how to disable fast charging - X 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

a friend gave me a Samsung turbocharger dual voltage: 5V and 9V
how can I do to disable this function on my moto x xt1092 and use it as a normal charger ?? as soon as I connect it to the phone immediately became fast charging, without the possibility to deactivate it and use that normal

I do not want to sound like a d**k but... why the hell would you like to disable this marvelous function?
I guess it is not possible!

how to enable and disable fast charging mode on SM-N9208

please help me
I can't find fast charging on/off on my N5 sm-n9208.
accessories features setting also lost on setting .
user manual guide include accessories features but my N5 lost
I think there is no option for enabling/disabling fast charging in Note5. You are forced to use fast charging.

hi ,
yes , i agree with @TAEL post above
i also found no option to "change " fast charging ...but ........
I had a experience where my fast charging just stopped "?"
I took/swopped my cable/ power cord with my old Note4 cable and fast charging was back again ! Also you can change charger plugs around ( eg Adaptive fast charging and a plain Samsung charger plug )
I thought about issue and came to a conclusion ,that surely consistent fast charging, cannot be good for battery and may shorten battery life ???? I now alternate with my 2 x Samsung cables/plugs .If i want fast charging i use my Note 4 cable/plugs (working ), vice versa.
If i want normal charging i use the other cable /plug .
Yes, i know these are a work around,
but surely, it's better than having no option in Note 5 battery settings ,regarding fast charging ??
good luck
As said, N5 no longer has the option to disable fast charging (cable). It does however have the option to disable fast charging for wireless charging. The option will appear once you use a fast wireless charger.
after I test with wireless fast changer I reply
thz
If you don't want to use Fast Charging.... don't use a Fast Charger.... simple. There's no option to disable it, but if you're not using a fast charger, then it won't fast charge.
Why My phone takes too long to charge.
You can find the option to fast/normal charge in the battery section.

USB fast charging (kernel)

Some kernels come with USB fast charging as an option that you can toggle. If you use this, does it shorten the battery health long-term ? I'm not referring to turbo chargers (aftermarket), this is just the kernel setting. I recall reading this awhile ago, but I was curious myself.

all it does is increase the voltage coming in when charging via a USB. USB charging voltage is about a quarter/third that of a wall charger. no, no negative affects.
Not at all, even with USB fast charge on it will draw less power than if it were plugged in a regular wall charger or the turbo charger. There's an app called Ampere you can use to monitor how much power the phone draws while charging (or even discharging) you can use it to see the differences between regular usb, fast charge usb, turbo charge, etc.
Ok, that's good to know. Now I can re-toggle the feature and not worry.:good:
What about if it is toggled on and you put it on a regular charger ? Is it still fine ?

if its on and you charge it in a wall outlet, nothing will happen. it will only work on a real USB connection.
Motorola put in support for the Qualcomm rapid charge in the nexus 6.
Read up:
https://www.qualcomm.com/products/snapdragon/quick-charge
It allows the battery to charge at a higher voltage with USB connections and Qualcomm certified rapid chargers AND a compatible cable. The nexus 6 can still recharge with standard chargers and cables, just at a slower rate regardless of kernel support.
To answer the damage questions: Moto says no damage to the battery as long as certified chargers are used.
Can't you use any standard usb charging cable? (Assuming it's not really long or poor quality)

Fast wireless charger and battery health

I just bought a Samsung fast wireless charger with the intent on using it to charge overnight. Not sure why I didn't just opt for the slower one if that's my main use, but anyway, I'm worried about battery life and health with fast charging all the time. As it stands now, I only use fast charge if I really need it and just charge it overnight in slow mode. Does this wireless charge still allow you to use the slow mode or is it always locked into fast charge?

Yes you can. I have the same charger and all you have to do is go under settings>battery and on the bottom you can turn off fast wireless charging!

Awesome, thanks!
You can also just use a USB wall adapter that is not fast charge compatible, and it will charge at a normal wireless charging rate.
I just got my charger in, but I don't have a setting for fast wireless charging under battery settings. Right now it's charging normally, but when I do want to enable fast charge I have no option. Did it move with the latest firmware updates?
EDIT: Never mind, I just went out to check on it and the option is visible and enabled. Weird.
You can reference the charging tests I conducted with all charging methods for the S7 Edge. Fast Wireless Charging does not generate that much heat, nor does using QC 2.0

The setting for wireless charging appears only after using the wireless charger once. Maybe you have to reboot after that.
Another option for activating fast wireless charging appears under Accessoires at the bottom of all settings.

Slow wireless charging generates more heat than fast wireless charging. I've done about a dozen tests with both and the results are very consistent. In the end fast wireless charging is better as is QC 2.0 if you look at the temperature curves I posted above.

How to disable the Qnovo adaptive charging without root?

It seems like that Qnovo thing would disable quick charge under various circumstances like if the phone is in use according to personal test and charging rate records, but that's undesired to me and I would prefer to have the phone ready for outdoor use as soon as possible after i plug my device in, i.e. the original most advertised use case of quick charging. How do I disable that Qnovo technology?
Not possible from my point of view - besides, it is charged quite fast - and if you want it as fast as possible, use flight mode and just let it charge...
The point is I still want to use the phone when it is charging and I'm looking for a charging rate like 50%/30 minutes

Quick charge with power off phone?

Hi everyone,
I have a question about quick charge on this phone.
If I disable fast charge in setting menĂ¹ and I charge the phone in power off mode, how it's work? It will charge fast o standard speed?
Thank you
connex
i think it will follow the fast charge off setting and charge standard speed
Even I think it will charge in normal speed as you selected in the settings. However, if you use the phone when charging, it will be charging less than if left alone and even if you leave it alone it will be charging less then if you turn it completely off.
