Since MM shows no lags, very responsive

it's fast, but sometimes lag when opening the camera.. and very very very very very lag when using AR Effect

No lags.
Only some camera problems.
Ive read somewhere that it is because the RAM. Need more RAM memory to open the camera faster.
But other than that, z5 is fast.

Since 6.0 it is rather fast for me.

I have lag all over, unless I have just rebooted the phone, which is works fine for a few hours after i reboot, but then after that it heats up, battery drain, etc. my battery lasts maybe 6-8 hours with 1hr SOT.
Not really good

When I buy it in winter with little apps installed, it's very fast, but now It lags alot in summer, easy to over heat, sometimes I really want to brick it ...

I have Z5 for 3 months yet. Before 2 days I imstall latest 224 update and my phone is fast just like that.Everything open in milisecond, swiching from apps is fast.Multitasking are great.Phone can keep up to 1gb in memory.I am very pleased using him.Its a liittle bit faster than Z2 which I also have.

[Q] xperia sp professional reviews vs real life??

So I'm very interested in the xperia so but some of the professional reviews out there have some criticisms that worry me.
The camera I know about and it seems like it's correct from other posts on this sub forum. However I think I can deal with it since I have an actual SLR and my phone is never going to replace that now is it.
However some reviews say that the battery life of this phone is below par. This confuses me because the mAh of this phone is pretty darn high. In particular they say that you'll only be able to play gta3 for example for about three hours. I have no idea if this is a long time or not but the reviewer certainly didn't think so.
Another point that they make is that the phone sometimes stutters and behaves slowly despite high benchmark scores. They suggest that this is because the xperia sp has only 1gb of RAM or that Sony hasn't properly optimised the software.
So do any of these claims hold water? In particular I want to know how the battery life compares to the galaxy s3?
The stuttering may indeed be a software issue so another important consideration for me is whether this phone will have good unofficial support? I guess that's a hard question to answer at the moment though!
Thanks in advance all!
I can't compare against the s3, but compared to my last android the battery life is superb. I haven't had any stuttering at all either. I'm very happy with my sp but it is a big jump up from my ageing LG p500.

I haven't had any stuttering, too.
About the battery life:
When I set the brightness to 50% and activate the auto brightness (in settings) it was about 41 hours. Today I tried the app "yet another auto brightness" (because the auto brightness in settings only adjust +/- 10%). after 14 hours and about 3 hours with active display the battery is at 12 %...

I don't think any phone can play GTA 3 for more than 3 hours, since all phones will overheat and start to lag. Battery life is not an issue.
Those guys don't know what they are talking about. 1 GB of ram is enough. In android, unused ram is wasted ram, and the launcher only requires 40-50 mb of ram.
I am going to bet that you read a review by PhoneArena. Those guys hate Sony phones, but for some reason like the tablets
As for Techradar, they have a campaign on Samsung products, due to them being their sponsor.

However, it's not all plain sailing as there are times when the SP stutters just a bit more than we're comfortable with. Sometimes it would randomly refuse to pop up the keyboard in the Chrome browser or when we tried to use the search box in the App Drawer. There were also little slow downs and pauses that we haven’t seen on other handsets running Jelly Bean, such as when you exit some apps back to the homescreen and it takes a couple of seconds to redraw the icons on the screen. These issues could, of course, be due to the 1GB of Ram that Sony has twinned with the processor, but we think it's more likely that Sony needs to better optimise its launcher and firmware to iron out some bugs
Not true? Exaggerated?
The only thing that I can confirm is, that it takes sometimes 1-2 seconds to redraw the icons on the homescreen after closing some games... I could not find the other reported bugs.

I am a regular player of GTA Vice CIty on my my X SP but when the phone is on Charging and some time after long play game automatically shuts down (around 45 min) and phone heats up.
Few times when i played on Battery it drained around 15-16% of battery in half hour of play.
Considering 2370mAh battery, its backup is not that good (Mediaserver Poblem) backup of s3 is marginally better
and camera is 100 time better in Xperia P (have compared it personally).
I also have problem with KeyBoard not coming up many time in Chrome and other place.
THis is my personal review
Ive had no problems at all with any of the problems mentioned on here its a great device its super fast and stable and ive disabled apps i dont need like facebook maps etc etc so u can debloat on stock so far but obviously u can debloat more with root

Posting from the xperia sp now!!
I haven't noticed any problems with stuttering yet but I notice there is already an update to the firmware. Maybe that fixed some of the issues. I'm on ten percent battery and it's only midday!!! But didn't charge before I turned out on from the box haha.
About 3 or 4 hours with screen on from 54% not terrible!
Maybe the keyboard issue is to do with the Sony keyboard? I'm using Google keyboard and it's all fine so far.
It's quantum leap. I must admit my P500 still charming, and works fine for last three years. Hope my Xperia SP can last even longer

Fast enough for everyday tasks and occasional gaming
Fast, but not sometimes on Nougat with busy EMMC.
Faster for Gaming (Only gaming; loading times... Eh, Snapdragon 625 is faster).
Fingerprint, f*cking fastest. (Works partially with the wet finger, but, is ok).
Slow Shutdown and "Slow" Startup (Meh, iDevices, and Huawei Devices are Slower for this).

i must say, i'd expected more performance, its fast for sure, but i don't see much difference between my X and my old Z1. Could be a custom-rom issue but the X also stutter from time to time on fast scrolling and don't look that fast overall. But i don't tried any GPU heavy games, so i can't tell how it goes there
Have it or 6 months. Since day 1 it's updated to Oreo, must say wasn't expecting that good performance. No hicups, really fluid even when switchingg between apps and using split view with youtube.
I believe that Snap 650 with 1080p screen is an awesome combo.
without problem in performance.

Its fast compare to my old iPhone 6. But it's not so stable compare to my older device.
Its keyboard is a failure, keeps lagging and delay whenever I typed too fast, have to install another keyboard, I know it's quite normal but it really frustrates me

I don't use the pre-installed Swype keyboard. My best is Gboard
Gboard does his job pretty well and I've tried many of other virtual keyboards but none compare to Gboard.
Probably the fastest phone I've ever had. My last phone galaxy s7 is not match for this beast. 10/10!
Lol mine must be bugged or something. The software is so damn glitchy, the phone keeps lagging for 5 secs like every 2-3 minutes. You guys have any problems with the stability?
My Huawei p8lite VS Huawei p10 consumes a lot of ram memory
Just updated to Oreo. Phone still have stutters here and there just like in Nougat. My other phone (sony xz) is much smoother and feels faster.
Yeah, mine too has lag and stuttering all around (apps, app drawer, games - you name it).
I saw that I have the "slow" and old memory type on and it sucks big time, I've bought the phone on pre-order, but never again, it's a ****ty thing Huawei did with this device...

Owned the 5 for a few weeks now. Its slow as hell. stutters when scrolling, just feels laggy for a modern phone. I gave it a 3 as its 'ok' for the money but other wise a 2 compared to anything decent.

Agree. Additional 1 GB ram would be useful. Furthermore, here in Poland you can get better phone for less.
Well, it is not very fast for money, but you are paying extra for build quality and support, which is great IMO.
I agree with @kennyhkw, it's ok for the price range but laggier than I expected it to be
moved recently
I have moved from apple to android recently
I have just been checking the specs of the iphone 6 vs Nokia 5
my nokia 5 is so slow - i thought it was faulty to be honest - I have just run some bench marking tools on it and it is within the realms of what it should be.
It's not a good choice for anyone who is more than a light user, the camera app on oreo is also horrific - trying to slide photo to video or back again is like russian roulette.
so far i'm very disappointed - i'm wondering if dropping it down to 7.2 might improve things ?
owned it for about a month now but can't see me staying with it at present.
I'd score it a generous 2 - it's cheap but I was expecting something solid from nokia, not a porsche with a moped engine.

I love my nokia 5, i've being used it for 3 months, there is no trouble after all and no lag.
oh maybe i used the 3GB ram variant, so it's smooth
This phone isn't the fastest. About 30% of the time there are delays between tapping something and an action occurring. But it's performance isn't a laggy mess or anything. It's actually pretty good. It's not incredibly snappy but gaming, editing and pretty much every task runs well without any lag. The camera takes a second or so to open up though.
Honestly it's pretty slow overall, I'm pretty disappointed. Sometimes it seems like it's almost ok, but sometimes it can really become painfully sluggish.
Lags when unlocking with fingerprint, but otherwise quite snappy. Lag is hardly noticeable and once it happens once, it wont happen for a while after. this is for the 2gb variant
8/10

No complaints is this area. Surprisingly fast!
Overly smooth for now, no lag at all when switching apps (except in-app lag which often is a bug from the app developer), all of them are kept in RAM and I still have 1.5-2GB spare for peak needs. I don't play heavy games, though. Mostly social medias, cameras (yes, I have more than 1 camera app), browsers and online shopping apps.
smooth and no lags..
what have more?
Extremely fast even on miui stock rom
