Game Controller / Game Pads - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Accessories

Can we compile a list of game controllers that are confirmed to work with the S7. I'm seeing lots of conflicting info atm.
For me so far PS3 with sixaxis app NOT working.
Moga Pro? One thread says it works, another says it doesn't

Moga power pro works fine. I use it with my s7 edge and gear vr with no issues.

I have the mogo hero power. It works with my s7e just fine in mode B.

iPEGA PG-9025 Bluetooth Wireless seems to be working well for me so far.

I use matricom and it works well. It also sort of works with ps4 remote play. The only buttons I can't get to work are the dpad.

Moga pro and hero work fine for me, but i couldnt get it connected through the moga app, just used the phones bluethooth.

I have the Moga Pocket. I'll see if it works and report back.

I have the Moga Pocket. Had to pair it through the phones BT, as the Moga app doesn't want to work. But then it worked fine for me.

Anyone tried DualShock4 without ROOT? I can't get it to work

I have a Ipega9021 and it works fine also.

I live in Thailand and my options were a little limited but I bought a IPEGA PG-9037 the other day from a local online retailer, just got a delivery notification so will try it out when I get home from work

xiaomi works quite well but in dreadhalls, the look control should be on the R joystick. instead it's on the left D pad so a little annoying. Also the menu and back buttons don't work so on the gear VR i have to use the back button on the headset.
For normal games without the VR all the buttons seem to work well

Only the newer Ds4 worked with previous phones, not the first generation.
I tried my silver one with the S7 edge, it would connect but wouldn't work.
The first generation controllers don't even connect.
So got a Moga as well, which works fine. (In mode b)

IPEGA PG-9037 Confirmed working

Are there any confirmed working that have the ps layout? I am not a fan of the xbox layout.
Thanks!

I don't think you can use it without root, which is a pity. A dualshock controller would of been awesome for the VR.

The dock is extremely expensive for its sparse functions and the game pronotion is going already without the need to buy anything. Great job, Sony.

I thought the same thing logseman...you still have to hook it up to a stereo so I don't really see too much of a point.

How much is it mate?
20 euro in Amazon.de, plus postage. It is stylish, but such a price is excessive.
You do get a charger with it. Still a bit expensive especially since it won't work when you use a case
i would have bought it if it had an HDMI out
I got the Multimedia Dock and I just love it
I'm tempted in the dock but there is no way on earth it's worth the money! cheapest i've seen it in the UK is £17.99 (from sites i've heard of)
It list eternal legacy but I don't see it in the store?

No, when you connect the Xplay to the dock you can use the phone speakers if you want.
I have the dock and I use it for having the Xplay as alarm clock, really useful.
I can see this being useful say if you're on a long journey and you can stick your phone in the dock and watch a movie or play a game (connect up a wiimote and you're sorted)
Tempted by this. Price however not so much

Heh yes, but my N64oid doesn't let me map the touch pads. Can't play Orcarina of time without the C buttons
For a lot of games it works to map some C buttons and use the touch screen for the less used c buttons. N64oid can display only the C buttons on the touch screen if you want (in the lower right corner even).

So that's about $30 US? Not bad considering the dock itself is $30 on Amazon in the US already. Guess I'll wait for this pack... it is coming to the States, right?
Was like $60ish here in Japan but I love docks and happy I got this one. Works great as an alarm
How are you guys handling the analog for n64oid.... Us it possible to map it to our analog pads?
Sorry if it seems random I was trying to quote the above quote but I'm new to this app haha.

I just started using it right now. I mapped the Dpad controls to the Dpad, just left the analog on screen.
c buttons are CL-Vol Up, CU-Vol Down, CR-Triangle, CD-Square
Z button is Select. everything else is the usual.
If this thing had speakers, it would be on a delivery van heading here.
But I'm not buying a pretty "charger".

iControlPad or Joy Phone or zeemote JS1?

Ive all but given up hope that wiimotes will ever be supported on our tab...anyone tried any of the controllers listed in the subject on a galaxy tab 7 with success?
Thanks.

Or keyboard...hadnt really thought about it before, but i used to use a keyboard for gaming on my PC all the time. Anyone doing this?
So i went ahead and ordered an iControlPad and I will report back here what it can or can't do on my VZW gb tab.
Sent from my SCH-I800 using XDA App
Edit: just read in the comments for the 'Bluez IME' app which supports all of the controllers noted in the subject that it supposedly does work on a galaxy tab 7. Guess i will know first hand soon enough
yes! I thought I was the only one, I use my bluetootg keyboard witg enulators, and other games? Love playing doom and prince of persia in ADOSBOX. I recomend trying this out, thinkgeek has a pretty nice keyboard case for it which I use for gaming and typing this post, it does require getting used to. (i really recomend trying adosbox, it is great for classics. all Ive been doing the past few day.)
I was starting to wonder if anyone else had any interest in the subject. Still waiting for the shipment. Will probably look into keyboards soon...I would love to try some descent on my tab.

I ordered an iControlPad too and waiting for it to arrive. After it does I'll post an update on how it is. I plan to use it with fpse, gameboid and n64oid. I have heard that not many android games support buttons via bluez-ime.
My iControlPad came in today. Watch for a post of my impressions this weekend, maybe a few pictures while I'm at it.

Sorry, no time to make a youtube video, but the steps are simple enough.
Once you have a control pad and the free BluezIME app that is available from the market, you basically just treat the ICP (iControlPad) as an extended set of hardware keys in the game/app that you would like to control with it. This means that the ICP is not actually recognized as an ICP, but in simple terms, as a set of 20 hardware keys. Once your pad is recognized and connected through the BluezIME app you just go into the custom button settings to assign what the function of each button is. I did this successfully with both FPse and snes9x EX, and I am certain that many of the emulation apps would be able to do this.
I was not able to get any applications that natively support the ICP to recognize it as such, which I am assuming is because of the restrictions/limitations that Samsung has built into the bluetooth protocols of their devices. EDIT: latest version of FPse did recognize the ICP without BluezIME! BUT, the fact that I was able to work around this with the BluezIME app and custom button settings in my apps of choice makes me very pleased with the purchase.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not much to say about the product itself. It seems well built and I noticed no delay in the controls or problems with gaming situations that require pressing multiple buttons at once. It is about the size of an old NES controller and has 20 programmable buttons when used with the BluezIME app.
My biggest gripe with playing emulators on my tab in the past was that button combinations were very difficult with on-screen controls, and your hands just get in the way of the experience. This device eliminates both of those glaring problems. If you are into emulation, skip the wiimote drama because this is what you are looking for. Personally, I feel that this little device adds a ton of value to my tab.
I got one too and its great. Also I can use it with other devices like laptops and desktop pcs.
Can anyone confirm if this works with the wifi only version (p1010)? I received mine yesterday, and can't get it to connect. I've tried blueZ as well as some of the other modes for the device. Maybe you guys could help?

CheapCast?

I'm going to be picking my Glass up today (yay!) and I was wondering if anyone has tried installing CheapCast by apk onto their Glass.
I've seen there are some launchers that work with standard Android apps, but it would be pretty cool to have CheapCast since it would let you cast anything to your glass. It could be really handy.

Yeah, it is. However, since XE16 it seems that Glass doesnt accept any input other than its own. I tried a usb mouse and keyboard using a usb to micro-usb adapter, and a bluetooth mouse and keyboard. This makes it impossible to log in to netflix, and other native android applications is a lot more difficult to use now. Hopefully Google re-adds the possibility to use these devices again.

You have to root do go wireless blue tooth.
Moga Pro Power. I originally wanted the Samsung controller, but after a brief stint with the similar sized Moga Hero I'm glad it was out of stock everywhere. It was just too small for my hands, which are used to Xbox controllers.

You need it in Mode B, the orange power switch all the way to the right. You need to pair it while in Mode B, as well. Pairing in Mode A is not sufficient.

Yes, as per what bleedingpurist say.
Set your Moga to Mode B, and pair it with Bluetooth (Moga Pro HID) or similiar. After successfuly pairing you should be good to go.
I recommend create shortcut launch for VR game that requires controller on your phone (using nova launcher), so once your activated the bluetooth and connect the controller, quickly launch the VR game and plug in your phone to the headset to use.

No, that refers to using an Xbox or PS controller. You do not need to be rooted to use a Bluetooth controller intended for Android.

the problem with controllers are they all don't work with the VR.

Got the mygt controller from Amazon, works pretty well, don't expect any official support in software side. Works like any Xbox controller and feels like one too. Native controller support for games is there, but games like pubg would require controller mapping to touch screen, with octopus or tincore, which are still not a mature solution like the first party support from Nvidia etc. Overall games play well and emulators are really enjoyable.
Came across this video using mechanical L1R1 triggeres unable to find the link to product, have a look :

I briefly tested PUBG (I don't play the game), couldn't find and control setting in the game that I could map the keys, but the right control stick worked already as a mouse. I think you can spend sometime figuring it out you could get it working with the game setting the Ipega as a keyboard and install the apps. As I don't install the control app. hope it helps
