Root? - Remix Mini General

Why are the tablet and remix os for pc allowed to root yet "it will ruin" the mini experience?

Jide is not backing up rooting for the tablet or mini cause its their hardware that is being used and they can't afford to fix bad rooting installs. Remix OS comes with a warning also but mostly Jide is just protecting themselves like most companies do.

But give an option to upgrade to rooted or non-rooted with warranty disclaimer. Bleeding edge technolgy with no root..

[Q] which OS is best for my samsug gaaxy s plus device

hi.
I have ICS vesion on my samsung galaxy s plus device.
Initially i had andriod 2.3 gingerbread version on this device but i fnd the same problem in both OSs.
my applications are getting too often slower ad unable to work.
It sometimes delays in even call receiving.
Guide me please which OS is most suitable fo m device.
OS is the wrong name for it. Basically they're two versions of the same OS and its not a question of which version you have, but which rom you use. In your case try and use a slim rom.

No, you can only use android. Try CM10.1, that is always good. I'm not sure about kernels though because I have a normal S1, not the plus version.
guide plz

Hi,
try Ivendors CM10 RC2.5 with the new CastagnaIT Kernel. Then you have about 380MB free Ram. My S+ runs with that combi really smooth.
The Battery drain is for me the same as with GB.

That's are great tutorial.. I like it.
I just can't get myself to root. Anyone else with me? Every phone I've had I never had to worry about losing my warranty, EVER.
Think they will ever come up with a way NOT to trip the knox?

I believe they did it for the Note 3, so why not the S5?
thinking I will hold off a bit to see if any non-knox roots come out... not sure if I can wait that long though... I love messing with my android phones
Unrooting the device though Odin works in restoring your warranty. Doing so make it as if it never was rooted.
atlast I have rooted it successfully
In iPhone, I failed to jailbreak first time, because I updated iOS version 6 to ios7 from my device software update. (OTA=Over the air). Not by iTunes.
But that time solved the problem, by Restoring my device via iTunes. And then able to jailbreak easily..
Now my Question:
Since Galaxy S5 came in version 4.4.2...
But after using 2 or 3 days, an update was installed in my SMG-900H.
Update file size was about 25-30mb.
But still version no is 4.4.2, no change is there..
So will it cause a problem (like- iphone) , if I try to Root my Galaxy S5 first time?

yes you can root, but can't do any more updates after rooting. if you want to update in the future, you would need to go back to stock causing you to lose root, update, and then, root again after the update.
Hi,
I want to root my S5 as soon as I get it (as with all my previous Galaxy devices)
But , the rooting procedure makes the device "custom" and then Allsharecast does not work as far as I know.
Is there a solution to this for S5 ?
On the S3 and Note 8 , I had a modified lib file (libWFD_Engine.so) which fixed the problem of being a custom device.

What would it take to dualboot OOS and Windows 10 Mobile?

Serious question.
Asking for a friend.
Or, OOS and a ROM like Remix OS.
Or, just Remix OS...
Please copy the link of the existing Windows 10 build for OP3T. Without that the question is not serious.

This says it well. Windows Mobile/Phone is a closed OS, and porting it to the 3T would be close to impossible. Technically anything is "possible". But faced with the huge amount of work (and probably legal issues) needed to port an OS that few folks even like or want, the feasibility is close to zero.

Hey mrmazak,
Thanks for your development and the support of this community with Dirtycow.
To clarify, are you seeing any exploits that could be leveraged in order to root and it will take more time for development, or is it just out of the question?
Thanks,

Blu has changed preloader since v6.6. no access to preloader from sptf, so no flashing, no root
Thanks mrmazak,
Anytime sooner will there be root ?
No, there will not be root. The security holes have been plugged. The tools used to modify the phones have been blocked.
If you installed a recent over-the-air update, you are out of luck - no recovery, no flashing, no rooting. Period. End of story. Done.
Never accept an over-the-air update for a phone that you want to root or modify.

Wow **** blu.
Guess I'll just return it, you know, cause **** sales too!
Sorry, I am new to rooting with many of my phones and I am getting very frustrated at how many developers patch the root. I used to think Android was friendlier for root than iOS is for jailbreaking, don't think so anymore.
Is there a root friendly list of phones new you have on this forum up-to-date?
Sort of hard to buy a phone requesting from the seller to have the "right version" on it. Ex.) blu phone prior to v6.6.
Thanks.

If you have custom recovery , then yes. The dirty cow part is only needed to allow bootloader unlock. So once it's unlocked and you have recovery , should be no problem to root
Trash talk lol, nothing is impossible just that you can't do it simple!.
