Tronsmart 3 Port 42W Quick Charge 2.0 Wall Travel Charger
Overview
I have accumulated a lot of devices that for better or worse need to be charged during the day sometimes all at once. For this reason, I usually carry a small battery pack or multi-port wall charger, along with some cables, adapters, and various other things. Tronsmart made a nice compact wall charger that is ideal for people who travel or on the go. I usually have a mullti-port charger or two at home (Tronsmart Titan 90W 5 port hub on my desk), and another multi-port hub on my nightstand. I always need more ports for one reason or another hence why I like having the most compact, powerful chargers that I can.
What’s in the box
-Tri-port charger
-Documentation
-Micro USB cable
Build & Design
Tronsmart makes one of my favorite looking chargers out there. The edges have a glossy finish to them that leads you into matte colored body. On one side you will see Tronsmart’s logo along with a small LED light that will light up to indicate when you’re charging. If you look at the opposite side the rated inputs/outputs for each port are specified along with a label for which ports have VoltIQ, and QC 2.0. One of the best features of this charger besides its 3 ports is the folding plug which makes it ideal for traveling/on the go.
Charging
The Quick Charge 2.0 port will allow you to charge any compatible QC 2.0 enabled device at a range of voltages/rates depending on how low the battery is. I was able to charge my S7 Edge at 9V/1.67A just like the stock Samsung Adaptive Fast Charger does. Since the S7 Edge is only rated for 9V/1.67A (15.03W) it won’t charge at a faster rate than that no matter how powerful the charger. The other two ports use VoltIQ which is another way of saying it will tell the device to charge at it’s maximum 5V rate up to 2.4A. I tested this with my S7 Edge and was able to get ~5V/1.7A which is the same output as the factory charger at the battery level I tested. Since this charger is rated for 42W which means each port can output its maximum rate simultaneously for maximum charging efficiency with multiple devices.
Charging breakdown by port
QC 2.0: 5V/2A, 9V/2A, 12V/1.5A
2x Standard Port (with VoltIQ): 5V/2.4A each
Summary
This is yet another great charger from Tronsmart (I have a lot of others that were reviewed as well) that has a nice overall design. This charger has a lot to offer in a small package coupled with a solid build that should last for a long time.
Tronsmart 4 Port Quick Charge 2.0 54W Car Charger
Overview
There is always a time that I need to charge things as I mentioned above when outlets are limited. I have a dash camera in my car that occupies one of my power outlets, so I only have 1 other easily accessible place to plug in a charger. When I go on road trips it’s nice to be able to charge my phone as well as my wife’s along with a tablet or two thanks to the wide array of ports offered with this charger.

Build & Design
The charger is made from plastic, but it has a nice texture to it just like the tri-port wall charger. I’ve owned and used another Tronsmart car charger (Type-C/Type-A) since December without any issues. It has really come in handy over the past couple of months thanks to its versatility, just like this one will. While this charger is quite large it packs a punch with its 4 ports while still compact for what it offers. It’s not easy to fit a large number of ports in a charger that has to fit in a confined area, but I like the overall way Tronsmart designed this one. I had no issues fitting the charger in my car, and using all of the ports, but that depends on where your outlet is located.
Charging
I tested each of the ports simultaneously with 3 of my phones, and a battery pack to ensure the charger worked as intended. I had no issues charging all 4 devices from the charger making this ideal for anyone that needs to make use of their car charger.
Charging breakdown by port:
Ports 1,2,3: 5V/2.4A (Max)
Port 4 (QC 2.0) Quick charge 5V/2A, 9V/2A , 12V/1.5A (Max)
Summary
This large 4 port charger might not be for everyone, but if you need to power a large amount of devices simultaneously than it’s an ideal choice due to its large power output.
Tronsmart 36W Dual Port Quick Charge 2.0 Car Charger
Overview
This charger is a much more compact, but still versatile dual port QC 2.0 enabled (on both ports) car charger. The overall quality/materials remain the same as the previous 4 port car charger which is a good thing. I switched from my Type-C/Type-A 33W car charger to this one in order to see how it works, and because I can still charge both my S7 Edge and Nexus 6P from it. So far over the past couple days of using this one I haven’t encountered any issues, but I will update the OP if I do.
What’s in the box
-Tronsmart Dual Port 36W Car Charger
- 2x 3.3[ft] 20AWG micro USB cables
-Documentation
Build & Design
The ports are colored (green or blue usually indicate QC 2.0 on Tronsmart chargers) while the back ports are the standard VoltIQ. For this particular one, both ports are green which is indicative of a QC 2.0 charger. There is ample spacing between both ports to accommodate any size cable that I have including: Tronsmart, Choetech, Aukey, Samsung, Google, i-Orange, Asus, Anker and many others. I haven’t found a set of cables that won’t work side-by-side in this charger. Unlike other chargers, this one doesn’t sit flush with the outlet which to me is a good thing. I always find it hard to remove the chargers that don’t protrude slightly, so I appreciate that part of the design.
Charging
Each port is capable of a 18W output which is the maximum you will ever need on a QC 2.0 enabled device. The S7 Edge can only take 15.03W (9V/1.67A), so this charger will fast charge it at the same rate as the Samsung Adaptive Fast Charger. I tested both ports with my multi-meter to ensure they lived up to their ratings.
Charging breakdown by port:
5V/2A, 9V/2A , 12V/1.5A
Summary
I have no issues with the overall design or build of this car charger, plus with the added versatility of a second QC 2.0 port it has a lot to offer. Not all chargers offer their full power output while charging multiple devices, but thankfully this one does. I don’t see any reason not to recommend it because it’s been great.
Tronsmart Micro USB Cable 6 Pack (20AWG)
Overview
I always need more cables because for some reason I either misplace them, or forget to bring them with me. I like how Tronsmart offers a large pack of cables (6 in this set) in varying sizes depending on what you might need. I usually keep the shortest one (1[ft]) in my backpack to go along with an external battery pack I carry with me. The longer ones usually find their way onto my desk or night stand because it’s nice to have the extra length so I can keep all of my devices separate & not clustered together while charging.
What’s in the box
-1[ft] micro USB cable
-2x 3.3[ft] micro USB cables
-3x 6[ft] micro USB cables
Build & Design
These cables have a larger gauge wire (20AWG) which should decrease the resistance thus allowing for less current drop in the longer variants. The connectors work well with any of my 10+ S7E cases, and they are slightly smaller physically than the Samsung one. You won’t have any issues bending these like some higher gauge cables which makes wrapping them up for storage easy.
Charging
I tested each cable length via my multi-meter to see if there was any current/voltage drop while charging my phone. I did not see any measurable drop even for the longer 6[ft] cable, so you should be able to fast charge your phone with any of them without sacrificing cable length.
Summary
I’ve actually owned a pack of these for a while now before receiving this set, and I’ve enjoyed using them. I haven’t had any of them break, fail, or otherwise suffer from flaws during my 5 months using the previous set. I enjoy the large variety of sizes offered because it allows you use a cable that suits your needs rather than one that’s too long/short.

Nice chargers. Quick chargers are very convenient. But where are the product links?

They were omitted because XDA likes to close OP's and mark them as spam if you include the product links as I've found out.

A comprehensive review, the chargers' design are nice, I like the round edges and corners.
Gold-plated cables seems high-end, I will search and try one of those chargers & cables.

yes it is a pity that XDA doesn't like to paste the links in the topics but what if we would google them and find them ebay or amazon and they are clones or fake.
so when connected in the car with 12V it gives 1.5A to instead of 2.4A?
Is this as good as the ones from Aukey?

It is unfortunate, and as much as I would like to post them I can't without having the OP get locked like some others I've written up. Even when I buy products and link them it raises flags for some reason, bht thags neither here nor there
The input rating if the charger is different than the output. I charged a AC 2.0 batter pack at 12V/1.5A which is the highest 12V rate that the charger is rated for. I have a Power Partners 30W single port QC 2.0 charger somewhere that will output somewhere around that in terms of the 12V but I've never tested it.

so when used in a car with 12v sigarette lighter plug it will never get higher then 1.5A or is it only this one? Are there other chargers that get more amps though that 12v port then this one?
The reason I ask is because when my phone is connected to the 12v car charger it does not get charged while using it with max brightness, gps, 4g, 2 or 3 apps at the same time, ...

As I mentioned the input current will be at 12V from the car, but it can also output at 12V via the QC standard. I can charge 2 phones (1 on each port with multimeters connected) to see he max current I can draw which should be the rated 33W if I recall correctly.

Great info you have here. lol

Thanks for compiling this. I emailed Anker about the Astro Pro2 ad unfortunately it does not support Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0. They said that PowerIQ is different and doesn't charge as fast. I think the only ones that will do Fast Charge are ones certified as such.
That being said, I'm in for the Aukey.
I've been looking to buy the Aukey but its unavailable from Amazon right now

I believe it has to be a "charge and sync" cable. I have some charge only cables that came with small micro-USB powered devices that fail to fast charge, but a generic USB cable does. The charge-only cables don't need to pass data because the devices they came with only use them for power so it looks like you have to have the data lines intact.
I also got some nice micro-USB cables at Best Buy that have nice LED lights in them. The Pt brand one with just an LED light at the micro-USB end was able to fast charge, but got extremely hot. The other brand (Modal) that had LED lights all along the length of it failed to fast charge. I'm guessing that either the drain of all of those LEDs or the fact that they are powered by a chip on one end of the cable means that they force the USB connection to only supply the basic power. Both are going back to BB.
I found a nice USB "charge and sync" cable at Walgreens that spring coils into a housing (the round housing has a regular USB plug coming out one side and a micro USB plug coming out the other end and if you pull on them they extend equally - pull again and they retract together to lie flush with the housing). That one does fast charge. It is replacing (along with a cheap 2.4amp car charger that was almost as fast as an QC2.0 charger) an old cheap retractable car charger that I used to use on trips that failed to even keep up with the power drain of navigation on the S6edge or my S5. The retractable cable is not listed on Walgreens web site and I found it behind the photo counter in a bin of USB chargers and cables.

E-filliate brand Retractable Charge & Sync Cable for Micro-USB
Model #1311653 (?)
UPC: 8 26341 02003 9
The Walgreens web site shows other E-filliate brand cables in bright colors, but not this one. It was not in the case with the other phone accessories, it was behind the photo counter in a plastic bin full of an assortment of colorful chargers and cables that looked like the kind of thing you'd find on the counter next to a checkout stand. It's only 2 feet long fully extended, but it packs nicely. Unless you are looking for something that packs away nicely without tangling, I would think you might find some nicer and cheaper cables elsewhere, although this one was only $10.
I'd buy the Anker. Can't go wrong with them.
My own issue is I have too many of them!
Got the 15Ah on sale for $30 earlier this year.
That new one is 20Ah, ridiculous capacity!
But needed on excursions with ipads, etc.
Not a big deal if it doesn't charge as fast. I'm tempted to buy it and use galaxy charge current and compare rates with the included wall charger. Of course current doesn't mean squat if we don't know what rail it's on, i.e. 1.5A at 9V is better than 2V at 5V.
EDIT: How about LUDICROUS capacity for same price as the older version?

I have 3 different quick chargers around and none of them charge at a different rate with the different cables I have laying around except for the long cables. I use them generically between the chargers, pc, various devices.
As to the long cables (3 plus meter) charge times slow down on the few I've tried. Not huge but noticeable.

There are 2 things to note here. The phone will say whether or not it is fast charging and it will also show a prediction for how long it will take to get 100%. You can actually get a reasonably quick "time to full" estimate on a basic charger that supplies higher amperage, but I believe you will only get the "10 minutes for 4 hours" boost from an actual QC2.0 accessory that successfully negotiates the QC protocol with the charger. The QC2.0 protocol involves not just higher amperage, but higher voltage, which likely makes the difference for that boost.
So, when you say you have 3 different "quick chargers" around, do you mean "officially Qualcomm QuickCharge 2.0 accessories", or a charger that is higher amperage than normal and so uses the words quick and charge on the box.
Having said that, I've seen basic 2+ amp chargers that are fairly common where the phone predicts a total charge time to 100% that is very close to what I get on the adaptive charger or whenever the phone claims it is fast charging (only ever on an official QC2.0 accessory with the right cable). I think the only real difference is offering the initial boost of 4 hours for 10 minutes, but in the long run "actual QC 2.0" is not that much better than any high amperage charger for a full charge because the charge rate is not linear as the phone approaches 100%. This is the same reason why DC charging for EVs never lists the time to full because they'll get you to 50-80% in half an hour and then take another 2 hours to get you to 100%. The speed enabled by the high voltage is only an initial boost and matters little for a full charge.
The reason I would want an actual QC2.0 charger for the car or for an external battery pack is that I often jump in the car for a 10 minute trip when I'm getting low and it would be nice to get a significant charge during that time. With an external battery, having QC2.0 would mean less time having to keep the phone tethered to a brick. Otherwise, if you are only looking for a full charge then an official QC2.0 vs a high amperage charger isn't that big of a deal.
I'm an engineer. I have three qualcomm quick charge 2.0 chargers, one Oppo charger with their competing (and better ) technology, and uncounted random chargers from unknown past phones. Some more potent and some less. Yes, each of those qualcomm quick chargers will respond to the embedded controller on the phone and provide quick charging, the phone will note such when plugged in and notify to that effect. Yes, they make quick charge 2.0 car chargers and I also have one of those and yes it charges at the same rate as the 120 chargers in the house.
I'm a bit of a slut when it comes to these things.
That's great. Keep in mind that the only reason I asked is that there are plenty of packages out there that use the term "quick charge" in a generic sense and so I usually specify QC2.0 when I mean QC2.0 to differentiate.
But, back to the original question - you were indicating that all of the USB cables you have tried all seemed to charge at the same rate. I will reiterate that I have found micro USB cables that do not pass QC2.0 and the phone will back off to a nominal rate when they are used. Usually the cable is special in some way, for example:
two cables that I believe came with my Chromecast - they have one of those "ferrite core" style bulges in the wire (pictured below) and were only originally intended to provide minimal USB power to the Chromecast (no data)
a Modal LED lighted "charge and sync" cable from Best Buy - since the LEDs animate to show power flow, there are obviously some electronics in the plug/wire to sequence them, and whether or not that was the reason, they did in fact prevent QC2.0 from engaging (the phone did not show a "fast charging" status).
As such, I'd look for cables that include both "charge and sync" (most do) and I'd avoid anything active in the cable, like an LED light. Having said that, the Pt brand lighted cable (also from BB) that has just a solid white LED only at the micro USB end did seem to allow fast charging, but it got very hot so I didn't really like it in the end - but it does show that there are some non-passive USB cables that will still work with QC2.0.
Chromecast cable:
I went to a couple of Samsung shops here in Taiwan and they were out of those new chargers for fast charge. They were only selling the regular chargers from before. Salesmen also said he heard something about the new chargers causing damage to the smartphone (sensors). He was not sure he said but has heard about this issue. He could not confirm for sure said but he was pretty sure.

Frys has a large selection of retractable micro USB cables. I picked up a 2-pack of 3 foot cables yesterday and the phone indicates "fast charging" on them:
http://www.frys.com/product/6630234
Longer than the Walgreens cable and cheaper for 2 of them, but the cables on the Walgreens model seem a little beefier (which is likely why they only fit 2' of cord in the same retractable package).
I bought the Anker without reading the description well enough. :silly: It arrived and is almost the size of a Tablet! I returned it. So, don't be "underachieving Rob Lowe" and carefully READ before you buy!

(REVIEW) Choetech 51w 4 port qualcomm quickcharge 2.0 car charger

The Choetech 4 port usb car charger is a great car charger. It is lightweight, compact and has 4 ports for your tablet and smartphone needs. One of the ports has adaptive fast charging capabilities while the other 3 charge your other devices at a reasonable speed. The other 3 ports also have the capability to detect what phone you have and charge them at there maximum charginging rate. It comes with a qualcomm fast charging usb cable so you dont have to purchase your own or you can use the cable that came with your phone also to fast charge it. As soon as you plug the included usb cable in your phone, the fast charging info in the notification dropdown pops up and lets you know how long it will take to charge your phone to 100%. This car charger has done a great job in doing that compared to my other two car chargers i have and i highly recommend it.

I guess if you have a larger family and you want charging cables all over the place, this would be nice. But I just can't see myself ever using four ports. TOPS would be my wife and I , and I already have a dual port one. Thanks for the review, but I'm going to pass.

Someone like me in the Ridesharing industry, two cigarette lighters is not enough! This would be perfect so I can have a charger for myself, iPhone passengers, and Android passengers. Then I could use the other port for my dash cam power!
Edit: Nevermind. Seems the cable is not included.
The QC 2.0 port supplies 15w with 9V and 1.67A which seems to be the the requirement of the Samsung S6 fast charge feature (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=59794206&postcount=9). I suppose it will enable that feature...
Did you try it on a S6? Is the Fast Charge enabled while connecting the S6 on the QC 2.0 port?
Any concerns about the battery safety?
Thanks
Customer reviews are very good about this product on Amazon. it is mostly compatible with any device. I am going to buy one.
I've just ordered a Aukey quick charger. Won an eBay bid for £5!

Choetech Quick Charge 2.0 USB Car Charger

Great charger, works great with my Note 5 and has plenty of space of others to charge alongside it.
Choetech also was nice enough to allow me to test one of these charger for them.
I found it to be an excellent charger.
I have copied my review from amazon here for the fine folks here at XDA.
I will try to answer any questions you may have, just post up a reply or send me a PM.

This is a great little charger, and I do mean little.
The size actually surprised me a bit considering this is a 4 port charger.
I expected this to be a huge block sticking up from my 12v car port, but it actually is a nice small charger.
I have 2 port chargers that are bigger than this is, enough about that, on to the review.
Looking in the package you will find:
The Choetech 4 port Quick Charge 2.0 certified charger
3' USB cable
Instruction manual
The USB cable is one of the best ones I have received with a charger in a while.
It is not thin and flimsy like you usually get.
The charger itself is made of a nice gloss black plastic and looks and feels like it will hold up well to years of abuse in your vehicle.
This charger does support Qualcom Quick Charge 2.0, meaning that it will auto adjust voltages and amperage to best charge you compatible device as quick as possible.
In testing I found this charger to be able to charge my LG G4 and Samsung Galaxy Note 5 in about the same time as my other Quick Charge 2.0 certified wall chargers.
This will also charger non Quick Charge 2.0 certified devices at the maximum rate they will allow.
I tested my LG G3 that is not Quick Charge 2.0 certified and will max out at 2.1a charge rate.
It got 2.0a charge rate from this charger which is great.
There is also a blue LED on this to help you find it easier in the dark.
The LED itself is dim as to not be distracting,
I have attached some pictures showing how small this charger is and me using it to charge multiple devices including 2 phones and a GPS unit.
I have had zero problems with this unit and am glad to have it.
I would recommend this to anyone with a car or truck and either multiple devices they need to use daily or a device that is Qualcom Quick Charge 2.0 certified.

I received this at a discount in exchange for an honest review, this does not change my opinion of the product in any way.
I have to agree with the others, it's a solid product. Has 4 ports (idk why you'd need more than that! xD)
But nonetheless if you charge in the car this is something you should think about picking up.
My 2 cents:
It's pretty small. This thing packs a lot of power for its size.
It is scratch and finger print prone, but I plan on leaving this in the car all the time; so that doesn't really affect me.
The charging light changes color based upon normal charging (Blue) versus quick charging (Green)
Otherwise the guys above did a cool review.
I too received a discounted product for an honest review.
Cool... I could use 2 of those

[Review] EasyAcc 20000mAh QC 2.0 Power bank & Dual Port QC 2.0 Car Charger

Disclaimer: I was sent these items in exchange for my fair & honest review
EasyAcc 20000mAh External QC 2.0 Enabled Battery Pack:
Overview
I have used external battery packs for a while now when I travel, or while at school. EasyAcc made a large 20000mAh tri-port external battery that has some interesting features.
What’s in the Box:
-EasyAcc 20000mAh power bank
-USB A-C cable to charge the battery
-USB A-Micro standard charging cable
-Documentation
Ports/Charging:
EasyAcc included 4 ports on their battery pack, but only 3 of these are used to charge your phone. The first one is a Qualcomm QC 2.0 enabled port. This one will allow you to charge your phone faster via the quick charge standard with a total output of 15.03W max just like Samsung’s Adaptive Fast Charger. The other two output ports are referred to as ‘Smart’ ports. This is just another way of branding the technology (Tronsmart has their Volt IQ, and Anker calls it PowerIQ). What this does is allow the phone to recognize the power bank and use all of the pins as ‘charge only’ instead of data transfer so the maximum speeds via a 5V port can be utilized. This is more commonly known as a charging port with the standard 5V/2.4A output given a fancy name.
The last port on the power bank is a USB Type-C input port. I was a little disappointed to see another manufacturer opt to only use USB Type-C as an input rather than an input/output which would have been a lot more useful for those of us that also have a Type-C device. The use of a Type-C input still allows for the battery to charge at 5V/3A (15W) which would be fast enough to satisfy most people. I personally do not like having an external battery that takes seemingly forever to fully charge. That would hurt how useful the battery would be, thankfully that’s not the case here.
Design/Build Quality:
This battery isn’t going to reinvent the wheel with its simple rectangular shape, but it does have a few things to set it apart from the crowd. First the top/bottom corners are rounded off at a nice angle to give it a nice feel. Second there is a power button conveniently located on the side instead of the usual top/front of the battery. On the opposite side of the battery you will find the Type-C input put which makes it easier to charge the battery without mistaking the port for an output.
Physically, this is a very large like the RavPower I used to have; the battery is reminiscent of a brick given its size (this is common with large power banks). Along the top you will find a series of 4 blue LED’s enclosed behind a small plastic strip. These indicate the current state of the battery to give you an idea of how much power is left inside. Since the battery is plastic, it does have a little ‘creek/give’ when you pick it up sometimes. I won’t say this is atypical, but some of my other battery packs that are also plastic don’t suffer from this. Lastly I will touch on the color, EasyAcc offers two different combinations, black/black, and black/orange; the one I was sent is black/orange. This combination isn’t too appealing to my personal tastes, but it might be to some of you, so I won’t go further into that.
I was able to get 3.15 charge cyles (11355 [mAh]) during my normal usage of the battery pack. I know this is short of the total capacity, however, the battery is at a lower voltage than the one it needs to charge at. This is the case for every external battery I have seen. This creates some efficiency loss, especially when stepping up to 9V for the QC 2.0 port. I think the charging results were acceptable given the number of factors that contribute to efficiency loss during charging. No battery will have 100% efficiency, or anywhere near that, so this is still a good battery.
Charging Results Table:
Charging Multimeter test:
Charging Ports:
Here is breakdown of the voltages/rates the battery can be charged at:
Output Smart Ports: 5V/2.4A (12W)
QC 2.0 Port: 5V/3A (15W), 9V/1.67A (15.03W), 12V/1.25A (15W)
Battery I/O Rating Pictures
The battery can charge up to 3 devices at once with its 3 output charging ports. The first and most relevant of these would be the QC 2.0 port. Since the S7/S7 Edge can utilize the faster charging rates it’s nice to have that option. I tested the battery by charging both my S7 Edge, Nexus 6P simultaneously without any issues.
Overall[SIZE] The battery pack might not be the best looking or most durable one out there, but it gets the job done. I liked the idea of a Type-C input port, although I would prefer a dual use Type-C in/out instead to help future proof the battery. There is a lot of potential in this battery given its 3 ports 1 of which is used for QC 2.0
EasyAcc Dual Port QC 2.0 Car Charger:
Overview Finding the right car charger can be difficult given how the needs of each person will vary. I have car chargers from: Incipio, Tronsmart, Samsung, Belkin etc... the use of a certain one will depend on what I need from it.
Ports/Charging
There are two ports on this particular charger like many others that I have. The first of the two is a Smart port, while the second is a QC 2.0 enabled one. Here is a quick recap of what the Smart port is as I wrote above:
The other port is referred to as ‘Smart’ port. This is just another way of branding the technology (Tronsmart has their Volt IQ, and Anker calls it PowerIQ). Design/Build Quality:
Like many other car chargers this one is primarily, constructed out of plastic. The charger doesn't sit flush in your outlet which can either be a good or bad thing depending on your car/preference. The backside has each port's label, and they are color coded for even easier quick identification; the QC 2.0 port is always orange, while the regular Smart port is white. When looking at the charger you will notice that it has a glossy finish on the plastic which isn't ideal for fingerprints, and will show scratches a lot easier than one with a matte finish. It makes the charger look a little 'cheap', yet at the same time it does not affect the overall durability of the charger.
Charging Ports:
Here is breakdown of the voltages/rates the battery can be charged at:

Rating
Overall This is a simple car charger that worked well during my testing. Both of the ports output their rated current when testing them. Other than the glossy finish the charger should work well for anyone that wants a simple dual port quick charger.

Question adaptors other than stock to charge rapidly

I have noticed that my stockpile of "fast" chargers I have acquired and used with my LG G8 do not enable the "charging rapidly" notification I get on the Pixel 5a.
Do I need to purchase a new set of USB-PD chargers for car & a/c outlet in order to achieve the fastest charging.
My current quick charge 3.0 adaptors make this phone say "charging" and not "rapidly"

Probably. If your current chargers don't support PD then you won't charge at max speeds. And if your current chargers are using USB-a, meaning you need a USB-a to USB-c cable you're definitely not fast charging.
I can recommend Anker products. The Nano pro is a sweet tiny charger.
Anker's PowerIQ vs Quick Charge vs Power Delivery: What are the differences? - Dignited
With a lot of competiting charging standards, It's quite hard to choose what's best for your device. PowerIQ, Quick Charge and USB PD are the most popular choices today
www.dignited.com
I have anker products already however they are using the older type-A connection. its a shame that google will only allow rapid charging via USB-PD spec and not the older QC-QC3.0 spec.
anker car chargers that support PD are not cheap either but I guess I should future proof myself
Considering that the 5a is only capable of charging at a maximum of 18W (9Vx2A) I am pretty sure the USB-A to USB-C cable will work, if you can find a PD charger that uses USB-A. The reality is that you will probably need to buy a PD car charger, and a USB-C to USB-C cable. I'm in the same boat. There are quite a few options, with PD and QC and 2.1A/2.4A USB charging all in a single charger, on Amazon and the usual suspects. I think the real disappointment is that the 5a only charges at 18W. The upside is that the phone not only has a huge battery but it has adaptive charging so will slow charge overnight - fast charging being bad for battery life.
You should look for a USB-C "charging" cable. Charging cables have larger wires for lower loss in the cable, but also are often USB 2 speeds for data, which is fine for dedicated charging use. It is also possible to find USB 3 charging cables. There are a number of different USB-C cables out there, including special ones with an IC to support Thunderbolt. Be sure to mark the capability of each one you buy. It is a bit of a mess.
Quick Charge works well but is not strictly consistent with the USB spec (although it does not interfere with USB operation). IIRC QC uses analog voltage levels on the signal lines to control the supply voltage. IIUC PD uses a digital handshake. I for one have been happy with QC but am glad to move to PD for phone and eventually laptop and tablet. Recent announcements extend PD from today's 100W max up to 240W max.
Android 12 looks to have tweaked Pixel Adaptive Charging so phones reach 100% closer to alarm
Pixel users have had hit or miss experiences with Adaptive Charging, and Google now looks to have tweaked how it works on Android 12...
9to5google.com
this article explains a lot. I have been using adaptive charging for the "slow" overnight on my 2nd day of use since the battery has so much capacity. I woke up the other night because of a thunderstorm and noticed my phone was already at 100% 5 hours before my alarm was set to go off. Another night I woke up to use the bathroom, around 3 hours after I had went to sleep and plugged in phone, verified it said adaptive initially and now it said rapidly! Why would a phone switch to rapidly charging in the middle of the night. I might just dig out an OLD slow charger brick from the basement cave to prevent this overnight mystery from a gimmick feature.
Will post back when I acquire a car charger capable of "rapid" charging which 18w seems plenty fast to me for most road trips.

I actually have a car charger that triggers the 'Charging rapidly' notification. I would link to it at Amazon, but I bought over a year ago and it appears they no longer have that item in their stock. You need to make sure on those that they have a USB-C port on them labeled "PD3.0" or I believe that makes them incompatible. The search term I used there was
Code:
usb c car charger pd 3.0 21w
The 5a uses a USB-PD 2.0 charge protocol, not PD 3.0. Any USB-PD charger should work, as there were very few v1 devices ever made. When buying a car charger I recommend a charger with at least two ports: a PD charge port (USB-C) and a QC charge port (USB-A). The latest ones will support PD 2/3, PD 3 PPS, and QC 4 (and even 4+ and 5) on the USB-C port, and QC 2/3 plus several other protocols with the USB-A port. That pretty much covers the great majority of smart phones. I just bought a three port (2xUSB-C, 1xUSB-A) car charger. The USB-C ports are identical except that one is 30W (for phones) and the other is 100W (for laptops and tablets, or another phone). Note that increasingly new devices are requiring the PD 3.0 PPS, and there are fewer chargers available that support that. Also, higher power charging requires a special cable with a supporting IC inside so I ordered the package that included charger and cable.
My order: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003400586617.html
A good 2 port car charger with 65W PD: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002851748989.html
As has been stated, a USB-C Power Delivery compliant charger is required to charge at the maximum 18 watt rate.
Power Delivery is a USB-IF standard, whereas Quick Charge is a Qualcomm proprietary standard.
