Moto G 2014 Dual Chip Custom ROM Exists? - G 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there. My brother got a Moto G 2014, Dual SIM variant, and want to use a Custom Stable ROM for daily use. Such ROM exists, or only Custom ROMs with Single SIM working?

Almost roms work on dual sim phones. I personally recommend the stock based Radium Redifined

Check out the Android Development thread, all Roms except one or two (where it's written in the starting post) work will full dual sim support. You can try RR, Turbo ROM (which I prefer), Krexus or Resurrection. There are a lot of great ROMs out there for the Moto G 2014 with dual sim.

I think that most CM ROMs for the Moto X are unified builds. I may be wrong, but I know the one in the Development forum says unified, so it should work on any Moto X (at least from the major carriers).

[Q] XT1072 compatible ROMs?

Not wanting to hijack the other XT1072 thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/help/screen-rotation-issues-moto-g-xt1072-t3066532 and with many Moto G variants now out there I wonder what the thinking is re this new phone (4G, 5", UK) and the use of CM12. I would assume this phone's ROM is a mix of the 1st Gen 4G phone (perhaps the same radio) and the 2nd Gen 3G (screen). With CM12 compiled specifically for devices I have not dared flash one and am running rooted stock which, to be fair, is fine. Would a unified ROM be 4G and 5" compatible? Is it a matter of waiting for a device specific CM or could I flash an existing one?
EDIT: I notice that XT1063 to XT1069 on the unified roms are all the 2nd Gen 3G.
Thanks for any help.
Moto G 2015 4G has Snapdragon 400 MSM8926 whereas Moto G 2014 3G has Snapdragon 400 MSM8226.
ROMS for XT1063 to XT1069 are based on MSM8226 sources. You cannot flash those ROMs on your Moto G 2015 4G.
CM12 for your device has to be compiled using MSM8926 sources and MSM8926 device tree.

my XT1072 says it has a MSM8926 and a 48.1D bootloader
cant install CM 12.1 on it as the bootloader is wrong and dunno where to find a bootloader that is compatible with CM 12.1, should be a 4882/83 or 86 to work with flashing CM12.1
any ideas?

Current status of rooting/custom ROM/Kernel?

I'm interested to buy a Moto G LTE XT1072 as a replacement of a Galaxy Nexus.
What's the current status of:
- custom kernel? Can I find an equivalent of Franko Kernel, Fancy Kernel or ElementalX for this device?
- custom ROMs? I'm interested in vanilla AOSP ROMs. Current projects are 100% working? There's some missing HW functionality?
- Is it developer friendly in order to hack it like a Nexus phone?
- Xposed Framework: someone has experience in use of superalpha Xposed framework on ART 5.1.1?
The biggest cons of GNex are battery time and speaker volume. Can I expect with XT1072 an improvement?
To begin, some clarifications :
XT1072 = Moto G 2nd Gen (2014) LTE
XT106X = Moto G 2nd Gen (2014) 3g+
1) 2) Some users flashed roms designed for 3g+ variants on the 4g one and reported that it worked (without 4g obviously) and with speakers bug.
So you can find roms designed for the 4G variant on this forum. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-lte)
And roms designed for the 3g+ variants here http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014
Most roms are fully working without any HW problem.
3) I think installing custom roms, unlocking bootloader, rooting, installing TWRP.. is like on Nexus phones. It is user friendly.
4) This isn't device specific, you can find your answer in the Xposed's official development thread. But I think everything works.
5) The speakers are good and battery life is enough for me but I don't own the GNex so I can't compare.
I think the best you can do is to buy the 3rd Gen Moto G which was just released.
If you want some clarifications, comment !
Just to be clear, there are currently no kernels for this version?
This version = XT1078 dual sim variant (2014 LTE).
There are 2 kernels if I remembrer :
- Stock Motorola's
- Spirit Kernel : http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-lte/development/kernel-spirit-kernel-r1-t3109319
Do you know how did people flash the Titan roms on Thea? I always get an icompatibility error.

Moto X 2014 apps for Custom ROM?

If I install a custom Rom for my Moto X 2014 (like CM), can I install MOTO app for voice commands, Active Notificaciones and also the features for turn on the flashlight or shake to open the camera?
I saw a video with a custom rom with this features! I believe the name was 'Stock for Moto X 2014', but I want install the next version, Nougat, when developers make it.
Sorry mate... Moto app only works with stock rom... There's a custom rom with stock rom modifications if u want to try that u can go ahead..... But other than that rom, no other roms have moto app....
