HDMI CEC - Remix Mini General

Hello Everyone,
After installing Kodi on the Remix Mini, I noticed that the peripherals menu is greyed out. Which means that I am unable to select HDMI CEC to control the kodi application with the television remote. Any suggestions ?
I have been able to control kodi on same tv set with my PII 2.
Regards

Where is the menu greyed out? I don't remeber a periphreals menu in Kodi or the mini. I have heard the mini has passthru issues.

In (Kodi)XBMC → Settings → System → Input Devices → Peripherals → CEC Adapter
Peripherals is greyed out.

Greyed out in spmc too. Maybe a kernel issue?

[Q] ICS/JB tv out (via 3.5mm to RCA)

I have Galaxy S who's stock rom has tv out option, but I'm using ICS/JB now and those two don't have tv out option in settings (since its pure android, no samsung **** in it). Is there any way to enable tv out by 3.5mm audio, like application or something?
CM10 has a TV Out option under Settings -> Advanced but I can't see if it works because I haven't got the required cable.
I regularly use tv out on CM10 and it works well. Also used it on CM9 beforehand.

[Q] DLNA in settings?

In the Settings "More Settings..." there is a "Nearby devices" item that says "Share your media files via DLNA". So the DLNA abbrev appears, but what the heck can you actually do with it. I have a Samsung TV that supposedly can access DLNA files, but the camera doesn't show up as a device on the TV, nor does the TV show up as a device on the Camera. I'm not really all that hot to use DLNA, but I'm curious what this stuff actually means since it shows up on the Camera. Anyone know how to do anything with these DLNA settings?
OK, New info: I played around with it some more, and found that if I login to the AllShare Play app, then the Nearby Devices settings actually do something (weirdly, the AllShare app doesn't seem to be involved anymore - there aren't any controls in that app I did anything with, just logged in and exited). Now when I turn on the file sharing toggle in Settings, my TV sees the camera and I can look at photos (but I haven't found any video that works yet).
Maybe you can try the "all share cast dongle" accessories .. some friends of mine already tested to some TVs and monitor .. they also tried with some projectors not only with HDMI but also with VGA by buying an converter HDMI-VGA cable ..

Streaming video (using Kodi / XBMC)

From the Oculus forums:
This isn't perfect. It's made for 3D TVs but can work with a little setup.
You will need a controller and some common sense. If you are missing either of these, you should come back when they are both ready.
This howto does not cover adding sources to Kodi. If this is your first time using it, visit http://kodi.wiki/ for more info.
Head over to http://mirrors.xbmc.org/nightlies/android/arm/ and grab the newest build.
Once you install, add any sources or plugins you may want. I believe they have Hulu, Netflix, and some cable TV channels available.
Get familiar with how to use Cardboard apps or enable developer mode.
Get everything how you want it, then open Settings followed by System.
Video Output should be selected and you should see some options for stereoscopic mode.
Make sure you have connected your controller, enable side-by-side mode, and insert the phone into the Gear VR.
Finish any additional setup, such as navigating to Video Calibration and adjusting the view so you can see the entire menu comfortably.
Enjoy your pseudo-VR streaming videos.

I haven't tried this yet, but I did play around with SBS mode in XBMC before and you will have to shrink the view a bit to work with the limited FOV of the headsets.
Can you make kodi default to menu being sbs on first launch?

Not on the first launch, but I'm pretty sure it saves the setting for any launch after that.
From my experience, 7 should be: ...navigating to Video Calibration and adjusting the ratio of height and width to be a square.
XBMC compatible with 3D SBS video? Wonderful
Only trouble is, once any movie starts.. the stereo scope is disabled and I have to repeat the settings....
Any idea?

[Windows] Cast any audio from your PC to your Chromecast

On the releases page of my Github Project you can download a test build to auto-cast your system audio to the Chromecast.
Run app.exe and it'll auto cast your system audio to the first Chromecast it finds!
Try it out, let me know what you think, and how to improve it!
Direct download link
p.s. I also made Videostream.
Thank you
nice one acidhax. how have you been since videostream? i noticed your no longer on that project.
The program works as expected, no issues with installation or use (Win 8.1 x64).
I noticed that the volume level is fairly low when casting to a Chromecast Audio, is there a way to change the volume that's broadcast that I've missed?
Also, would it theoretically be possible to run multiple instances of the app and have them find two separate Chromecast Audio devices, whilst broadcasting at the same time, or would the current setup create two different individual broadcasts, resulting in un-synced playing? No longer necessary as they've released multiroom, however am still curious as to whether there are volume control options.
Thanks!
Hi,
Interesting project! Can you provide support for command-line pipe support? I like to use with "Shairport4w" (http://sourceforge.net/projects/shairport4w/). This program has the option "Redirecting sound" that can launch and external tool that accept data (raw PCM audio) over default input pipe. As this project is based on NodeJS I hope this can be achieved.
What you think?
Troubleshooting Help
Very cool project. Rookie question but I am getting stuck here:

Nice! It's working for me on the new Chromecast. How do you 'stop' the app to get back to the Chromecast backdrop?
Also: Thank you so much for making Videostream - it's hands-down the best app for Chromecast!
