Question: With the glass back is a screen protector for the back needed now? - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Accessories

Coming from an S4 with the plastic back I just used a screen protector for the front side. Now with my new s7 edge and the all around gorilla glass, should I put a protector film on the backside? I will be using a spigen case as well. Thanks!

If you don't use a case it might be a good idea

Recommended Screen Protectors?

I've seen a lot of talk about cases but not much on screen protectors (aside from the tempered glass ones). On my OG Droid I used a Zagg Invisible Shield that worked well but had a bad orange peel look to it. My GF's iPhone has a "Power Support" screen protector on it which is crystal clear and works well.
What is everybody using? Are the tempered glass protectors where it's at now?
I always have used sgp spigen screen protectors, think they are the best ones.

I know it's kind of pricey, but Zagg InvisibleShield Symphony Dry is the best in my opinion! Covers the front and back it's honestly my fav.
The Best Period
I'm currently using the iloome flex glass protectors. It looks great and it is real glass and it's only $16.99, but it is worth it. Looks nice and feels good. Plus its thinner then the Spigen nano glass protector.

aren't the edges coming off ? iloome stopped sending it out for now
I'm not having any problems with the edges don't know how aggressive you have to be for the edge of the protector to peel

Privacy Screen Protector for my G2
Well I have this Privacy Screen Protector I purchased it from Fommy , and its working really very fine..no hard issues till now..so If someone looking for a privacy screen protector..can give a try to this one....its nice one to go for.....
Has anyone ever rocked their phone without a screen protector? if so, did you screen get scratched up? Reason I ask is my Diztronic case for my Verizon G2 is great but it pushed up my Verizon screen protector (dry one from the store, which was working great). Am I going to ruin my screen without a screen protector? Does anyone have a Diztronic case and a screen protector that works well with it?
I switched from my Ballistic case to the Tudia Melody, which I love, because the former was causing my Zagg Invisible Shield to pull up. But all my previous phones have been completely naked and never had any problems with scratches.

Does anyone have any issues with spigen and the proximity sensor like in this review? http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00E486GMU/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1382404949&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70

I've always gone back and forth using them or going naked about 50% of the time. Never scratched a screen till this one... one week into use there was a tiny one dead center. I think it was actually sorta caused by the flip case. Either the metal ring on it out something got sick between the flap and screen.

I saw some german ones that had holes for all the sensors, anyone has one of these?
I was thinking of invisible defender but not sure how the cutout is.

I ran my DNA completely naked. After a year it ended up having a few very fine scratches on the screen. Nothing horrible, but still there. I really like the feel of the bare glass, but may go back to a screen protector for my G2. I'm just not very good at installing them - maybe a glass one would be better... I don't know.

How much does it change the feel of the device? I love the idea of a non-plasticy protector.
just bought the Obliq pure oleophobic.
I'll post my thoughts on it as soon as it comes in

Looking closely at the edges of the screen protector on the phone, you will notice that the screen has about a 0.5mm radius all the way round it that is not sticking to the phone glass as a result of the glass curvature around all the phone screens edges.
I am having this same issue with my iloome flexible glass protector on my LG G2 as well sadly.
Without an external case that overlaps this edge I CANNOT recommend this glass screen protector as you run the fair risk of slicing yourself (i had to buy a gel case with overlap to mitigate this very real issue) or worse yet having a piece of glass screen protector break off in your skin because the glass screen protector is so thin and the edge is exposed around all the edges of the screen protector...

There is plenty of room around the bezel area for a case. This screen protector fits perfect.

Otterbox defender without screen protector? Anyone?

Hi,
I have the M8 with slickwraps and tempered glass protector, when i buy a otterbox defender is it ok to remove the screen protector from the otterbox? Does it also fit with the slickwraps on?
Where did you get tempered glass protector from ?
I did that with my defender. Just removed the cheap plastic screen protector and rocking it with my tempered glass one...Just clean off the residual adhesive that was used to hold the original plastic on there with some alcohol or something and you're good.:good:

Cool thanks
I have been wanting to put a tempered glass screen shield on my phone but have an otterbox defender with the screen shield removed . Always been concerned I wouldnt have enough room in the case to have one . What screen shield are you using right now 4.6 Love
I took it out of my Defender too. Don't like how sloppy and how much space there is under under the so called protector. Still haven't put a screen protector one yet though...
I'm going to get a skin similar to the slickwraps as well, so hope it fits too! I use the Otterbox at work and go with just the skin when I go out...
I have a nillkin screen protector and it doesn't fit with my defender. The corner of the glass gets pushed up and peeled off. The glass sits back down after the clips are undone.

Perhaps you could try sanding some plastic off the defender in that area if it's a very small point of contact that's getting in the way.

I had the same issue with my m7 and the otterbox defender. I popped the screen protender off the defender but when i put it on it peeled back my screen protector. I put a new screen protector on my phone then waited about 3 days then put the otterbox on and it didnt come off

I own iCarez tempered glass screen protector. I like the feeling of glass rather than plastic. Also, plastic attracts oil and scratches easier. The glass hardness is 9 on the hardness scale so it won't scratch easily. It adds .3 mm to the thickness of the device. The iCarez one I have is anti-oil so it doesn't attract oil. Plastic screen protectors (at least the cheap ones) have a rainbow effect at certain viewing angles.
Cons of tempered glass protectors:
-adds ~.3 mm to thickness of device
-more expensive than plastic ones
Highly recommend glass protectors, just make sure to apply it correctly for they usually only come in packs of 1
Glass all the way no bubbles and u can't even tell it's on your screen plus the bonus glass break protection that it offers.
Glass, glass glass! Never again will i use a plastic protector.
The 5 dollar glass covers on ebay work fine.
I recently got the spigen glas.tr for my S5 and couldn't be happier. Installation was much easier than plastic ones, and the glass is not even noticeable. Not to mention that it has an oleophobic coating. Zagg makes glass protectors but it looks like they're back ordered.

Just put a glass zag protector on my granddaughter's Ipad air, she dropped it not even 10 minutes later, not a mark, scratch, fracture or dimple on the screen. Of course the zag did it's job and shattered like the tech that installed said it would and it's covered under warranty they are sending me a new one free of charge.
So go with glass it's worth the money

Gotta love it ..i also dropped an older device on its face with glass installed and no harm done ....

I have used both (zag invisishield, ghost armor and armour suit) and no matter what the film will yellow and start to peel over time
I prefer glass I also think it feels a lot better and not so cheap like the film's do
Glass for me....always. ..g
I prefer glass because it doesn't "drag" as much as plastic film does... the glass protects the screen while still keeping it "smooth as glass"
Days after installing the glass it cracked. Small places. Then bigger cracks.
Now I don't know what to do about it! They actually installed at the ATT store.

most of the glass shields come with a lifetime warranty, you register your purchase on line then if it breaks they send you a replacement free of charge, the rep at ATT should have provided you with the information to register it online. if not you have your reciept i think you can go online and register it that way.

Thanx!
But I wonder why it broke with no impact. And I wonder HOW they will get the cracked one off.

Is the lip on a protective case a problem?
I had a plastic film screen protector on my s3. The lip of the rubber protective case pushed against it and caused it to peel up along the edges. Will the glass protectors do the same thing? Are any of the glass protectors slightly undersized to allow for the lip on a protective case?

Glass should not peel up. I use the ones from xtremeguard.com they do monthly coupons for 90% off. I bought 4 of them for 15 bucks, kept 1 for a spare and sold the other 2 for 20 bucks each. Here is this month's promo code.

Tempered Screen protector thats not 100% Edge to Edge?

Anybody knows of a good tempered screen protector for the S6 Edge that is not fully 100% Edge to Edge? One that covers the whole visible LCD but not all the way to the metal frame. My dilemma right now is that when I have an edge to edge tempered protector, with my case on, the edges of the protector lifts. And that's because the case keeps hitting the edge of the tempered protector. If screen protector was slightly short, then it wouldn't be a problem. I'm using regular non glass zagg right now but hate the fake looks it gives to the screen. Much prefer tempered glass. Thanks.
You could carefully sand down the edge of your glass protector. I had to do that in order to fit my aluminum bumper case.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G925A using XDA Premium HD app
Thanks, but not going that route. So funny, when I owned flat screen phones in past, it was very typical getting a screen protector that never was full Edge to Edge. Now that I'm actually looking for one that's not 100% Edge to Edge, it's hard to find one. Oh well, keeping this zagg HD for now. Thanks.

edge to edge tempered screen protector

I tried the Pleson protector, but there was a small gap around the edges of the protector (OCD).
Does another company make a nice tempered protector that covers the screen from edge to edge?

I would think all leave about a mm around the whole edge so that it'll be flush with cases and not peel off cause of them.
