nearly every rom has a flashable zip file via cmw to overclock cpu to definite speed but the questien is :what does rom overclocking depend on ? that makes a rom overclock cpu to a definite speed and another rom to another speed ?
What makes a ROM overclockable is its kernel. So when you install a .zip file to overclock, you are installing a new kernel, or a patch to it. So it will be possible for you to overclock. And the speed is dependable on the kernel. Different ROMs may be the same OC speed (not necessarily the same kernel, but one with similar speed configuration).
The Rom developer overclocks CPU by understanding the safest overclockable frequency by identifying chipset of mobile. Then he edits ramdisk in boot.img

Anyone aware of an application called "Ram Expander".
It virtually increases the Ram size of our devices by virtually creating a space on the SD Card and using it as a Ram, hence increasing the overall speed and performance of the phone.

My question is I have rooted my I9001 and i am using CM9 ICS 4.0.4 and 2.6.35 Kernel by CastagnalT and it says that the kernel is not supporting so does anyone have have any idea which kernel supports this function?

I have samsung galaxy ace S5830 running on Cm 7 ( 20130301 )Nightly build ...i mst say this rom is really awesome all features/apps working,only thing missing is Swap memeory support
Using Link2sd i have created swap partition by refering guide on how to create swap partiton on xda also i use a 8gb class 10 sd card, but when i try to run Swapper 2 it gives fail message also tried Ram expander it says ur kernel is not supported for swap
Had already tried Cm 10.1,though it supported swap but it really has big battery life problem not suitable for daily use.
So i want to use swap in my current rom ,can anyone plzz tell me how to activate Swap in this Rom.
Try the PSN modded firekernel it has swap support..
If you install the new kernel and the swap partition isn't mounted automatically, install Swapper 2 from Google Play. However, you need a kernel with swap support. So try the one already mentioned.

I want to know if there is an jelly bean 4.1.2 rom in section "Android Development" that has Swap support for ram.I want to use ram expander.I already tried Philz kernel and Hello world speed kernel and i got no luck.Can someone explain me in detail how to make ram expander work on my note .

Hi! I want the same thing on my note but i can't find any kernel...none helps us! Anyway,did u manage to dualboot your rom official jb from Samsung with other rom?
Guys do nothing!! I would suggest you to use Hydracore Nirvana Kernel, it may have the support for Ram Expander!!!
How about using Custom Kernels? Like Hydracore or COH? It's a good kernel :good:

Swap support requires tweaking in the kernel irrespective of what rom you are using..
COH kernel has swap support and i have personally used it along with ram expander.

2) How can we be sure that ram expander really increases the ram by using the swap file? How do we test this?
3) Is it possible to install only your kernel with keeping my existing Rom? Just flashing that Kernel is possible?

this command will tell you if swap is active.. if the swap value is 0 then its not active.

3. It depends on the rom you are using. COH kernel is for touchwiz jb roms. If you are running same then you can change the kernel and try.
1. I have never felt the phone so slow to use ram expander. Although I hardly was on touchwiz.

It says in the TS that kernel 20140622 is included in the ROM, but 20140625 is newer and better (more free RAM). How do I install that kernel?
