Yeah they posted about it here, but no real explanation. Guessing they didn't pass Google's compatibility test suite.

JIDE Is Removing Google Apps From Remix Mini In New Remix OS Update [Update]
JIDE has confirmed that Google is responsible for the removal of Google apps. Traditional tablet devices that ship with Remix OS can still have GMS, but there were issues with the Mini's implementation. Google asked the company to remove GMS until those issues were addressed.

Still can install it all back, at least I did. It seems they just can't ship it.

[SOLVED] Google Play Service

Hey guys, just wanna ask, what is Google Play Service, it just installed itself after rebooting my phone. What does it do? I checked it on the Play Store but all the reviews' talking about a game, I can't even open it and it's not on my drawer. Can someone please explain? Thanks
Google developers said:
Google Play services is a platform delivered by the Google Play Store that offers integration with Google products, such as Google+, in Android apps. The Google Play services platform consists of a services component that runs on the device and a thin client library that you package with your app.

So basically, it's a component to let apps access your google+ easily.

So what's with the reviews? They're talking about a game.

Well, I have no idea why they are talking like as if it's a game with levels or something... But the description of the app clearly states:
Google Play services - Google services for Android apps
Google Play services lets Android apps from the Google Play Store integrate with Google+ and Google Accounts. To work correctly, some apps may require Google Play services to be present and up to date.
Google Play services is usually updated automatically on Android devices. You can also install or update it manually from the Google Play Store.

So, idk why they're all spouting nonsense about that.
I guess Google Play Service is responsible for making fast updates to installed apps. Now you don't need to download the whole app again in order to update. It just takes only the updated part and not whole app. This is especially helpful when updating big games. Anyways its just my assumption, though I'm not sure about it.

paid apps not working

I have my ouya rooted. I downloaded an app called usb otg helper which works nice mounting all my harddrive in different formats. But the free version wont auto mount only the paid version. I tried using the paid version but I get an error message saying it cant connect to server. Hope theres some trick to get this to work. I just sideloaded the app through es file manager.
If it's an app that was paid for on the play store, the developer can build in drm to authenticate with Google that it's been paid for by the currently logged in Google account. Currently it's not possible to install Google services on the Ouya, you're out of luck till that happens.... Sadly a pirated version of the paid app may have that drm stripped.

I actually thought about not asking this but there's a thread on trying to hack google play store on this so I figured it would be ok.

They're not really "hacking" the play store if you actually read the thread. They are trying to get the play store to work on the ouya so you could use paid apps like the one you asked about here

App data sync between devices?

So I have a nexus 4 and nexus 7 and I heard that with 4.3 the play games app would sync your games between devices is this a lie, something that could be possible, or am I doing something wrong.
I have a ton of apps and the only ones in sync are because of user accounts within the app or their own servers. This would be really nice to have could somebody refer a good third party app for this if stock 4.3 can't do it.

It's not a lie, it's just that the game has to be updated to support Google Play Services.
As for an app to help sync data across devices look at Helium (formerly Carbon). I've used it for game data syncing before.

Google has put the back-end in place to allow developers to sync data between devices seamlessly. The issue is that the developers need to implement it into their apps for it to work.
There are a few who have done so already such as 7x7, Can Knockdown, Quell, Osmos - just to name a few.

I ran it from the play store with no issues. One thing I have is from my wifes Xiaomi phone, there is an app called Google Installer, it allows you to install all the google related framworks as apps. You could try that. Apk is attached. Don't know i it will work. Its designed to install Google services on phones that do not have it preinstalled. Give it a whirl and let me know if it works.
