You will have to flash it but that doesnt mean it will work. Each rom is coded differently.

Well apperently, when i go to recovery, the shamupurenexus.jar doesn't even show in the flashables, ive moved it in the same folder as other flashables, but only the zip's are showing.

You will have to put it in a zip. Sorry thought that was common knowledge

possible to upgrade rom from phone using astro?

Just wondering f pi could download a Rom from your phone delete the old update with astro and then change The name of the Rom to update and wipe and flash. Would this work because it could be helpful when your on the road or vacation.

Yea, any file explorer could be used.
Rename the downloaded update to update.zip and reflash
You got it!

Or... flash the new cyanogen 1.4 recovery which can flash any zip (with proper ROM ofc). No need to rename any more.

oh yeah .. ^ better option ^
Yup, I did it the other day while at a coffeeshop. Downloaded a new rom and reflashed.
Although it would suck if something went wrong while you were out and about and needed to get to a PC to fix it.

As long as you keep a failsafe rom on your sdcard, you can fix pretty much anything from the recovery console.

[REQUEST] Mod - stock battery meter with percent

This was packaged with an early version of voodoo lag fix - and i believe it is part of SRE - not sure who the author is - DG maybe?
It is the stock blue battery meter with a number in the middle and about 25 increments instead of the stock 4.
This would be a great update.zip or apk.
Anyone know where to get this by itself?
just grab the framework-res.apk from /system/app from SRE and put it in the same place on your phone
Thanks!
For some reason i thought there was more to it then that.
update.zip
here you go- just tested on stock and it works fine. thanks for the idea, and credit to the original icon set creator
Thank you.
thanks for this!
can i see a screenie of it in action?

to install, copy the zip over to the root of your sdcard, reboot into recovery mode and select "reinstall packages"

I just tried that, no luck, would it be easier to just run it as the update.zip root method, then reinstall packages? Or maybe DroidExplorer was just being a POS again and didn't copy my files.
will this work on my I9000 Eclair rom??

I installed the framework-res.apk and it messed up my phone with JM8. I had to restore with clockwork.
EDIT: Tried using the update.zip file through recovery and gave me an error.

For some reason my sound isn't working after installing this. How do I uninstall this to check if it's my problem?

You just need to replace the new framework-res.apk with the original. If you did not back yours up, there is a stock one located here. You can use an update.zip if it is easier for you that way.

i think you'll have to take your own framework-res and modify it with the graphics and xml source files manually to get it working. they can be taken from the sre apk
can you get this to be the default green? or maybe like black with white lettering.
This is great. Worked perfectly and its clean looking! Gracias!!!

You can install through rom manager or through recovery.
how to: hit rom manager icon, thien hit install ROM from sd card, choose zip you want to install, make sure the wipe delvic cache is checked and hit ok.

Do it manually (look in dev section for the manual tool). Extract all files, rename file0.bin to file00.bin, file1 to file01,... Then merge the file (also in the thread of the tool), inject cwm with the command in the thread and flash it. That s it. Now go and search the thread in devsection. If you have any more questions, come back.

Yes type them into recovery. After you ve flashed, you ll be in cwm, then install superuser.zip, reboot phone, install TB, uninstall unwanted apps

You can install roms of P970, but you shouldnt, since your phone specs are different. So dont do it, or look in the korean forums, I am quite sure, you ll also find custom ROMs there.
You should be able to delete apps via TB now.
