.
First of all, I wanted to know if I can cast videos using VLC or MXplayer (Or other ?) ? But not local videos, streaming videos (Using wifi).
After that, Can I use a Bluetooth Headset connected to my device without having trouble with audio coming from the cast ?
And finally, Is there better alternative to G Chromecast for what I want to do ?
Thanks for reading.

You want to stream from a local drive on your wifi system and cast to your pre-wifi/ethernet tv via Chromecast? Since I have my tv connected to my router, I don't normally cast local. However, Plex will allow you to create a library of your videos and the app allows casting. Fire stick also uses Plex. I'm sure there are other set-ups, but my local streaming is direct. In fact, I usually use Playstation media server (without the Playstation) via DLNA TV input. As for bluetooth, once you cast, audio is transferred to the viewing device. I have my audio running through an ancient 2-channel Onkyo receiver. I have a bluetooth transmitter in the headphone jack. I use Sony bt phones quite successfully.

Thanks for the audio on bluetooth help.
My files aren't on a local drive. Actually I'm playing streaming video from Video hosting service (Like Youtube, VideoMega, etc...) using HTML link in VLC or MXplayer.

Chromecast Audio Problem!

How to stream Video only to chromecast not the audio!
I have a laptop connected to the audio system!
now i got chromecast on my projector (have no audio output)
i stream video from my laptop to my projector work fine but i have problem the sound! when i stream any video to chromecast on my computer have to sound of the video im playing!
is there the way to by pass this? stream video but also on pc still play audio of that video?
When you use a native Chromecast app for casting, it "hands off" the request to the Chromecast and the Chromecast itself goes and retrieves the data. Essentially the Chromecast itself plays the content, so the audio and video come out of it.
If you cast a tab or the entire desktop from a PC and don't enable the audio, it should play audio from the PC, but the audio and video probably be out of sync.
Otherwise you will have to "break out" the audio from the HDMI stream with an HDMI audio extractor (make sure it is HDCP compliant) or other converter, or route the Chromecast through a HDMI A/V receiver so it can play the audio.
I apologize. I was incorrect. When you cast a tab or the entire desktop, the Chrome extension somehow mutes the PC audio... which in your case would leave you with no audio at all.
So you'll have to "break out" the audio from the HDMI stream and get audio that way.

Something like the options in the ling below may be what you need.

But in the setup the audio would have to go from this "box" to your audio system.
Chrome cast to "Box"
"Box" to projector for video
"Box" to audio system for audio
I have read that other have used a similar set up to get video and Audio to a monitor that doesn't have a HDMI input. I don't know if sending the Video to the projector and the audio the the audio system would produce sync problems. One way to find out.
I don't see a way to get audio out from you laptop using the Chromecast.
Hope this helps
I was just watching a video on my TV with VLC player using cast entire screen and audio through my PC worked fine, just had to set an audio delay in VLC to get audio synced. I did this thru my bluetooth stereo adapter but I thought there was a minute before I setup the bluetooth that the audio worked through the PC speakers.

It's one of the following...
1 - You need to change settings on the TV to pass Audio or to Use External Speaker (setting vary from model to model so some hunting and pecking for correct settings is in order)
2 - You need to check your HDMI connection between the TV and the Speakers. HDMI-ARC (Audio Return Channel) usually works on only one input of the TV and it should be labeled as an ARC input. If thats correct then check settings (see #1)
3 - If you have an older TV that does not have ARC support you need to connect an Optical Cable from the Audio Out of the TV to the Amp. If you have that then again See #1!
Take note that EACH INPUT on a TV will have it's own Settings for Audio, CEC, and ARC so just setting the TV defaults may not be enough. Check to see if your Inputs have their own Audio/Speaker config settings.

No Audio While Casting local files from PC Chorme Browser

Hi all,
First off, thanks for the help.
I'm trying to cast a local file from my PC to the TV in my living room. The video plays fine, but there is no audio stream to the TV. There is also no option to turn the audio on at all within the browser.
Any ideas what the issue or extension I need?
Thank you!

The Cast extension should automatically redirect audio to the Chromecast when casting a tab or the full screen.
Go to this page in Chrome

Cast the entire desktop to see if you get no audio at all, audio on TV, audio on computer, or audio on both?
Play a second then pause it. You should be able to determine if you get audio from the PC and TV, because the PC playback will be immediate, while the TV playback will follow a second or two later.
I get audio on both[/]b PC and TV doing this.
Now, cast just the tab and do the same.
I get audio only on the TV doing this.

If you are trying to view a MKV file, it will not have audio at this point.

Hi. I have I questions.

I have a projector and won't to send the video to it with a crime cast. But I don't won't the sound go to it. Instead I will send the sound to my sound system from the htpc Optical port. It this possible?

Got my answer.
Can I use my computer's speakers while casting to Chromecast?
While casting, audio will be redirected to Chromecast, so audio will play out of your TV, not your PC. Besides, even if you got the PC speakers playing audio, it would be out of sync with the video on your TV because of compression/decompression and network transfer delay between your computer and Chromecast.

Any way to force streaming instead of screen mirroring?

I often use Chrome to cast a video stream to my Chromecast. I am playing with a Win 10 laptop to a TV with the Chromecast plugged into it.
Sometimes, it comes through as screen mirroring (the video plays on both laptop and TV) and sometimes it casts directly through the Chromecast (the laptop switches to show a message that the video is casting, and the video only plays on the TV). I cannot figure out what triggers screen mirroring vs direct streaming through the Chromecast. Sometimes it will stream directly and then suddenly switch back to mirroring on the same video stream.
I would prefer to have the video stream directly through the Chromecast. The picture quality is better, less chance of audio lag, and less stuttering. Also, the laptop does not have to do all the work of rendering the video so it saves quite a bit on battery.
Anybody know how if there are ways to control this?
