Huawei Mate S Firmware(CRR-UL00, Android5.1, EMUI 3.1, C433B146, UAE)
as close to b146 as possible

Thanks but to change the location to C433 to C470 would defeat the object as the Marshmallow beta in this instance is for C433 only. I have run C470 and the raw C000 but happy with C433. I still hold a copy of C433B146.
Thanks but someone must have it or why would they set it as a base target ton upgrade from?

Mate s emui 5.0

Hi guys
Anyone know if mate S supported from Huawei to get emotion UI 5.0
Hi, I am very unsure they will give us emui 5, but I still have hope because this device is still available for purchase.
Sent from my HUAWEI CRR-L09 using Tapatalk
Well. Since the honor saga from Huawei, received even up to 3 Android updates (honor 6 came with 4.4, now it has 6.0) I think is perfectly possible to get EMUI 5 with nougat.
The question is when? Well, of course after the release of mate 9,they'll update the Mate 8 probably, at the same time, the honor 8,one that has available a beta program to try emui 5. So, After those devices, the turn will come to honor 7 and probably, our Mate S.
i dont think that mate s will get nougat.
due to feature requisition.
Vulkan API (a must for android7) needs OpenGL 4.x and OpenGL ES 3.1. the chipset of mate s is not compatible.
i hope for emui 5 without nougat
But that doesn't make sense at all since the Nexus 6P also lacks of 4.X(it uses 3.1) and it's running nougat.
Hope same happens here>~<
Good news people:laugh:
:good:
nice news......but did you check the release date?....Vulkan issue poped-up in early September and I would expect this article has been issued earlier, as the 2 years update guarantee has been communicated earlier this year.
unfortunately!!

In my view these are all speculations. We all knew from the beginning that mate 8 and P9 will take nougat. What was was not known was the date. I am not claiming that mate S will take nougat, but that announcement does not mean that it won't.
My main concern is that it has been a long time since the last update for mate S. Not even a security update. On the contrary, P8 gets updates. Also, Huawei has not released any new model for the S series. These are the bad signals for me that we probably won't take Nougat, not the announcements that mate 8 and P9 will get Nougat. But let's wait for a official announcement for huawei because it would be striking for huawei to give nougat only in two models.

Huawei Mate S 6.0 update with EMUI 5.0
So they are beta testing this device for 2017 N update with EMUI 5.0 .
There is a hope. I bought this device like month ago.
What do you mean? @mustafaevery1?
Dear Customer,
Thank you or contacting the Huawei Customer Care Team.
Regarding your query, unfortunately the Mate S has not been announced to receive the update to Nougat and EMUI 5.0 at the moment, but after the Beta tests will be over and the update will be sent to the scheduled devices, if the customer feedback is positive and the device features will support the update after future tests, we will send the update to the Mate S too and other devices.
If you have any further questions please feel free to contact us.
I hope this proves to be useful and I wish you a great day!

Huawei announces Nougat update plans

Huawei has announced Nougat update plans for its smartphones. The Android 7 update for Huawei devices will arrive in the form of version 5.0 of the Chinese company's EMUI skin. The roll-out will begin sometime in Q1, 2017, with the Huawei Mate 8 and P9 getting the update first, followed by the P9 Plus, P9 lite, nova, and nova Plus.
The new EMUI 5.0, Huawei claims, is more efficient, secure, and user friendly. It "significantly cuts down on the number of steps needed to achieve the desired function," the company says in a press release, adding that "furthermore, the user can reach 90% of the core functions in just two to three clicks."
The new UI also lets users choose between the standard layout and an app drawer. "Additionally, users can jump between their professional and personal lives effortlessly with profiles now being able to run in parallel – no switching of phones necessary."
Coming back to the update, those rocking a Huawei P9, P9 Plus, P9 Lite or Mate 8 will be able to participate in the beta testing as well.

Or has there been an update that fixes that already?
Data fixed in B329 (i create a post)
Can anyone tell me where I can get the nougat beta for the p9 lite? I can't find it anywhere. Or is there no beta for european phones yet?

How stable is the beta? I'd love trying Nougat, but not if it ducks everything up. (That wasn't a typo, I'm just hilarious.)

I think TWRP only needs an unlocked bootloader and adb - not root, since you can unroot a rooted device and keep your custom recovery

Update Android 8.0 (Oreo)

Hello,
Just one basic question, you know if Huawei P9 get Android 8.0 update ?
Thanks.
Nope. P8 doesn't get 7.0, so P9 will not get 8.0.
Sent from my EVA-L09 using Tapatalk
The politic of Huawei for update can be changed for this year, no ?
But basic support is normally for two-year and p9 have just one year now and 1,5 years on first release Android O.
Sorry if my English is bad, I just learn by 3 months.

What is that for an **** answer? The P8 dont get Android 7, cause the CPU and GPU dont support the new required Vulkan Graphics etc. In Android 8 are no new technical requirements. So the Chance is very high to get Android Oreo
At least, Huawei had released the kernel sources so we can build oreo for ourselves!
By the time we get Android 8.0 the Huawei P12 is released...
Not holding my breath.... But if they screw me on it , regardless how well they worked so far I'm not buying another... So far I only bought flagships....
This is why everyone should blast them on Facebook/Twitter/Email with "Update P9 to Oreo!" so they don't left us without update!
I found video about Huawei phones which will get Oreo update, P9 included.
Hoax warning, I didn't find any source where the user got the information. No mentions in video's description nor in blog.

Fixed that for you.
OP, the answer is - never.
I still don't even have Nougat for my EVA-L29C636 and it doesn't look to likely so I think i can forget about Oreo
I think it will get Android O.

The P9 will get android 8.0. It has been confirmed on a number of sites like gadgetraid.com. It is a relatively new phone so it makes sense for it to recieve it.
I don't believe right now that we will get the 8.0.
P9 still in 7.0 and there are phones already on 7.1.2
P9 on Nougat? Nope. Not all p9's have received the update yet...
Not even all P9 cust/regions received updates to 7.0.
Goggle has released 7.1 a year ago, bit there is still no EMUI build with 7.1, only 7.0.
IMO, P9 will never receive 8.0, I'm not even sure if we would ever receive stock 7.1
It is quite common for OEM's to skip incremental builds like 7.1 - what they do is work the security patches etc into our 7.0 builds - so this is in no way an indicator of whether or not we will see 8.0.
At the moment several websites including some very reliable ones have published a large list of Huawei devices that are apparently getting 8.0 and the P9 is on that list, as are equally as old devices like the Honor 6X.
Today I read about this, (it has a link to the beta app that some of us used in the past) and the article states that the beta project has started, It's just a matter of few of us to find out If this is true (by Installing the app and checking avail projects) and which regions are eligible to the beta project (again IF this is all true).

Thanks for the link---just tried to install the Beta app on my P9 (eva-L29C636B191) but the install failed. This could (and probably is) be due to the fact that I am not on Nougat, however. Nougat just will not work on my device. I can install B361 but Nougat will not allow me to scroll anywhere on my device.

p9 plus as a replacement - basic questions maybe faq

just got my hands on a good used p9 plus as a replacement for broken moto lux.
i am impressed by the build quality and the refreshing miui ui on the first look.
dont know so much about the phone, tried to look up information but still a little bit confused.
Still on march security patch after two ota updates.
Got the VIE-L09C432B370 version.
Which part of the build number is the one I can use to look up more information? Cant find any faq.
Any way to update to an actual security patch?
Is there a gcam modded apk for the exynos?
Is magisk officially supported?
If not, what the best way to root?
Is miui in some way customizable? Always had pure android or custom aosp roms.
Thanks for your help!
Ok, so:
1- VIE means vienna, phone's codename. L09 is the variant, it means single sim. CXXX is the region/brand, in your case C432 means europe no brand. B370 in the firmware version.
2- there should be out there an ota out there with November patch, if you can't find it or if you want to update faster look for firmware finder: you'll find a lot of guides on the internet.
3- the CPU is not an exyons, is a kirin, and no there's gcam apk, but the official software is pretty good expecially when it comes to full manual controls.
4- iirc, no
5- install twrp and flash supersu zip, you can find a guide here on xda
6- actually the UI name is EMUI, miui is xiaomi's rom name. There are some themes out there, check the emui themes community on G+, you'll find something more interesting than what you find on the theme app.
