[ROM]Neked-Nook-PB1-5.1.1-710/810 - 3-26-16 - Galaxy Tab S2 Android Development

Nothing works quite as well as stock in my opinion. So here is a stripped down version of the BOJ1 Nook Rom. It should work on any 710/810. So may I present to you for your flashing pleasure....
Neked Nook
See post #2 for Permissive 710/810 kernels and other extras. Boot ani and BNN Stuff
Features:
710/810 PB1 version of Neked_Nook Both use Updater-script Based on XAR 3-26-16
710/810 version with NO BNN Stuff. Uses updater-script. 3-20-16
710/810 version with Xposed built in - 3-18-16
Choose to your liking
810 version of Nook
Almost all Samsung apps removed
Bloat removed
apps moved to data - Estrong explorer
Removed almost all downloadable apps from /system - give the Tab some wiggle room.
Permissive kernel
init.d support in kernel
init.d scripts
Permission fix for writing to Ext SD
build prop tweaks
zipalign /data apps on reboot
busybox
Probably other stuff I can't remember
Install: This must be a clean install to work as I made it. No restoring either from Tb or TWRP or...
In TWRP, wipe /system, /cache, /data, /dalvic
Flash ROM
Profit!!
Notes:
On first boot you can sign in to Samsung if you want. It'll give you an option to restore.
SU will need to be updated. Just do it through the Playstore.
******
Not in PB1 version If you DO NOT want the BNN interface/apps, you'll need to use a rooted explorer and delete /system/app/NookAMV. Then got to App Manager and uninstall Nook.app.
*******
Xposed versions can take up to 5min on first boot. Just be aware
******
Possible bugs
None that I know of.
I can't help you if its not a clean install
xposed- just not a fan. It affects performance
Restores from anything - not a fan of Tb either. It creates issues also.
Screenshots below:
1st one is if you remove the BNN apps this is what you're left with
2nd is the Home Page. BNN icon in bottom left

It should be. Unless there a change in OJ1. I don't use netflix on my tab so I can't really check into it.

Well I did a system wide search and the file is nowhere to be found :/ tomorrow I will search for other solutions and will let you know

Ah it's arrived! Ty for your work!
Could someone please see if Amplify works? It's the only closed module I iuse on my current Canadian 5.1.1 stock ROM.
Also, does the nook do away with touchwiz? Can't seem to find any conclusions screenshots in Google...

I'm not sure about Amplify as I don't use it.
I posted a couple screenshots in the OP now. Hopefully they answer your questions. Touchwizz is still there.

Just to let you know that netflix works after this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2101525
Now everything is up and amazing!!
Thx again for your hard work.

Post #2 has 810 Permissive Kernel.
And .zip of removed apps. You'll need to manually install which ones you want and set permissions accordingly.
Edit: Also added an "Add apps flashable" zip to post #2 - just add the apps you want back in and flash

Gonna need a tester or 2 for the 810 version. It's uploading now and should be available in about a half hour. We'll call it Beta but there should be no issues. Either post here or send a PM. @danyvw if your interested.
Edit: Or look me up on AFH, dl it, and post if there's issues.
Edit #2: PULLED until I can figure out issues.

Do you plan t715 build? I can test.

I don't. Not yet anyway. It depends if I can build your kernel from the same source as the 710/810. Then I would also need your build.prop so I could edit it. Maybe in a few weeks. We'll see.

Use the normal one if you are running: CM, AOSB, Slim, or Beanstalk.
Use alternate if you are running: Carbon or Omni
Since PAC adds its own custom frameworks, it will have its own version.
If you flash the wrong one, you will be stuck on the bootanimation. Easy fix, just go flash the other one.
Installation:
Flash in recovery.
Then flash SuperSU
Goals of this kernel:
The objective of this kernel is to have a kernel for daily use. It does not aim for best battery life, or best smoothness or best benchmark scores. It aims more for a good mix of all, not sacrificing stability and functionality in the end. With that being said, I am open to any suggestions and contributions, but I will only implement it in if it makes sense to me and does not hinder one's experience using this as a daily driver. Also, try to limit talk of benchmark scores because they do not accurately depict real life experience.

Check Boeffla sound problem
Doubletap2wake (low priority since our hardware limitations will cause it to have massive battery drain)
USB OTG
Touchwake(?)
Patch up to Linux 3.0.101
Dual boot (not sure since I don't use it much, but i may implement it in the future)

Yeah, I was planning to so flashable zips in the future. This first release is like a beta. I need to make sure all 3 variants work properly. You have the n5100 right? I heard from tejkkarani that it takes forever to boot so hold off on flashing for now. (Great if anyone else could confirm this) I'm going to take a look at it today.

I sent you a PM. Its recommended to use Heimdall, but that way might work. Try it. I'll try to get a flashable zip asap. Computer is compiling a new ROM right now so I'll see after that.
EDIT: The flashable zip should be available soon. I'm testing it on my n5110. Check your PM in a few mins.
EDIT2: Sent you a PM, can you test it now?

I apologize for the inconvenience. Just realized that this kernel does not work on anything but PAC. Therefore, I will spend a lot more time testing before releasing again. Thread will be closed until further notice.
Thread re-opened. Figured out the problem faster than I initially expected. Downloads are up for the N5110. I have personally tested them on the ROMs we have. There are two different versions for now so please download the correct one. Enjoy!
FYI: N5100 builds will start shortly (approximately 12-24 hours from now or so), and N5120 will start a day or two after that.
Edit: N5100 should be ready now.
Using on CM 11 (cm-11-20140226-NIGHTLY-n5100.zip) .. not bootloop for me. Works perfectly. As I have installed it just now cant comment on the performance or battery life. Using GravityBox (KK) with Xposed Framework. Didnt face any issues yet.
working with AOSB 1.3.0 on N5100 from 23rd February 2014 , no problem so far.

whoops, just checked the code. I forgot to enable it in the defconfigs (files and everything are all in place though). I'll enable it next release. And no its not, I'm going to change the name to DracoKernel in future releases. Currently, thats not too high on my priority list.
Edit: Boeffla sound may take a while. Enabled it but app isn't recognizing that the kernel has the feature..
EDIT! nevermind, i'm an idiot, lol. thanks for this kernel by the way! definitely kicks major ass!

[ROM] Steel Droid v1.0.9 BETA (MAY 13)

Steel Droid - Now for the G2!
This is my first attempt at a ROM for the G2. I can build one from source, but wanted to try my hand at modding a stock OTA.
This ROM is based on the Verizon 24a OTA. That being said, you must be using a 24a bootstack for this to work.
This is a blended ROM. Kind of like what some of you might remember from my Droid 3 days. Mods, additions, bloat removal, and eventual theming.
I DO need some help with deodexing and odexing. If you want to lend some knowledge/files, PM me!
Changelog:
v1.0.9 (BETA)
* Removed SOME bloat from /system/app/
* Added xdabbeb's 3.1.0 Camera mod
* Added in my custom ad-blocking hosts file
* Optimized and compressed all audio files (ogg)
* USB autorun ISO removed

To all those having trouble downloading:
This is the only place I have right now that will let me upload a file over 500MB. I will eventually be getting my own website/hosting, but thats once I get my finances in place with enough extra to afford it. Im close, but not quite where I feel comfortable with it yet.
AFH just upgraded their severs, so things will be mirroring for a while until the system is back up to date. Sorry for it being slow, but its all I have right now
If this boots, there's a high chance I will begin to include Dorimanx's KK kernels in my releases. His kernel, combined with his STweaks app, is basically unbeatable. Wish it played nice with xdabbeb's ROM, but oh well. Maybe in time...

[BASE][UPDATED] H811 Deodexed Base Installer v2 10.10.2015

TMobile G4-H811
Edit: The v2 will be replacing the original version as a completely unmodified Stock version. Sorry about the confusion. Pay no attention to the screenshot. This one is completely stock with the stock icons and status bar and all the LG stuff.
Okay So I am not going to make a fancy op. This will mostly be for developers and people who want a deodexed base. This is a deodexed system of app, priv-app, framework and libs. It does boot. SuperSU is included in the system apps, but as this is just raw files, it will not root your system. This is designed to be flashed over a current 10n installation and it WILL NOT work for other software versions. If you want to maintain a full rom, fine, I dont care. If you want to make it easy you are more than welcome to use this. This is NOT debloated, so do it on your own. I am just trying to make it easy for everyone. Seems everyone has hit a brick wall with this phone, and my rom is going to take a while before I release it, So I thought I would spark some creativity and give you guys a jump start :good:
I will not be answering many questions about this. Use it at your own risk. Flash in TWRP recovery. Flashfire is NOT RECOMMENDED. If you look at the updater script you will see why. TWRP ONLY
First Boot will take a while. I tested this at least 10 times on my own phone and it seems to want to skip the boot animation so dont freak out. Give it a good 10 minuted before attempting anything drastic like a battery pull.
I only have 2 requests to use this. One of them is a must. The second one is a preference.
If you use this: Give proper credits in the OP and DO NOT ASK OR PM ME. Just do it!:good::highfive:
The Second one: Please dont use this to make zip roms of random copy and paste xposed roms. You can do that with an Odexed image. Seriously, I dont want to see this end up like a Samsung forum

If your current 10n installation is already rooted. This will not affect that. Thats why i included the app because most people are already rooted. Since this is basically a deodexed framework and app pack no data wipe is needed and none of your settings will be changed. Simply flash in TWRP.
If you are not already rooted simply flash a rooted image prior to this or flash the su zip from chainfire.

You're welcome bud.
I was hoping that releasing this and not just sitting on it would actually spark a little bit of development. I have a long way to go before mine is ready for release, however this might give some devs a break as I know that a bunch have run into issues deodexing and even making a flashable system unless its a direct copy of their image.
Nice AOSP icons and mods. I like it! Can't wait for your rom. Thanks again.

Seems to have fixed WiFi calling issues but the smart notice weather widget appears to be broken. Just time and stagnant welcome to smart notice. I tried clearing chance, reinstalling weather and weather theme, no luck. Any ideas? Besides new weather widget lol unless I absolutely have to.

I got it working by installing the lg weather service apk from another thread. I simply opened the zip and installed the app using the package installer.

Flashing this causes a bootloop because you're force-deleting dalvik-cache in your updater-script. The phone will recompile the APKs on its own on first boot, so that line is unnecessary.
Also, can we have a completely unmodified version? I appreciate the SystemUI modifications, but I like my clock on the right, my navbar bigger, and the other LG stuff stock. Thank you!

It is unmodified, unless somehow I got the wrong UI in the zip which I dont think that I did. And it doesn't cause a bootloop. I force clear dalvik because as I seem to be the only one who has been able to get a deodexed system going on ANY of the G4's, I found that it was necessary to delete recursively because I found there was some left overs if you let the system do it for you. You are free to experiment with it though.
I installed this and booted fine. I had WiFi calling of course. I then installed Xposed 74 and I booted fine and still had WiFi calling. I made a call to test WiFi calling and it works.
I loaded a few modules in Xposed and bootlooped once I enabled them. Turned out that not Xinstaller but Network Speed Indicator was the culprit. I removed Network Speed Indicator module and I'm fine. I tested this with Xposed 74 and then 75.
This ROM gives me WiFi calling with Xposed version 74 and version 75. I go on and off my WiFi network and WiFi calling gets enabled while I'm on my network as it should. I've made several calls with Xposed 74 and 75 and WiFi calling works fine.
I am now using Xposed 75 and I have a few modules enabled. This rom works great!
I have WiFi calling, modules enabled in Xposed 75, a cool AOSP look and I'm happy. I am using this as my daily driver now.

Hmm, maybe there's something wrong with my phone, then. Clearing dalvik even from TWRP made it bootloop. I'll investigate, thanks for the info.
As for the SystemUI modifications, after I flashed the ZIP, suddenly my clock was in the center of the status bar, my Quick Settings toggles started looking very AOSP, same for the On/Off switch toggles in the Settings app, overall the phone started looking AOSPified in random places... could you check if the SystemUI in the ZIP is the correct one? I appreciate it and thank you for posting this!

When you say that you are bootlooping... Explain further please. Were you able to get a log? Was it on the boot animation? The white TMobile screen NOT the LG splash screen.
If it is sitting on the LG screen you should be fine. As I said in the op this seems to want to skip the TMobile boot animation for some reason. I am still trying to figure that one out. It will appear to have stalled on the LG splash screen, but its okay.
Also like I said in the OP... There is NO need to wipe ANYTHING with this. All you need to do is flash it over the top of a current working 10n rom. That is all. It shouldnt bootloop. You dont need to do anything else. Just flash.
LOL
"It started looking very AOSPified in random places."
Yeah... I will look at it. I may have inadvertently got the wrong UI in there. Sorry buddy. My system is a mess right now.

Attempting to allow US variants and N910G use N910F ROMs Touchwiz, Snapdragon Only

Simply put I will host two posts, one for the US variants and the other for N910G.
I'm attempting to fix the data issues and booting issues that occur when trying to boot the ROMs.
If you want other people to use this fix simply link them to this thread.
This is an attempt and by no means does it entail that it will work, this is an experiment.
The kernels provided are not created by me and all credits are due to the developers who created them.
The US variant kernel used is created by @freeza and I thank him for creating it.
US variants
Follow these instructions carefully and do not skip steps.
Update to the latest stock 5.1.1 firmware for your device.
N910V:
DataFix
Multisystem Kernel by @hsbadr
Other US users please download and flash :
Kernel 1
Or if the first one doesn't work.
Kernel 2
(Both kernels created by @freeza)
Stock 5.1.1 N910F ROMs:
Based on COI3:
Data Fix
Based on COJ3:
Data Fix
Note5 Ports: (These should work with stock based ROMs as well.
N910W8:
Data Fix
N910T/T3:
DataFix 1
Data Fix 2
N910P: (4G Doesn't seem to work?).
Data Fix 1
Data Fix 2
Flash DataFix 2 then DataFix 1.
I would advise a clean install, this in an experiment to see if it fixes issues, so make a back-up.
Move the files to your internal storage.
Make a back-up of your current ROM.
Wipe /system /data /cache /DalvikCache /AndroidSecure
Flash the ROM.zip
Flash the Kernel.zip
Flash the DataFix.zip
Reboot.
Please report back.
If you want other people to use this fix simply link them to this thread.
The kernel can be shared.
N910G
Follow these instructions carefully and do not skip steps.
Update to the latest stock 5.1.1 firmware or the ROM's matching firmware version for your device.
Download the ROM.zip and then Dr.Ketan_L10 kernel
[Thanks to @dr.ketan for the kernel and thanks to @MBariya for testing it out] This kernel only works with COH4 modem and bootloader.
OR install Nameless Kernel.
Thanks to Nameless Team, Er.Aditya, Crimsonthunder and Senthil360.
Move the files to your internal storage.
Make a back-up of your current ROM.
Wipe /system /data /cache /DalvikCache /AndroidSecure
Flash the ROM.zip
Flash the Kernel.zip
Reboot.

For luck
I'll be right back ?
found two bugs after flashing the kernel and datafix you proposed in the other thread. It doesn't display my carrier name anymore, on the homescreen only, lock screen still shows Rogers, which is not big deal but i get a connection and can make calls just fine. I also get a message saying my places stopped working whatever that is.... No freezes so far!
I'm on W8 which i heard is the same HW as 910T.

You are welcome I think the bigger task seems to be N910G, though I had expected the opposite
Not good phone froze during a call. I flashed back the first firmware, waiting to see if that works. I used the data fix that's labeled note 5 port for w8-T. So far the UI is OK. I'm curious to know if it's the kernel or the data fix that makes itfreeze

Is the kernel necessary to get network or is it just the datafix? If I flash the rom again and the datafix only would it work?

Lol I would imagine the same as well. In most cases the US variants normally have quit the problematic experience but it seems to be the contrary atm. Hope the fix needed for N910G is figured out because this Rom should be enjoyed by all interested. I have a question though. Kyubi Bloatware edition is no longer supported by their developer, is that a precursor to the unbloated variant as well? Sorry in advance if there is no correlation between the two.

Did you flash any other mod?

Unofficial EFIDroid for Samsung Galaxy S5 (Qualcomm)

EFIDroid is a easy to use, powerful 2ndstage-bootloader based on EDKII(UEFI).
It can be installed one-click with the EFIDroidManager app. You can add/remove/edit multiboot ROM's.
There's no special support needed by ROM's or RecoveryTools(no kexec etc).
EFIDroid official/generic thread here
Supported devices
Note: Tested on SM-G900V/kltevzw other variant are untested, but should work.
samsung/klteuc
samsung/kltevl
samsung/kltespr
samsung/kltetmo
samsung/klteusc
samsung/kltevzw
samsung/klteub

FAQ
this is a UEFI port, can we port Windows?
no, trust me.
Can I still use fastboot after installing this?
If you flash to the boot/recovery partitions, UEFI will be overwritten.(dd in android/recovery instead). all other partitions work as usual.
I FOUND A BUG
Report it on Github. If there already is an issue for your bug and you don't have anything useful to add, just hit the thumbs-up button. This way I know how many people are affected and can adjust my priority list. I will not keep track of all bugs reported in posts of this thread. If you want a bug to get fixed, report it on github
Installation
Just download the attached EFIDroidManager App, the EFIDroid Manager app from the Play Store won't work.
Open the menu (at the top left), and click "Install/Update".
Click the big orange Install button.
Multibooting
You can use EFIDroid as a multiboot manager. To add a multiboot ROM, do the following:
Open the EFIDroid Manager app. Press the plus button at the bottom right side of the screen to start adding a multiboot slot.
Under "Location", there should be a couple paths. Select the one containing "/data/media/0".
You can give the slot a name/description by using the appropriate fields.
Press the checkmark at the top right side of the screen to create the multiboot slot.
Reboot. When EFIDroid comes up, select TWRP, then select the newly created slot.
Go to the "Wipe > Advanced Wipe" menu. Select "System", then swipe to wipe.
Install all the zips you want on that slot.
NOTE: To prevent accidentall data loss when booting in recovery the real /sdcard gets mocked so you are not going to find your .zips as usual under TWRP's /sdcard. To acces the "real" /sdcard go to /multiboot/data/media/0
Reboot, and when EFIDroid comes up, your new slot should automatically be selected. Press the power button to boot, and enjoy!
IMPORTANT:your main ROM should boot without changing any configuration on EFIDroid but secondary ROM's are used to fail because of selinux denials. I strongly reccomend you to enable Force SELinux to permissive under EFIDroid options (the Gear icon in the main screen placed at the top right) - Once you kwon your secondary ROM is working you can try to boot without this option disabled - If you end up in a bootloop logcat and dmesg are welcome.

Does this use the Qualcomm S5 bootloader vulnerability that is going to be fixed with the Samsung March Security Patch? If so, people may need to revert/prevent updating to avoid problems.

Multiboot currently not working on kltevze, dont know about other variants!
Any way I was working on multiboot recovery and got it to work on s5, I will release new build soon.

Thank you bro. Sure I'm going to test your new build :highfive::highfive:
Well... I'm in a sh*ithole at the moment. I updated my ROM (CosmicOS) or maybe was it because of updating Magisk?)) & now I can't anymore boot to it nor can I go to recovery... When I try to boot the ROM (says Android 7.1.1 (internal)) then it's on the "Booting Android 7.1.1..." phase & then?
Error
can't find tagloader for type 'RAW'(-1)
Is there a way to bring back my ROM to life? Only the fastboot & Download mode work...
EDIT: I managed to get TWRP to work, which is a little success... But it now redirects me to it when I try to boot the ROM
EDIT 2: Well, unfortunately, I had to wipe the OS & install it again but this time it booted normally, which makes me happy & doesn't at the same time... If the dev could answer me on all of that, would be gr8
