Xiaomi Unlock our Bootloader! - Redmi Note General

Hello everyone.
As you may know, Xiaomi decided to lock their devices bootloader in the latest updates.
I, as a Redmi Note 3 owner, had the bad luck of already having the bootloader locked ever since i powered up the phone.
As a result of this (silly) Xiaomi's strategy, many users are turned away from Xiaomi.
The bootloader unlocking proccess has many frustrated and some even infuriated. (I'm both!)
So... I made a poll, to request Xiaomi to unlock our bootloader.
Please take a minute or two, to vote in Miui's forum poll and to write a comment, if you feel the need.
Thank you.

They said billions times that they won't do it. So billions and first time it's begging. Read carefully their topics on main forum..

Good. Maybe my English is not perfect, but at least i understood what they said...:angel:

I don't think it will do any harm to let Xiaomi know customers are unhappy; I wouldn't have bought the phone if I had known the bootloader would be locked. There was no indication of this in reviews when the phone was released.

I suggest you to make a petition to change the global members making it easy to share with the people in the world imo

It's only a question of time until somone will leak the unlocking code Or crack the locking mechanism.
It is just a challenge for our developers...

Bad news; the project on MIUI forum for developing Cyanogenmod 12.1 for the Redmi Note 3 has been abandoned.

I just get one RN3
Frustrated....................................they Lock the bootloader
I wont bought one IF I knew

Xiaomi's strategy to kick away modders!

Everyone is aware of bootloader locked phones, but what makes xiaomi stand out? yes! the strange strategies and principles, worlds most mysterious procedure of unlocking a bootloader in xiaomi phones.
They have made an issue intentionally to make users puzzled.
proof:-
1.After successful approval for unlock from xiaomi's official website, the user needs to unlock their bootloader using mi flash unlock tool, but the unlock tool gets stuck at 50% or 99% if you try to unlock on the same day, both of the errors have no solution officially.
2.when you reach xiaomi forums for help, the moderators will suggest you to wait for 8-10 days and then try, they said it purely depends on luck,if it doesn't work after 8 days, you need to wait again for 8-10 days.so now this is the only solution they have and that too depends on luck! great!
3.unlock tool keeps on displaying the same error instead of displaying any message to wait, this blocks the user to unlock bootloader further by displaying unlock limit reached message! wow! well played!
4.Now the thing comes that left me shocked:-
http://en.miui.com/thread-673415-1-1.html
have a look at this very interesting conversation.
you will be surprised by the reaction of a xiaomi moderator to the very popular bootloader unlock issue,he talks very rudely and tells to leave Xiaomi instead of helping and explaining the issue. he said-"if you are a modder then you are at wrong place".
Results:-
1.many users lost their hopes and sold their devices.
2.some of them continued without unlocking.
3.some users waited for days, weeks and even months.
so they got what they needed!
you get what you paid for!
so i shared my terrible experience with Xiaomi and analysed it,if you guys have any thoughts and analysis about their strategy then please share below in comments!
thanks for reading!
sorry for my English.

To answer all your questions here in MM3 forum go and check MM1 or 2 forums. Poor delivery of promised updates from Xiaomi and delayed or no sources released is a real good way to help the development...
Xiaomi should learn from other OEMs how they treat there uses. Hell 15 days to unlock bootloaders and you are talking about development.

Even I had used the same account to unlock my MM2 the one I used for my MM1 it took 7 days. The height was when I requested to unlock my friends phone using my mi account. I need to purchase a VPN which aupported Chinese server because I kept getting errors. After 3 days it took the request to unlock and the I received the message to wait for 2 weeks. Please check MIUI form unless they have changed the process in the last 2-3 months its 15 days.
You might be comfortable using MIUi but not everyone shares the same option. Also the OP is talking about custom rom development.

No bro. Don't be sorry. Why should we users argue for something Xiaomi is doing. It's all cool. Just wanted the users to know how Xiaomi treats there users. If you posting anything like this there forum there mods just ban you for like a month or permanently. So no free speech there. I was banned there for a month because I said the truth. So hope you understand.

Yeah..we know..but it took long time for mi max 2 to developed (because xiaomi)..
Just hope they dont mess this time..
Really interested in the max 3 hardware wise, but I'm using mix 2s now which came out around the same time as oneplus 6 and mix 2s has almost no scene while 1+ already have tons of custom roms.
And I can't stand MIUI, so resorted GSI rom, thanks to treble, which can't take advantage of the dual lens cam.
So..

Has anyone gotten the Snapdragon note 9 to root yet?

I'm just checking if there's been a root discovered yet because it's been awhile and I'm just checking in to see if any progress has been made. Thanks
Yes. I rooted my T+Mobile Note 9 this morning. I unlocked the bootloader, rooted it, used Magisk Hide to preserve Knox so I have Samsung Pay, free hotspot, no bloat, and 20 hour SOT.
Is this possible with my AT&T Note 9?

No, not possible on Snapdragons anymore (aside from N9600) and likely never will be.

common knowledge like what is root and how to do it is as common as what is acctualy rootable and how to achieve it.
the common ground is reading and searching. If self evident topics aren't found to match your wishes, then why would asking the question make it possible when what is available is what's achievable.
screw u OJ you bought the wrong phone.

technically what i quoted you on, dosen't qualify as a real ontopic question. so your above statement has no weight. my comment was more in response to your 'reply' to mr.orange and partly on the actual benefits of reading and using search.

It is not possible to root the US Snapdragon version of the Note 9. It's impossible to unlock the bootloader, and root has not and will not be discovered.
If you want root you need to buy an international Exynos version.
I made a sarcastic response, because this question has been asked about a hundred times on this forum. Yes, this forum is for you to learn. I WANT you to learn. But there's so much information here already. Either use the search function befotr asking a question (which is actually in the rules that you agreed to by signing up for an account), or use Google, which will often lead you to the relevant thread here on XDA. Teach a man to fish, or give a man a fish.
I guarantee if root had been achieved, it would be a stickies thread and the number 1 most popular thread on here.
As far as personal insults from you, they roll off my back. You don't know me. And Steve Buscemi who played Mr. Pink is one of my favorite actors, so that's actually cool.
* * * Thread Cleaned * * *
Let's all remember that posting rude, disrespectful, insulting, and off-topic comments are violations of Forum Rules.
While I understand the frustration of dealing with those who ask without searching, or who start trouble, you can see how effective it is to remind them that they should first search; it just leads to more back and forth, bickering, and insults, etc....
I would ask that in the future, when someone is too lazy to search, if you do not feel like answering the question for the 100th time, simply do not respond at all, or if they become bothersome, simply REPORT their posts and allow Moderation staff to handle the situation.
As everyone can see, it went from a few lazy or insulting posts to nearly a page full with all the responses included
I appreciate all the members who use Xda as designed, who do their homework, search, and respond with helpfulness and respect.
Thanks!
tl;dr
Don't feed the trolls, become part of the solution (report troublemakers), not part of the problem (argue with troublemaker)

Truth. However, that is because Samsung allowed the international version to be bootloader unlocked. The US Snapdragon (N960U) can NOT be unlocked or rooted.

Lack of development

Hi,
I'm just curious as why the mate 20 pro lacks such development
Are you speaking about custom ROM?
If yes it is simply because Huawei doesn't release any source code and it is hard to unlock bootloader etc so obviously it is really hard for developers to do something with that....

I never understand folks who buy Huawei products expecting rom development. Huawei made their stand awhile ago.
It's simple stuff. Buy pixel, OnePlus, xiaomi etc if you want amazing dev support.
Why people want to use custom ROM on an amazing phone and limit themselves from using most banking apps?

Well you don't limit yourself if you use proper tools like magisk hide
People that want to customise a rom, or even know what is a ROM is potentially maybe, if I am generous, 0.1% of the potential phone market.
Huawei has the best stance, business wise. Why waste time and ressources to release codes for a minority of people that will barely impact your bottom line.
Despite the US ban this year, they are growing 24%, so my guess is they are fairly happy with their current situation, and won't miss 2-3 nerds on XDA wanting to change their phone from the inside out.

Unlock locked frp Huawei p30 pro..

Hey guys!
I'm sure there is a lot of posts like this one but I couldn't find the right one so if someone finds it please share
So my problem is that my dad bought a Huawei p30 pro (Vog-l29) and little did he know about the google account.. I did a factory reset and now I'm stuck.. Any ideas how to fix it?
I'm far from pro in doing stuff like this but I'm familiar with a lot of ways so if some one with more experience could just point me in the right direction with names of programs and files I would be very thankful! I've read a lot of ways to do it but then they mention that it won't unlock it.. I have a USB cable for it and a Windows computer, do I need something else?
Would really appreciate some help!
Thanks in advance!
Ask your father his password and 'voilà'.. You'll be good to go!

Funny one! The Google account belong to the seller.. Didn't think that was hard to get, so yeah asking my dad won't help.
Please can I get some helpful answers..
LoL you're welcome (^_-)
Usually, looking for frp bypass means a lot things...
If not, just try 'frp' on the search bar, there's subjects about.
And, of course, you could also go to an official repair center : they'll unlock it for you.
Good day

Hi. I guess the easiest way is to flash the factory image to the phone.
Look here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/hu...orial-vog-l29-flash-firmware-153-usb-t3928793
When I flash new firmware my Google account is gone and I have to enter my information to start the phone with my account.
Its not that hard to flash the firmware. Follow The guide.

You must have online emails and ebay or whichever site you used logs from the sale/purchase, phone number of the seller had to come from somewhere
How did you pay for it? Bank transfer/Paypal, both have paper trails/logs of the seller
Find it hard to believe you have 0 proof of purchase and 0 methods of contacting the seller

Probably doesn't matter anyway, even if you did get back into it, if it is stolen it will soon be IMEI blacklisted and be useless as a phone in your country
Thread cleaned up a bit.
First of all, xda does allow threads regarding FRP bypass as long as it's clearly not for illegal purposes.
Second, if you think it IS for illegal purposes, report it! Don't reply as if you are a Moderator of this site or flame the member. This could land you in hot water.
I'll quote some of the rules here since it's MY job to do so:
2. Member conduct.
2.3 Flaming / Lack of respect: XDA is about sharing and this does not involve virtual yelling (flaming) or rudeness. Flaming or posting with a lack of respect is unacceptable. Treat new members in the manner in which you would like to have been treated when you were a new member. When dealing with any member, provide them with guidance, advice and instructions when you can, showing them respect and courtesy. Never post in a demanding, argumentative, disrespectful or self-righteous manner.
2.5 All members are expected to read and adhere to the XDA rules.
10. Help others if you can.
If you see posts from others where you can help out, please do so. This place exists because people are helping each other, and even if you are relatively new to the matter, there's probably quite a few people with less experience than you, who could benefit from what you've learned. Don't be shy.

I think this is where the confusion is coming from, there seems to be different rules per device forum

Having been Samsung for years I've had it drummed into my head that 'any' talk of FRP bypassing is against XDA rules

Thanks but that post is actually incorrect. I assure you we do allow them unless it's clearly breaking the law. It all stems from the introduction of FRP when devices were being sold without the Google account being properly removed. Many users found themselves in this exact situation. They purchased a device that had been simply factory reset. Which was enough before the introduction of FRP but now when they set up their newly purchased device, they are asked for the previous owner's password.
Therefore xda has allowed these threads as well as the actual methods of bypass to be posted. There are legitimate uses.
