The 'pauses' with Lenovo K3 Note - K3 Note Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Had this phone a few months.. Quite a lot to like, nice size, screen, etc.. The camera isnt the hottest, had some focusing issues but nothing I cant live with for now.
But the pauses are really too much to bear, its the first time I have had a non Nexus phone since the N1 and kind of regretting it.
Currently using the ROW Rom with google now launcher.. Was using Apex launcher but that seemed even worse. Do any of the other ROMs (I see a 'stock like' nexus ROM out there) work smoother ??
Any tips or ticks.. Sometimes when waking the phone up theres a huge lag, so much so it becomes unuseable for a bunch of seconds as it starts app switching or adjusting app focus.
The specs say it should be able to keep up, it feels like a implementation or memory design flaw..

So no ones got any ideas...
Do others have the same multi second hangs and pauses ??

[Q] Is the Diamond supposed to be so sluggish? (WM & Android)

I have tried several different ROMs, some better than others, but none is truly 'fast' or feels fast enough for daily use. Flicking through tabs can sometime take a considerable time (up to a second on ocassion) to register, and the movement through tabs (using Sense) is never truly 'smooth'.
Moving on, I tried Android 2.2 (v1.6) and the phone is much worse. Android feels like an alpha at this point, and the phone takes several moments to respond, flicking through pages is abysmal and checking through settings and programs is very slow too. And that is with SETCPU set to max speed and performance. Installing LauncherPro seems to help the phone get slightly faster, but never truly up to par with other Android phones that run on the same CPU and Memory combination.
In general, I never was able to get my Diamond to work the way I thought it should. It has always been slow to respond to my commands (whether tap) and I found the touch buttons and the wheel to be fairly inaccurate too (I would press right and instead it would register as the back key, etc).
What is my best option for a Sense ROM that feels actually fast? I do not care for eye candy that much (although the ability to add a black theme is an advantage), but I do care for speed, responsiveness and battery life (free memory is always nice, but a second priority).
Is XANDROID 2.2 still in development? Will it ever reach the point where the phone runs in comparative similarity to other Android phones with the same CPU?
I'm using the MEMO Rom now, it's good but not 'perfectly' smooth... It also uses CHT2 with extra quicklinks and stuff, so it doesn't always have enough RAM left at all times.
My best experience with a "lighter" rom was Revolution rom by Michael Banszel (from Poland I think), but it was end of 2009...
Here's the original thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=563245&highlight=revolution
There's a few other light sense-roms out there...
Well android want really designed for a native windows mobile device, so you can't expect it to work better than windows mobile.also I think android takes more resourcss up.

Played with Rev @ VZW today. Soo Slow

First thing I noticed is that the phone is sooooo slooooow. It was unbearable. I don't know if there was something wrong with the demo model, because they only had one, but it was almost unusable. Flipping between homescreens would often get stuck halfway for almost two seconds, then continue the flip. Flipping through the applications menu did the same. Occasionally it would launch the app I started the swipe on because it didn't register the swipe gesture.
I noticed the same thing about the Charge, but not the Thunderbolt. Maybe it's just software they have installed at the store?
Definitely something wrong with that demo model; homescreen lag is normal on the Charge, but I noticed the Revo was FAR smoother than the TB and Charge and the touchscreen was miles ahead of the other two in terms of responsiveness.
I have the Revo, and there is very little lag.. once and a blue moon i have it.. It is a great device. I am not a big fan of the home, so i am using adw ex and this phone is GREAT!
My Rev lags when I end a phone call. It takes about 5 seconds to exit the dialer. This phone also has issues with the Real Player App. It won't let you stream online videos while using Real Player. It has an error message that says null.
It also seems to take forever to charge. When I had the Thunderbolt, it seemed to recharge 4x as fast. I know the Thunderbolt had horrible battery life, but that was pretty much solved with a custom rom.
The 2 best things I found about this phone are Netflix and the HDMI mirroring. But without any custom roms, I regret my decision to trade in the Thunderbolt within 14 days and get the LG Revolution.
I agree a problem with demo model. I am looking to buy it soon. I have been in two verizon stores a few times to play with this phone and the competition (tb, charge). I've tried every function I can and I do see any problems yet. Homescreen, apps drawer, and swype was no lag at all.
sadly, the demo model at my local vzw was also not a good representation of the phone. it had serious touch responsiveness issues. almost swayed me to get the charge. i ended up buying the phone because the majority of reviewers from androidforums didn't have the same issue. i do experience slight lag sometimes when drawing my unlock pattern after not using the phone for awhile, but other than that little hiccup, couldn't be happier.
just got a revolution for the wife, i see no problems with any lag so far
Definitely sounds like a unique case, the Revo that I played with in the VZW store was way snappier than my charge, which has tempted me to possibly switch. Trying to figure out whether I should hold out as dev support is picking up on the Charge(to make it function quicker) or just switch to the LG.
I had two different Charges in two weeks - and now have the Rev. the Rev has better touchscreen, as others have said, and I don't see any lag at all. The interface on the Rev is so, so, so, much better than the Charge. For once, I, personally, am not overly tempted to use a different launcher. I like the widgets the few custom widgets they have, though I can't wait to de-Bing it.
I def like my revo now bing has been booted and crapware gone the ui is kinda growing on me

[Q] Two notes - one smooth , one laggy is this possible

I purchased a note from amazon last week . when the phone arrived the screen had the banding issue so I re ordered a replacement
The smoothness of the banded phone was really good - yes the home screens lagged a little however the new phone which arrived today has a real lag .. it doesnt seem fluid when moving between home screens , the apps tray does seem smooth ..... i have HD widgets on my home screen, my email app and message app widgets and couple of contacts on direct dial
It just doesnt seem fluid as it should be with a dual core 1.4 .....
Is it possible for the processor to be faulty or am I worrying about something which will be changed on ICS .... I know I am looking hard for faults as I want the perfect handset at the price ive paid ...
The screen on this one is perfect as far as I can tell (ive decided some apps have the banding not the screen) I have decided its perfect because a HD film is out of this world .
What do you think .. if im happy with the screen and everything else .. is the lag something which will go over time with firmware update
Thanks in advance
HD widgets make the screen transition laggy(only on that page).. just try removing it./..
I'd say its fully possible with faulty hardware similair to pc with fault ram. Me and My friend have the same issue, my note is fully tweaked and he is on stock rom NO tweaks. He never experiences the 1-3 lag that i've described in my topic so yes I think there are faulty units, since In my case even when reverting to stock the 1-3sec lag is there, yawn!
Were they both running the same firmware?
Did you upgrade your Firmware OTA (Settings -> Phone Info -> Software Update)? If no, do so. The current firmware is WAY more responsive.
Its probably possible everyone goes on about lag here but mine is smooth always, the only time it lags is when I first get on the homescreen after boot up after a couple of seconds though the lag disappears.
There are a lot of lag complaints on the note, Im yet to actually see one though so Im guessing it could be a defective part.. why not try to hardreset the phone and see from there?

Is anyone else having any lag with their turbo or problems with chrome?

When swiping through the home screens, sometimes it will get stuck and I will need to lock screen and unlock again for it to work. Also when on chrome say typing a message on a forum or online elsewhere, all a sudden it will stop typing and I will need to zoom out then my text all pops up again in the message box. Anyone else experience this and know a fix to it?
Yeah, I'm having a good bit of lag especially in chrome and the Xda app. It seems to take a couple of seconds for things to catch up when scrolling around fast. I've also noticed that text looks warped a lot of the time when scrolling around. It looks like it takes a second for them to catch up with the screen or something.
I think I only have lag when using hangouts...
Hangouts lag is really bad. Thing is, I grabbed a Note 4 (that I took back) before buying this and hangouts was really laggy on that too. Though, in hindsight, everyone on the Note 4 was laggy which is ridiculous. Samsung can't figure out why they are losing business... release a ridiculously powerful phone and f*** the framework up so bad that it lags to hell... anyway, I digress.
So, beyond hangouts there is definitely some lag on this phone but that isn't the biggest concern with it. I'll open another thread so as not to usurp yours.
Now that its mentioned i do notice a slight lag in hangouts but not enough that it caught my attention the first time around. I do get a stutter when swiping over to Google Now using the now launcher. no real stutter when swiping back home or between apps in the drawer but almost always when swiping into the cards from the home screen.

Stuttering and lag

Has anyone else experienced slight stuttering and lag with their P10. It is especially noticeable when scrolling the home screen or in the menu? It doesn't happen all the time but it is quite frequent and very noticeable.
It's not bad but it is annoying considering the price and the fact that the P10 is supposed to be a high-end, high performance (flagship?) device.
Not sure if it has any effect on performance but I have the app drawer enabled because I don't like having my home screen cluttered with icons.
Absolutely the same thing. It happens randomly, especially when I unlock the phone and open a folder, or scroll the home screens. ai dunno if there's any fix or possible cause of it though.
What is your firmware?
Noticed it initially on B100, but not happening on B151
Ma dio cane!!!!!!!!
You can make it work as it should, but you will need time... Version B217 from Kamgvip works pretty good. But you will need to take the time to rebrand it to Vtr-al00 and later remove all the chinese bloat with titanium backup or similar software... I am enjoying a good ROM with great performance and battery juice, but took me a couple of days to reach the point.
Oreo probably will improve the stock experience, but still doesn't meet my minimum standards (viper4android and minimal stable experience)...

I remember being abroad on vacation with activated "Power saving mode". When doing a lot at once like open Gmaps (and it starts to zoom to your location(, I had this slight stuttering like you describe it.
p10 **** phone will never again buy huwaei phone so many issues now with them.
No stuttering on stock rom just now running 8.0.0.379(C02)
Using the HyperPlus-RadioActive_Smoothie-VKY Kernel
