First, is written "kernel" no "kernal"
Second, Samsung provides by default the kernel 3.0.31 (Team Canjica updated to 3.0.101) is possible upgrade to 3.1 but there is no dev willing to continue the project
We should have by default the kernel 3.4 (The original sources of STE tells us that our version is 3.4)
I think it should be grateful for what has

[KERNEL] Overclocking 1.2.6/1.5.7! SetCPU support!

unknown and I got overclocking working in the regular 1.2.6/1.5.7 kernel. This does seem to fully work with SetCPU. Wifi and sound still work. This is only a 1.1ghz overclock for safety. With the patch you can do more. Note, don't change the frequency it boots at from 1ghz. The original patch made it 1.1ghz, and it failed to boot for us.
This work is almost a straight port of faux123's code from the G2X. His work is based on others' earlier work. unknown got the final idea that made it work from looking at kholk's source.
Kernel
Ramdisk
Kernel source
Patch
Kernel config
Instructions:
1. Download kernel and ramdisk
2. Connect phone to PC via USB cable.
3. Boot phone into fastboot mode. Vol down and then vol up during early boot.
4. Run fastboot flash:raw zImage ramdisk.gz
Thanks unknown!
Thanks faux123!
Thanks kholk!
This is the secks!
This is why is important to share source, this is why devs that play nice, get the work done!
awesome.. Though I don't think i'll go back to froyo, this should still show how far the processors powers can be pushed! (here's to hoping for 1.8Ghz stable :> lolol)
Is this a complete own kernel on its own? And if so what kind of optimization is in it

Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at higgs.cygnusx-1.org.
I appreciate your work guys, but the only ones willing to go through and install a custom kernel IMO are already using 1.8.3 or 2.3.4

Outstanding, thank you!
Very nice work, Edgan. Can't wait to get hands on the 2.3.4 kernel source once the OTA hits..

Not sure what you mean. This is the original Motorola/AT&T US 1.2.6 kernel source, with the kernel configuration file from 1.5.7, and the overclocking patch. It has no other optimizations.
This is more of a proof of concept. Since we don't have original source for 1.8.3 or Android 2.3.x releases.
Thanks for the explanation edgan

Great work guys
help
what is the install code
how do you install the patch file
The patch AFAIK is for the kernel sources.
If you need to use the kernel flash the zimage.

Help regarding 'Franco.Kernal' updates for UK SNote please?

Hello Members, i have a UK SNote GT-N7000 and it's running ICS 4.0.3, it's also using the 'franco.kernal r5'.
The kernal was installed during a procedure i followed from RootGalaxynote.com on rooting ICS SNote without needing a computer to do it, (just running CW recovery.zip, then using it to installed files for superuser, then installing franco kernal r5)
What i've found is that there are updates of franco kernal form version R6 right upto R12 through web searching,, and searching this forum, do these updates apply to my UK SNote and if they do, should or can they be installed using the same method as i did when following the Rootgalaxynote video tutorial.
I know there is a Franco Kernal Updater on the Google Play market, and another one from the same developer specific to SNote, but this app hasn't been updated for a while or so the reveiws point out, anyway i'd rather not run any additional sofware just to update the kernal if it can be done in the same way as it was originally .
Any help from members, and any links to the correct franco.kernal version download for my SNote would also be a great help.
kind regards
Livio

That's an SGS3 kernel!
As far as I'm aware Franco doesn't support the Note anymore.

Thanks Members, but I feel I'm still a bit confused so bear with me please.
So far my understanding from your replies is that the Franco. Kernal r6 is the last version supporting the SNote, but there are millions who have the phone and have installed franco's Kernal thinking that when Samsung issues the UK official ICS 4.0.4 update, and possibly Jelly bean's 4.1 in GNote's future, that surely the Kernal will need tweaking and have bugs working with these upcoming updates.
This is a real let down..... Franco, if your reading this please change your mind, and continue to monitor your Kernal for the SNote, after all, what will happen next when the SNote 2 comes out, we he drop SGS3 support, The SNote 2's only round the corner.
The other point I was confused about was needing to install 'mobile odin' if I was going to update to version r6. As I mentioned in my original post I didn't need to install any software to install Franco. Kernal r5 other than using CW mod recovery, the video instructions I followed (link below)
rootgalaxynote(dot)com/galaxy-note-root/how-to-root-ics-on-galaxy-note-gt-n7000-no-computer-required/
Also, if I wanted to download Franco.kernal r6, could I use the file copy from the same 'downloadandroidrom.com website described in the video tutorial above (address below)
downloadandroidrom(dot)com/file/GalaxyNote/kernels/FrancoICS
Regards
I saw the video (no computer required root), you want to use the same matodo francokernel to update, simply download the zip file and flash CWM recovery!

Thanks devid801 for the help, and link to franco's thread.
I'll give it a go later today using the same install method, hopefully I won't 'brick' the phone doing it, I'll post back whatever the result.

Hi devid801, I followed what I did before and think the Kernal has been successfully updated, but can't be sure, if it has then the Kernal version of the phone now reads.....
3.0.15 - Franco. Kernal
Francisco @ Francisco #6
SMP PREEMPT WED JUN 13 01:13:24 WEST 2012
..... Is the '#6' part above the indication that it is now version 6 (I know it may seem obvious to others, but I don't know for sure)
At the moment the phone running well, so a confirmation from you, or another member would be great.

Im facing similar problem, I want to try a VPN connection with the built in VPN, and need to provide RSA Certificates and Keys (I already have the files) where do i need to store them?
On other hand, O tried the TUN.ko modules from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1547348 and OpenVPN with no luck.
Any ideas how to load the modules, or where to finde a tun.ko that is compatible with V30B (with your kernel, im using Nemesis #1 by rrgrrg)
Thanks!

Kernel modules need to be compiled specifically for every kernel.
There is a install certificates from sd somewhere. (or at least there was in GB)

Hi
Of course Kowalski Manager can't be opened, since you don't run the Kowalski Kernel on your phone (as the program "printed"). This kernel is not the Kowalski Kernel. You'd have to install KK to make Kowalski Manager to work.

[Mod]-[Custom]Kali Nethunter 1.21

Hey hii all, how are you .. This is a thread dedicated to Kali linux Nethunter which is available for our Nexus 5 .. Thanks to offensive security for providing kali linux for our phons ..
Download - https://www.offensive-security.com/kali-linux-nethunter-download/
So after flashing latest Nethunter image on most roms, nethunter tend to break all roms, so i found a workaround here that will work on any rom, and you will be able to use that with no problems ...Thanks to @DragonHunt3r for providing such a great workaround and an equally great pwnkernel
Open up the NetHunter zip, and go to META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script
Go to line 101 or where "package_extract_file("boot.img", "/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/boot");"
Remove that line and save the zip and flash it, and after that flash PwnKernel
Any questions and discussions ..please feel free to use this thread ..
