Do you know that TWRP now resizes images automatically therefore negating the need for multiple resolution themes.

I don't mind the bad language, I've had a guy with worse English on my team, so I understand. About the text, yes it will get a bit stretched and will not look very nice. So what you can do is maintain three or four resolutions only, like highest, lowest and two which are somewhat in between. This should reduce the effort required.

Dont quote the OP please

Looks great. Can you create some simple, minimalist splash screens that replaces the not so attractive one in 3.0? Some that mimic your team win recovery project header in your theme and that match the theme color schemes? I would prefer that you just add it to the zip! See attached.

Have you ever been to @z31s1g's theme thread?? He clearly told that the splash is now XML controlled, and therefore one static image should be tough to use as a splash.

Yes and that is why I am recommended that the developer who created this work up something. I just used that singular static image as my preference for simplistic and attractive design. I know that the particular file that i attached would not work. Just an example of minimalist design.

@andii_nr
Hey, you forgot to change the theme version in the "dark - light - play" themes, look into ui xml, it's written 287x_v2, i changed it in my themes, it's not really important but I say you. If you want, i fixed it in the zips below, you can take them if you want to update them.

Preparing package: Either you download archive from 2nd post and use it as reference, or you can find other themes across different theme section. Though themes are installed at same supported locations, every themer has their own way of packing resources in archive and copying them on device using script. File copy operation is controled by updater-script under META-INF/com/google/android folder.

[Announcement]: After seeing themes made by apaquette420 (here), I decided to stop working on my themes. They really look nice and far far better in comparison of mines. They are so good that I stopped using mine .
I created some themes to work on 4EXTRecovery and hope some of you will like them. Installation is done on system partition only and this makes sure your existing settings on sdcard is not touched. After flashing uninstaller, your recovery theme will revert back to default. Installing theme will cause only change in base background at the moment. I am planning to add images to support error, usb toggle, installation, etc... screens (depending on users response). Out of all Htc_Qb is my favorite at the moment. I found 4EXTRecovery which is based on source code of CWM, has all the features that were missing in default CWM.
A big thanks to madmaxx82 to bring such fantastic recovery for us.
Note: Added full completed themes for 4EXT recovery 2.1.2 on 2nd page.

Ok I will make it little more highlighted.
People who don't like shadowed brown color but want to use related images, extract and copy attached file to /sdcard/4ext folder. This has default color combination as in 2.1.0-RC1 recovery.
Hi!
Big thanks for all the themes and your hard work, have to try all of them
But could I ask you a favour?
At the moment it deletes all the settings the user might have defined in his 4ext.prop. And there are more settings to come (also some you will be able to change from inside of 4EXT)
It's possible to create flashable themes leaving all user defined settings intact. Think of it like an overlay for some areas in 4ext.prop.
If you would change it the way I wanted this to work, then the uninstaller I link to in my sig + 1st post, would return 4ext to the exact settings the user might have had defined before he flashed a theme (not just the default settings you get when you first install it)
Whiskey103 did it that way.
Otherwise this isn't very convenient for people who already have their own settings.
To do that:
simply install your 4ext folder in the zip file into /system/4ext/ instead of /sdcard/4ext.
And modify the path used for icons in your 4ext.prop from your theme.zip to point to /system/4ext/icons (instead of /sdcard/4ext/icons) and remove all lines after that one (so it contains only theming relevant settings).
I have attached the modified 3dcube theme for you to see if you want to check what I mean.
That would be great
AWESOME JOB!!!

- 7 empty user folders in ui.zip/themes/ where you can place your own mods and mixes
- chmod 644 button for file manager
thanks to @z31s1g for his great TWRP 2.x theme
had a peek into your files to learn about extra functions...
credits for the amazing auto generated backup name feature are to you !!!
also your work gave me the idea to add a change theme feature in the first place.
:good:
How to install the theme:
- do not use these themes on TWRP 2.8.x, so make sure you´re running TWRP 3.0.0.x or greater!
- choose your version and flash the zip file in recovery
- hit home button - advanced - reload theme
- head to advanced - theme options - change theme and choose your favorite color
Versions:
- v4 is compatible with twrp 3.5.x (themeversion 4)
- v3 and up should work on portrait and landscape devices
- standard seems to work on most devices but not on all using /sdcard/ as path for internal storage
- marshmallow version should work on all devices running marshmallow using /data/media/0/ as path
- @G.M.L made a version for devices using /emmc/ as path for internal storage --> here
flash at your own risk. always have a backup before flashing stuff...
i am not responsible if anything goes wrong.

old versions:
how to change TWRP splash screen
As every device has its own TWRP.img which cant be used on another device,
you´ll need to download the lastest TWRP.img for your device (the one you actually have flashed on your device )
now the .img file has to be extraced... there´s a great tool for that task named Android Image Kitchen
so hit the link above and download the version of your choice in the attachment of the first post.
personally i used v2.4 for windows while writing this...
extract Android Image Kitchen to your desktop and copy your TWRP.img into that folder
open the Android Image Kitchen folder in your explorer and drag the TWRP.img file into the unpackimg.bat with your mouse
ignore the split_img folder that was created in that process and open the ramdisk folder
inside the ramdisk folder enter the twres folder
the stock splash screen uses to .png files from the images folder inside that twres folder:
- splashlogo.png
- splashteamwin.png
those files already exist in the theme.zip in a matching version for each color and you can just copy them
to your Android Image Kitchen\ramdisk\twres\images folder replacing the existing ones
or edit them to your likings in gimp or whatever you wanna use and save them (needs to be saved as .png file!)
if you want to use a custom fullscreen splashscreen use the splash.xml from the attachment (unzip to twres folder)
and place a 1080x1920 (or 1920x1200 for landscape) .png file into images folder and name it splash.png
additionally you can edit the splash.xml inside the twres folder where the background of the splash screen is controlled
the lines you need to edit are line 20 - 22
Code:
<variable name="background_color" value="#222222"/>
<variable name="header_color" value="#555555"/>
<variable name="accent_color" value="#0090CA"/>
first is the main background, second the header color and last should be the color for TWRP version on the bottom
the color needs to be in hex format
after you´re done save the xml file and close it
head back to the Android Image Kitchen folder and double click on the repackimg.bat file
this will create a image-new.img in that folder which is your modified TWRP.img
now you can flash that img file same way you´d flash a stock TWRP.img
.
On M9 you have to put ui.zip in TWRP/theme folder in INTERNAL storage for it to work.
Thanks @fichl looks great

[THEME][TWRP] MultiROM TWRP 3.0.0 - 3.0.2 Themes

These themes are compatible with MultiROM-TWRP versions 3.0.0 - 3.0.2 in portrait mode only. MultiROM-TWRP 3.0.0 is the latest version available for my 2012 Nexus 7, which is my test device, but these themes also work with versions 3.0.1 and 3.0.2. They are 1080 x 1920 resolution, and TWRP will scale the themes to other resolutions. Some people (including myself) don't like busy wallpapers, so I have also made available no-wallpaper versions with a black background.
The first theme available is 3D Blues. Now, I have created the XDA Labs theme! Do you like G.M.L.'s XDA Labs theme for regular TWRP? If so, then try this one if you are running MultiROM TWRP! (See screenshots and download links below.)
]I have added a new theme - HoloLight for MultiROM TWRP. Actually, this is a modification of my previous HoloLight theme for TWRP 3.0.x. See below for screenshots and download link.
3d Blues update:
13 October 2016:
Fixed missing backup button, but the option to show auto-generated backup name is gone.
Reversed navbar layout option is added in.
I added "Reboot after installation is complete" to General Settings & Install Zip page.
Other minor mods and fixes that somewhat reduced the file size.
The theme has been bumped to version 1.1.0.
Credits:
The original authors of the xml code are Teamwin and z31s1g.
The chmod 644 function code is by fichl, and used by permission.
Most of the graphics in the 3D Blues theme were created by Dustin B (from his Cobalt Lollipop theme), and used by permission.
In the XDA Labs theme, some graphics were created by G.M.L. and used with permission. I created the main buttons and made all mods to the xml code in both themes.
DOWNLOAD THE THEME OF YOUR CHOICE (OR ALL) AND FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS:
1. The theme can be on an external sdcard or the internal sdcard.
2. In TWRP, select "Install".
3. Go to the folder containing the theme and select it.
4. Swipe to confirm Flash and TWRP will restart with the new theme. (TWRP will create the "theme" folder if needed.)
5. ENJOY!
If you only have MR-TWRP 3.0.0 (like I do), you will need to copy the theme to the /sdcard/TWRP/theme/ folder and rename it to ui.zip. Then reload the theme and enjoy!
You use these themes at your own risk - there is no guarantee. Neither I nor the staff of XDA will be held responsible if you brick your phone or tablet, or if these themes eat your cat.
Post here and let me know how they work on your device!

Looks and works fine on LG G3 twrp multirom 3.0.2-0. Only one thing missing for me is the option to reverse navbar key layout.
Unlike some of the other multirom themes there is no issue reading text.

Early in development, I removed the reverse-navbar code from the theme. I don't remember why, but I'll put it back in. I've got a busy weekend coming up, so give me a couple of days. (i'll try to put it back in tonight.)
I saw the attached screenshot - the backup button is missing! Do you not have the ability to do nandroid backups?

I double checked and with that theme backup is missing in main menu and in multirom menu. As far as the update for navbar fix take your time I am not in recovery enough for it to be a big issue.

Backup button missing is really strange... It's not missing when installed on my Nexus 7 and I can test most of the theme on my Galaxy S3 (except MultiROM functions.) Backup is not missing from main menu on the S3 either. I've checked file totals on both zip files - here and online and they are the same.
The navbar fix is already done. I'm working on other small issues in the theme though...

Working perfectly with Moto G XT1033 and Nexus 6 Shamu(only backup button missing)... Thank you very very much for this theme...expecting more and more and more... Complete black Version a request if possible ... Thanks once again. .

I'm going to look into this missing Backup button issue. (See the post above yours if you haven't already.) I'll let you know something in a few days.
What do you mean by a "complete black version"? Buttons and background all black with white text? (A few buttons don't have text.) Or everything black? Then you wouldn't be able to see anything!

Yes right and that's because TWRP changed the theme version from version 2 to version 3 so I make this for the people with 3.1.1.1 recovery edition

[Tutorial] MiXplorer – Themes & Skins – How to make them?

This is a Tutorial for you to make your own themes and skins for MiXplorer. You can either start from scratch, or take an existing theme and change the resources used by replacing them with the ones you like. This is a very simple process and anyone can do it. You DON'T have to be a programmer or software developer.
CREDITS & ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
To begin with, a big shout out to @HootanParsa for an excellent File Explorer for Android, that is FREE on XDA, free of ads (and probably analytics & trackers too), extremely functional, fully customizable, and a very beautiful UI. @HootanParsa if you like this tutorial, please feel free to include it in the XDA thread for MiXplorer as well as in your Website for maximum reach.
Credits to all Theme & Skins developers, with special mention to:
1. @marciozomb13 : Because it is from his threads linked below that I came to know that anyone can customize themes and skins for MiXplorer:
Material
Fluent
My theme used for illustration in this post is just a small modification of his Fluent theme linked above.
2. @FatalBulletHit : For preparing an excellent illustration showing what each setting does. Check them out HERE.
3. @IronTechmonkey : For a full in-depth User Manual on MiXplorer and explanation of Themes and Skins.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THEMES & SKINS
Customising the UI is essentially modifying 3 things:
1. Changing the colours (of background, text, etc.) - Use a Skin or modify from within MiXplorer Settings.
2. Changing the fonts - modify from within MiXplorer Settings or modify the theme.
3. Changing the icons (of folders, preview icons, etc.) and buttons - Modify the Theme.
THEMES: This allows you to tweak several aspects of the UI like icons, buttons, fonts, etc. It requires you to download or create several resource files that make up the theme.
SKINS: This allows you to only tweak the colours of a few elements and the fonts from within MiXplorer Settings.
The best part, however, is just anyone can create a custom theme or a custom skin based on his requirements by modifying an existing theme (like I did).
STEPS TO APPLY THE THEME & SKIN
You can either use any of my themes or any of the existing themes from HERE or HERE.
THEME
1. Download the attached .mit theme.
2. Open MiXplorer and browse to this downloaded .mit file and click on it. From the popup, choose Import. The theme would take about 3 seconds to apply.
SKIN
1. Download the attached .mic file.
2. Open MiXplorer and browse to this downloaded .mic file and click on it. From the popup, choose Import. The skin would be instantly applied.

THEMES
T1. Download an existing theme that fits your requirements the most. If it is in the .bin/ .mit or other formats, simply rename the file extension to .zip.
T2. Open the .zip file using MiXplorer or any unarchiver.
T3. ICONS: Look for a folder called ‘drawable’. This folder contains the resources for UI like icons, buttons, etc. You can replace these images with images of your choice, provided they satisfy the pixel size. For example, the only file I changed in this folder is ‘folder.png’ and I used a 128x128 pixel file downloaded from the internet. It is better not to delete the original files while replacing. Just rename them so they are available for use in future when needed. Bear in mind the following:
The new file should have the same name as the file that it replaces.
The new file should have the same extension as the file that it replaces. For icon pictures, this is usually PNG.
It is advisable to use a file that is very small in size (under 50 KB) or similar in size to the one that it replaces. A 128x128 or smaller pixel file for icons usually works well. If the file size used for icons is too big (over 100 KB), you may have lags and rendering issues inside MiXplorer.
In my case, I renamed the original folder icon (which was named folder.png) to ‘folder original.png’, and the new file I downloaded as ‘folder.png’. Likewise, you can replace any other resource file you want that fits your UI requirements the best.
T4. FONTS - Font file must be in .ttf format. Formats like .otf and others may or may not be supported.
Easy method:
1. Download the font you want and copy the full path of the font file. In MiXplorer, select the font file, go to Properties and click on the Path. This will automatically copy the path to your Clipboard.2. Under Skin Settings, scroll to the bottom of the list and you will see the fonts section. Paste the path of the fonts file in that section.

Advanced Method:
1. Download the font you want.2. Look for a folder called 'fonts' in the root of the zip file.
3. Copy the font file into this folder.4. Open the 'properties' xml file in the root of the zip using a text editor.5. Scroll to the bottom of the file where you have the font section.
6. Simply replace the font file name there with the name of the downloaded file, without modifying any other information. Some themes use multiple fonts for different UI elements. If you want to change all of them, all you have to do is to rename the font file name mentioned there with the name of your file.7. Save the file and close the editor.
Under either method, MiXplorer will prioritise the fonts to be used in this order:
1. Font used in Skin Settings
2. Font included in the Theme
3. System Font
If you enter the font filename or path incorrectly in Settings, MiXplorer will first look for the fonts included in the theme, and if that is not available (because the font file(s) was moved or deleted), it will use the System font.
T5. Rename the parent folder extension back to .mit.
T6. Open MiXplorer, browse to the location of the above file, click on it & Import.
SKINS
Go to Settings/ Skins and press the Edit icon next to the skin that is applied, and choose 'Edit’ again. You will be presented with a huge list of customizable UI elements. Feel free to tweak any as per your liking so you get the look that you are happy with. There are too many elements that can be customised, so I will explain just the main ones (that I have tweaked) to give you an idea (see attached pics) about what will change:
1. BG_BAR_ACTION
2. BG_BAR_MAIN
3. BG_BAR_TAB
4. BG_BAR_TOOLS
5. HIGHLIGHT_GRID_ITEM
6. TINT_NAVIGATION_BAR
7. TINT_STATUS_BAR
Some additional info (no picture reference):
8. BG_PAGE: This will change the background colour of the main page.
9. TINT_POPUP_BG: This will change the background of the Sidebar and all popup menus.
Once you are done, press Save.
That’s it. You now have a new theme and skin of your liking.
For detailed understanding of all settings, check these out:

Link to my Themes and Skins: SA Creations
If the files above download as zip, simply rename the file extension to .mit (for the Theme) and .mic (for the Skin). Use any browser (instead of OneDrive app) to open the links and download the files.
Points to note:
1. Remove existing skin and theme before applying a new one. To do this, go to Settings/ Skin, click on 'Default' (1st item on the list). This will remove the currently applied Skin. Then go back to Settings/ Skin again and this time click on the pencil icon next to 'Default' and click 'Remove'. This will remove the currently applied Theme.
2. My themes REQUIRE the accompanying skin to get the intended result. So you have to import both before tweaking it any further to suit your taste.
I have used MiXplorer v6.49.3 from XDA. But the themes and skins work on all the current builds too.
You can find some fonts HERE.

Quick way, if you don't want to edit an existing theme, or create one yourself. I've been tinkering with the look of my MiXplorer for years and still haven't created my own theme; only tweaked others'.
3-dot—>Settings—>Skins—>Pencil—>Edit, Scroll to bottom.
..and, as @marciozomb13 added:
"You must enter the absolute path of the font, any otf or ttf font is supported afaik."
..Hopefully the screenshot helps. You may notice that the font files I added are on my SD Card.
