Diamond and AT&T 3G network.

Hi everyone:
I just bought a new HTC Diamond and brought it back to US.
In US I'm using AT&T and my previous phone was HTC TytnII which also brought from Taiwan.
When I was using TytnII, I can get 3G signal with no problem at all.
However yesterday when I get off the plane and put my ATT sim card into my new Diamond, I can only get EDGE signal.
I read some threads in the forum already and I found out that maybe is the radio's problem.
Now here is my question, I checked my config of the radio option in Diamond and I found out that I did have the option for UMTS(850+1900) which I know that AT&T use this freq. for 3G network. So how could I still have no 3G signal after all? Is this a hardware limitation? Or should I upgrade my radio rom(I think I'm using .05 radio right now since I haven't upgraded anything.)
Please help me out here because I really have no clues...Tks.
try installing or have it sign in on att network...check your network setting...or find htc network config cab that should do it.
make sure that its sign in on medianet or pda plan which ever you have. you can google att network sign in
Did you buy the U.S. 3G version? It's got a bigger battery(1350) and a rubberized battery cover.
I tried using Network Wizard to reset but still no good news.
Can you tell me what kind of data plan you are using right now?
Mine is 19.99/month but I know there is a PDA data plan.
I'm wondering maybe it's the data plan that restricts me from 3G network.
However I'm still able to access MediaNet network via EDGE though.

No it doesn't. I had a US Diamond purchased from Best Buy, and it looked identical to the European version.
To the OP:
Unless you bought the US version of the Diamond, it does not have the hardware necessary to connect to AT&T's 3G network.

He was confused. The CDMA version in the US (and Telus in Canada?) has the larger battery with the non-faceted back.

I don't want to sidetrack this thread, but I don't believe you bought the unlocked US 3g version. Mine is missing the front camera (different then the european version), and it has the 1340 battery and "rubberized" backing. Bought mine through bestbuy also.

Agree with rpassmore. I bought mine from Best Buy and it comes with the bigger battery and different battery cover (it's different both in that it's rubberized, and also bigger to accomodate the bigger battery).
Perhaps the confusion is such that the latest Euro models also include these upgrades?? In any case, the first run of the Euro model was a few millimeters thinner due to a smaller battery and battery cover, and the battery cover also had a shiny finish too.
The Diamond I bought from Best Buy ($699) had the faceted back similar to the Fuze. I didn't pay attention to the battery since the phone was too small for me overall.

Streak 7 WiFi Weak ?

Hi,
I'm in holiday in the moment and while using the hotels WiFi i discoverd a big difference regarding the WiFi Signal between my DS7 (HC3.2) and my Desire.
The DS7 fails very often to Connect whilst the Desire is working fine.
How is your experience ?
Is mine defect ?
Klaus
Sent from my HTC Runnymede using XDA App
I am having an identical issue, just received a $179 refurbished T-Mobile 4g Streak 7. Noticed it out of the box it wouldn't pick up signals unless I am standing right next to router. Rooted, installed Honeycomb update, and even unlocked it (using AT&T 3G) typing this reply. Do I have a lemon? This is probably why this unit was originally returned. :-(
On the opposite side of this, I also just received my $179 refurbished T-Mobile 4G Streak, and I have done all of the same as above except for rooting (Upgraded to Honeycomb, Unlocked using AT&T) and my Wifi works perfectly fine.
They tend to be a bit on the weak side for all mobile devices, its just how the all ARM devices are, also with TVs, microwaves, bodies of water etc, they will all interfere with wifi signals

[Q] Is their a way to add 4g to the Moto G 2014?

I was just wondering, as EE is giving our area 4g, ATLAST!!!! If it is possible to add a new modem or somthing, without tearing apart the phone.
No.
Maybe Motorola will release a LTE version like the first Moto G.

Yes. Buy a 4G phone and turn on it's WiFi hotspot feature, then connect the Moto G 2nd gen to it
xD No. I was wondering if there was something like the wireless charging adapters

Hypothetically, you could connect a 4G dongle via USB OTG... It would be an absurd thing to do, but hey...
Any devices that would slide under my cover?

LOL, no. You might need to contact Wayne Enterprises for something bespoke.
I don't think anything like that is yet discovered ,so you will have to either connect to 4G using a adapter or buy another phone that supports 4G

WiFi Signal Strength issues - Urgent help needed

Hi,
I have just purchased a Moto X 2014 (XT1092) from Flipkart. I live in india. Every since I have bought the phone I have noticed that the WiFi strength is far weaker than some of my other phones like Moto G 2014 from Motorola. I find the WiFi signal strength to be about 10 dBm weaker than my Moto G on the same network, same band (2.4 GHz) and the same exact location. The signal sometimes fluctuates. Since the phone is new, I have tried to test the signal on 4.4.4, 5.0 and 5.1; all with the same results.
Can somebody confirm that the problem is with my handset, or is the problem widespread? Use a utility like WiFiAnalyzer from the Play Store to measure. I can get a replacement if my device is faulty. Also, I ordered the device on 3rd July, 2015; while it is marked to be imported in September, 2014; which seems like a far old handset for a hot-selling device. Please do help me urgently because the replacement decision is to be made soon.
Thanks.

Urbane 2 LTE watch bands

I managed to damage one of the bands for my watch. I searched Amazon, but was unable to find a replacement. This watch has the antenna in the bands, so it needs OEM bands. Does anyone know where I can get replacements?

I would say contact LG.
I tried contacting LG, but they wouldn't sell me the bands alone.
