[Q] Black Screen after boot animation

Hi,
I have a moto g 2014 xt1068 stuck at a black screen just after the motorola boot animation.
The beginning:
It all started because one guy started messing with the phone, unlocked it's bootloader and installed some custom roms. As the guy told me, the phone run out of juice while "configuring the android apps" phase and after charging it got stuck after the boot animation ever since.
What i tried to fix the phone:
First i tried to install multiple stock roms, from for example windows-tool-moto-g-2014-xt1064-restore.
I did it in osx and adapted the bash script, following every command. It always worked perfectly while flashing but after restarting i got the same result every time - black screen after boot animation.
One example of my flashing script
Code:
#!/bin/sh
mfastboot flash partition gpt.bin
mfastboot flash motoboot motoboot.img
mfastboot flash logo logo.bin
mfastboot flash boot boot.img
mfastboot flash recovery recovery.img
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.0
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.1
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.2
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.3
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.4
mfastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
mfastboot erase modemst1
mfastboot erase modemst2
mfastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
mfastboot erase cache
mfastboot erase userdata
read -p "Press [Enter] key to reboot..."
mfastboot reboot
echo "Finished!"
Then i tried to install a custom recovery tool:
I picked TWRP and downloaded it from both the official website and this thread. The flashing went smoothly but when i restarted it, got into fastboot, selected the recovery and booted to the recovery it booted into the stock recovery! My flashing didn't made any difference whatsoever.
The commands to flash the twrp img
Code:
$ mfastboot flash recovery TWRP_2.8.0.1_Titan_v2.img
$ mfastboot reboot recovery
Finally someone told me that sometimes some phones can be fixed by unplugging the battery...
I did it as a moment of pure despair and open the phone, unplugged the cable from the board and got everything together again. After trying to flash a stock rom and a custom recovery i got the same results as above.
I really would apreciate some help. Anything i should try? Something i did wrong?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Vinxe
Did you try wiping ur cache and Dalvik-cache?? And when do u see the black screen, after the motorola logo or after the boot animation??

Moto G (2nd) Bricked?

Hi all, this phone is not mine, i don't know what the hell happen on it, but, the only thing i see is the white screen with the motorola logo. If i try to boot in recovery it says "boot up failed" if i try the other options it takes me to the white screen with the Motorola logo.
There's something i can do? .-.
Did to try to flash stock firmware?

I saw que your device has locked bootloader and probably shouldnt be under warranty , I would trigger the guarantee because it seems the boot partition recovery or others are corrupted , you can unlock the bootloader and try to repair the flash rom stock , more is not 100 % sure it will work and you can lose the guarantee doing it ... 1st alternative is the guarantee ... after other methods :highfive::good:
unlock the bootloader and flash stock rom

you waited a few minutes ? type 10 or 20 ? why is this screen a while and then starts ...
i give up after 30 mins...
That's really weird. I searched on the web, but it seems that no one has my problem. If i boot normally i'm stuck with the bootloader warning logo but the recovery works. Now, i want to send it back for guarantee but i can't because the bootloader is unlocked and i can't relock it .-.

Bricked Moto G LTE U.S Version

Hi people, im new to the forum .I need help with my Moto G, in an attempt to upgrade manually to 5.0.1 I messed it up. I have some background in working with androids but not alot.
Phone is this----->[] a m a z o n . com/gp/product/B00K0NRZSW?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00[/url]
Now im stuck on the bootloader , when i select "Normal startup", "recovery", or "factory" I only see the motorola logo... similar to this-----> lh4.googleusercontent .c o m /-2xKsjK42MDY/VNgIcKkofZI/AAAAAAAAGy0/ZRhhzuyieGE/w311-h553-no/bootlogo.png[/url]
To start troubleshooting this i have gone and downloaded what I believe is the orignal img file of what came with this phone originally named like this----> Android 4.4.3 (Retail US) KXB21.14-L1.23-4 CID9"
How do I install this. What program allows me to install this IMG to the phone and get me back up and running.
Any help will do, thanks
Christopher
DON'T FLASH 4.4.4 OR LOWER! You probably installed the Lollipop bootloader in the process. If you downgrade to KitKat, your device WILL DIE because it will try to install the KitKat bootloader, and the security check will hard brick your phone. (and there's no blankflash tool for 5.X bootloader) Flash a 5.0.1 Lollipop firmware or newer for your exact model (ensure it's your model and not another one, if you take of the phone cover the exact model appears in a sticker) and try again using a method described here in XDA, in the exact subforum for your model because some rogue sites just take the tutorials from an older model and change the model and stick it there.
Honestly you should had to just leave it as is and install Cyanogenmod 12/12.1 as the Motorola bootloader can run a version above the bootloader version but NOT BELOW, although this requires to unlock your bootloader, rendering your warranty void.
If the bootloader is still locked and you never unlocked it, you could take it to service center and tell them that you received an update, the phone restarted in the middle of the process and now no longer works as an excuse.
P.D.: The image is broken.
You are SURE you flashed the right stock fw for your phone ( XT-1234 ) ?
How you flashed the fw ?
From the description you gave us looks like you followed an outdated guide and flashed only some parts of system.img_sparsechunk.X, so system image is not complete and looks broken to the phone, other partiotions looks fine since you see the logo bootloader etc
Just reflash the fw like that
mfastboot flash partition gpt.bin
mfastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img
mfastboot flash logo logo.bin
mfastboot flash boot boot.img
mfastboot flash recovery recovery.img
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.0
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.1
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.2
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.3
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.4
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.5
mfastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
mfastboot erase modemst1
mfastboot erase modemst2
mfastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
mfastboot erase cache
mfastboot erase userdata
mfastboot.exe reboot

Just be sure the phone model is right, if you flashed a wrong bootloader your phone may be an expensive rock :\
Mhhh menaged to open the amazon link, thats looks like a moto g gen1, hope you don't flashed the wrong rom...... since you are in moto g gen2 forums
Snapdragon processors are unbrickable
Hello Fellas!
Looking for in the internet I found an article that has a tool from snadragon fabricant. It's called "QPST, 2.7 /422." found in androidbrick website. Please just google it and I'm really sure that using the stock rom of moto g 2nd is totally possible unbrick the hardbricked phones like mine. I hava a Moto G 2014 2nd generation Xt1078, and after an OTA update itself bricked without any reason by my foult. Led doenst light neighter the screen and it is recognized in my PC as "Qualcomm HS-USB QLoader 9008" after I installed the drivers. Wel I'm not a developer but according to the article in the androidbrick website is possible to give life back to the devices which lost their fastboot mode.
Thanks in advance!

Moto G 2014 LTE ( XT1079 ), How to relock bootloader

I downloaded Android Marshmallow after reading news about it through settings/about/system updates.
After downloading, the phone restarted but updatation was stuck after flashing TWRP screen (error screen photo attached)
My phone is
bootloader unlocked,
recovery TWRP
rooted
ROM is stock.
It seems the OTA update will be completed once I have stock recovery,
I have following queries
Is it necessary to revert to stock recovery to complete OTA update?
If yes, how to achieve it, what i learnt through search, I need to find Stock ROM zips and extract recovery (boot.img) and then flash it through adb?
where to look for thea stock rom and is there any easier method
It's risky, a lot of users here for some reasons got stuck whit locked/unlocked bootloader unable to boot and flash anything.
Here you can find all the motog stock roms http://www.filefactory.com/folder/c6cdedc45a775d27/?sort=created&order=DESC&show=50
You should wait for the complete rom image for your country/model to pop there instead doing that risky thing you want do.
Thanks
Recently stock rom for xt1079 has been added to the list.
But I m trying to download from filefactory since yesterday but due to some reason, it stops in between and resume isn't supported.
Are there any other hosts
Are you sure the region of that xt1079 is right for your phonr ? check the phone box and the info inside settings to know which region/carrier you have, you must use the same identical 100% stock to avoid problems
And, do no relock bootloader !!!
yes i bought this through online retailer in India.
It is xt1079 Asia
I see in xda forum of moto g 2nd gen most of the time ppl are talking about xt1078.
What's the difference between xt1078/1079 and can't I use xt1078 ROM.
Rooting procedure meant for xt1078 worked fine for me
And Sir is relocking bootloader very risky ? suppose something goes wrong wont I be able to unlock or restore nandroid backup.
Thanks to support from Dr.nic I am finally on android 6.0
Although I have relocked my bootloader, but it is recommended to leave as it is.
If anyone stumbles here with same problem like mine i.e. unable to upgrade to android 6.0 just because of custom recovery, then pls download the firmware from filefactory.com link and flash. I'll add flashing commands as well to this post in near future.
if you have already done this rom change etc, the you must already be having fastboot, adb etc.
after connecting in fastboot mode holding VolDown and Power for few secs
run following commands
[this is for android 6.0 firmware]
fastboot flash partition gpt.bin
fastboot flash motoboot motoboot.img
fastboot flash logo logo.bin
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.0
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.1
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.2
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.3
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.4
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.5
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot reboot
I am not great expert, do this only if you have some idea, I may not be able to help you much if something goes wrong.
I can only say it worked for me

Moto x1068 phone boots saying bootload is unlocked but boot loader screen say it lock

Hi I hope someone can help with this. I have a moto x1068 duel sim phone that was not booting it would only get as far as the moto logo.
I flashed some moto phones before just not this model.
I unlocked the boot loader with code.
Then tried to flash the phone it went okay but I still would not boot. Using 5.0.2
I have repaired some phone in the past by down flashing them so I down flashed the phone to 4.4.4. and it worked the phone booted works 100% but when I tried to lock the bootload it say the boot image as downgraded and not valid so it would not lock it.
I then tried the same files before of 5.0.2 and they worked phone is fully working.
I relocked the bootload and in the boot loader screen is say it is locked code 2
But when I power the phone on, I still the red writing screen say the bootloader is unlocked.
On other phones I have do after I have locked the bootload the warning disappears.
These are the commands I used to try and lock the phone
mfastboot.exe oem lock begin
mfastboot flash logo logo.bin
mfastboot flash boot boot.img
mfastboot flash recovery recovery.img
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.0
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.1
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.2
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.3
mfastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
mfastboot erase modemst1
mfastboot erase modemst2
mfastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
mfastboot erase cache
mfastboot erase userdata
mfastboot oem lock
mfastboot reboot
Then give no error art all.
Now can I fix this please?
It is just how it is...Did you just manually entered those commands or used the easy installer

Once you unlock the bootloader the startscreen appears with "Bootloader Unlocked", even when you "relock".
It is a normal behavior
You can't do anything to relock the bootloader before the first unlock. But you can flash a modified logo.bin from the xda forum without the unlock message.
On other phones it is maybe how you described, but not with the Moto G2.
Status Code explanations:
Status Code 0: "Untouched", Never unlocked, factory status
Status Code 2: Relocked after Unlock
Status Code 3: Unlocked
