[full guide] [video tutorial] how to use sp flash tool to unroot, do stock rom, flash - Infinix HOT 2

After receiving so many questions and request about
SP FLASH TOOL, I finally came up with a comprehensive
Tutorial of all that can be done with SP flash tool on the
Infinix hot 2.
[REQUIREMENTS]
A LAPTOP OR COMPUTER SYSTEM
MTK VCOM USB DRIVERS (link in the video description on YouTube)
QUALITY USB CABLE
ABILITY TO CLICK ON THE LINK, WATCH AND LISTEN ?
[SUMMARY]
Always make a READBACK (backup) of /system and /recovery
/boot (optional) with SP flash tool after every OTA update
Before you start Rooting, moding and tinkering.
To UNROOT is just to flash back your /system and recovery
Backup above which is necessary to install a new OTA
Update. Incase you are on MM, and you are using
SuperSU v66 and above, you need to do backup of
/boot partition and restore it before OTA update
as systemless root modifies the boot partition.
Several PMT ERRORS where also treated in the tutorial.
It's my first tutorial, I never knew it was hard to make a
Good tutorial, maybe it's a first time thing.
Anyways, enjoy, like and share...

There are few bugs
# screen on lags 1-3 secs most times you press the
Power button
# contact search issues
Are the most noticeable ones.
But it's a good development

I tried sp flashtool on 2 laptops with 3 operating systems (XP, 7,10) and it doesn't see the phone, while infinix flash tool does.
The problem is that infinix flash tool is missing "format" option and I can't flash infinix rom while I'm on android one without formating.
How to make the tool work?

Yup sure

Infinix flashtool formated the device automatically and I was able to flash infinix software, but still sp flash tool doesn't work
-
Qualcomm devices were easier to deal with, it is first time for me to deal with mtk device, and really it sucks.

What version of SP flash tool are you using? The more recent versions work fine on our copy of the Infinix Hot 2 X510

The recent version.. Still doesn't work.
Anyway infinix flashtool formatted the device automatically, but after I connected and disconnected it many times and the tool was refusing to flash... The stupid tool released by itself that the device needs to be formated to flash a different rom.

stock recover for lxb22.99-16.3 see post #2
to install future ota updates you need to unroot and have stock recovery (they will download but not install and or cause a bootloop)
falcon got 5.1.1 as its gen 1 we are gen 2 and still waiting - not fair - but how motorola does it (to try to sell more gen 3)

bootloader unlocked is only needed to install twrp - you will get ota updates with locked or unlocked bootloader and they will install if locked or unlocked
its only rooting that causes bootloops and of course you need stock recovery to install - so yes just install updates without worry

TWRP 2.8.7.0 for infinix hot 2 X510

Finally, TWRP is here for X510 and it comes in handy.
Be very careful to follow all the instructions.
If you are Using infinix Rom 5.1 make sure you download the
Appropriate zip for your Rom. Likewise if you are using stock
AndroidOne 5.1.1 Rom please do select the one for your Rom. All downloads are found in the download
Section below.
PREREQUISITES
PC
Make sure you have VCOM USB drivers installed in your PC
SP Flash Tool
Make a backup of your phone before you proceed.
HOW TO INSTALL
Download the TWRP for your Rom
Extract the zip or rare file
Open SP flash tool as administrator
Load the scatter file from the TWRP extracted folder
Select download only and click on download button
Power down your phone, then connect it to your PC
Once the done, remove your battery.
Beware that your phone has boot-protect so if you didn't
Remove your battery after flashing and restart the phone
The stock recovery will automatically overwrite your installed
TWRP.
AFTER YOU HAVE REMOVED THE BATTERY, put it back and
Reboot into recovery (hold the power and volume+button till

Once the TWRP recovery open it will ask you if you want
If you want to use TWRP as read only (/system remains unmounted)
If you use TWRP as read only, the system will overwrite the

The TWRP and used it as read and write.
You can flash SuperSu by chainfire (optional) if you do, system
Won't overwrite your TWRP recovery.

Cannot Unlock Bootloader
Hey guys, I just got a HOT 2 in indonesia.
I am using linux so I cant use the windows sp flash tool.
Originally I booted into fastboot from ADB to boot into your recovery image.
But it wouldn't allow me because i'm sure the bootloader isn't unlocked.
Thus I tried to unlock bootloader butI cannot select yes because volume buttons are disabled.
I am downloading sp flash tool for linux. lets hope it works.
Just make sure
OEM Unlocking is checked under Settings /Developer options

I don't use Linux OS but SP flash tool is the best for
Flashing mtk devices. However, before you can successfully
Use Fastboot you have to unlock the Bootloader.
First, go to settings, Dev options, OEM unlocking and
Select it. Then use Fastboot command to unlock
Bootloader. And flash the image.
I experienced the same problem with Android one then I switched to infinix official Rom 5.1 and everything worked

Somehow you guys are using The same AndroidOne
Firmware on infinix website, it doesn't manually boot
The phone into recovery and if that's what you got,
Am sorry I won't be able to help you.
Even if you flash TWRP, you have to boot into recovery
Before booting the system. If not, the boot-recovery-p
Will overwrite your TWRP and install stock recovery.
But if you successfully flash TWRP recovery with Fastboot
Try rebooting into recovery.

I bought mine in Nigeria and I could boot into the
Recovery with power and volume+ button but
Unfortunately I couldn't get to do a backup because
I couldn't find the correct scatter file and MTK Droid
Tool couldn't do that however, when I later flashed
The AndroidOne stock 5.1.1 firmware from infinix site
The power and volume+ does absolutely nothing when
The phone is off
So is this a coincidence?

My infinix X510 Hot 2 came with Google AndroidOne
Stock 5.1.1 Lollipop firmware and could boot into recovery
With power and volume+ button when the phone is
Off but I tweaked my imei and couldn't install updates
That's why I went for infinix 5.1 Rom which is in my

Ok I finally got SP Tool working in Linux and tried this method. As you said, I flashed it successfully. But I couldnt directly boot into recovery because the volume buttons are disabled, and twrp got over written.
I cannot flash via fastboot because its locked.
So here are some ideas I have.
I could try rooting using kingroot and flash over flashify.
I could wait another 4 hours for your infinix rom to download and flash that over.
You could make a scatter file of the original ANdroid One rom from nigeria for Indonesian to flash. Then we could unlock through fastboot

According to me you don't have to unroot and install stock recovery just to install ota update there is a way to install update for same kind of rom i.e. stock rom update on stock rom or Custom rom update on custom rom without losing any user data. (Note:- This method is worked for me to apply ota update. You can do it on your own risk but if you had any problem you can ask me anytime.
Following are steps :-
1) Download the latest ota update it should be located here (internal storage/data/com.letv.android.ota/files/otaUpdates) folder.
2) There should be a zip file just cut and paste it in root folder for easy process.
3) Now boot to TWRP recovery and flash zip file which is pasted in root folder.
4) Now format dalvik cache and if you want root, then root again because due to flashingnew rom root access and all other changes you have done in system will lost but all your data will be safe... (This method is usefull for same type of rom i.e. from stock rom to stock rom or custom rom to custom rom).
5) Just for your knowledge 5.8.0.19s update file is full rom file but if you want other versions such as 5.8.0.16s then use offline update packages which are full size i.e. around 1.7 gb.
Also you can flash root since twrp comes with inbuild root tools just locate it in twrp recovery in advanced/tools/root.
Also you can install stock rom just after flashing stock rom in place of any custom rom just wipe data and factory reset and then apply root and reboot normally.

Use the Chinese Developer's TWRP...
It will let you flash official Update also will replace recovery, root, basebend, firmware everything.
So you will have a new, untouched mobile... and can receive and install future updates...

While trying to restore stock ROM my mobile got hanged. After that only stock recovery menu is showing it's neither loading the stock ROM neither ADB is detecting. I am unable to flash TWRP since ADB shows waiting for device. If by anyway ADB or fastboot will detect my device then I can copy the stock ROM Zip file along with TWRP recovery.
Thanks in Advance

Did you performed factory reset and flashed ROM & decrypt.zip
The TWRP survives the flash and Magisk can be flashed to Root the ROM but after above two files are flashed.
Well I successfully flashed ROM after complete factory reset with internal memory tooo ......
But some how TWRP got replaced with factory default (the one with root checker) with bootloader unlocked screen

Tutorial(downgrade8.1.0=>7.1.1)use nougat stok/custom-roms on Oreo BC-12 bootloader
This tutorial is for the users wich are not satisfied by Oreo 8.1.1 rom
Also can be used by users wich changed the touchscreen from some reazons
and on Oreo 8.1.1 this new touchscreen not work
First got to Settings/System/Developer option and chec OEM-unlockin to be ENABLED!
for flashing twrp-recovery may be need to unlock the bootloader by code but it should work only with OEM-unlocking enabled
Downgrading with FASTBOOT!
1) Charge youre phone to at least 50-70%, better is 100%
2) Download the FILES necessary for downgrading
3) Reboot the phone in bootloader and connect to the pc
4) Opend the terminal and write "fastboot" or "mfastboot" depends by your instaled fastboot
5) Copy/Paste in terminal the lines writed in "fastboot-mfastboot.txt" atached to files
or write them one by one and press ENTER
WAIT 'till it finish
6) In bootloader screen, from buttons vol-up & vol-down navigate and set to "reboot recovery" and press Power
Phone should boot in TWRP-recovery!
Now you have to install a custom-rom or a stok-rom TWRP flashable with Install option
""for this use the instruction to install posted by the developer of each rom""
Also you can RESTORE an older 7.1.1 backup made before update to OREO
Reboot and enjoy by nougat-7.1.1 rom on oreo-8.1.0 bootloader
Downgrading with TWRP
Files to be flashed with TWRP for the users wich have olready the TWRP-recovery instaled!
1) Download the files
2) Copy the zip archive on the sdcard
3) Reboot the phone in TWRP-recovery
4) Search and install the zip

No! you cant flash a full nougat rom with fastboot.
Bootloader cant be downgraded!
for hardbricked phones you have first to boot it using the sdcard img.
then when you get bootloader working without sdcard, can use this tutorial

Change log: November 18 Security Update
NOTE: Like so many other users, I too updated my device with OREO and stuck with that. I haven't tried downgrading it because I don't want to end up with a hard-bricked device once again. Point here is the new build is not tested. So please take a TWRP backup before using this build. Don't forget to post me even if works fine.
