I am using Kodi 16.1 and SPMC and have used Exodus, Genisis, Phoenix, One Channel and others, all flawlessly. I never heard of stream on demand. The mutts nuts and the mutts nuts reloaded error for me.
BTW: I am rooted.

What is SPMC? Stream on Demand in an italian addon for italian channel, sorry XD
How you install the addon? Probably i do something wrong. Sorry for my bad english, i hope you can understand me
Ps. Is helpful the rooting of remix mini?
Pps. i've found SPMC, today i'll try it

Keep us posted. SPMC is a streamiline buikd of Kodi. I am using the latest built on 16.1 I think
Rooting is a bit challenging because of the way it has to be done. Is it beneficial? Well you can delete some bloat and add other apps. I am still tinkering, but you can also break your system. There is no cutom recovery and I am not sure if bootloader is unlocked. I am just learning to mess with android so it is fun.

Oh, good, you're here! I have Jarvis (16.1?) from google play store, see on semperpax your 16.3.0 SPMC. I know you like the Nvidia Shield (should I get it if it's gonna spend most of it's life as a Kodi machine? Oh, and MLB at Bat device, really important as the Mini only gives basic android app while my ancient WD Live Plus box has a richer version with "Skip to inning" and "watch from beginning" on live games and jump forward button for commercial breaks without having to scroll or fast forward just tap button (I hear but not sure the Shield does that too) so get the Shield or not (it's so damn sexy while the Mini and WD are basically doing their jobs and there is no native keyboard with the Shield)?
Back to question: Does SPMC have any advantage for the Mini?
I see on semperpax that abilities are added to Shield and I don't have a fancy sound system, just soundbar (Vizio).
Currently using TDB Wizard Zeus Build. Is that the right one for Mini? Says it's for 2 GB devices. Everything working. But since you build/use the SPMC, gotta believe it's good. And we are talking koying SPMC?
Simple: Is koying/SPMC better on Mini than the Zeus build (or something like it)?
Also, does the Mini main screen being on a lower resolution (so the icons are bigger and easier to click with air mouse) affect the Kodi screen and movies?
The Kodi icons seem to be the same size either way but sometimes seems like HD stream is better when Mini set to 1080x1920 but could be wrong as streams vary so much.
Once again, does the Mini resolution setting affect Kodi?

Did you ever find good reasons for rooting? I've been able to sideload anything I've wanted (though I still wish I was able to move MLB app from WD to Mini (not for me directly but my wife is much happier when she has her baseball, so yeah it's for me, too)).
And lastly, if I give in to the sexiness of the Nvidia Shield, will the remote work wonderfully (wife, remember, baseball, chick tv shows) is there any point in getting the 500 GB model if I have 3 extra 2GB hard drives with a cheapy external reader, not NAS (though I've used none of them since Kodi streams but have thought of setting up PVR function for F1 races)? Oh, and I've seen folks trying to run PIA VPN on Shield (for baseball blackouts), with varying results. Any experience?
Wow, thanks, I've unloaded so many of my little streaming doubts, are you "oncouch" like a therapist?

Rooting allows use of some programs to clean bloat, or rearrange system etc. All not mandatory but I like the freedom. Also using apps2sd pro to move apps to SD card re d . Adblocker and others need root. Some was built for Android not PC so it is smaller and optimized for our hardware.

Who said no flash 10.1 for the slide.

Been a lurker for a while now. This is worthy of my first post. I found a flash 10.1 apk and it works. Not incredibly fast for flash games but it does work. I cant post links but I think you can figure it out.
getandroidstuff.com/2010/06/adobe-flash-101-full-support-for.html
Now I did not make this and don't know who did so use at your own risk. I have only been playing with it for a day and haven't seen any ill effects yet. All I know is it works.
" Android 2.2 comes with the new feature for full flash support. Here how it's work google just integrated a plugin called com.google.android.feature.GOOGLE_PLUGIN. And Flash uses it to embed itself inside browser. So browser in android 2.1 mobile phones does not see plugin. Now if you are owner of Android 2.1 or 2.0 smartphone then download the Adobe Flash 10.1 apk application below and get full flash support for your Android 2.1 or 2.0 mobiles.
BUT!There's another thing inside - a permission called android.webkit.permission.PLUGIN. It is already used by Flash Lite on HTC devices. So this app will replace the lite version of flash and will work with full feature.
Or get it here:

Same here. I have since uninstalled, and I'm back.
The website speaks of this being for 2.1.
No wonder it doesn't work for a froyo rom.
The real question is when can we get flash on cm6 rc1???
I installed flash 10.1 from 4shared and after I tried it, i couldnt stay in the browser for long without it closing right back out.
I uninstalled it and it was fine.

currently the working adobe flash 10.1 release is primarily working only on devices bearing the "snapdragon" ARM processors... so when we're trying to force install this onto our devices it is either crashing, or not even allowing the install.
The flash 10.1 currently doesn't even allow the 1ghz hummingbird... its all a matter of time before a "general" release is going to be available. (i'm assuming)
I believe i've seen it said before and i quote;
"Adobe and Google working together to bring Flash player to a mobile device needs to be considered a "sensitive" port, unwelcome criticism on whether or not it will be necessary or whether this will start a revolution for future devices to follow depends on the ability to have Flash functioning flawlessly on the Android platform"
This means that all those Apple boys & gals who say "flash is pointless" yada yada... can't say "SEE THATS WHY FLASH IS USELESS" (implying that it will not work)
just my 2 pennies worth.

I didn't bother reading that whole post, primarily because I saw that you said that Flash wasn't pointless, but you are slightly incorrect.
The Slide's processor = ARM6
Requirement for Flash 10.1 = ARM7
IQ drop associated with mobile Flash = 72

Notice I said "snapdragon" and not just ARM, also flash in mobile is more of preference rather than necessity... hence the reason it can, or cannot be downloaded even with devices that are able to install it.
(and yes I do understand another reason for 3rd party install is to push updates without the need for a full firmware update)
Myself I personally like the idea of flash operating on a mobile device due to having my work email, which is primarily flash driven being able to access it with my personal phone. Using stock sense 2.1, I was able to do so, with Froyo on slide I'm unable to do so. (so back to the PC for me now)
So, as far as an IQ drop with the association of flash... if you have a mobile piece of software effecting your physical abilities then you really have a true issue, that needs immediate medical attention.
I just want to have the damn option of being able to use it.
is there any way to get the flash from the stock rom onto cm6

I'm pretty sure Flash lite only works for sense
I think the only reason I would ever need full Flash support would be for Robot Unicorn Attack and maybe some physicsgames.net.
I still agree with the number one reason for people to have flash is for them to watch porn. Do not argue about the statment i just said, you and i both know its true.
But with the new info about higher-end phones soon to have divx support in the flash well thats just amazing. Of course without great service your pretty much screwed but say we had great service as well as the opportunity to use this feature wouldn't you take advantage of this at work on break and watch some movies and what not? I sure would.

Hulu will work if we can get 10.1 Froyo, but as of right now idk if we'll see that.
Doesn't Hulu block mobile phones anyway?
I thought they set it up so you have to buy Hulu+ like on the PS3.

They have an android app out thats works on the high end phones, was told it works but never tried it (seeing as i dont have highend phone)
You pervs stop the porn thing, that's probably the reason we don't get full flash!
And flash games?? Are you kidding!!! Don't waste time on those crappy-ass games!
There are many other reasongs why would we want full flash,
Has anyone thought of the streaming tv viewing channels ability! Or streams of radio stations, which some work over flash player 10.1
One could watch Live TV!!!
Think of the real benefits of flash.
Well, stock flash on 2.1 works with many sites with medium/small flash videos, but not Live Streams...
One of the reasongs why I won't flash a Froyo rom, I want Sense and Flash!
Just my opinion

NC taste, thoughts, and bugs

Yesterday I got my NC, I am living in France so have to order it from amazon, takes about 5 days.
1st thing I notice it is much heavier than my sony PRS600, one hand holding is tough for me, for some reasons I need all my handheld dev to be light weight as much as possible, NC is however acceptable.
Screen is great, this is the main reason I pick it, NC doesn't disappoint me, and touch is very sensitive and accurate.
hardware, this isn't much to say, for that price I guess it's a great deal. The issues are buttons and SD slot, no classic android hardware buttons really troubles me after rooting, and which genius come out with that SD slot design?
OS, sort of sucks, don't know it's the 2.1's problem or what, everything is a bit slow and lag, I hope 2.2 will fix them abit like your guys said, I really do.
software: as a ereader it's original softwares work fine, reading is good, pdf is a bit lag, video play back is good, but 720p video can only play smoothy in MP4 format, only problem is my comic books don't works on NC.I guess I need find a good app for this.
So last night I root the NC, using the auto nooter it wasn't hard at all, but there is a strange bug, after I reboot the NC, the Youtube stop working, can't even run it. I do remeber it worked fine just after rooting.
Another thing is some app on my NC have no sounds, sometime they works fine after a reboot, but after a while they always stop making any sounds, the OS sounds are still there, only not works in apps.
Over all I think I am happy with the new toy, gona buy one for my mom too, just wait for I fix the sounds and install Plants vs Zombies for her
Thx for reading this, and sorry for my english.
No android hardware buttons:
- There is an app posted in the nook dev subforum called SoftKeys - works great. It overlays the buttons on the screen.
No comic viewer:
- There's a couple. Search for ACV (Droid Comic Viewer)
Youtube not working:
- Uninstall, then reinstall. Easiest if you have ASTRO file manager or something similar
Audio issues:
- Dunno, haven't encountered the ones you mentioned, so far.
Grats on your new toy!
Where are you getting plants vs zombies? I just looked in the market and its not there. If someone has ripped it from the ipad please post it here I would love to have that game
Just purchased 1 for my wife 2 nights ago. I ended up playing with it too much that she suggested that I go ahead and buy one for myself, so I did. Planning to root it shortly.
I was really looking to get a galaxy tab but after playing with the nook I was pretty satisfied. I just could not justify spending another $300 or so for the tab, considering CES is also around the corner and new products will probably be unveiled. Looking to get a new phone with the $300 I saved. I am using an HD2 on Android at the moment and will wait till after the new year.
The Nook will be used mainly for reading, some surfing, maybe a few movies. Overall, I am happy with the purchase.

my friend use a HTC desire HD, he gives me that game, don't test it myself, cuz NC is my 1st android dev, I wana install it after all the things are done, besides u need 2.2 OS to run it, it's a port from PC.
Maybe its me but I like the SD card slot. I mean its without a doubt not that easy to put it in and take it out but atleast its better than it being completely in the machine and unable to extract if it doesnt eject
as far as youtube... I think its easier using zeam but thats just me XD
hold it
move it to the trash icon
wait for it to say "uninstall"
uninstall
adb over the apk
enjoy
update: I found the sound is off every time NC goes to sleep mode, when it turns on again, show no sounds at all.

I have the same exact problem. I don't think it's an issue with all of them just some. Does this mean it's a hardware problem?

Hands on video of Flash Player 10.2 working on the Xoom / Honeycomb!

For those who haven't received the update yet!
Testing on various sties, south park, cnn, speedtest and yahoo's flash stock chart:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Evj9ryPB_Z8
Playing a bit on my GF's farmville account:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ec4LLbGl4mc
Overall, the experience is pretty good! It's not the same experience that you'd get on a Core i5 laptop, but more like the experience you'd get an Atom machine.
Next step is to read up on overclocking this to 1.5Ghz, anyone done that yet?
That should put us closer to a full desktop internet experience!
No doubt when these mobile cpu's hit 1.5-2.0ghz and Android is at ver 3.2+, we won't have to give up anything to experience the internet on a tablet.
SIDENOTE: So, my 12yr old cousin has an iPad and when we were playing with it, he would always say, "oh, that site doesn't work, I have to wait for them to make an app"-- so, wait...a lot of these apps are just reproductions of these websites but in app form.
Well, that's probably a significant reason why the iPad will always have more apps. It's because you can't access the site in any other way. So, if you take that into consideration, by having Flash Player 10.2 now, we have access to all these websites that DON'T NEED an app version in order to experience their content. So, how many "apps" does that open up for us?
I would say a lot more than 65,000! Okay, I looked it up. We now have access to over 1.4 million apps!
Where's the flash 10.2 apk?????? Please share.
Nevermind, got it.
Thanks guys got it!

Sorry admins, I may have posted this in the wrong forum, maybe you could please move it to general? It was late last night when I found out my Xoom updated and wanted to make this demo right away.
BTW, to get the most out of this, you'll probably want to change your user agent to Desktop

Works pretty well! Used last.fm streaming with no problems. Gotta try some flash games...

Thank you very much for your divine support and suggestion but am not planning to sell it.
I am asking on how to maximize my tab not to gain profit from it. Softwares and application to use since I am already rooted and using overcome rom.
Play with your tab.
Install games and apps.
Lots of stuff to do with your tab.
You can use it for:
i. Playing games
Try Fruit Ninja, it's the only games I have on my tab right now
ii. Entertainment
Try PowerAmp + MusicMatch, you can ideally have the tab play music with lyris displayed.
I don't use it for playing mkv files coz the screen is small, maybe after I get my TV-OUT adapter. Use youtube couple times with it though
iii. Information
Try Pulse News Reader + Boat Browser (It's what I use for the time being)
iv. Social
Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo Messenger, Tapatalk for forum, etc..
v. Office Work
Gmail, Ymail, I use connectbot + hacker's keyboard for server maintenance
vi. Etc2..
Lot's of interesting app in the market. Check the market. Have u try ZenBrush ??
Regards,
Jhon
PS: Hope it leads to u to the right direction
yeah, sorry. Just joking.
I agree with wuf31.
Played Fruit Ninja and Angry Birds.
Use Pulse News for RSS based news, and also BeyondPod to get my favourite podcast.
I also use BS Player to play my video over SMB share. You will find it working very well, no stuttering whatsoever. My video files sit in my linux file share running samba.
Use PocketCould to RDP or VNC to your desktops.
Overcome kernel even support OpenVPN, if you need VPN.

Thank you for the recommendation. Will check BS Player and BeyondPod.
Btw, quick question, do I need to install anything on the Windows side to use RDP or VNC?
PocketCould is just a normal RDP/VNC client.
As long as you can RDP using desktop to your windows, you should be able to use PocketCould.
Same as VNC.
The free version can only have 1 connection profile.
The free one also can't have zoom in and out by pinch.
bear in mind that PocketClould claims they don't support linux as host OS, so your milage may vary. I bought my Pro version and found that out (that it doesn't support x11vnc properly). Strangely few weeks back it started to work properly now. Vaguely remember there was an update from market. Maybe they fix it.
Give the free one a go. I was using it for months before I bought the pro one.
BTW, it also offer to let you use google account to ease connecting to hosts, but I didn't bother to try out.
I just key in IP, username/password as usual.

You can always update to CM9 & try the ICS experience, but it's still in development so not all features are available. Just a bit of fun for you to try if you're up for it. I had a bit of fun experimenting, but I'm not liking the fact that the theme engine isn't fully developed yet, so I think I'll be restoring back to the BOCA client.

Just to share my experience since I started rooting it a month ago
from GB 2.3.3, I flashed to Overcome, then MIUI..didnt like it (lots of issues), back to Overcome, then AOKP ICS rom, now a moment ago just back Overcome
I'll wait for a better looks and fix on AOKP then I will be back to it again. Overcome is stable and since I want to have some themes and tweak on the looks a bit, I installed Go Launcher EX, go locker etc....surf for some wallpapers to have some nice views
For now better just go for themes etc with the current rom or you may limit the installation of apps u wanna use for a long time....try out several roms to see which one u like...
PS-I wonder what's the future for our galaxy tab....esp in terms of a fully working rom..
Thanks for sharing. Im still using overcome since most of the people i asked said its one of the stable custom roms. For the adventurous a like ics for our tab is already out but am still reading on it and dont have the courage to flash my tab again hehehe

Overcome is the most stable ROM for the Tab. BOCA is pretty stable too. I haven't had any issues with MIUI, but I don't like having pages of apps with no app drawer. I do like my widgets & folders, so I will be flashing again sometime this weekend or next week...just not sure what ROM I'm going to use at this point.
With all the flashing & re-flashing I've done on my phone, I've gained some confidence in the whole process and I'm looking forward to applying onto my tab some of the new things I've learned. Modding is quite addicting...lol...I feel the same way I did when I first learned about overclocking & modding computers. Now I'm searching and reading through dev guides and tutorials to learn about ROM & app dev for androids. Mostly going to be learning for the devices I have now, like my Galaxy tab & MT4G. =)
BTW, out of curiosity, which size tab do you have? 7" or 10.1"
I got the 7" when the Galaxy tab first came on the market & T-Mobile had it for $599. Of course, I got some good deals signing up for a 2-year contract, but still paid a pretty penny for 2 phones & the tab. It would've been nice if I didn't lose my Vibrant (free phone, not eligible for insurance =\ ), then I could've had something else to experiment on...lol
Anyway, I'll post back once I get the chance to experiment on the tab more.
Using galaxy tab 7 first generation the model is p1000 though am now itching to try the newer model p6200 but performance wise i think it not really wise to upgrade yet but if ever you want to try it better to go for samsung note

Try using V6 Supercharge and install Beats Audio
If fun means more technical enhancements try these.
V6 Supercharger from Zeppelinrox. Its a script not a zip. Lots of info on the main site but just
1) down load the pdf script all the way at the botton of the page.
2) install busybox open busybox and install the latest version of busybox
3) install ScriptManager
4) run the DPF as root and read all the info in the console as the script runs

Then Tasker app to automate almost any thing on android rooted phones.
If this helps click a the Thank you button if I have one.
Enjoy.

Do you actually need a projector? And a Rasperry PI?
I don't quite understand this I think

It`s like a self made Nexus Q.
The Raspi is essential.
Every Screen would work which has a component or HDMI interface.
I think as long no Miracast or Nexus Q is available ìt`s awesome.

I would be willing to get a Rasperry pi to do it, but could you put a HDMI cable into the rasperry, and then plug that into the TV and do it that way?
Or is the Projector essential also?
THANKS MATE !

Is it really the same as the Nexus Q? My reason for wanting to buy a Nexus Q (which isn't available in the UK), is as a party jukebox music hub, but reading the Android Transformer website, it doesn't seem to do much other than movie streaming...
The closest I have found is PlayMySong Android app.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.playmysong.android&hl=en
However it's in rather a poor state of repair, the dev, a hipster it seems, focusing on Spotify...
Anyone know any alternatives?
What with miracast?

No projector needed. Any display with hdmi would do it too. Even old tv`s would work bacause of the component interface of the raspberry.

No it`s not the same as the Nexus Q. It`s just streaming the screen content from your nexus 7 to a display.

Great thanks bud, currently bidding on a Raspberry Pi as we Speak
why do i need an extra firmware on my N7?
some software for windows/linux would be fine - already have a htpc.
I prefer using the YouTube app on the ps3 control by the nexus 7

You need extra firmware because they are trying to get the lowest latency possible so it just being an app wouldn't do. Although they didn't mention gaming in the youtube demo so I assume in it's first version it isn't capable of that yet.
I'm hoping they (or someone) can make a patch for other roms and I also hope this becomes a common feature for all roms.
Yes this is very similar to miracast and they even said when the miracast spec is finalized, they will modify this to be in spec.
Yes you currently need a raspberry pi, but they might write a linux client down the road. Hopefully other projects start on that, maybe a windows client too.
cant you just twonky your photos/vids onto your tv

Ah ok, thank you!
I talked to the devs a couple months ago when it was only working on the Nexus S. They said you can capture the stream using VLC as well, but it is complicated to set up.
When I get my replacement N7 I'm definitely working on that!

I'm surprised some people are dismissing this. The nexus Q only streams content that you have in google play, it streams nothing from your actual device. Twonky et al stream stuff to a media capable device (e.g ps3) in formats that the receiving device support. Your ps3 can't play that mkv file? Well it's not playing. ps3 doesn't support the subs you have? You're not going to see them. Want to stream a game to your ps3/tv? Not happening.
Think of this more like wireless hdmi. Whatever is on your device you can stream to your large display. It's basically miracast but it's available now. In their earlier demos they demo'd streaming games but I guess/assume they haven't gotten the latency low enough yet.
And as another mentioned, you may be able to stream to a pc with vlc or another player. The main thing is hardware decoding on the pc end for lowest latency. Not sure what decoder chip the pi has but if that was in a pc already, it would make a port easier. So down the road, a pi wouldn't even be needed, not for streaming to a pc hooked up to a large display anyway.
Two things bugged me about the nexus 7: no hdmi and no sdslot. This would solve one of those issues.
Again, I hope this spreads to the other roms and becomes a default option that all of them have.
I was reading more on their website and the current transmit time is around 200 ms which is a little disappointing for games anyway. But another cool featue is it utilizes android beam to stream to another android device.
I have the same functionality with my Galaxy Note 10.1 to my Samsung LED TV... It's a cool feature.
I've already got two Raspberry Pi's... will be looking at this tonight.
See it clears the Nexus 7 but not sure if that is the unlocking of the bootloader (which is already done by me) or also the software. Will look when I get more time.
Got the RPi's for this function originally!
this is cool right now i send youtube/etc from n7 to my rasbpi xbmc using the yatse remote app...
hope they build this into one of the pi xbmc builds...

This cements my decision to buy a Rasp Pi, don't forget to update the firmware to allow official overclocking!

Lastly, does anybody know if it upscales to 1080p, or is limited to the Nexus's default resolution?
It would be interesting if it could upscale to a higher resolution but I kind of doubt it. My understanding is it's basically making a video on the fly of whats on your screen and then decoded on the other end. So I would think it would be 1:1 regarding resolution. However, it would be nice if there was a option to lower resolution to try and lower latency or increase framerate for gaming. Might not hurt the image too much although text might appear more fuzzy. But there may be a performance penalty simply by scaling the source image.
I don't currently have a pi yet but if anyone has tried it let us know how it went.
Oh, and I didn't notice you can already use this with vlc
vlc rtsp://<Asus-Nexus-7-IP-Address>:9000/android.sdp.
Too bad it doesn't transmit sound yet. Hmm, I do wish it was an app but understand why it's built into the rom. Given this was released same day as 4.1.2 I assume this is built on 4.1.1 but I don't see that mentioned on their site.
