Samsung note 5 n920s asking password after reset - Galaxy Note5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello ,
i have a "Samsung galaxy note 5 n920s". I do hard reset and also reset "FRP lock" With ultimate multi tool. my problem is that it is asking "password " instead of going to language selection screen.
I have done
1. Factory reset
2. Flash through odin
3. Downgrade through odin
4. Root with "cf auto root"
5. Installed twrp custom recovery
But nothing works for me it still shows a screen with "call me button , Enter password and emergency call button".
Any help please

If its your device. Just put in your google account password.

It is not asking Google account. It ask for password

Like @Lil_Assasin said, put on your Google account password. It is asking for the Google account credentials you used before you reset the phone.

Enter password to use encrypted device storage

I have a problem.
When installling TW Roms (latest ones) I get "Enter password to use encrypted device storage" - and no matter what passwords I try - it doesn't go further.
When I clean install other roms, it works.
Any Idea?
Search function doesn't work on this site, maybe there are some others with similar problems, hopefully it is curable!
Hae you ever used encryption or exchange or vpn?

Have you encrypted your phone in the past or perhaps its secondhand?
Try formatting your sdcard + flashing a different kernel using odin and try again..
After trying everything in a similar scenario, I input the wrong password about 15 times on a TW-based ROM - then everything was deleted and it was fine

Nothing kept on saying try again.
I went into recovery (stock recovery) and did factory reset and wipe cache. Still the same screen.

Did you persist enough times? After some point there is a timer that you can't try for a couple of minutes and then a countdown...

after reboot I am still trying. Will update if it gives me anything other then try again.
I do not remember setting up any encryption. Though I did at some point used exchange but deleted that account after a while. So when I updated nothing was on it no passwords.

Yeah no luck. I lost count as to how many time I tried again. It remained the same.
I can only suggest installing the xperia-sized ROM by AminX..... this is the one that let me reset.

SOLVED.
Ok guys just a quick update. I haven't had time and forgot about this thread but here's what I did and I am posting here so that somebody in same situation could benefit. I created a note to self in past and found it.
"In case I ever get that annoying Encryption message.
Do the following:
1) For this method to work you must have access to SDcard or internal memory.
2) If you dont have access, make sure you have Superuser file on any type of Memory (internal or external).
(On the sidenote I will always keep that in internal as well as external card from now on.)
3) Fire up Odin - Install Clockwork Recovery in PDA - Do Not Check reset time.
4) START....
5) Install zip from sdcard... superuser
a) it will fail first time with error code 0.
b) do it again (dont worry about that).
6) Fire up odin again.
7) Rename the MD5 i717 file to TAR. (see NOTE)
8) PDA that ****.
9) START and wait....
10) PASS you're done. Thank PAST ME...!!!! "
NOTE : Now I think this will work for other devices than just I717. You must get a stock rom TAR for your device. Dont get the latest but the one before latest.
After booting is complete and the device no longer asks for passcode. Go into security settings of the device. Then Setup a password lock for your device. Make sure its password lock and is at-least 8 characters. NOTE DOWN THAT PASSWORD
REBOOT.
Device will ask for password to unclock, Enter it and then go to security settings again and disable password unlock it or simply set it to slide.
Make sure you have NOT enabled any device Administrators in security settings. Most commonly people with exchange accounts on phone have that.
After this you can flash the any ROM you intend to flash (On stock rom it will still appear.) and if that encryption screen comes up use the password you setup previously.
Again I cant guarantee this will work for individual devices but yeah It worked for me and my friends device (both i717). Its now a goto method to get rid of it.

After trying this method for a few hours it turns out that I had to downgrade, only after that there was an override on the encryption password requirement. Just in case you don't mind reinstalling evrything.

TWRP 3.2.1-0 asking for password every boot now

I've searched but can't seem to find an answer to this problem. After booting into TWRP the first time and putting the password in and checking the box not to show page again it was booting into the selection page directly each time I booted to recovery thereafter. Now all of the sudden it is asking for password again every time, but now I don't get the check box to not show that page again. So it just keeps asking for a password every time. Has anyone found a way to fix this problem? Thanks for any help with this issue.

Yes...But when you enter the password the first time and check the box that says don't show again it is supposed to not ask for the password again. At least that is what I read somewhere when I was searching for why it asks for the password. When I found out why and entered my password the first time and checked the box afterwards it never asked again...Until I booted to recovery today. Now all of the sudden it asks every time, And after entering the password I no longer get the check box to bypass it. So it asks every time now.

you have to enter your password in twrp in order to get access to data as your phone encrypted. I have never seen such a checkbox to avoid it, sorry if am wrong. maybe you did upgrade your twrp?

I did upgrade TWRP a couple of days ago, But I was able to check the box in the older version also. Seems like it only shows once after entering the password the first time and if you don't check it I noticed it never shows again. I missed it the very first time and found out reading or in a video while looking for the reason it asks for a password. I then re-installed TWRP after going to a new ROM and the first time in entered the password and checked the box. Stopped asking for password for awhile until today.
Found a workaround on another thread...I went into security and clicked on screen lock like I was going to set it up or change it and chose pin again then told it not on start up only lock screen. Now I don't need to put in a password to enter recovery.
Just go to settings>security>screen lock> type PIN> choose PIN
then you will see Secure start-up ( Require PIN to start device/ No Thank you)...Profit!
I what to make password but i missed the first password setting how I can set password

TWRP doesn't have any password of its own:
https://twrp.me/faq/securetwrp.html
If the phone is encrypted - by the main rom - then TWRP will ask for the password so that it can access your data. However, from what I read, TWRP does not support the encryption of the current custom roms, so that is of limited use.

Any way to unlock Samsung A6 (SM-A600FN)?

Hi guys,
My company handed out Samsung A6 (FM-A600FN) to all staff as work phones. Some people left and handed back the phones without wiping their data, so the phones are still locked with their passwords. Leavers refused to tell us their password because they use the same password for lots of other things. Now we end up with a number of locked Samsung A6 sitting there, and we have to buy new phones for new starters.
I tried power button + volume up, wipe data, it's still asking for the device password or the previous owner's google account. Is there any way to unlock, wipe or flash these locked phones, without the leavers' password? Obviously I'm more than happy to lose all the data in the device, just want to wipe everything so we can give these phones to new starters instead of buying new ones. Some of these phones are less than 3 months old (people didn't pass probation).
Thank you!
Jay

I've tried this today but it didn't work. When the phone restarted, it's still saying "An unauthorised attempt has been made to reset your device to factory default settings. Connect to a Wi-Fi or mobile network to verify your identity", then asking me to enter password or use the previous google account to log in and verify.
I did choose csc_omc... in Odin, also applied BL, AP, CP, and got to "PASS!" at the end. Then unplugged the phone, boot into recovery --> wipe data/factory reset.
In Download Mode, in the top left corner of the screen, it says "FRP LOCK: ON". Is this causing the problem? Is there any way to switch off the FRP lock?
Thank you!

Realme x50 china version password forgot

Hello guys i bought a realme x50 5g china version from aliexpress and everything was oky I logged in into my google account and when i gave it to my brother he set a password and he forgot it and now i cant enter the phone i try to wipe the data through recovery but it's askin for password too and i used google find device but it didn't works ( the wifi on the phone is on and the sim card is working ) please tell me what to do
Hello There,
If you have TWRP recovery installed, you can do factory reset to wipe everything including the password. And then set up new password.
You can ignore the password request at the beginning of TWRP by pressing cancel. After that, just do factory reset.
Please be warned that doing factory reset will wipe everything. But if you back up in Google account, you can restore that later.
Hope this help,

Pixel 5 Android 12 Beta 1 - Bricked Phone - Please help :(

Pixel 5 here
So I updated to the beta and the pixel launcher kept crashing (couldn't even swipe or open app without the screen turning black and pixel launcher crashing) after the install until my phone kept restarting and said I needed a factory reset.
I factory reset the phone but when I go to set up the phone again after entering my wifi info the next screen asks me to "Copy apps & data"
if I hit next it asks me to connect my old phone, which I don't have an old phone. When I select "Can't use my old phone" a message pops up saying that I can restore data without my old phone by signing in with my account. I hit ok and it asks me to verify my pin? I factory reset the phone, why would it ask for that?? ANyway I enter my pin and and I'm back to the Copy apps & data screen.
Only other option is "Don't Copy". If I hit that It puts me in an infinite loop of verifying my pin, then back to the Copy apps & data screen.
Any help would be much appreciate, totally lost. Knew I should've not installed the beta :'(
Exact same problem on my 4a 5g, I cant even unlock my bootloader now.
