From Bootloader - Android System Status: Custom - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 5

See pics. After unlocking I get a custom Android boot screen and the phone will not read any SIM. Appreciate if someone knows how to reverse this. Running Android 5.0 (can't root, install custom recovery, flash, or update from external storage).

WTH?
Did you unlock the bootloader?

No. AT&T and Verizon lock the bootloader starting with Android 5. I did find that the baseband version is "unkown", which is why the radio is not working or reading a SIM. See picture.

Hmmm
So your ril got corrupted some how is what it looks like to me.

What is "ril" the acronym for?
In any event, where can I get a stock 5.0 or higher ROM that I can hopefully flash from my sd card. All I'm seeing is 4.4.2. Apparently, the AT&T updates are OTA.

Hmmm
I'm out of town right now and can't find one on xda. Try sammobile.com. Don't try ro flash it via sdcard. Odin or adb sideload would be the way to go. I would also suggest rebooting into the built in recovery and resetting it that way.

Thank you. for the suggestions. Before posting the original thread I tried a factory re-set (volume up + home + power), as well as Odin, and neither worked.
AT&T has the bootloader locked tight on Android 5.0 and above.

Yes
That is unfortunately true. Where did you buy the phone? And do you live in the states?

Use Triangle Away apk.

It's US stock, original AT&T device. Worked fine with the exception of poor battery life after the 5.0 OTA upgrade untilit was unlocked.

[Q] Install OTA with rooted device.

I bought my HTC one a day ago, soon as I powered it up I rooted the device to use titanium backup properly.
After a few hours I realised that I was running 4.1.2 and there is a 4.2.2 out (I believe).
The OTA update didn't find anything. So here are my questions, assuming that the OTA update doesn't find anything because I unlocked the bootloader and rooted.
Is there anyway to update my phone to 4.2.2 or 4.2.1 without having to unroot, lock bootloader and wipe?
If not, will unlocking the bootloader again after OTA wipe the device the downgrade it to 4.1.2?
If yes, how? How can I update this device to the latest version?
I know I can install custom roms, but I actually like the default rom look and feel. But I want the latest version, since there are some nice changes in the latest versions.
Secondary question, when investigating this, my software versions below, match up with the following RUU:
RUU_M7_UL_JB_50_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.29.707.3_R_Radio_4A .14.3250.13_10.33.1150.01_release_311678_signed
But I bought my phone in the UK, Shouldn't it be the Europe version? I don't mind, since it's working. But it's just confusing me. I would have assumed it would be this version I require:
RUU_M7_UL_JB_50_HTC_Europe_1.28.401.7_Radio_4A.13. 3231.27_10.31.1131.05_release_310878_signed.
My current software:

Any advice on this is appreciate, since the phone is so new, I don't want to screw it up by flashing the wrong thing.
Sorry for asking a question which no doubt has been asked a million times.:crying:

[Q] Flashed Wrong Firmware

Hi XDA Members,
I was trying to return my G2 to Stock, in the process I mistakenly installed the T-Mobile firmware onto my Verizon Phone. The phone restarts every 10 secs and has no working wifi/4g.
I no longer have TWRP installed, nor any other recovery mode apparently (?), I'm now unrooted, but I can access download mode.
My computer has LG's General G2 drivers installed, the Verizon G2 drivers installed, and I have access to the LG Flash Tool. Everytime I try to use it, it is saying that it can not connect to server, please try another time. I've got the Stock Firmware download as both a kdz and a tot file.
I know I shouldn't have made such an oversight, installing the wrong firmware. But I would be most grateful if someone could assist!
Thanks in advance
I just came upon this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-g2/help/fix-recover-installing-t-mobile-rom-t3068517 which is telling me to edit the tot, changing from VVS980 to a VD801(00).
Would this be the way to do that? (10th line from the top, at the right) Thanks again

Try this thread. I had some issues installing a custom rom on a g2 I recently purchased and I had to go back to stock courtesy of a kdz file. Got my phone back to stock 4.4.2 it came with in about 10 minutes after using LG flash tool 2014. With the lg flash tool 2014 you will still get the cannot connect to server issue but it will still update your phone so just ignore it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2797190

System(MM) update problem.

On 5.1.1 build LMY48T
When I received this phone on 16Nov I tried to let do the update to MM. It would D/L but fail in updating. (Just reboot after each try) I went ahead with 5.1.1 in unlocking and rooting with no problem. tried to allow it to update date again as it has been requesting and it now justs boots into TWRP. I wish to upgrade to MM but am stymied. Need Guru assistance.
First time around it might have been a corrupt download. Now it's because you're rooted and have TWRP installed. To be able to update through OTA your system needs to be fully stock.
To update now you need to flash a factory image (plenty of guides if you search). I recommend using fastboot, but you could also use a toolkit (Nexus Root Toolkit). If you don't want to wipe your phone, leave out the userdata image when flashing (or the "no wipe"-mode in NRT).
I did search but I have to admit I got alittle confused as there seemed to be different factory versions available. I did do updates to my Note 2 until they sneakily locked the bootloader on me (verizon Bastages) I will look at the guides more throughly now to educate myself better. Thank for the guidance.
Which one?

Either of them will work, bu to save you time, get the latest (MRA58R) because it's just going to prompt you to install those.
Following the advice my N6 is rocking MM and rooted. Thanks to all.
Awesome! Glad you got it working!

New to the Active s6

I just recieved my imported AT&T s6 active and I'm super pleased by the phone!
The phone came with 5.1.1 preloaded and I'm assuming the bootloader is locked.
I've heard root is only available for 5.0 and root is a MUST for me can I downgrade with Odin and root?
Also does locked bootloader mean no flashing zips, right? Alas, no xposed?
Sorry, no root for you yet. Root only work on 5.0.1 and no downgrade. Thought you not necessarily need custom bootloader to flash zip, in S7 Active topic on XDA they do it through app, but still need root... Switch to s7A until your phone is new, or learn to live without root.

I've been trying to follow a method described in other forums and mentioned by many other xda users, but once I re flash stock firmware I don't have root access.
I suspect my problem is when running "ROOT_FIX.bat" having my phone on recovery.

I've no idea how to assess this.
Maybe this root method was just intended to be temporary for IMEI and CSC purpouses?
The forum I followed wasn't very explicative.

Recovery?

I hope someone can compile a recovery for the U19e.
It's possibly HTC's last release ?
I don't want to order it until I know it's rootable.

? How did you install Magisk with no recovery?

How to root without twrp

What a waste
I have bought HTC U19e, its a beautiful phone, responsive and good size...
But with no help from @sabpprook , no RUU, silly A/B partitions, no 'fastboot boot' support. Doubt this phone will ever be supported by TWRP developers. No root means I will have to throw the phone away. Such a shame.
Well, the magisk-install thread says:
In case your device lacks a custom recovery, you can either :
Manually patch your device’s boot image and flash it, or
Use the Direct Install option
Just try the alternate way -may you have to unlock bootloader via the normal htcdev site.
6 months have passed, the phone still in the box never used
sabpprook confirmed he is not willing to help or share his patched boot image.
What a shame more people didn't get behind HTC.
