Dude I have just purchased the ALE-L02 and before I update and root it I want to extract the firmware file for people like you.
If someone can help you will be in luck.
Build Number: ALE-L02C183B120
Country: New Zealand
Vendor: 2Degrees
EMUI: v3.1
Vince

2Degrees appears to have disable the dual sim feature. Any clue as to the easiest way to undo that? I assumed that all P8 lite models were dual sim, but it appears that the firmware differs.

I think to have dual SIM you need to flash another vendor to the phone. This could mess your phone up though if done incorrectly.
I don't know how to do it but I'm pretty sure that's what people have done.
Why do people want dual SIM?

Single sim ale-21 uk firmware

Purchased a SINGLE SIM P8 Lite from Carphone Warehouse (SIM FREE/UNCLOCKED/UNBRANDED). It has “ALE-L21C432B183” firmware and I have unlocked the bootloader and rooted the phone now.
Unfortunately, there is an issue with this phone - battery discharging\draining despite disabling most of the apps and hardly been used…. This not normal at all. I am going to upgrade to Marshmallow to see if it helps, in fact, ideally start with a fresh firmware.
I would appreciate if someone can give me a link to an official Marshmallow Firmware that is compatible with SINGLE SIM UK phone (I am not interested in dual sim). Also, confirm whether I can upgrade from “ALE-L21C432B183” or do I need to do anything else.
Also, would be good if someone can provide a link to the original SINGLE SIM UK firmware, “ALE-L21C432B183” or something else.
Many Thanks
You have the same version as me. The phone is actually dual sim. You can either have one sim and an SD card inside the same slot, or lose the SD card for another sim instead.
I have been struggling for weeks now trying to get Marshmallow installed on the B183 with no luck at all. I hope you have better luck than me. If you get the update working, please reply back in here so I can copy how you did it
braders1986, I will try dual SIM later as now the battery drain is annoying me. lol
Installed ALE-L21C432B551 from http://m.huawei.com/itmobile/consumer/support/downloads/index.htm (just search for P8 lite, it says its for Single SIM) and gonno check if it improves battery performance at all. Unlocked it as well (although seems to be different method, messed up 2/3 times but reinstalled it). I used the force method to install.

P9 firmware mystery?

Hi--I have recently purchased a "new" P9 from a reseller on E-bay (I am from Canada). I did a lot of research on this device and the e-bay description was P9 eva-L19. Since I know that this version would be upgradeable to Android 7 Nougat, I decided to purchase it even though I was dubious of the "new" description. It was a very good price also. Anyway I received the device (from Hong Kong) and everything was in perfect shape outwardly except the box was NOT sealed. The phone and accessories were in excellent condition and appeared to be new but when I checked the "about" section under settings, I saw that the P9 was an eva-L29C636 model and not the L19 I had been expecting. The firmware was eva-L29C636B168. I noticed that the device had 3Gb ram and 32Gb of storage. My main question is-- has anyone every seen or heard of an eva-L29 having this configuration? I can only find 4Gb and 64 Gb specs for this P9 variant. Anyway, we like the phone and will not send it back and I have updated the device to eva-L29C636B191. It looks like there will NEVER be an update to Android 7 Nougat which bothers me but I'm just not understanding the specs on this device. Also, has anyone here updated their L-29 to the B361 Beta Nougat firmware that shows up on "Firmware Finder" app and is it worth the bother? Should I stay on Marshmallow? Thanks for listening to my long-winded story and any feedback or info is very much appreciated!

BUMP---nobody here has an eva-L29 or even a guess as to what's going on with my P9??
B361 is latest PV official update. There are updates to B389 that only working as custom roms.
You sure your device L19? There is a model number at the bottom back of your device. If that the case, maybe previous owner install L29 firmware on L19 device. You can change it back with debranding

Thanks, have you EVER seen or heard of an EVA-L29C636 model with only 3gb Ram, and 32gb storage? It does have a dual sim slot.

Thanks for the reply. I am not sure of anything at this point. When I use the CPU-Z app it shows the Model as a EVA-L29 but the internal storage is 32 GB and ram as 3Gb but I can find NO reference anywhere of such a device existing. Since I am a newbie you may have given me a clue as to why this device is weird. I did not know about debranding until you mentioned it. So it is possible that someone had an L09 or L19 and was able to debrand it somehow and then pass it off as an L29? That would explain the 32 GB and lack of 4Gb of ram. I guess it would have been an L19 as there is a dual sim in the phone. My final question, then is, if I want to put Nougat on it, do I flash a L19 firmware or L29 firmware? Sorry for the beginner questions but I am very new on android and firmware flashing etc.
p.s. oh, by the way, to confuse matters even more, the back of the case has L09 on it so now I know that the device has DEFINITLY been screwed with?

So it must be L09, just debrand your phone and install L09 firmware. You can update to nougat after thar

sounds like a refurbished device, so don't pay attention to what is printed on the phone itself, and my advice, don't try to update until you're sure about what variant you have, you will easily brick your device.

That sounds like what I have. I did not realize, though, that components could be added/subtracted from the motherboard so easily. Guess I am very naive lol. Anyway, the device came to me as EVA-L29C636b168 and I did update it with Firmware Finder to EVA-L29C636b191 . Everything is running fine. Would you recommend that I stop at this point and forget about Nougat? Sorry to put you on the spot and I recognize the risks but it does seem that the device is now an L29 even though it doesn't have some of the hardware. Thanks for your help and advice.

maybe your phone is refurbished p9 l09 but they change motherboard to l19. who knows. I think it doesn't matter which firmware you got. I have seen many people change their firmware despite of their device. even I change my AL00 to L19 because AL00 firmware doesn't have playstore. my advice, debrand it to L19 for easy nougat update. either choice, you can update nougat

At this point i think you should be ok updating since the L19 moniker was only shown on the website, and the L09 is in the exterior case (not the components themselves), so you ended up with an L29.
Thanks to all for the info and advice!

Because ATT devices update from ATT not Samsung. Without the ATT sim your device won't be recognised as an ATT device.
This is how it's worked for other devices on ATT.

i Just upgraded the tablet to android 7 using its firmware i did not have its original at&t sim card lying around so i had to manually update the device you can manually update it
and no even if you try to debrand this tablet out of the at&t firmware there might be some chances that certain functions like wifi and bluetooth might not work due to the modem that at&t devices use i don,t know about this theory either and i can only assume that this might happen to your device it happened to me on my lg g2 where i installed the wrong firmware
Hopes this helps
sorry for my bad english
Where Did you get your update From? i Have an AT&T t-818a and on the att website there have been 2 other additional update but i guess without the AT&T sim it just wont work? Is this true, can anyone confirm this? I dont see why you would need the AT&t sim if the build/firmware number is specific to AT&T. Another reason to hate AT&T i guess!
T817AUCU2CQE3 here:
http://combinefile.com/home/browse/category/id/9448/T817AUCU2CQE3
Yeah I did T 18178 ever since I've had it it won't update already had to go twice to get new SIM cards from AT&T I've never not had an AT&T SIM card but it still does it regardless I noticed now it's been another year I haven't got another update and multiple behind it just happens. Did you know for the longest time and then I had to start going there and telling them just to do it right away and then you try to say I will do all this stuff and not think that would even help until doing all of it and then finally after continually telling them refusing that wouldn't do anything but it's but it happened the last time. Ridiculous provider websites pretty much unusable because it takes ridiculous times to get to information that's useless anyways, every time you want to go to a new page it's trying to make you log in security again
There is a version 7. And honestly I worked on my for a looong time and could never get it to update so I Just took it to the Samsung guys at best buy they did it no problem. being you are not in the US I'm not sure what to recommend.

Desperately Need Help - Samsung SM-N960F/DS + T-mobile PUK and other issues.....

Hi. I am a complete noob when it comes to rooting Android.
**************************UPDATE************************************************
THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN SOLVED. PLEASE SCROLL TO POST #89 ON PAGE 9 TO SEE THE SOLUTION.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77950935&postcount=89
***************************************************************************************************
I bought an *unlocked* Samsung Note 9 N960F/DS (Exynos 9810) international phone from a seller on ebay brand new and sealed. Received the phone yesterday (10/19/2018) and popped my working existing sim card from my iphone 6 with T-mobile into the new phone and it *worked*.........except no wifi calling.
Since my house has terrible reception I really do need wifi calling in order to receive calls (I use Skype for outbound). I decided to root and install Detonator (tekhd) even though I've never done this before. Somewhere along the line I messed up and installed the latest LUX ROM because I misred Tekhd's guide on Detonator (my fault).
Here's where I stand now: I found a stock ROM for this model (N960F/DS) and reinstalled it using Odin3 v3.13.1.
After a successful flash when I insert my working T-mobile sim I get "SIM network PIN blocked. Enter SIM network PUK."
Here the Service Provider SW shows XEU/XEU,XEU/MYM
I get the *same* message when I insert a spare T-mobile sim I happened to have that was confirmed as available with T-mobile customer service. If I take the working sim out and put it back into the other phone it works without a problem. I think that rules out the sim cards having issues.
Earlier when I had the phone rooted and Detonator installed (and working), I got a different message when I inserted the SIM:
Network Lock: This device can be remotely unlocked if eligible.
Please use the "Device Unlock" application to unlock the device.
Make sure the device has an internet connectivity to use the "Device Unlock application".
Here the Service Provider SW showed TMB/TMB/MYM.
I tried looking for a T-mobile Unlock App apk to download but could not find a recent one. I would get a "Device not supported" error. It seems T-mobile has taken it off the Playstore.
Now, I can't install a stock USA ROM from T-mobile because those ROMS are only for the Snapdragon versions and I have the Exynos chip. I was given two unlock codes over the phone with T-mobile customer service to try and unlock the Pin lock but they both did not work.
Do you think an unlock service will be able to provide me with a valid "Sim Network PUK" code? I'm happy to pay for the service if I can just get the damn phone working. I've spent almost $770 on this phone and in hindsight should just have gotten the T-mobile branded phone for $100 more. I'm really at a loss as to what I can do to rectify this situation.
Also in hindsight I should have done more research before purchasing the phone and also should have backed up my partition in TWRP........You live and you learn.
The irony here is that I had an unlocked phone.....and now it has somehow gotten locked.........by the carrier whose SIM card is working perfectly fine......in a different phone. The device was paid in full btw.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

this is a first. I always though once the region lock was lifted it couldn't be relocked( to me it seems to be a region lock issue, which if it is you need to make a 5 min call on region soil... good luck)
anyways check on your box there is a sticker with model and serial . find what carrier or region its from and grab that firmware and flash it. might want to factory wipe everything (including cache) in the recovery before booting it up indownlaod mode to do Odin flash.
also remove sim before wiping/ flashing, let it boot and do the initial setup then insert sim.

I did wipe and reinstall the stock rom with the sim removed. The strange thing is..........I get the same message if I insert an old, blank, unused t-mobile sim into the device. Plus the working sim works fine in my old phone. So how could it be that the sim is locked?
There is nothing on the box that says anything about a carrier. This was advertised and sold as a factory unlocked phone which by all indications it does seem to be. The only thing on the box that says anything about country is that it was manufactured in vietnam.

did you flash one of these?
these should be the original firmware U1 and the lates U2 which if you flash wint be able to downgrade bootloader but shouldn't be causing rhe sim lock issue.
flash U1 first and see if it fixes your issue. then try the October U2 just for fun
you can also download it using samfirm tool
enter 960F and MYM in settings it should also be a faster download then the web links

ok so it's too late for U1 . ure phone is already on U2 latest bootloader. so flash the October build
but be sure to wipe all with no sim before flashing
and in Odin fill in all slots and for csc use CSC but not HOME csc file.
good luck

yeah might as well use tarp. and erase all. but before, did you sift through internal s or ext s for an efs backup that detonator might have made automatically?
check for a folder called .backup and or for a file like:
efs_backup.img.gz
efs_backup.img
or anything similar

No, but I did download Dr. Ketan's tool to make an efs backup. But that was way later in the process....so it wasn't the original efs directory......It was after I flashed my current "stock" rom. I'm going to try and find another site to download since that one will take 2 days on slow speed......

No, but I did download Dr. Ketan's tool to make an efs backup. But that was way later in the process....so it wasn't the original efs directory......It was after I flashed my current "stock" rom. I'm going to try and find another site to download since that one will take 2 days on slow speed......

well ure screwed either way. the goal is to restore everything back to stock and see if you can get a line working
btw was there a seal on the box that you had to break in order to open the box when you first got it?

I need help please

First i know i'm an idiot, i thought i knew what i was doing but i had no idea, i figured how hard could it be I've rooted a G1 and a Droid Eris.... but alas i was way over my head.
I have a Note 9 from KSA (Saudi Arabia) i'm a contractor there and it was way cheaper than buy in the states plus a dual sim variant. i tried flashing to the Detonator T-mobile rom, and now i'm left with a phone i can not use, I did not create a partition, i have backup all my personal data, but the original firmware is in the ether. I flashed what i thought was a dual sim international firmware, but all it did network lock my phone so god knows what international network, since neither my T-mobile or STC sim work in it. On top of that even though it has a "stock firmware" it's still rooted so knox has been triggered and even if my sim's worked all Knox linked programs wont work.
So what i need from you fine Ladies' and Gentlemen is a solution to get it as close to the stock version as possible, at this point dual sim functionality or the Wifi calling i was trying to flash on to it are second to having the phone function as a proper note 9 again. IF anyone has the stock firmware or knows of a place where i can get the original firmware, no i'm not asking for hacked version, yes i'm willing to pay for it as long as it works. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Yeah, I know that Samsung devices purchased in the UAE are partitioned differently than those purchased in the rest of the world. I would recommend that you repartition the storage in your device and reinstall the stock OS back onto it again. That should resolve yoru issue. I don't know how to do this. Maybe somebody else can chime in a help you out.
