Hide Navigation Bar - Huawei Mate S

Are there any cracks out there who could look into this?
Is there any way, this trick from the P6 could also work on the Mate S?:

Thanks!!!

You can activate it in settings, no need for a "trick" . Settings -> Navigation pane -> Switch/activate the selector in the top.

Ah.... I wish
Unfortunately, this option has been deactivated for the European versions. It has something to do with Google not liking the option.
But that's where that trick for the P6 comes in, where hannanzikrea somehow created a Huawei backup from the settings with this option enabled that could then be restored to a EU version.
So I was hoping someone with more expertise than me could re-create this for the Mate S.
Keeping my fingers crossed

This solution iş not compatible with all roms... İ had B110 it dış not work. İ got the hide bar button, after hitting it navbar went down.. But got it never back... I had to do factory reset to get tge navbar back....After update to B145 I tried it again it worked.... But it will not work with all ROMs so that is why I wrote my comment... So this solution is not for everyone... It has it risk....so try it but it can make your navbar disappear for ever.....

Ok, thanx for specifying. We should be more precise then:
I'm running the European B114 version (CRR-L09C432B114) and with that it works.
But deleting the entry in sqlite editor should bring the on-screen buttons back after a restart. Did you try that when your were on B110?

This keyboard is made for our resolution (240x320). It looks perfect and isn't stretched in any way!
HTC_IME.apk is the keyboard.
Clicker.apk is the calibration tool in the keyboards settings.
Installation Instructions
1. Install both HTC_IME.apk and Clicker.apk.
2. Rename/remove the file /system/lib/libt9.so (I suggest renaming to libt9bk.so). You need root permissions to do this (the program Root Explorer works great.)
3. Menu -> Settings -> Locale & text. Enable 'Touch Input'.
4. Go to a text field and long-hold until a menu pops up.
5. Select 'Input Method' and then 'Touch Input'
Download HTC_IME.apk
Download Clicker.apk
Please let me know if you have any problems. Feedback is much appreciated!
I installed it successfully.
Then opened up Handcent SMS...
Then press and hold the text input area... and get message box.
Select "Input Method"... then I get a Select Input Method pop up.
The only option available is "Android Keyboard".
I see no option for HTC_IME.
Any ideas?
Thx!

However, now I go to type into a text box I get a message:

It is not real clear in Android.
You need to go into Settings...
Then select "Locale & Text"
Then under the "Text Settings" section, select the "Touch Input" check box.
At this point, you are all done enabling it.
Then go back into your SMS application.
Then press and hold your finger in the text input box and select "Input Method".
Then select "Touch Input".
Let me know if you have any better luck.
Once I go and press in the text box, the keyboard attempts to come up and I get an error that the HTC Input has "stopped unexpectedly".
Good luck!

I have copied over new htc_ime.apk file over existing files in Mssmison's Eclair build - to install.
I can calibrate new keyboard (which is clearer than the existing HTC_IME) using the calibration tool but whenever I go to messaging/email app to activate it, I get a FC box.
Seems like we are missing something...

But HTC_IME keyboard that Mssmison has included his Eclair keyboard works fine...only problem with that keyboard is that it is not crispy clean.
Hey guys,
My apologies. I totally forgot to include this:
You need to rename/remove the file /system/lib/libt9.so (I suggest renaming to libt9bk.so). This is why you're getting errors. Note you need root permissions to do this. A program like Root Explorer will be able to do it (there are other options as well, but I use Root Explorer.)
I've updated the first post with installation instructions.
Working all good!, what lcd density do you recommend for this kb?, mine has a black box around the bottom/right which I think is affected by lcd.density
working great with 120 density.

Working nicely for me. But in the browser it doesnt use t9 dealbreaker for me - any way to do that?
I get an error libt9.so cannot be renamed because read only. I am using root explorer.

[HOW TO] Enable on-screen Navigation Bar

Before you start, you will need root access...
This method will work on any Android device that doesn't have an on-screen Navigation Bar...
Step 1: If you don't have it, download Root Browser..
Step 2: Once you open the app, slide down until you see a folder named "system" with an icon that consist of a moniter in front of a folder...
Step 3: Open that folder and slide down until you see a document named "build.prop"...
Step 4: Once you click the document, it will prompt you to open it with a certain app... click "RB Text Editor"...
Step 5: Slide all the way to the bottom of the document and under the last line, (which would probably say something like "ro.gps.agps_provider=1") type in "qemu.hw.mainkeys=0"...
Step 6: Once typed in click the save button on the top header... (Then it might prompt you to grant root access from either SuperSU or Superuser, if it does, click grant else the document won't save)...
Step 7: Reboot your phone...
Hope this Tutorial helped you guys out...! Leave a comment below if your having troubles getting the on-screen Navigation Bar...

Disable Hardware buttons
Open "Generic.kl" (within "/system/usr/keylayout" using Root Explorer (or equivalent) and place a "#" at the start of each of the following lines:
1) "key 139 MENU WAKE_DROPPED"
2) "key 158 BACK WAKE_DROPPED"
3) "key 172 HOME"
Once this is done, reboot to disable the Hardware buttons. Take care here because if you add a # to the wrong line, you won't have a way to wake the phone.

[MOD][Touchwiz] Quick Tiles on Marshmallow / Lollipop

Hi , I am going to show you how to enable more Quick Tiles which are "Hidden" on your Samsung Phone this should work on Galaxy A3,A5, and A7
;TouchSensitivity;TorchLight;Toolbox;SideKey;CarMode;
SmartPause;ToddlerMode;EBook;SBeam;NetworkBooster;DrivingMode;PersonalMode;SmartScroll;
you MUST type in the correct name (capital letters, no spaces, semicolons all count). One mistake will not show the tile
To make SideKey work you have to flash the SideKey zip with TWRP
How to Enable Them on Lollipop
Open SQlite Editor
On the Apps Tab Scroll down until you see "Settings Storage" and select it
Click on settings.db then on system
Now you can search or you can scroll down until you have found this line "notification_panel_active_app_list_for_reset" and select it
Now click on the pencil icon on the top to edit the file
In Value field, all enabled toggles are listed. Now we need to add some extra of them add this lines
After adding this line you can go to change the order of the tiles and pres "Reset"

Thanks It's working.
Bugs
1. Smart bulleten not showing
2. Swipe down to expand notifications not working ( fulmics rom feature ).
3. I set 5 apps to dock but after some time it automatically set to 4.
4. After changing wallpaper...Navigation bar is also brightened as shown in screen shot
Edit...
I changed the grid and brightening of navigation bar is fixed. Then if go to home screen by pressing home key then navigation bar brightens again...it is fixed until i go to home screen ( from app menu ) by pressing back key.
Navigation bar also brightens once i press recent app key... And remains bright unitl i again change grid

[MOD] [ROOT] Enable On-Screen Keys and Disable H/W Keys

This mod enables an on-screen navigation bar like Moto/Nexus/Pixel devices and disables the hardware navigation keys.
Tested and Working On
LineageOS 14.1
MIUI Pro ROM
Not Working On
Official MIUI8 & MIUI9 ROM
Xiaomi.EU ROM
Mi-Globe ROM
Requirements
Unlocked bootloader with TWRP installed : Guide
Root access - SuperUser or Magisk : Guide
Enabling on-screen navigation bar
Note: Some custom ROMs have a toggle to enable on-screen navigation bar in Settings. ( Eg. MIUI9 Pro)
Boot into TWRP. Backup > Select "system" partition (recommended)
Install any file manager app that supports root access such as Solid Explorer, MiXplorer
Open the app and grant root permissions. Go to the root folder > system > build.prop
Open it with the text editor and scroll to the bottom. Leave a line and enter the following text on the next line.
Code:
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
Save the file and reboot your phone. You should see an on-screen navigation bar on your screen.
Disabling hardware navigation keys
Note: Some custom ROMs have a toggle to disable the H/W key light in the Settings.
To disable the function of the H/W keys, boot into TWRP, flash Disable_HWKeys.zip and reboot
If you want to re-enable H/W keys, flash Enable_HWKeys.zip and reboot.
If you messed up somewhere, restore the "system" backup from TWRP.
Undertaking this turned off the hardware key on miui pro 9 but the buttons still light up.. How do I disable it?

Settings --> Additional Settings --> Notification Light --> Button Lights --> [Disable]
Maybe a stupid question, but out of curiosity, why would anyone need this mod?!
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 Not working on oreo. Can't enable nab bar.
Tested and working on MIUI 10 Global. Awesome.
Dev should update on what OS its working on.
It would be lovely if it could be customized further by adding extra keys since the screen is wide enough. If there is a way pls reveal
