HTC Desire 626s sprint SIMLock removal - Desire 626 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I need a help very badly on my new device that i purchased which is HTC desire 626s and is locked to Sprint. I thought i could buy unlock codes online and get it unlocked. But when i inserted different cellular SIM card, the device did not ask for unlock code and rather threw a message "4G LTE/GSM will not work as SIMLock is enabled. Please contact Customer Service to unlock". Can anyone please please help me here to have this SIMLock unlocked and make the device able to work with any other cellular provider, I know i can reach Sprint to get it unlocked but i just purchased it and i am sureSprint will not do it for newly purchased devices unless its used for 6 months. If anything to be done via device booting or anything please provide me a step by step procedure as i am not a tech geek. Any suggestion is greatly appreciated, thank you in advance.

Hi Pavi4, i searched all the web and the only way to GSM unlock my HTC Desire 626s from Sprint was buying this service. It is supposed to cost 25 or something but i sent a message to the seller and he accepted 20
I hope it works for You too!!

It's safe bro, at least in my experience the unlock was done in one hour. The guy told me that ussualy takes 20-30 minutes but I have a 64 BITS Windows 7 computer and it has a problem with drivers so it took us more time to figure out where the problem was, maybe you can send a message to the seller and ask your questiones. Maybe something has changed since I bought the service. Everything was through ebay so i felt secure about my money

I have a friend who's G1 needs unlocking, Could you tell me which service you used, Either here via PM or email me
You should be able to call HTC directly and get an unlock code from them. When I used to work for T-Mobile, if someone called in who wasn't a customer (and therefore couldn't get a code from us) we would refer them to the manufacturer.

Are you referring to unlocking the carrier, or gaining root access to the phone? If root is what you're going for, check out tutuhoer's link.

However, if you're trying to unlock your carrier (meaning use it with a company other than t-mob) you have to be sure that it is a company that has GSM networks (I know here in the US you can't cross t-mob or at&t with sprint or verizon no matter what codes you have, it's actual phone hardware to my knowledge), but I would recommend contacting HTC, as per my research they have a database of unlocks and can give them out. Also per my research, entering your IMEI anywhere online isn't the smartest thing to do. So, my $.02... get in touch with HTC directly. Worst comes to worst they say no.

I think that that's considered to be the most updated version that t-mobile will give out. From my experience you will have to root and flash if you want the cool new stuff.

Thanks very much for everything ....

once phone is unlocked it is unlocked for good. after you upgrade it and change software that wont matter your phone is still unlocked. so unlock it first (buy a code from ebay or whatever) then come back to xda and search the threads for how to root, upgrade, etc. if you find yourself lost then feel free to ask.
I think htc (not tmobile) has a center in italy...?
If you unlock it its unlocked forever
I unlocked my rogers dream and am still using it on tmobile after transplanting motherboards, switching radios/spls, roms, wiping and everything
I don't know if 3g will work, because those carriers /may/ not use the same band for 3g
Like right now I can only use 2g since rogers has different 3g than tmobile
Ill try to get to a computer to make a tutorial for you
First get into bootloader by turning on the phone while holding the camera button
Then tell me what it says
I'm looking specificaly for the spl/hboot and the radio

It uses micro SD if that's what you're asking for
And oy, but I'm very busy. I don't know if I can write that tutorial right now.
Can someone else help him?
If anything read this: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/HTC_Dream:_Rooting
Be very careful if you decide to follow it.
Before flashing DangerSPL MAKE SURE you have the right radio. Or else you will break it.
Are you still in touch with the friend that gave you the phone? I'm asking because he should be able to get the unlock code from Tmobile free of charge, he just has to ask for it. I had to unlock my G1 and G2 for use in European with EU sIM cards and each time I asked Tmobile gave me the codes to unlock the phones, no charge, no hassles.
As for ROMs I recently installed SuperCSDLvr on my G1 and speed is impressive, had no idea the G1 could move so quickly, it's awesome. If you Google it you'll find a lot of reviews and videos to help you make your decision. I was going to post a link to the TOM download but I can't because I haven't posted enough to prove I'm not a spammer however I'm. happy to email or message it to you.
I hope this helps.

[Q] Sprint HTC One Carrier Unlock

I know there is already one thread "SIM Unlock" went about 40 pages only discussing about Sprint customer service experience and emails on unlock from sprint. below are truths we know so-far ...
1. We all know that sprint is not unlocking the HTC One at present, even if they say it is unlocked that's not true.
2. Sprint HTC One is a world phone supports CDMA and GSM
3. May not support all frequencies of other carriers, but should work on other carriers voice, text and 2g or 3g data.
4. Cricket flashing is successful, you can flash your devices to cricket or MetroPCS
SO Let discuss only progress on unlocking the Sprint HTC One for GSM carriers using software modifications. did one have break through modifying phone.apk ?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the Sprint HTC One even supports the basic frequencies needed for AT&T/T-Mobile in general.

Actually #1 is no longer true. They've since changed their unlocking method and folks, including myself, are now rocking SIM unlocked phones. In fact, I successfully used a T-Mobile SIM in my Sprint-unlocked HTC One (GSM data only and very spotty coverage).
I have a Sprint HTC one which I got to India, but when I insert a SIM here it says SIMLOCK ENABLED.
is there a way to UNLOCK it????
I have already tried to install a couple of Custom ROMs, but couldn't install, instead bricked my device.
I have unbricked my device, but couldn't unlock my Device.
And also my ClockWorkMod says it is Unable to load Cache and also is Unable to load SD Card.
ANY HELP PLEASE...!!!!!

Hi
I was also interested in buying a sprint HTC ONE which i was plaaning to use in India. However, no where I could find a concrete support that HTC one for sprint were being unlocked. As you have already purchased the phone, would you be willing to buy unlock code from internet. Some sites are doing it for $4. I am not sure whether it'll work or not. But I guess after buying this phone, you could take a risk of 4 more i think.
And if it works, could you share with us so that even I can go ahead and buy a sprint HTC One which would be used in India on GSM network.
Thanks

Just call Sprint customer service, follow the menu prompts until you get to the International department and ask them to unlock your phone. If you meet all the requirements they'll put your case in for review and you'll get an email in a day or two saying your phone is unlocked and give you instructions for completing the process (power phone off, insert foreign sim, power back on, update UICC).
It's only supposed to unlock the SIM for international carriers, but mine somehow got unlocked for domestic carriers, too. But that is not the norm that I know of.
If you've paid full price for your phone, they may still try to tell you that you have to wait 40 days. This is BS. Be POLITE but insistent that this is not the case until they give in or escalate you.

I don't understand the number of people from outside the US buying the Sprint version. Why not buy the international version or at least one of the GSM versions from AT&T or T-Mobile? Does India even have CDMA?
Currently on the phone with Sprint now and they are telling me it has to be on my account for 90 days before they can unlocked.

You are lucky. I've talked to Sprint several times claiming that I'm unlocked and have received the same emails confirming the steps that you just mentioned but I'm still getting the Sim Locked enabled message when I insert the foreign Sim card.. I've been with them for years. Every time I call I get a different story from a rep. I'm rooted with stock rom, correct me if I'm wrong but that shouldn't affect in anything right?

If you paid for the phone outright, that shouldn't matter. Tell them so firmly, but politely. Ask for a manager if you have to, or, you could threaten to leave. Also, I find that complaining on twitter can help quite a bit.

I'm not sure I follow. My contract had expired, but I was still on Sprint just doing month to month and they unlocked the phone. At first they were trying to say that the phone had to be active for 40 days, but I assured them that was not the case and pointed out that they had already authorized an unlock under the previous system.

I was stock rooted when I did it. Are you clicking on the UICC Unlock button? Does it say "downloading new profile" or some such? If it still isn't working I'd bring it to a Sprint store and see if they can force it or replace it.

Yes I did what it says on the mail " Turn off device > Insert 3rd party SIM > go to Settings > System updates > UICC unlock. You will receive the update and it should change to GSM Mode." All it says is that it's updating and after finishing I click ok and that's it nothing else happens. The only reason I don't want to take it to the store is because they will tell me that the phone is rooted and they won't touch it and I'll have to unroot it. Any input you'd give me is appreciated.

You must have gotten lucky. International support (both phone and chat) and [email protected] email refuse to unlock my One for the reason that the line it is activated on is not under contract.
Edit: I replied to the [email protected] email saying that I understand that the person who responded doesn't set the policy, but that they should unlock the phone because I own it and otherwise I'll port all four lines out. Unlocked two hours later. Thanks for the update that your line out of contract got unlocked

[Q] Unlocking unactivated HTC First

So I found mint HTC First on eBay, the description says it's not activated and not unlocked.
My question is, can I buy it, export to Europe and unlock it using the hack posted here?
I don't have access to AT&T SIM card and never had AT&T account.
Can an unactivated HTC First be unlocked? Is there a way to bypass activation screen?

things you should know...
1. the htc first uses a micro sim
2. the htc first has almost zero support from developers and is no longer supported by htc or att
3. the htc first is known to be prone to problems during root and flashing of any kind of kernel or rom
4. it does not have removable storage wich makes our jobs a bit harder.
so if you could, go for another device if you simply dont want to have to constantly mess with it (i personally like to do all the flashing and hacking) so if you want to get a good device cheap...dont use ebay...use this: http://www.cellularcountry.com/

I already have nexus 5 for those purposes
This one is for my relative, she wanted a very small device, with ok specs and under $170. I couldn't find anything better.
Thank you for your reply

Alrighty then. Um the first would be a nice device then!
but keep in mind...i dont promise anything. your idea of unlocking it SHOULD work. But if it doesn't idk. If you get it in good condition you could re-sell it.
bam: brand new htc first (mint condition) for 165. I bought mine in "in box" condtion. but it had a bad scratch on it and didnt come with the original stuff. This should be good though and i trust this site better than ebay.

or if you want to save some money. you can buy the first in excelent condition but probably without the box for 140

but basically...im on att and i have a htc first so i could call att for you and try to get an unlock code or ask them if its possible. idk

Yes. Proof is my own phone.
Concerning your second question, I am not sure. I bought mine in mint condition, so it had been unlocked beforehand. But I guess it should work if yiu just put your sim card in the slot abd do the unlock procedure.

[Q] SIM Unlock of a newish Moto X on 4.4.4

Hi All,
So I've been trying, and failing, to purchase a SIM unlock code for my Moto X. I had mine repaired this summer and received a new phone in mid august, so I would assume the build date is relatively recent. Both website's that I have tried (freeunlocks.com and cellunlocker.net) have proven unsucessful so far in generating an unlock code (I've heard a bunch about alternate databases and the like, but 1.5 weeks in and neither site has proven sucessful). As I recieved the phone on 4.4.4, I have not found a way to unlock the BL and get the sim lock off that way. Has anyone else experienced something like this? I'm studying in the UK this year and I would really like to have a smartphone I can use on a network here (without paying the $240+ to AT&T, those sleezebags).
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for reading.
Unlocking the bootloader won't really help you gain Sim unlock.
What device though? There's a sin unlock thread in general you should look at.
And if you want to unlock bootloader, search on Sunshine for moto x. It's $25 and may work. Or the China Middleman. There's a thread in general on that too.
But again, an unlocked bootloader won't help you Sim unlock. Totally different thing.

Oh, AT&T. Yeah, I never heard you could not buy a Sim unlock code for those. But I don't own one, so not an expert on that. ?

Also, I'll ask that your question go in the Q&A section for you. General is not for questions or help. ?

two things you should do.
1. check out the sim unlocking thread in general.
2. check to see if you can unlock your BL through motorola's website that is if you dont have an ATT or verizon phone
This thread shows success unlocking your version...

Yeah normally I would assume one of those websites could generate an unlock code for me, but I've tried two at this point and both a failed to find one. I'm going to try the website from that thread but if that doesn't work, and I just **** outta luck?
Looks that way. Haven't you meet at&t's unlock requirements?

Nope the phone is still on contract. I think I might just give up at this point as cellunlocker, freeunlocks, and swiftunlocks all failed to find a code for my phone .

[Q] sim unlock HTC Desire

HI everyone,
i bought HTC Desire 510 from virgin Mobile US, but i lived in Dubai and want to use his phone here. whenever i put local sim it show invalid sim. is their any way to use local sim card in this phone. Please Senior member and xda devs reply this thread.
thank you
Your phone is locked to Virgin Mobile so your going to have to get it carrier unlocked before you can use any other carrier. You can do this by paying Virgin Mobile to do it or there are various online sources that can unlock it also for a small fee. I'm also not sure about the frequencies that the phone runs on in the USA vs Dubai so it may have issues with that. Good luck.
CDMA htc's are very easy to unlock. Check htc one m8 and m7. But it must be rooted first. So far, no root method has been detailed. So just chill

HTC Desire 510 Virgin USA
Hi there,
I wish to know if you guys would suggest some methods or tweaks that I can use to HTC Desire 510 Virgin Mobile.
This is a no contract phone with Virigin Mobile USA.
I purchased an unlock code from another service provider online. Followed the steps. When I insert another active sim card, it does not prompt me to enter the Unlock Code and the phone keeps saying Invalid Sim.
Would you guys be able to help.

Hello!
I've activated the phone by standart Boostmobile way:
Enable wifi, connect to internet,
found at google the Boostmobile's page for activating new phones,
entered where two codes from phone paper box, enter my info (names, emails, etc), paid minimal possible amount of money (10 usd), received email from BoostMobile
with my new US telephone Boostmobile number and account pin, several codes, including MSL...
After reboot, the phone said that he is activated now, setuped voicemail, installed some updates (all it via WiFi), changes wallpaper...
But now I don't know where MSL enter to.
And I still not sure what my Boostmobile HTC Desire 510 phone have GSM-compatible radio...
I've wrote to Boostmobile support about using MSL and connecting to europian GSM networks, they answered something about - "wait for 11th Februaury 2015, we'll something about unlocking..."
So, now where isn't a solution.

I've found some engineer's menus, where phone asks for MSL codes, and it suites.
For example , # # 3282 #
But I still don't know where is menu for unlocking SIM slot for using with GSM networks.

I have got this phone from US and it is locked on Virgin network.
Rite now i am trying to unlock this phone in India but this is not activated , is there any way I can get MSL code
Getting the MSL Code is fairly easy. Root your phone and download the Get MSL app. Run it and BOOM! you will have your MSL.
Its possible that it doesn't work in the first go. Run the app again and it should work.

This method worked for me http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2239963
please were you able to unlock the HTC 510 via msl and how did you do that? I'm thinking buying this phone for my little sister and was wondering if it can be unlocked. I contacted an unlocking service provider who said if the phone doesn't ask for unlock code, then it's not possible to unlock it. I don't know if this is true.
