Possible to have led blick when a new GMail is arrived ?
I don't mind the color.
I checked display, light settings, checked all, impossible to have led notification.
I have GMail notification in status bar, no problem with that, i just want the led to work.

:cyclops:For some reason Samsung did not put a notification LED in the device. Seriously.
there is no LED in Note. so.. cant get a physical one,.
There is a no LED app in playstore which shows a small Icon on the screen when you get a notification
there are bLED kernels which makes the soft touch buttons blink when message or call is missed

Which setting? If you're talking about the notifications settings under the e-mail app, that only affects the notifications within the phone itself(i.e. a sound, and the notification center). I'm not familiar with a way of telling the notification light what programs to blink at and what not to.

I have found a way to disable gmail notification light, unfortunately, it disables all other gmail notifications so it's pretty much useless. If you don't care then do the following.
1) Open gmail app
2) Select 3 dot menu button
3) Select Label settings
4) Uncheck Label notifications
Great phone! One thing worries me though:
Using stock android email, I don't get any notifications in the status bar.
For Gmail, the notification for new mail does appear in the status bar OK.
In both cases the LED does not blink when a mail arrives.
I'm pretty sure I've checked all the options for notifications (settings>Apps & notifications>configure notification) as well as all apps allowed to send notifications; and in email settings. Also tried in safe mode, and did a factory reset with no result.
But perhaps I'm missing something?
Anyone else with similar issues?

Factory reset solved email icon - it now appears. But no LED light.
Installed led light app (Phone Light-LED) which seems to be a good workaround so far.

Actually, you can try to reset app preferences next time.

I've found that starting in 7.1.1 on my XC, the LED notifications will blink only for notifications configured for sound. If notification is silent, then no LED. Stupid IMO. Not sure if 8.0 is the same or not.
Anyone facing this issue: Notification showing on status bar but not showing on lockscreen, Even after enabling all the app permissions and also show all notifications on lockscreen.
Tried every setting but still not working.

Yup having the same issue. Infact the notification light doesn't come on at all....I have tried everything checked all settings, permissions. It just comes on when charging or when front cam pops up. Also I don't get sound with some notifications but for some I do.
But the the notification light never works.
Is this for whatsapp? For me, after setting all the permissions, sound, notification badge in statusbar, lockscreen started appearing with sounds.
Light, I haven't noticed yet, as its on the top. Will verify that.

Hey guys, its been 2days, i'm not able to get notification light for any application , tried all settings but still no luck. Please help me if anyone found the solution
The notification light on the pop up camera comes on for me but i dont get any notifications on the lock screen or always on display
Can confirm this bug. The ONLY app that gives me notifications on the lock screen is Snapchat, even though I've explicitly allowed all notifications and their content to show in the lock screen. And for my other messaging apps I've gone to their specific settings to allow this as well. Still nothing. It is really frustrating.
Hi I'm currently using redmi k20 pro running China ROM with MIUI 10.3.16. i noticed with messaging apps such as instagram and line won't show me notifications unless i enable autostart in the app settings. Battery saver has also been turned off. Anybody faced similar problem?
Ok so guys try putting off Adaptive battery in the Battery&Performance setting. I started getting notifications on the lock screen as well as on the ambient display screen after putting it off.
Let me know if it works for you guys.

Have the same problem, i can hear the notification but the led never turn on, only when chargin. Any fix?

Figured out the "no led thing". Change in whatsapp the color from red to white. That was in my case the solution.
