thanks

The only disadvantage I see in using this is having a plug fitted in the USB port that stands out of the phone and could be prone to get bumped. And bumps could lead to damage connectors inside the phone.
Other than that seems convenient to use.

thanks, now i know what that phone would look like in that case. and that magnetic charger thing is nice

if you charge once a day your phone i dont see any point of getting this. if you disconnect and re-plug phone without being 100% charged battery cycles takes damage. and with magnetic charger im sure it drops off way easier than usj since its not worlds strongest magnet etc..... so id say it damages your battery in long run.

I use one as my charging port wobbles (out of warranty) so then I can leave the plug in my phone without pulling and plugging which would break it even more. The magnets won't fall off it you pick up the phone and are sufficiently strong

Probably. But since everyone buys in about 2 years a new phone you won't recognize the damage you dealt to your battery ?

Dead batteries

Hiya,
I was out travelling, with my Kaiser and my three batteries - unexpectedly two of them died in humid weather, and I thought the phone had died totally too. It refused to boot up even when plugged in, or it got into a strange reboot loop.
Now back home, one battery is working as it should, but the other two are totally dead - but they seem to charge ok (in my external charger).
Has anyone seen this? Is there any point in trying to revive these battery?
Next step: check with a voltmeter if they respond, and also clean the terminals...

Are the batteries older than a year?
They are about a year old... Maybe less than that, and I have rotated between them fairly well, but they have been travelling around in my messenger bag when not in use (and there is a lot of other junk in there...)

Good idea if they've been floating around in a messy storage bag. Lithium Ion batteries come with built in protection circuitry so if, for example, a staple has shorted between the terminals then the diagnosis for the battery will probably be terminal. Cleaning them with contact cleaner or IPA and testing them in a known good phone is about the best thing you can do in an attempt to 'revive' them. Good luck.
Try connecting all of the batteries together inline, then attach them to a bit of this cable and then attach that to a kite. You'll need to wait for a thunderstorm to fly the kite but with any luck, lighting shall strike the kite, thus recharging the batteries.

I just cleaned the terminals of the batteries with a dry q-tip, and that did it, back to life, and working ok! (they have seen quite intensive usage, so they are not 100%, but now they work as they did before)

Battery charger for HD HD2

Hello Friends and greetings to all,
I used to have for my previous HTCs an independent cradle battery charger where I would place a battery in the morning and replace it the evening with the one in my device.
Hence I never suffered from powerlack.
Did you see in your surfing a new device for HTC HD2?
Thank you and have a nice holiday season.
I always switched batteries. I agree, it's the most comfortable recharging practice.
Anyway, I found a craddle/bat. charger here.

Can't agree more with you my friend, takes 3 minutes to do the whole operation, whereas with a broader battery, the spirit itself of your purchasing goal goes astray.
Thanks for your link, I will go for it.

Are there any issues with using non HTC produts? I've used non official products in the past and always had problems, ie they stop working after a while.
Has anyone actually got one? Is it any good?
cradle
I had 1 for my hd, loved it. So got 1 for hd2. Saw 1 with 3.5mm headphone jack, super for listening to tunes,& charging. But, Didn't realize that unless plugged into external speakers when charging ,say at nite, you won't hear phone ring, or message alerts? So, I just plug into reg. charger,so I can hear ring, its my only phone. Might be getting reg.1?
Edit; it does still work to charge spare battery.
Just had thought? If I take out the 3.5 male plug, it will work like I need it too! Right?

A little invention of mine

Hello guys
I was thinking about the battery temperature when charging, so i came upon a little invention of mine. I just wanna share some pictures.
When charging, my battery heats up to 45 to 50 celsius. But by using my invented battery cooler
It can reduce heating up to 25celsius
I took the fan of my ps2 and ac charger of a toy helicopter and modified some parts.
Fan: 9volts
Ac charger(modified): 9volts
Voltage input: 100~220volts
Here are some pics...

I think you mean input? But the idea is amazing .
Ok thanks about that haha.
I also got wrong spellings! Its hard to type in my keyboard.
A little add in my topic, you can also use your old fans from old power supplies from old pc's. Kekeke
Just look for any compatible ac charger or any adapter that can support the voltage of the fans.
Ill make a case after school to make it look more cooler!
This will greatly help the life of your battery.
Just remember, when soldering parts, make sure you dont get burnt.

Yeah, excessive temperature is one of the main reasons of batteries dying. So this might be pretty useful actually.
Nice innovation........
I already made a housing or case for it using my phones box. It does not look cool but it helps

It could be the best if you change the ac charger for an microusb plug and connect it to the phone, at same time that the battery charger.
2 in 1!!
think twice

Actually, the phones voltage is differet from the fan, and the adaptor's voltage is different too.
your device will be burnt or will cause voltage problems:
result: damaged device due too overvoltage.

Yup voltage differences can cause your galaxy ace to malfunction. I have experienced it before charging my phone overseas.
Clever. Useful idea

Slow charging, 9 hours till full from 23%???

Is there a work around for the phone not recognizing a non-OEM charger and charging slowly? There HAS to be a way around this! My G2 is currently sitting at 23% and it says that it will take 9 hours to charge till full!?!?! Even with a generic charger there is no way it should take 9 hours to add 77% to my battery. Any suggestions from anyone, other than buying the OEM charger? I know they're only $10 on eBay but if I could buy one I would have.

What cable are you using? Cheap USB cable have small gauge wires that cannot carry the current this phone draws and will create a large voltage drop which eventually terminates or slows the charging process.
I have a cheap 1A knockoff car charger and use a very short USB cable (1ft) and my phone charges almost as fast as at home.
T
EDIT: Also check the USB port in the phone - if there is lots of lint in there, it prevents the connector from seating and making good contact.
The USB port is fine but I'm using a 2.1amp plug that supports quick charging and a regular 6ft microUSB cable. Still getting the "charging slowly" message.

Must have been a problem with CM13 or something. After restoring my stock backup I no longer get the "charging slowly" message and the phone definitely charges fast now.
I would try charging while completely shut down.
Yes its an issue with the rom you are using. I would suggest you use stock lollipop rom with dorimanx kernel to get the most outta your device.

Fire in the hole (phone caught fire while replacing the battery)

Hello people,
My battery would only last for about 8 hours after using quickcharge way too many times.
So I went online, bought me a new battery from Nohon and it finally got delivered yesterday.
All went fine until I came to the part where I had to remove the old battery.
It was firmly glued to phone and I had to apply some force (very gently) and while doing that, the battery caught fire. (It looked like a little firecracker).
The battery wasn't even connected anymore at that time. by the way.
Luckily, the phone didn't show too much damage, so I connected the new battery.
The good news is that it seems to be working except for the screen. About 10% of the screen (at the bottom) seems to be working and is responding when pushing on it, although there is some backlight problem. The other 90% of the screen is black and doesn't respond at all.
Do you think that the whole screen needs replacing or that the cables under the battery (they look a little damaged) could cause this?
Thanks!

It happened to me too. The melted circuits can not be restored. I purchased a used mi5 (paid € 80)
Inviato dal mio MI 5 utilizzando Tapatalk
It seems to be a screen issue only, because the phone boots up and I am able to copy files over to my pc. So I don't think that all the circuits are destroyed.
Please help me get fast charging back. Like 3 months back, my phone suddenly stopped charging fast and since then its charging super slow. Like if I use it while charging it actually discharge. While switched off it takes 4+ hrs to fully charge.
I have replaced battery, usb assembly, charger, cable everything but to no avail. Now I think its a software issue. Maybe some kernel, firmware I screwed. I have tried Syberia, Xiaomi EU, Rev OS roms as well.
Ampere app never goes beyond 300 mah reading, whatever charge cable combination I try. Please throw if insights.
Thanks a lot
