Impossible to install Xposed - Xposed General

Hello, I've been trying to install Xposed in Huawei Ascend G300 CyanogenMod 9 (4.0.4), but it never gives positive result.
The Xposed Installer apk does not give problems, but when pulse the option of installing in the Framwork tab, throws error. I've tried all modes of installation:
* Classic (installed in tracking)
* Recovery (Flash zip automatically)
* Recovery (put zip in your SD card and Flash manually)
I've also downloaded a zip file and I proceeded to install from recovery (TWRP), but it was useless. They have not served wipes of cache and Dalvík. I've tried several Xposed, also older versions.
Can someone help me?
Thanks a lot.

Thank you, mate. I got it.
It now shows me an update is available, version 2.7.
By the way, will I have problems with modules for having an old version of Xposed?

Ignore update, you shouldn't have any module problems as long as the required xposed version is below or the same as yours(if it is too low the module will refuse to activate)

Why haven't you updated to cm 11 yet? android 4.0 was so awful compared to ios 6 at the time there was literally no competition who was faster 4.1 majorly improved androids speeds and fluidity that it could actually compete. To me it seems like the worst descision ever to stay on 4.0

Haha. Now I would like to upgrade to CM11 and that phone worked well! However, I devoted many hours when was my main mobile and tried several ROMs. CM9 is that was going better.
I think that it is become a little weary at the hardware level, it has aged badly.
Only I already use this mobile home, to tinker a bit.
"If something works is better not to touch it," I think of this phrase whenever I remember this mobile. Before I was not so, but I am old... I just want to last me, but I can not deprive me play with applications, configurations, etc. But now nothing changes of ROMs. Haha.

[TUTORIAL] How to install Xposed Framework on Huawei P8 Lite

Hey guys!
Please notice this is my first xda post. I tried 2 days to make xPosed work on my P8 Lite and that would be just rude not to show you the exact way. So, there we go.
Tested and proven working on EMUI 3.1 Android 5.0.1. I've got some trouble with modules like Gravity Box, but I'm on my way of solving them.
I take no responsibility if you screw up. Do this tutorial step by step and be careful.
Xposed manual zip installer
(this will come in handy in step 7 and further)
EMUI 3.1 Android 5.0.*: http://dl-xda.xposed.info/framework/sdk21/arm64/xposed-v78-sdk21-arm64.zip (tested by me, working)
EMUI 3.1 Android 5.1.1: http://dl-xda.xposed.info/framework/sdk22/arm64/xposed-v78-sdk22-arm64.zip (tested by community, seems to work )
EMUI 4.0 Android 6.0: http://dl-xda.xposed.info/framework/sdk23/arm64/xposed-v78-sdk23-arm64.zip (might be a bit problematic, because result seems to be random, although I think you should be fine)
Installing Xposed Framework
Make sure you are a patient person. Some operations may require waiting, trying or even unbricking your device!
Unlock bootloader and root your phone. You can use (this tutorial).
Download and install XposedInstaller_3.0-alpha4.apk but don't install the framework.
This step is really messy. Firmwares differ a lot, but you should find appropriate file/line/folder in your device. Just remember about step 1)
Using any root browser (I'm using Root Browser) open your /system/build.prop file (on some firmwares the location can be /system/emui/base/prop/ or cust/hw/eu/local.prop thanks @Jak08)
Add those lines to the build.prop file. If they exist already, change their values (or simply delete them and add new ones):
Code:
ro.config.themecolor=0
ro.config.hwtheme=0
ro.config.hw_theme=0
NOTE: In some cases modifying ro.config.themecolor may cause bootloop. I recommend you try first time without this line!!!!
Save the file granting superuser permissions
Install TWRP (as described here)
Download and place in your root internal storage directory previously downloaded zip file.
Reboot your phone into recovery mode (you can use adb reboot recovery command, or you can simply start your phone holding power and volume up button but BE CAREFUL: PLUG OUT YOUR USB CABLE!!! if you decided to start it up without adb. If you won't, you'll go into bootloader mode) And also, step 1.
Install zip package
Wipe cache and dalvik cache
Reboot your phone to system
First time it can take up to 15 minutes to boot so don't panic (hey, step 1!). If nothing happens after 30 minutes, here's how you unbrick it. Notice that you only have to re-flash the system partition.
Proof it's working and what modules I'm using is in attachments. GravityBox has several problems, other than that, everything's good.
FAQ/Troubleshooter:
Q: Why do I get an error while...
A: Yeah, make sure you've got your bootloader unlocked and phone rooted correctly. You can check root with any 'root checker' app from store
Q: I'm booting into EMUI recovery instead of TWRP. Will it do the work?
A: No. You have to have TWRP installed, otherwise you won't be able to flash zip correctly and wipe cache.
Q: Can I flash zip in bootloader?
A: No! I had that idea once and it gave me hours of recovery. Don't even try.
Q: My modules modifying looks won't work. Why?
A: Make sure you modified build.prop as told
Who do you credit this solution to?
A: mfbcool and some guy at polish Android forum gave suggestion about lines in build.prop and rovo89 created Xposed. Other than that, I figured out everything by myself. I just gave you links to the parts I did by myself and did't want to describe here.
It isn't working. I bricked my phone. What to do?
A: Unbrick it, silly.
It is working. How can I thank you?
A: I think there's an option to say thanks here. Give me and rovo89 thumb up and we're fine.
It doesn't work for me with this method. It says Xposed Framework version 83 is installed but not active. The logs are empty.
Im on android 6.0 b550

In that case you have to make sure that ro.config.hwtheme is set to 0. What you get is working Xposed Framework WITHOUT Resource Hooks. Huaweii Theme Engine works the same way as Xposed so one of those has to work or not. Make sure you saved your build.prop file properly.
Also, if your firmware has /system/emui/base/prop/local.prop, update that too.
Thanks for sharing your experience,
Kajtek
It works.
Thanks.

[Guide] Install Xposed/Rooting Op3 Open Beta 7

Looking for Xposed on open beta 7
Well I HV got you covered with this simple short Guide
Many people get error / status 1 wile flashing normal Xposed.zip
This method will install magisk and Xposed framework
First download files which are required:
Magisk V9: Click Here
Xposed Installer zip: Click Here
PhhSuper user zip: Click Here
PhhSuper user : Click Here
Xposed installer: Click Here
Twrp Modified: Click Here
Now Flash
1)Modified Twrp
2)Magisk V9
3)SuperSu (Optional)
4)And Xposed Installer zip
5)Reboot ( First reboot will take some time )
Install PhhSuper followed by Xposed installer apk
Done
* Xposed is not fully compatible with Nov Security Patches yet, so some modules would end you up in a bootloop!!
You can though update to latest version of Xposed(System less) via the app itself.
System will reboot twice when you flash SuperSU
Rovo89 has released new Xposed framework version that works with latest beta built v7 of OOS. I've just tried it and it work.
First uninstall few unwanted apps which you don't use if you get error like no space etc..
This new build will not give bootloop. It works with Nov 1 patch!.
!!!!This is a test version risk is all on you don't blame me.!!!

Only certain modules work like youtubeadaway, certain ones will won't let you pass the boot screen, like greenify xposed
A few steps are missing !
- Flash your favorite kernel on top of this.
- Finally enjoy the best performance and battery life on your phone.
Oops I almost forgot the final step !
- Complain to the kernel developer and ask him to fix:
....the battery drain.
...the slow fingerprint reader
...the phone overheating
...the random reboots
...the weak wifi signal
...any strange behaviour that needs fixing
Any list of working modules ?

This post was not required at all IMO. Flashing and using Xposed is totally one's choice and people are totally aware that Xposed means no support from kernel/ROM devs. But why this unrequired bashing?

I totally agree that people have the choice to flash and install whatever they want, this is certainly the main reason why we love android. However many people root, flash Xposed and more recently magisk without understanding the implications. Those are amazing pieces of software, really powerful and I have a huge respect for the developers. However I don't think anyone should flash those without a basic understanding of what they do to the system. (And why it means no support from kernel/ROM devs).
My post was mainly a parody of the current discussions in the forums. Simply, look at this thread, it's supposed to be a guide to help people and make things easier for everyone. Most of the replies should be something like 'thanks it works great', not confused people or with issues (like bootloops for example....)

Is Xposed preventing you from upgrading to Nougat?

Actually I did upgrade to N and kept using it for like 6 months before I downgrade to MM again.
Also the reason for me to not upgrade. Actually the reason for me to build lineage 13 for my device (thea)...
Xposed is love, xposed is life!

I'm the first "No" in the round... although I would be happier to select... "no, but...", because I'm checking the xposed development multiple times a week, because I really miss some xposed modules. Life definitely is not the same without xposed, but I still prefer an updated and fully patched phone rather than an "outdated" version with less features (Android wise, of course you can do crazy stuff with xposed) and downgraded performance.
No xposed, no android.
All my three devices are still stuck on 6.0.1 because of this..
XPOSED appears to be dead or as good as so I won't be waiting much longer. I don't want to wait for every new Android release. I'll be looking for a suitable alternative ROM.
I can't imagine android without GravityBox or App Settings not to mention dozens of small single purpose modules. It's a shame that Xposed is developed with one developer only.
Even if xposed comes out for nougat it will one day be dead. Might as well update and get used to not having xposed
I have Xposed installed in MM because I prefer to keep Android 6 + Xposed than Android 7 alone.
By the way, I meet an issue, I don't know if it was already solved in the past, but many apps can't start due to Google play services missing. So I have installed Google play service and authorized the permissions without success.
Do you have an idea why ?
Thank you very much.
Nope. Rovio89 has no time to work on Xposed, meaning Xposed is pretty much dead.
I've upgraded my Nexus and Pixel devices to Nougat and have not missed it one bit.

It's why Xposed is pretty much dead. Nougat has been out for 8 months now. Don't count on it.
I know Rovo no have time for xposed, so why no upload source code. XDA have great dev, like Wanam, Topjohnwu, Arter, Chainfire itd itd... I know on 100% if them have sources, xposed on 7 be 6 month ago.
Yes, sadly. Because of this one app refusing to work with root, so i have to use rootcloak.

Yep, and I'm missing Xposed on my tab s3 with nougat... :crying:
No way I can live without Xposed. No nougat for me till then.
Xposed has so many neat modules. Nougat isn't worth it if taht means leaving Xposed.
Staying on MM does not mean that I'm on a outdated system.
Instead of asking the device manufacturer to make the device secure, I'd love to control my security and privacy. With MM, I still got a good performance, battery life and still able to make a call or send an email or message .
I'd be on MM as long as I don't see anything that can replace xposed and until I buy a device that cannot be downgraded to MM.

Serious issue with all santoni custom roms: Android Auto doesn't work

Guys, you really can't imagine how much I'm nervous and frustrated. I tried almost all custom roms in last two months, but Android Car only works on stock MIUI or custom MIUI eu rom. Every AOSP rom has this issue.
Step to reproduce:
- Install Android Auto
- Grant permissions
- When the app will ask for "draw/display over other apps" permission, grant it.
- Android Car can't detect the permission granted and will never start. It keeps asking for the same permission
Multiple reboots, multiple cache/data deletions, multiple clean flash for multiple different roms, but the issue is still here.
Please help, I need Android Auto but I deeply hate MIUI. I don't know what else I can try, it's sad and frustrating. Help.

Not only Android auto but also some other banking apps crash on custom roms. Magiskhide also not working for these.
What you can try make Android auto a system app and then give permission manually. See if works. Android auto supports very few countries so we can't test widely.

I tried with the system app stuff but it didn't work. I was having your exact issues but now banking, fingerprint and MagiskHide are perfectly working with latest official AEX Pie, currently the only issue is Android Auto.
I tried your idea with system app, and unforunatelly its not working.
What I've found out is that android auto works with nougat custom roms. this is a small workaround for me because I need Android Auto for car navigation very often.
Does anybody know if a fix for the problem is still in work? Or is AA not significatn enough and there might be no fix in the future?
Any news on this?
Works perfectly on Nougat, but anything newer I tried some time ago never worked. It's an absolutely critical feature, and I have no idea why more people aren't taking about it.
Do you know if it still doesn't work?

Sorry to ask, but... If you "deeply hate MIUI", why did you buy a Xiaomi phone ?
I mean, there are other good phones with equal ratio quality/price, you could have bought another kind of phone...
2 months have passed. Any news on this issue?
Same problem for me... Any news?
Same problem here. Tried Pixel Experience, Lineage OS, it never works if its not MIUI. Any News?
