Your Galaxy S7 Edge is beautiful, but it’s also fragile. Our friends at Cover-Up offer some amazing hand-finished real wood cases for your S7 Edge in a range of styles and wood species. Each #WoodBack case combines practical protection for your phone with the beauty of nature. And because Cover-Up use real wood, each case is always completely unique.
Cover-Up offers two styles of case for the Galaxy S7 Edge: a slim-fitting “Snap Case”, along with their tougher, more durable “Explorer Case”. For the minimalist, we’d recommend the #WoodBack Snap Case. It easily fits onto your phone and offers protection from knocks and bumps, leaving the wood itself to take centre stage.
For more serious protection, we’d go for Cover-Up’s #WoodBack Explorer Case. It has rubber-like TPU edges for shock absorption and added grip. It also features a raised bezel to guard your screen from scratches.
Find the full collection of wood finishes here, or take a look at some of our favorites below.

Hi check out my thread that I created on this and my review,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3343558

What are the sides of the snapcase (the black part that goes around the edges) made of? Do the edges at the top and bottom keep the glass from touching a surface if you put the phone face down?
Thanks.

The edges are made of plastic but it's soft touch and there is no lay on the table design meaning if it is face down it will be the glass touching the table. They do sell a case called the Explorer which I should be getting next week and I will be reviewing it so subscribe to my channel! Hope this helps

I want one of these, but no lip on the glass is a no go. What's the point?

It's a minimalist case for those who are only looking for scratch protection I guess, have you looked at the explorer case that they make?

I agree it's a minimalist case, but their first line of sale is talking about how fragile the phone is.
I did check out the Explorer via your YouTube review where you said there is no lip, so I passed over it. I really like the case, but I think they should have went a step further in their design on the Explorer case in that regard. They just need to add a couple of millimeters at the top and bottom chin as there isn't much you can do for the sides.
I may still pick one up for occasions as it is a really good looking case. I like the black ash.

Review: Martin Field's Screen Protector (Best I've Ever Used!)

I purchased this based on some feedback I had read one some other forums. I have tried nearly every major screen protector out there (Spigen, RearthUSA, Incipio, PowerSupportUSA, Switcheasy, BodyGuardz, XO Skins, Best Skins Ever, a ton of cheap ones off Amazon, Zagg, etc.). Up until this point, I had always found the Ultra Crystal from Spigen to be the best overall. Not anymore.
Before I get started I want to mention that the Martin Fields Screen protectors are not cheap. One screen protector for the Nexus 7 is $29.99 ($34.99 for one iPad protector and $16.99 for one Galaxy Nexus protector)and it only comes with one screen protector and a set of instructions. That's it. I will say that the packaging is very environmentally friendly for those that care (makes no difference to me).
One issue I've always found to be a huge problem with these dry, crystal clear screen protectors (Again, think Spigen Ultra Crystal) is that they show fingerprints so easily that it really can become a huge nuisance and to my surprise this one doesn't show much at all. I would say it's nearly as good at resisting fingerprints as a matte finish screen protector.
A very innovative feature this screen protector offers is that it is completely removable. They include a Mylar sheet that you can stick it to if you need to take it off. Just apply a small piece of scotch tape at the bottom corner and slowly pull to remove it. This does bring up the biggest problem that I have with this protector though. It is somewhat brittle. It will crease if you aren't careful with it.
Turn on a steamy shower and install. Be patient as these things are a perfect fit and will require some patience to install.
Quick Summary:
PROS:
As clear as any I've ever used
Does not pick up oils like most clear, dry application screen protectors generally do
Feels as close to glass as anything I've ever used
Reusable
Covers entire screen
Comes with a Camera Lens cover as well
CONS:
Not cheap. If you purchase directly from MartinFields.com it is $16.99 + $4.99 shipping. Be aware of fakes on Amazon.
Doesn't come with much. Just a simple paper package, a screen protector and a Mylar sheet to apply it to if you decide to take it off and use it later.
Fragile, it will crease if you aren't careful

Oh! Thank you Breezer for posting this review! We all low you so much!
Martin field are awesome. I'm using one on my galaxy nexus since January and it's still in perfect shape. I would buy that for my N7 but I'm keeping it naked.

Hahahaha! That is hilarious. They do show fingerprints like a lot of dry application protectors but they don't have that blue smear effect ou get (Ultra Crystal).
So I purchased one of these and installed it this afternoon. All is well except three of the corners have a bubble and appear slightly lifted. The protector appears to be installed properly and no amount of rubbing with a credit card or fingers can get these edges to stick. Fwiw, I tried a reinstallation and have not touched the adhesive side.
Sent from my Nexus 7
How easy to install screen protector like this on Nexus 7?
I have concern for dust particles, bubbles and imperfection because 7" is not quite small.
And how is it with the touch, swiping, etc. still good?
If you can make some photos showing from corner to corner, that would be awesome.
Thanks for your review btw, I am considering to use this MF screen protector + some kind of back-case ala Incipio Feather for phones
I have installed probably 10 different protectors on devices of various shapes and sizes, and I find that with patience, the bigger the device, the easier it is to get the protector aligned properly. But it does take patience as you can spend 15-30 minutes just fishing dust out with scotch tape without getting fingerprints on the back side of the protector to get a perfect, bubble free adhesion.
I gave up on running a hot shower while doing it as it just makes the dust harder to find if it gets on the screen anyways, and for me it always seems to.

Case: nillikin
Color: white
Phone: White Verizon Galaxy note II
NFC: Operational
Screen protector: Included
Cost: $8-9 usd
Purchase location: EBAY
Protection details: Case covers the back and sides but leaves the silver edges on the top and bottom visible and unprotectected.
The case has a small lip around the sides so if you place your phone face down the screen stays protected.
WARNING:
This case is not intended to protect your phone from drops because it is extremely thin and offers no 2nd layer of impact protection.
Material Quality and Feel:
Case is made up of a white hard plastic like your standard tpu cases and feels smooth all around. (The texture on the back does not create a grippy feeling)
The quality of materials are definitely under average and you can tell by slight defecrs of how the case was cut out of its constructed templates. When I feel around the outside and inside of the case you see and feel small jagged pieces of plastic that stayed behind when the case was cut from its molding or template. The inside pieces have also slightly scuffed the side silver trim as well.
Case color is very prone to getting discolored when being taken in and out of denim jean pockets. I loved the color right out of the box but im definitely hesistant to recommend this white color because of the discoloration issue. (Cannot wipe away discoloration)
My positives: Looks clean out of box and its thinness adds no bulk to the phone.
Included screen protector is a fingerprint magnet but is actually decent enough quality for me to keep on for awhile.
Negatives: color gets stained/dirty easily and un removable. Imperfections on outside and inside of plastic damage phone and your hand (not cuts but just irritates me feeling the pieces)
See pictures for examples of my case

I have the black one and I absolutely love it. It feels good in the hand. I don't have any rough plastic areas, so maybe the op got a bad one. I must admit the case fits very firmly on the phone which makes it difficult to remove.

Two Random Flip Cases with Magnets on Ebay [Review]

My Review:
Contents: Plastic Case box; Flip Case; x1 included Screen Protector
Build Quality: Synthetic leather, flexible with a nice texture feel to it. The magnet on the flap is nice due to it's length it stays in position when you close the case. There is a hard shell casing for the phone that you would just slide the GN2 right in. The screen protector on the other hand is a simple cheap build quality item I would suggest something better, it however covers about 90% of the surface and leave's a few centimeters of spacing at the edges.
The padding itself in the inside feel's cheap it can get dirty; it uses the same type of cloth as you would find in a glasses case.
3.5/5
Fit: Nice a slim fit, if you stacked two credits cards on each other that's the thickness around the case. Phone fits nice not bulky it just fits very well. Slides in a pocket with ease and stay's put and easy to take out.
5/5
S-Pen Access: Very hard to take out unless you have nails, if you don't use the S-Pen often this won't be much of an issue.
2.5/5
Protection: Good overall protection, on the negative side the top and bottom edges of the phone is exposed however the hard casing that fits the phone provides protection at the corners. The magnet also stays in place due to it's length it doesn't pop the phone case open so easily in my pocket (it fits in my pocket as well) and stays put.
3/5
Overall Opinion: This case is quite nice for it's price tag $9;

Contents: Plastic Wrapped Case; Flip Case
Build Quality: Hard plastic casing, interior has a silky texture for protection from scratches to the screen. The front cover & flap is a little flimsy and hard to align to the magnet to close the case. Magnet is not too strong but wish it would be bigger for more accurate magnetic case closing like the Black Leather case above.
2/5
Fit: Very slim fit to the phone and barely add's much thickness. Front cover sticks out a bit when closed at the magnet end. Having the phone in stand formation the grip on the sily interior holds the phone up by friction.
4/5
S-Pen Access: Very hard to take out unless you have nails, if you don't use the S-Pen often this won't be much of an issue.
2.5/5
Protection: Decent protection, unlike the Black Leather casing there is more cover area for the bumper's on the top and bottom of the phone. Front cover easily opens due to weak magnet so it won't do too well for a fall. This case is more for scratch protection while storing away via pocket/bag.
2.5/5
Overall Opinion: For $14.95 it's not worth it at that price point, the Black Leather at $8.95 has a much better build. However if your looking for a simple case to protect the screen during storage this would be for you.
2.5/5

It looks like I have the second one but without the fancy print. I like the case very much. It's good protection without adding a lot of bulk.
One drawback though, it is very difficult to get the pen out of the Note while using this case. But I don't use the pen anyway so for me it is not a big problem.
Just got the first case in the mail, updated my review on it via OP.

Pictures: Ringke Slim case and Plason tempered glass with proximity sensor cutout

disclaimer: I wanted a very thin case. I don't like huge cases. I understand that there is limited drop protection. I am only interested in having a minimal lip so that the camera or screen do not scratch when I set the device down.
I started with the spigen case and screen protector. Screen protector covered the proximity sensor making the screen turn black during calls regardless of proximity. The case fit well but felt cheap. Design was too bulky despite being marketed as a slim case. Not necessarily becuase it was not thin, but all the corners were too squared off.
So here is the new setup. The case feels good, I wish there was a matted and smoked version, but this will do. The plastic does feel a bit slick. It definitely feels more secure in my hands naked as compared to the case.
The screen protector works perfectly. It has an oleophobic coating that works pretty well too. There is a proximity cutout so the screen does not cut off during calls. The fit is great, goes out all the way to the edges, and the cutouts are very precise. The screen protector comes in a hard cardboard box for shipping, included is a wet/dry wipe and a dust absorber film that worked well.

Looks good! If you have the RIngke Fusion can you take a pic of that?
unfortunately I dont have the Ringke Fusion. I would be curious how long it will take for the clear TPU portion of that case to start turning yellow tho
Did you end up with bubbles or nah
one on the top right that i may have to go back and fix if it doesnt go away. bubbles is very much an installation issue though
I can't see the pictures. There's only a grey minus logo.
I also bought Ringke Slim.
This case has a frosted version but I can only find it from Rearth's Korean website.

I got the exact same case. It came today and I set up my 5x. I don't mind the feel of the case too much. Sides feel more trippy than Nakey. My big complaint is that it creaks to all [email protected]*k. It fits well and like you I like the lip over screen but have you tried popping it off?. Will do till another one comes along.

Just got the Ringke slim in black today and I love it so far. I ordered the Ringke glass screen protector but it won't ship until next week.
I got the clear/frost adopted case but it's a little too bulky for what I want.
Is the clear Ringke slippery at all? Read somewhere that was a complaint about the clear one. Black one has nice grip and feel to it.

So far it is not, but I am not about to start twisting and squeezing my phone just to find out!! lol

I would definitely get a case for this

Went into a tmobile store to see their demo blue coral and noticed a lot of scuff marks on the bottom rear of the phone. I can only assume they've only had this for a a week and it's already this bad. SMH. They are definitely scratches. I tried rubbing it off and ran my nails through it. Rough AF.

Anyone that doesn't immediately get a case for a glass phone, gets what they deserve.
Maybe that's how they made gorilla glass 5 more durable to drops by making it softer. But now more susceptible to scratches.

Speaking of cases, what is everyone planning on getting? I got a cheap Supcase Bettle unicorn, frosted case to begin with. I'll probably get a Spigen Neo hybrid later on.
I'm not going with a case... Toast said they'll have wooden skins ready by the end of the month, so that's what I'm going for.
Maybe leather if they make one. But not metal or plastic.

Ok, looking at that...you convinced me not to use a typical case. What devices have you used this for? How does it protect against drops? I am not one of those who will beat down on their devices but sometimes I do forget it is on my lap while at movie theaters and it will drop....or stepping down from cars. Does it cover all the edges? Looking at the pictures on their websites I can't tell....give me the skinny!

The very edges are slightly visible, but the corners are covered. The sides of the phone are also covered, and they include wooden button caps and camera lens covers. The front isn't covered unless you spend the $10 for a front cover, but if you do then of course the capacitive buttons and fingerprint scanner are left uncovered. The wood isn't thick enough to interfere with usage, thankfully, but it is the thickest and highest quality wood cover I've seen.
I don't have any phones that they make skins for, but I've visited their "factory" in Portland and handled several iPhones and Android phones with their skins attached. They're really nice and high quality, better than similar skins I own for other products.
Take a look at this video for a typical phone installation:
As you can see, nice and easy - just be careful about it, and go slow. It will re-adhere if you mess it up, but the first application is always the strongest by far, and you don't want those edges coming up.
E: I should clarify that you can re-apply in the first 5-10 minutes, but after that the adhesive is 'set' and will not be reusable. It's really strong adhesive, so it isn't going anywhere, but it also does have an oxygen-activated cure.
Skins are a thick sticker and protect as such. They are no replacement for a good case.

Agreed. A skin, even a wooden one, is not a case. They don't offer shatter protection - merely scratch protection. In this case they also make the phone look nicer in my opinion :good:
I would like to mention a small local company. They haven't put out a note 7 case yet. They offer several cases made out of exotic wood, and they look fan-****ing-tastic.

That why i scoff at people that say you dont need a case because either its going to be easier to scratch or easier to shatter.

This exactly. There is a trade off of hardness to toughness. Hardness is what prevents scratching but the harder you make it, the more shatter prone so in essence you lower the toughness

are most of the scratches at the bottom? that's not where fingers typically rest
