Hi every one, this is my first review on xda so if i missed anything or you guys have any other questions id be happy to answer. I received this case for review about 2 weeks ago, it came in a neat box with a magnetic flip so you can see the full case in the package. Every benefit of the case is explained on the box. My first impression when I took it out was that you notice quality right away, yes cases nowadays are made of cheap materials and whatnot but the time and thought spent on designing these and making them better for the average user I bet is substantial. I like how it is somewhat of a hybrid case because the back is hard plastic and the sides are softer but still sturdy tpu. The corners were blown out just enough for drop protection, not too small not too big. I love how the volume and power button are also protected, and the case has its own built in buttons to replace it instead and those will take the damage over time. The buttons feel good, and they have the click when you press which is also nice. Taking a look when the phone is flat, the case protects the camera on the back by having little curved stands on the corners of the case. And it also protects the screen face by overlapping the softer tpu on the bottom and top of the case around the phone. All the cut outs are precision cut, so connecting your usb nicely keeps it tugged in. I bought a cheap single coil wireless charger and it does the job with this case on with no problem. I work as a forklift operator, moving big granite slabs, with having a nice camera on the s6 I am constantly getting off to take pictures of slabs, its also somewhat of a dusty environment at times. The case compliments my work by not being in the way and adding extra grip while holding the phone to take pictures or just using the phone. Its definitely not dust proof but it holds up nicely, I would clean it about once a week to take the phone out and clean the dust back there. Ive only had two other cases for this phone which was a cheap tpu case which was junk and a body glove case which was minimalistic protection compared to this case, it didn't have protection for the volume and power buttons, way more dust would go in, the camera wasn't as protected and neither were the corners of the phone. Another plus with the Roocase is the clear back, you can see how nice our phones back glass still is. All in all, great bang for your buck in my opinion, i rather go for the smaller less protected cases that keep our phones sleek and nice looking than the full fledged otterbox defenders or commuters that give loads of protection but crappy usability and look to the phone, too much protection makes the phone look like a samsung s3 in my opinion and way too bulky to use with one hand. So there it is, my first review, i am very happy with this case and would recommend it to anyone looking for a minimal but still protective and very nice looking case.

Thanks for your first review and it definitely was a good one! I'm personally an S6 Edge user and I feel the same way about my Plexis, though I do a constant switch between this and the Exec Tough, just for the fun factor.

I got the official S7E clear back cover from Ebay and it's the Korean version. On the invoice that came with it it literally says and I quote "This item is premium Korean version, and it is better than regular international version". I have no idea how much merit is there to that claim but I really like the item itself. The non-transparent edge and corners somehow make this case less visually intrusive than other all-transparent cases because it kind of blends in with the design language of the naked phone.
The back has this doted texture to it which is great because with the naked phone, you can appreciate the special metallic finish of the back with all the complex ways it reflects light. But having a plastic over it interferes with that and can make the phone look cheap. But with the dot pattern you give it a new different look that works with the plastic.
The top and bottom of the phone is not covered, which is good because it doesn't interfere with any of the IO ports/ microphone or card slot. I mean there's not much of a chance for you to drop your phone exactly on the edge of a curb with the top/bottom of your phone, so it's really not worth the inconvenience of covering them up.
There are two minor problems though. First is that it's just really difficult to clean both the inside of the case and the back of the phone perfectly, there's always some fibres or dust particles in-between. The dot pattern helps but it's still annoying to see things trapped there.
The perfectly flat portion of the back feels like there's a protector film ontop and you can feel the edge around the edges. I even tried multiple times to like "peel it off" only to find out that there is no film and it's just raised up by like .2mm with sharp edges. I have no idea why.
Great pictures love the review. But these types of cases all have the sharp edge issue. But for those who are after minimalism it's worth the small annoyance. The lip also adds a bit more grip to hold onto.
I said it before, I think it's a bad case. Like it was made in a big hurry.
Smudgy back, shaky laterals, sharp inner cuts
S6 Edge+ had a much better one, not to mention the beautiful glossy cover.........
I don't like that it offers no protection at the top and bottom. It's certainly possible for a phone to land on those edges, and if you're using a case for protection I'd rather protect all the edges. My Spigen Liquid Crystal has large enough openings for the ports that plugging something in isn't an issue, but it still offers some protection.

Seems like Samsung didn't learn anything & made no improvements to this case. I had this case for my S6E and it scratched up too easily & small particles always got stuck between the back of the phone & the case. I threw mine away.

For those of you who also want to stay with clear cases for these gorgeous phones, here's my little contribution after 2 weeks with these two Spigen clear cases I see asked about most.
Note: We first bought a Speck Clear, but it scuffed fast, felt bulky, and didn't have the nice grippiness their opaque Candyshells do. We got the Speck Grip for something to trust out on a horse or Rollercoaster. It's a very grippy, slim tank.
Since then, I've been VERY happy with both my Spigen Neo-hybrid and Ultra-hybrid crystal cases. I'd read reviews obsessively for weeks, so was a little skeptical, but I think @Pilz was correct in assuming they'd fix noted issues after the first batch or so, since mine do not have the issues noted in older reviews.
So, point by point comparisons:
- NEO-hybrid - has metallic colored rim piece
-ULTRA-hybrid - solid, all clear
Drop Protection:
Ultra-hybrid crystal - I feel very confident. It's military grade rated, and we can feel/see why.
Corners and edges are strong & cushioned.
It has more lip on front, and nice, curved "feet" on back corners, so no scuff marks from laying it down, no fear about a fall on front or back. There is space between the back of the case and the phone, adding more protection (and making "watermarks" almost impossible - see below).
Neo-Hybrid Crystal - I wouldn't trust with a bad drop. Not military grade, no air cushion, just "dual layer," which doesn't mean a whole lot, like it does in a Speck.
It has no feet on the soft back, and a little less lip in front.
Grippiness:
Ultra-hybrid - some grippiness in the material on the lips & edges. Buttons and ridge around the back adds some friction
Neo-hybrid - almost none. Good enough grip in hand, but very slippery in your pocket
If any clear, strong material could be as grippy as Speck's rubbery material, they would have used it in their clear case.
Backs (and about watermarking):
Ultra-hybrid - back doesn't touch the phone. It's stiff & flat. So the only water-marking I get is a tiny smidgen after a lot of use or pressure in my purse, touching the AT&T mark, under the camera. With concerted effort, I once got a about a 1" x 1/4" strip there.
Both were easy to pop off with a squeeze to the sides of the case.
Neo-hybrid - has a fine dot matrix on inside of relatively soft, slightly curved back
Buttons:
Ultra-hybrid - Ridged, firmer, prominent, clicky, and nice. The ridges could be smoothed (see below), but I like them for friction in my pocket.
Neo-hybrid - Perfect feel. Almost flush with rim, less firm, clicky.
Fingerprints:
No difference between Ultra or Neo. Neither a problem, although any clear case over black phone is going to show things like crazy. On my silver phone, you have to shine the sun at an angle to see anything. I'm always puffing on and wiping all my cases, regardless, for the feel.

Beauty
Ultra-hybrid - I didn't trust pics, or I would have just bought this one. It's just as nice with the clear, kind of sparkly edges as the Neo is with the metallic rim. It shows off the phone's curved back as well.
No watermarking problem. (See above)
Neo-hybrid - Slightly sleaker beauty. Has the metallic rim, smoother lines, slightly slimmer, flatter buttons. Beautiful.
Dot matrix in back is barely noticeable, but ensures no watermarking or dust, ever.
Miscellaneous observations
Ultra-hybrid:
- Because of the air space between the back and the phone, and no obvious rim around the camera cutout, I was most concerned about dust getting in. So far, none, even from my purse or using it in bed all day on a plush blanket. It seems to be curving from the inside to touch/seal.
- The flat backside has a VERY sharp edge, as though it were unfinished. I wouldn't have been able to use the case another hour if it hadn't been easy to smooth off with my fingernail file.
Neo-hybrid:
- For some people, the decorative rim is somewhat loose and bulges on the sides. Mine doesn't have either problem. Whether that's because I've never separated the rim from the clear case (despite instructions saying to apply them separately), because they did something different, or because I got lucky, who knows. I would not advise separating the two pieces, regardless. The case goes on and off as one just fine without adding that extra stress/stretch to the rim.
Finally, if I had to have only one case of the four I've used for this phone, it would easily be the Ultra-hybrid Crystal.
It has the best combination of great protection and minimalist, clear design.
... But it's nice to have the sweet Neo-hybrid for dress occasions where it's safer than most and probably the most attractive of all.
I have the Speck Clear Candyshell case for my Galaxy S7 Edge. Well I dropped it from about 4 ft yesterday onto the floor and the screen shattered on the left hand side. I am not sure where the military grade protection is, but it didn't hold up for me. Looks like the lips didn't do their job and the entire left edge of the screen hit the floor. :crying:
i have spigen neo clear case and an Artech 21 Jelly Transparent ,both amazing ,but i feel the jelly case is kind of more smooth when you hold it .

Ouch! That's scary to hear. Speck is where I go for the ultimate in protection. Their clear case seems to be a quality anomaly in many respects.

Thanks. They do look very much alike. Do you think either one to be more scratchable than the other? I never put my Neo on its back or in my purse unprotected because I worry about it scuffing.

They both work fine , you can choose Spigen or Artech 21

I was thinking of doing this too. Were you able to smooth it down completely to where it feels totally smooth/round, or did you just take a bit of the sharpness off? And did it look OK?

Yes. You can't see it at all. I left the top edge alone just to compare.
I made it smooth and more rounded, but there's still a palpable rise, unlike the curved back of the phone or the Neo.
I started with lighter strokes, done just in areas I touch most, but as the days want by, got more brave and did all of it thoroughly.
FWIW, I used my diamond dust fingernail file, which is pretty fine even on the "shaping" side. I used that side most. The "finishing" side smoothed slick, but so did just using the case a bit, so it wasn't worth bothering.
On the onyx black phones, the neo hybrid back adds a bit of haze, so I find the ultra hybrid to look quite a bit better to me.
The gap in the back does worry me as some work trips I go on have a ton of dust. You can definitely tell a difference by just taking it in the shower, moisture gets between the back and the case for the ultra hybrid easier.
The neo hybrid also looks and feels larger in all dimensions to me. According to their site, it's depth is slightly larger which adds a bit of protection when setting it down face up or down, but yeah it doesn't have air cushions or claim the mil spec. The neo's texture on the sides feels nice. Also, my Monoprice cables don't fit cleanly in this case, though I can force it in. The ultra hybrid is flexible with the ports

Otterbox SYmmeter Case
This is a great case, I got my galaxy s7 edge alot earlier then I expected to, the phone was scheduled to be released on the 11th but I ended up getting it on the 1st of March!! Now to me this was good and bad, the good I HAVE A NEW PHONE YAY!!!, the bad? well...I have no case.... SO luckily AMAZON was there to rescue me from my issue, I purchased this otterbox case, because in the past I have used Otterbox and not only are the cases good, so is the customer service, great company. This case is very sturdy, and It feels light on the hands which I love, the only complaint I had was that since the case was on so tight, that my screen protector started to peel, other then that however it is a great case and I would highly recommend it
After a few days I purchased a Invisible sheild screen protector, and now the screen protector issue is solved invisible shields quality is amazing it covers the entire phone, I would not recommend buying a knock off screen protector only because it seems that they do not fit the edges on the screen properly. Two Weeks Later
I have to say that I've tried out a few other cases such as caseology spigen ect but I end up coming back to this case because the buttons are easy to press, and it just feels sturdy in the hand. People are complaining that this case messes up their screen protector but the reality is that since the phone has edges it's going to be harder for adhesive to really stick on the surfaces of the screen. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND USING A WET NOT DRY screen protector as I do notice that the dry screen protectors seem to have the edges lift. I still love this case and I really do think it's the best out of the options out there at the moment. I would steer away from the bad reviews as again you pay for quality, you not only get a great case you get a company with an amazing lifetime warranty. It's a win win for you.
If you're familiar with the OtterBox Commuter series for other phones, this case will feel very familiar. It fits very snugly, which I feel gives it great protection. Some have complained that it fits too snug. I did not find this to be the case, but that may be because I put my phone in a case and leave it in. If you plan on constantly taking it out of a case and putting it back in, this case is most likely not for you. It is a dual layer case. The inner layer is a synthetic rubber like material that helps absorb shock, while the outer layer is a hard plastic.
Pros:
-Dual layer protection
-The case keeps the vitals recessed while still giving access to the edge functions and not obscuring the camera.
-Fits very snugly, keeping the phone from ever popping out of the case unintentionally.
-Not very bulky. This allows the phone to easily be put in a pocket and taken out without hanging up on clothing.
-The speaker is exposed, allowing sound quality to not be compromised.
-The covers for the sound jack and micro-USB port protect the ports very well, while still allowing access when needed.
-The buttons on the side have a very tactile responsive feel to them when encompassed properly by the case.
Cons:
-Unlike previous Commuter Series cases, it does not come with a screen protector.
-The sound jack and micro-USB port can be somewhat difficult to access with some cords due to the amount of padding on the case.
-Despite being a pro, the snug fit is also a con as it can cause screen protectors to start to peel up. You have to be very careful when putting the phone into the case when a screen protector is on to ensure it doesn't peel.
Overall, I think this case is great and gives more than adequate protection without adding much bulk to the phone. My biggest gripe is that lack of screen protector being included, as previous Commuter series cases did come with them in the packaging.
In order to get a good fit when putting the phone in this case, I recommend taking the two layers apart first. Insert the phone into the rubbery layer. Make sure that your phone is fully encompassed and not loose. Next, snap the phone with the rubbery layer into the hard case by angling it in from the bottom to the top.

2 The DALLAS LAZER Slim case
The Artech21 Galaxy S7 Edge case fits my phone really well. The edges on the top and bottom are raised to protect the screen when the phone is lying facing down. The edges on the side are made in such a way that it protects the edges of the phone while also giving you easy access to the curved Edge of the S7 Edge phone.
The textured pattern at the back feels soft rubber/plastic and prevents the phone from slipping from your hands. It looks good and does not appear cheap like some other cases. The border is made of plastic and has a metallic look to it. It looks good, however, could be more heavier.
The volume and the lock button are covered by the case's buttons, which are again, pretty good. The buttons and the holes are all at proper places and do not interfere with the charging cable etc.
The camera cutouts are wide enough to avoid any flash related interference in the photos. The hearbeat monitor is also easily accessible from the camera cutout.
It just saved my phone.I slapped it on my Galaxy S7 Edge easily, put it in my pocket. I pulled it out with 2 fingers and mildly aggressively. It went flying from my hip off the stone patio table, off wooden banister, and finally took rest on the tiled front porch. Not 15 seconds in, I had the worst drop of my new phone. At this very moment, this case became locked on my phone. There was not a single scratch, scrape, dent or marks from the terrible fall. Superb protection.
Overall, its a decent case with a decent amount of protection for the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and I would recommend it

UAG ASH CASES
I smashed my Note 5, glove box incident, where my case couldn’t have helped me, so I ended up getting an S7 Edge recently. The first few days that I had the phone I was an absolute mess because I did not have a case for it. I ordered a case from UAG, as they are the cases that I have used in the past for almost everything that I have had. In going through the cases on the market, this is by far the best that I’ve come across, but, it still seems a little weaker than a few of the other UAG cases that I have had in the past.
After getting the phone I went to Best Buy to see what was on the market while I waited for the UAG case to come, nothing really stood out to me as being the perfect solution, as a lot of chases did not seem that durable. Also, my biggest pet peeve with most cases is that they give a bit in the heat, especially the Speck cases which are usually pushed by T-Mobile. UAG has consistently given me a case that doesn’t give when it is hot out, which this one is no exception, and even after leaving my phone in the car a bit, it still did not slip off or become super loose.
The case is durable, but in comparing it to past UAG cases, it is a bit more malleable than the others, which gives me a bit of pause. The back of the case is blue, but also transparent. I’m not sure if it is standard for all S7’s, but the guy at T-Mobile put my bar code information across the back; you can actually see it through the case on a few pictures. The transparency would be one reason why I am giving it four stars, but also the flexibility of the case is another. Granted, this makes it very easy to put the phone into the case.
The case also has ridges, which are good, in that it holds the phone in place, but, if you have a screen protector, one of the things that will happen is that it is very prone to pop it up. If you read a lot of reviews for screen protectors, this is an on-going issue with the S7, and not the UAG case, as almost all of the cases have this feature.
Overall, a touch phone to design for, but certainly the best one that I found for the S7 Edge. The stars are in ranking the UAG case against the other UAG cases I have had, especially for the original Note Edge (steeper edge and only one side), which seemed to be more durable and less transparent.
Also, sorry if my pictures are horrible, my camera (that’s not on my phone) is not the greatest.
Vivid Arkansas Case
The first thing I would like you to know about this case is the fact that the inner section is not removable. It is lightweight, durable and the overall craftsmanship is of great quality. The color is not too loud but is actually very unique and fashionable.
With the inner section being a little more flexible, it allows a more comfortable press to the volume and power button. It’s ergonomically designed structure fits comfortably in the palm of my hands without being uncomfortable or slippery. It contours to the shape of my phone without looking bulky.The case has a snug fit and also provides my phone with great protection.
Accessibility: It has an easy access to all my phone’s ports along with an easily accessible and wide enough cut of to accommodate my phone’s camera. I was able to use all ports and buttons effectively.
Charging capability: it does not affects my phone’s capability of charging successfully with my charging adapter. Another great thing is the fact that it also does not interfere with wireless charging.
Flexibility : Firm and dual layer casing with the inner portion being extremely flexible; however it is easy to install.
Protection: Provides maximum protection with its dual material, it is very strong and sturdy.
Type of case: Day to day, casual, fashionable
Finger print smudges: Not evident
Drop test: phone remained intact and protected
Note: I am as of yet to set up my phone or even insert a sim card or apply a screen protector(phone might appear messy), video is for demonstration purposes only. Duer to the fact that the inner section of the case is kinda hard be sure to put it on from the top down,i realize it applies less stress on the volume and power buttons.
I would recommend this case if you are looking for a convenient way to protect your phone while having a durable case that will go the distance with you. It also makes a great fashion piece while getting you complements. I hope this review was helpful and before I go I will mention that I have received this product in exchange for my honest and unbiased review and based on its performance and functionality it has earned its rating. I love it.

Ergonomics:
The case is very comfortable to hold. It does not feel too slippery in your hand, while at the same time being easy to clean (it does not pick up too much dirt). On the front side of the phone, the edges are raised so that the phone can be placed face down. The raised edges are rounded so that they do not feel uncomfortable when the phone is in use (at your ear).
Appearance:
I really like the design of the case. The plastic border crosses by the camera offering a very nice contrast. This would be more apparent in different colors, but I really like the subtle appearance of the color I chose.
Functionality:
The volume and power button are aligned perfectly. The buttons are very receptive when pushed and the case in no way reduces their use. The cutouts at the bottom of the phone are large enough for many different types of cable.
Conclusion:
This case is a great option for anyone looking for a slim design that will still offer adequate protection for drops. Although the design is a personal choice, I really do like the appearance of this case on my S7 Edge Silver phone. I did receive this product for free in exchange for my honest unbiased review. I rely on other Amazon reviews on a daily basis, and always provide honest feedback (and I think the pictures speak for themselves).

No Hiding , Show Off your phone Clear Case
The first thing I love and appreciate about this case is the fact that it has a dual layer which provides flexibility and is completely removable. I find this to be of much convenience where I typically remove the outer section of the case first and apply the inner layer to the phone before adding the outer layer. This provides a much more smoother installation without having too much pressure being applied to the volume control and power button. By following the instructions in the user manual also works effectively.
As it pertains to fit and structure of this case it is very slim lightweight durable and the overall craftsmanship is of great quality. It has a snug fit and all the ports were easily accessible including my camera, microphone, charging port, volume control button, power button and heart rate monitor. What I love the most about this case other than its overall protection is the fact that it also supports wireless charging.
Features of this particular case include:

ordered the Obliq Slim Meta (No, not "Metal", they're tying to be very "meta' about the whole thing) from Amazon. I messed up and ordered the gray titanium instead of the silver, then re-ordered the silver. So before I sent the gray one back, I thought I'd snap some pics to share, along with my thoughts.
Basically I'm really happy with the case. It offers decent protection but doesn't add too much bulk, the top and bottom of the case elevate the screen off of any flat surfaces, and the sides have enough width to them that it has solved the problem of accidental side taps.
The case is a two-piece deal with a hard metallic-looking plastic shell over a softer rubber cover. The rubber cover extends beyond the hard shell in certain places. The silver is a great match for my silver S7E, although the gray didn't look too bad either.
Grip is greatly improved with a little bit of texture on the back, and the case fits well. The buttons work great, I'm able to attach headphones and a USB cable though the cut-outs, and wireless charging works with a Nokia DT-900.
Overall it's well-,made case that looks and feels great and offers about as much protection as you can get short something really big like an Otterbox.
Speck Candygrip Case
Before ordering I thought it was quite a nice looking case but I was afraid the rubber ribbing on the case was a gimmick. It seems that the majority of products these days are full of gimmicks. Upon receiving the case I've been pleasantly surprised. It's really everything that I want from a case. I like it even more than my last case that was made by Tech21 Impactology.
The case has a hard plastic outer shell. Because it's a very glossy plastic material it is very prone to receiving scratches. My case already came pre-scratched at the very top and very bottom. I suspect this was from rubbing against the product packaging. I'm curious to see how long it will take until the case is scratched up enough to start bothering me. Time will tell. However the glossy black with the gray ribbing looks beautiful. It is truly a great looking case and would not look out of place anywhere. Inside the plastic there is an extremely thin coating of silicone on everything. This probably makes it grip your phone to prevent it from falling out. There are also silicone lips on the front top and bottom allowing you to place the phone face down without risking scratches to the screen.
I'm not going to drop test my own phone to find out. But I feel that this case give very acceptable durability to a phone that is naturally more prone to damage than others. The s7 edge screen is great looking but I believe the design also increases your chances for damage. This is a well designed case and it gives you complete coverage to all areas of the phone. The small lip on the top and bottom follow the curve of the screen allowing the case to provide protection to flat drops of the screen as well as drops to the edge of the screen. I am confident that this case provides as good or better protection as any other case that is the same style and thickness. I've seen poorly designed cases. They're all over. This is not one of them.
The case feels great in your hand. I really hate the feel of the s7 edge without a case. It's the most slippery phone I've ever felt and the narrow edge gives you less to hold on to. With this case I no longer feel like the phone is going to slip out of my hand at any minute. The soft silicone ribs on the edges grant a firm grip to the edges finally. Trying to hold on to the phone by the edges before the case made for nervous moments.
The fit of the case is perfect. You slip either top or bottom in first then push on the opposite end. It is very easy to both install and remove from your phone. I saw other reviews that stated it's difficult to install/remove. The only way I could see having difficulty is if you are trying to put it on side to side instead of top to bottom. Looking at the case it's kind of obvious that it will go on better by starting with either the top or bottom.
All the buttons and port cutouts are dead on. I love the giant opening for the USB and headphone jack. No more taking cases off for large plugs. Very good design here.
I can't say enough good things about this case. Great design leads to great execution. This case is a keeper. The only small complaint is about the packaging providing scuff scratches to the product before getting a chance to unbox it. They were minor but I feel that a new product should always look new. May need a change to the packaging setup.

Something that would be really useful is if you could give us your impression of how slippery each case is. I don't want a slippery case no matter how thick and protective it is. Avoiding drops is better than protecting it after you've dropped it.

The Speck Candyshell Grip will always have the best grip. I've tried well over 100 different cases between my past 3 phones and no case has better grip so far.

The back is soft TPU material right?
I have been using the POETIC Affinity Series. I got the clear one to really show off my gold phone. I seem to always buy their product no matter the phone. Its thin but gives minor drop protection. I would not go bouncing it off a roof. lol
The clear back is not a fingerprint magnet for those that seem to really worry about that.

I really like this case. It's sleek and looks nice.
Pros
1. Phone fits snugly
2. Raised lips at top and bottom for extra protection
3. Look good
4. Holds up to 3 cards and easy to open
5. Buttons line up perfectly.
6. Double lining case for extra protection
Cons
1. Screen protector doesn't stay on due to tight fittings. (Solution: file down edges with file or scissors)
2. Card slot is very tight
3. Compared to my Onway case, this feels cheaper and more malleable.
4. Card slot could be a tad bigger.
Overall, it's a very nice case and I highly recommend it especially for someone who doesn't like carrying their wallet.
SGM Rugged Case Review
First the pros. There is nothing safer for your phone than this case. It isn't going anywhere. Even trying to open it back up after enclosing it is very difficult.One review said that the covers that cover your earphone port and charging port were unnecessary, I disagree, although they could be a nuisance, I didn't find them to be a problem, and they help keep out dirt and other debris. I also did not find the case to be "too much". It wasn't too bulky or goddy (which I hate). the S7 is bigger and heavier and I actually found peace of mind with it in this case because I am almost positive that when it drops, it's doomed.
But there are cons. The front screen protector sweats (yeah, I thought that weird also). Also it doesn't register your finger press all the time or very well. It would miss keys, press the wrong ones, or if there was a scratch on it lose that key all together. Sometimes the volume keys were harder to press. Earlier I said that the port covers didn't bother me and I understood why they were there, the volume and power keys, I don't. They are completely covered and difficult to press at times, and again you could think you locked your phone, but it didn't and welcome to butt dialing all over again. The most annoying part though was that you were not going to be pulling down the menu from the top ever! There are features on the S7 that make this less necessary, but you better never need to do it because I had to give up trying.
All in all, I might have given this a 4, if the screen was thinner and if I didn't have to have body builder hands to use it. It's a good a case, and some people might enjoy it. I know I felt my phone was safe, that's for sure. Some people are even willing to give some usage up for safety. I am not one of those people.
As someone that owns a ton of cases for all of my phones I disagree about the Otterbox Symmetry case. The buttons are nothing short of awful to press and require so much force the case physically moves inward with each press. It was bad enough that I retuned the case which is not somthing I do unless there's a serious flaw with the design. The same issue also persists in the Otterbox Strada case that I own which would be a great case I'd the buttons didn't require an unreasonable amount of force to push.

I’ve just received a load of Samsung Galaxy Note 8 cases and I figured that I would do a roundup of my favourites considering the Note 8 release is just around the corner! Please add any cases to this post that you also like the look of or have received in advance of the Note 8 release! All of these photos were taken with the OnePlus 5 which I thought did a pretty good job - that might be for another post though

2. Ringke Air Prism - I thought I’d add something a bit different for number 2 and maybe a little more fashionable (I know absolutely nothing about fashion!). This case is all about the looks with it’s glittery, kaleidoscope style, it really catches your eye! It fits the phone snugly and otherwise feels like any other premium TPU case - so soft to the touch, light and durable.
3. Olixar X-Tome Book Case - I know a lot of people enjoy leather wallet cases so I thought that I’d add this one as it has an interesting look to it… It essentially looks like a book if you couldn’t already tell, which I thought was pretty cool. This case feels premium with its leather finish and has card pockets on the inside and also opens out to let you stand the phone landscape and watch movies. So if you have an empty space on your bookshelf… I guess this could fill it… Pretty random thing to have I guess. Anyway this case does the job when it comes to dropping your phone and as it’s a magnetic wallet phone it protects your screen nicely.
4. Ringke Slim Case - I loved this one because it’s nice and easy to take in and out of your pocket, it’s very solid so you feel safe even when dropping your phone and its has pockets to hold your cards - although with android pay I suppose that isn’t entirely necessary anymore… Still a very sleek looking case! (FYI - you have to buy the card holding segment separetly!)
I know I’ve only got two brands on this list but never fear! If I get more cases (I’m hoping for Samsung and Spigen cases) I will add them to this list if I think they’re up to much.

This are really awesome cases.
A few days back, I was looking for a case for my new Samsung Galaxy Note 8. But with plenty of brands available in the market, I got a bit confused on choosing the perfect one for my device. Then I found my solution on amazon. These folks are having an amazing collection of some of the best Galaxy Note 8 cases.

Would you mind sharing a side view shot of the case with the Note 8 in it? I'm wondering about the thickness of the lip. I'm still not sure what rugged case I'll eventually go with. I'm torn between the Tech21 EVO tactical, the UAG Monarch, the Samsung Rugged and the Otterbox Commuter. Definitely would appreciate more feedback on the tactical if you are so inclined to share.

For me, I have always used Piel Frama cases with my previous devices, although they have yet to release cases for Note8, these are the best cases available for smartphone devices in my opinion, though expensive.

I personally love the Spigen Tough Armor cases the most. Had them on my Note 4, short-lived Note 7 and now my Note 8.
I've been using UAG cases for as long as I can remember, I wouldn't even consider something else when there's a UAG available. Best quality, best protection, coolest looks by far.
After the sweet trade in deals, I figure everyone should be keeping their phones in good condition. I used to go naked, but now a case seems worth the minimal investment. Here are some from my S7Edge and Note 8...
(Quick edit: All these cases were compatible with every wireless charger I own, and none of those chargers were particularly high end.)
Spigen Thin Armor (S7Edge)
- Nice dual layer setup.
- Outer shell scuffed relatively easily, showing the white inner plastic.
- More slippery hard shell than I would have liked, though not terrible by any means. Problem made worse by the slight bow in case, so just the slippery, hard section makes contact with the surface.
- There was a decent lip.
- Not too bulky, but a good, dense feeling.
- Kick stand was a joke. Flimsy plastic that could easily pop off, failed to hold the phone up, and wore down after a couple months. Also detracts from the clean look by being a different color and sporting a massive branding label.
- Good button responsiveness.
- Good camera protection.
- - Overall: Good overall quality and great compromise between size and protection, but questionable longevity and middle of the road looks.
Generic clear soft flexible (TPU) cases (S7Edge, 3 different brands)
- They all discolor, though it is most noticeable along the edges, presumably because you're looking through more material in those areas.
- Fine for backup or limited use.
- Looked bad.
- Button areas would become deformed slightly and eventually not line up correctly (on all of them).
- Minimal protection, almost no lip.
- - Overall: Fine for backup or if you need something phone sized for a small project. Otherwise, very underwhelming.
Caseology Legion Series (Note 8)
- Very solid, 2 layer system with quality in line with the Spigen case above.
- Cut outs roomy, except for the headphone cutout, which might be a bit tight (will not fit right angled 3.5 mm plugs). SPen cut out is very well spaced. Speaker cut out is deep, so accidentally completely blocking the sound is almost impossible.
- Adds noticeable bulk, especially to the sides. Makes it look like a few mm of bezel around the screen.
- Generous lip, with raised edges on the back as well. The edges are from the softer part, to the phone doesn't slide when set down on a slightly angled surface.
- Good camera protection, but glossy material is hard to distinguish from the fingerprint sensor. Also, unlike some cases, which have an asymmetrical camera area that's supposed to help you feel the sensor, the camera area is symmetrical.
- Appearance is very clean, angled, and monolithic. No busy patterns and compliments the phone nicely. And tiny, tiny branding icon that doesn't diminish the looks.
- Buttons a little stiffer than other cases, which can be a good thing (yet to accidentally push any).
- Worthwhile mod: Drill or cut out a little of the headphone jack area.
- Possible 2nd mod: Patch the speaker area with Sugru and carve out a front facing sound notch, so that sound if reflected forward.
- - Overall: This case is more on the 'protection side' than the 'slim side' of the scale, but it still looks good. It's bulkier than the Spigen (based on the S7E version), but offers better protection, especially around the edges. I don't like the bulk it adds for everyday use, but it would be my go to for longer trips, like relaxing vacations. Probably NOT rugged enough for more adventurous hikes, but not too far off if you added front protection. Definitely provides peace of mind and won't look out of place in a more formal scene.
Ringke Fusion clear, black edge TPU (Note 8)
- A little more firm than the super cheap TPU cases I had on the S7E.
- For TPU, the more firm, the more slippery, definitely the case here. It's smooooooth (which also means fingerprints galore).
- The colored edge will diminish any yellowing, which I have noticed none of. I've had it out on a desk next to the window, so plenty of sun for the last 2.5 weeks.
- Cut out are all accurate and roomy.
- Surprisingly good top and bottom lips.
- Much thinner sides, feel like they may deform over time/with use.
- Just the addition of that black coloring on the edge makes it a night and day difference from the soft TPU cases I had on the S7E. Also, no branding.
- So thin that it actually looks like part of the phone.
- Possible mod: Might sandpaper the outside surface to add a frosted effect and some grip.
- - Overall: If you like the way the phone looks without a case, this is probably as close as you can get. But, the protection is pretty minimal. Fine for basic protection.
I have the Poetic Nubuck and YFWOOD real wood case coming in the next 2 weeks, so I'll update this soon..

I think it would. The lip is right on the border of being attention-grabbing big, so any bigger and you should be looking at a case marketed primarily for ruggedness (military specced, 'rugged' in the name, etc.). I looked for cases, and screen protectors for a long while, and I ended up getting a Zizo Bolt because it came with the case, and a screen protector on sale for $18 with free shipping. I haven't really seen a lot about the case, or screen protector, but I bit the bullet, and got it anyways. The biggest complaint everyone has with the car is the buttons are stiff. I agree, but you can still press them as long as you give it more strength and an under fed toddler. I can even do the power button double tap to get to the camera without issues. As for the screen protector, the installation was very simple, the glass is very responsive and smooth, and I can use the phone as if there is no screen protector. The only issue is it collects fingerprints like they're going out of style. However, I can wipe the screen a few times with little effort with my shirt, and no more fingerprints. I was wondering if anyone else has used the Zizo Bolt before, and how well you like(d) it. I do miss my UAG case, but I was trying to keep the cost as low as possible for the screen protector, and case. This was the best deal in my opinion.

Personally, I love the Spigen Liquid Crystal cases - doesn't detract from the design of the phone, slim, pliable, protected my S7 for the last nearly-2 years, and now protecting my Note 8. Leaves plenty of space for ports and S-Pen, buttons protected but responsive, little lip to protect the screen from drops.
Following up on my last post, got the Poetic Nubuck and YFWOOD real wood cases.
Poetic Nuback (2 card pocket, Note 8)
- Very nice material quality. Top portion has a plush, fabric, alcantara feel. Bottom portion is a soft faux leather, but not that slippery cheap stuff. Internal surface is hard plastic with no cushioning pattern or soft materials.
- Room for 2-3 cards, maybe even a few bills.
- Uses a flat piece of cord/fabric string to remove cards: Inserting card pushes the string down into the pocket, pull the tab on the string to remove the cards. The down side to this is that there's no easy way to tuck the string in if you don't want to add any cards. The pocket is too tight to feed the string in and balling it up adds an annoying lump. This is usually handled with a piece of elastic attached from the inside bottom of the pocket to the string middle, but that is missing here.
- Can wireless charge with the pocket empty (not even going to try with cards in it, since that can't be good for the strips).
- Surprisingly thin, which is nice for a wallet case, but doesn't offer the best protection.
- Very minimal lip/raise-ivity. Placing the phone face down, it will rest on the case lip, but the smallest amount of pressure will cause contact with the tabletop. Will be useless for any drops.
- Buttons are slightly stiffer, and the volume button has been split in 2, instead of a single rocker design.
- Side edges add enough width to the phone to reduce accidental edge touches, but that also means, again, minimal protection.
- Camera area well protected and symmetrical.
- Overall: This case looks and feels nice and would be decent for night out. However, it offers very little protection - more than a skin or ultraslim case, but much less than any other case I've had (including the cheap $5 soft TPU throwaways). The cardholder is nice to have, but annoying to use. All that said, it's still a nice everyday driver case for people that don't usually use cases (don't drop their phones), want basic scratch protection, and something that's stylish without being gaudy.
- Who this is for: You don't like cases, but feel compelled to protect such an expensive device. You're not a klutz, so want something cheap, but unique and premium feeling.
YFWOOD real wood case (Note 8)
- I was looking forward to this case the most, and found it the most disappointing.
- There is a thin piece of dyed balsa wood or compressed wood splinters, that's recessed into a stiff plastic pattern. Or maybe there's a thin sheet wedged between two plastic surfaces. Can't tell. The point is that you won't actually feel wood, and if you did, you'd probably get splinters, judging by how rough it is.
- Feels like a low quality, hard and slippery plastic case.
- Minimal protection, slightly more lip than the Poetic (above), but looser fit, so a direct hit would probably cause the phone to pop out anyways.
- Symmetrical camera protection, good camera protection.
- Super stiff buttons, different texture around buttons, but the Bixby and volume buttons have a continuous texture (no change in texture between them), so you're never sure if you're about to hit the Bixby or volume down button.
-Overall: Just don't buy this case. I thought this would be the 'interesting case' for my phone and it turned out embarrassingly 'meh'. Slippery, no protection (except scratches), cheap feeling, and makes the phone more difficult to use.
- Who this is for: You were going to get a $7 case, but found $5 off coupon and thought you'd get all fancy.
8 probably overspent but I gave in and bought the otter box if I spend g 1000 dollars on a phone j want it protected from drops. I actually think it's a good case. I did ended up modified the case I cut the plugs off where the charging port and headphone jack is. Don't need a pressure put on the power plugs while charging don't want future problems with charging port
