Unknowingly deleted incallui.apk. I can't use the mobile now. Please help to solve it - K3 Note Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I unknowingly uninstalled incallui.apk from Lenovo K3 Note (k50a40) Indian version. Since then a error message keeps flashing (unfortunately InCallUi has stopped - "Ok" "Try to Solve"), whatever i click, it keeps flashing. I can't do anything on my mobile. Tried restoring using Titanium backup, it didn't worked. Re formatted from from stock recovery. But still the problem exists.
Please help me on how to solve this?
In stock recovery window i saw install update package. Is it possible to install a fresh stock ROM from SD Card using this option?
Please help, Matter Most Urgent.

Best option would be to go to settings -> backup and restore -> and perform a full factory reset.
See if it fixes the incallui problem. If not, you need to flash the stock/custom rom via SPF tool.
Back up your important docs/files first.

[Q] Deodexed Stock XXJVT - root problem

I installed Deodexed Stock XXJVT stock rom from here, and everything went well. Than I wanted to root it. I did that with this kernel CF-Root-XX_OXA_JVT-v4.3-CWM3RFS.zip, and it also went well. After that I wanted to "restore to factory settings" - format my user data. When I tried that, phone rebooted, than went to Android system recovery, and ask me to choose one of the options (see picture). I tried "wipe data/factory reset", but I got error messages from picture bellow. Tried again with same result.
Than I flashed phone with stock rom and stock kernel AGAIN. Tried to restore to factory settings, and 1. phone DIDN'T go to system recovery, and 2. erased all data WITHOUT any errors and with complete success.
Than I tried AGAIN (for the second time) to root with same kernel (again it went well). Than AGAIN tried to restore to factory settings (erase private data), and AGAIN problem mentioned above happened.
Now I have stock rom and stock kernel again. I need root for some things, but I don't know how to solve this problem. Could someone please help me with this?
Thanks.
hello
use odin to flash it see here
original rom xxjvt : http://www.techgom.com/2011/10/install-235-gingerbread-xxjvt-on.html
how to root it : http://www.techgom.com/2011/10/cf-root-for-gingerbread-235-xxjvt.html
-----
you must translate page to english with google chrome
You've already done a hard reset, so just install cf kernel again. Most instructions say wipe before flashing, you have still removed previous files etc
Sent using TCP/IP
Thanks both for quick reply.
@seghier
Thanks for these instructions. I did slightly different process. Maybe this why I got all these errors. I did use ODIN, but I flashed rom with "re-partition" checked (instruction says it shoudn't be checked), and also I used PIT while I am doing this and this instruction says I should do this without it. Check attachemnt picture for hw I did this.
Also, I did root with only PDA, and this tutorial says I should also PIT file included. See attachment for how I did this root.
I am a newbie so I am not sure if this could cause these errors? And did I do something wrong flashing and rooting phone my way?
Should I do this again following this two tutorials or not?
Also I am not sure what is DEODEXED means? Is there any differences between regular stock rom, and this DEODEXED one?
I just want regular stock rom and regular root.
oxeded rom is the original rom from samsung / deodexed is rom can be modified by users and you find in xda forums the difference
the method in photo is right
or you can install deodexed rom from here and the flash very easy :
http://www.multiupload.com/E9AT600ZUC
than use the files like see in image without pit or repartition
http://img707.imageshack.us/img707/1808/ppppas.png
Thanks, I will try now.
I still checked "re-partition" because I was using before DEODEXED, and now I am flashing ODEXED rom, so I thought maybe it is a different partition type. Is this ok? Flash went okay.
hello
when you find pit file repartition cheked automaticly
tell me if you success with flashing
Yes I did, thank you. But this problem with unable to restore to factory settings, after do root, still exist, even on ODEXED rom. It is deffinatelly some bug.
if you have problems you can format your sd card but first save all your files and data files using cwm : than create backup
you can try other deodexed rom from : s i9000 developement
i used the original deodexed rom and work fine
I don't have external SD card, just internal memory. Backup isn't problem. I wanted to delete all my personal data, but this error happenes. Did you try erase personal data AFTER did a root?
try this
settings ----- sd card and phone storage-------usb storage : format usb storage
and that remove all your files : music photos ...etc
-for hard reset try this : *2767*3855#
-factory data reset : *#*#7780#*#*
save all your photos and music ....
I already bring back some things, and also I managed to erased all that before doing root, so I won't experimenting anymore for now. Thak for your help. I will try this next time I want to clean my phone completly.
i hope that work for you
and deodexed rom more better because you can add new theme or launcher or flash update without limit than oxeded rom
good luck
Thanks.
try a new kernel
working now? please give a feedback ?
Like a wrote before. DEODEXED and ODEXED both work and I CAN restore to factory settings. After do root, it can't ba done anymore. I tried every possible combination, but result is same, so I guess that can't be done (which isn't so importante to me because I already restored to factory settings before apply root).
I didn't try other kernel (don't know either where to find other kernel), because I already installed programs, made personal settings, so I don't want again to wype all that.
If someone of you could try this it would be okay.
try semaphore kernel is very nice :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1112908
use this application to install kernel :
https://market.android.com/details?id=neldar.sgs.kernel.flasher
and this application for save all your application to external card and you can restore it :
http://fr.appbrain.com/app/app-backup-restore/mobi.infolife.appbackup
--------
and don t forget to make backup with cwm
I am not so experienced about all this. What is difference between semaphore kernel and that other kernel I used for root?
Also if someone else could try this, who need to clean phone anyway, because I just make everything to work OK, so I don't want to experiment again.

Ok, there is no need to open a new thread for this stuff. You already had one....
That is because you are doing dirty flashes. Do the following:
Reboot into stock recovery and flash philz kernel (just to make sure that you are safe)
Reboot recovery (you should have CWM now)
Do a full wipe (wipe data/factory reset - wipe cache partition - format system - format data - format preload)
Reboot in download mode and re flash the Stock firmware with ODIN PC
Then you should be ready to go...

Re-installing OS -- Help Needed

Hello,
I am on latest stock firmware, and want to completely erase my phone and install a fresh copy of latest OS.
Now, I am not at all feeling comfortable in flashing myself as I am having limited knowledge and I fear I will end up screwing phone.
If I visit Samsung service center, they just reset the phone... when told to install fresh copy of OS.
So, what to tell them so they understand that I want all old OS related things to be deleted and install a fresh copy of OS. Also what I have to see to make sure they are indeed doing what I am saying... what will screen display ?
Sum pointers plz.

Pointers:
1. Install a philz kernel.
2. Wipe all the partitions after that.
3. Download the stock firmware from sammobile.com or Dr Ketans thread from XDA (this thread also has instructions/how-to for how to flash using odin)
4. Use odin to flash stock rom in download mode.
Before you proceed and make any mistake read about all the above and understand the risk associated.
LOL. ok ill try not to laugh
goto settings about phone. check your version ... there may not be a update.
restart your phone "hold volume up and the menu button" when u get to factory recovery. use the "wipe/factory reset" that is as close as your going to get, (without using a custom rom). once done. u can goto the same "settings / about phone" and check "software update". if there is an update, you can download and apply it from there.
also check you have enough battery life before doing this.

Cant I just go to settings and under backuo & reset --> factory data reset.
Is the this the same as the method u suggested above ?
First of all make sure wat u want to do, if updated stock firmware is wat u want then reset your phone and then update it if there is any.. this is the safe mode.
Now the other option u got is root it, install cmw, install kernel, n lastly custom ROM it will allow you to change CPU frequency and much more.. choose any custom ROM its olwAys better in the most criterias. But if you wanna stick to the stock ROM. . Just reset it.

yes, almost the same, except. none of the files will be in use. if you use the restart method.
actually i think if you do the FACTORY reset from the phone while its booted. it will just restart and do the same "recovery" method? right?
sorry been a while since i did booted WIPE.
@ sushantp606
judging from the responses and stuff here. I am thinking this user is not at the stage to consider the stuff you posted, they are only after a basic wipe and update of the rom.
The problem is everybody always speak abt wipe... I don't wana wipe, I wana install fresh clean copy of latest official OS.

[Q] Flash stock ROM by Odin dont erase all user data?

I was surprised that after flashing stock ROM by ODIN, phone was not cleaned from the user data.
I mean: account settings, applications installed by user, etc.
I know that flashing dont erase data from internal/external SD card, but why all data was still exist?
Only Wipe Data / Factory Reset will erase all user data?
Btw, Merry Xmas

Nope, factory reset will not erase all user data. Go into setting/storage and delete from there (not sure cause I didn't have the device now). If you want to erase using odin, tick the repartition box while flashing the firmware. This is the easiest way I think.
Odin flash doesn't wipe user apps and their data, but it may cause bugs if you come from another ROM...
E.g : if u soft bricked on stock JB, just odin flash is necessary.
for other ROMs, it may or may not lag.
I will describe my way.
I tried to install CM 10.2
I did factory reset, next steps follow procedure.
When I did first start, unfortunately keyboard stop working, so my cyjanogen install failed and I decided back to old system using backup.
After restore and start, phone required settings like on first start after factory reset.
Lol, big surprise.
Ok, I entered necessary information but after reset -
again same like after factory reset
I tried from another backup with same result.
Hmm, big mess.
So I flash stock ROM by Odin.
And new surprise - phone with fresh system and all my own settings and applications from last restore.
Two disappointments:
1. Restore from backup does not cause a return to the initial state.
2. Flash ROM by Odin don't make factory state of phone.
I have question, if format partitions: system and data and next restore backup will do real state phone on this backup?

1. Almost every restore from backup for me it returned phone on state when backup was made. Only if my backup was bad (did not have enough place on sd for backup or something corrupted it).
2. Flashing stock ROM by Odin do not touch data partition (or folder whatever it is). So if you want to erase that, you need to make factory reset. It is like that on every Samsung Android device - I am not sure for other, never used.
When you come back from any CM10.2, Omni 4.3 and CM11 based ROM - first flash stock with Odin, do factory reset - and after that restore backup (ofcourse first root, install CoCore kernel for CWM before restore - you can't use restore in stock recovery).
Tnx for answers.
This is weird that format system partition not enough to get rid of the CM
But I checked this again and exactly after refresh ROM by Odin - restore my settings and data works fine.
Hmm imo this is mess in whole Android system

Explanation for that, TeamJanica used preload partition for swap, and it is patitioned in other format than the one stock ROM use. That partition is not used on CM for files, but it has it's use on stock based ROM.

supposedly you have downloaded the stock FW, flash via Odin with re-partition ticked. if it fails, extract the PIT file from CSC_OMC_OXM_XXX save it in a location and load it at the pit session via Odin the re-flash again with re-partition ticked.

Question Need help installing Xiaomi EU Weekly

Hey, so i opened my Bootloader and now I cant find how the hell to flash the latest Weekly version of Xiaomi EU, can someone help me? I searched on youtube but they flash via Fastboot and I don't see a weekly version with Fastboot
Follow the instructions found on the first post here https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...mi-eu-rom-for-xiaomi-mi-11-pro-ultra.4260617/
Look at the bottom, there's an edit that tells you how to install TWRP, that's the primary way to install the new versions of that rom

HELP - i flashed the EU rom and wiped Dalvik cache, and reeboted, now It reboots to the TWRP over and over again, what do I need to do?
You also need to wipe data and such before flashing, so maybe you didn't notice or forgot, but as long as you have TWRP, you can recover.
Maybe your ROM download got corrupted. If possible, check the checksum, they should provide it.
It's also possible your USB port + cable combo doesn't work properly, it's happened to many people, so if you are sure it's not the rest, it might be just that

I flashed it but now every app I open crushes, Im on weekly version and I restored apps from the Xaiomi backup, do you know why?
I can't say I do, but I'd assume it's because Xiaomi backup is configured to work only on stock roms.
It's possible that uninstalling and reinstalling each app using whatever the proper app shop is for the given app will fix it without losing the restored data and cache for it.

I would always assume auto backup things to fail when you need them.
Try to reflash your original rom from here and restore using the same backup tool: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/miui-updates-tracker-mi-11-pro-ultra-star-mars.4263135/
Then you can reevaluate how you wanna backup and restore to transition.
It's possible it failed because you have an official rom backup, but it would work if the tool had backed up from Eu to Eu

I dont wanna mess with reinstalling CN version, etc
I will just Factory reset and reinstall manually..
To factory reset in brings me to TWRP, why is it?
Because you installed TWRP instead of the normal recovery utility, you now have TRWP in that partition on your phone. If you use TWRP to flash the proper stock ROM, it will have the same effect as using factory reset using the stock recovery utility. BTW, the stock recovery utility is not built to support having flashed another rom, so you're in good hands having TWRP instead.
You probably had issues because you only wiped dalvik rather than format data after installing the EU ROM. You must format data after flash because the different branches have different partition layouts, hence your problems.
As you must format, you might as well start from scratch again or go in to twrp wipe menu and select format, type yes to confirm and then reboot system. If you want to go down the full install, then flash the ROM again, format data, with the yes confirmation, then reboot system. After each update, just a dalvik wipe is
